I checked out $AMS recently. This company has over 30 years in advanced radiation therapy for cancer treatment. Stock at $1.60 with $11 million market cap. 2025 revenue $28 million with strong direct patient growth. Secured 7 year extension with Orlando Health through 2033 and new centers planned. Analyst target $4 for 150 percent upside. No RS no dilution clean ticker. Moving toward owning centers for higher margins. I took a small position and am bullish. Anyone else following $AMS?

They do not operate in the same branch of the photonic value chain. Yet POET is a good name to bet on a re-rating and turnaround of a trash balance sheet. The big difference is it has little ways to unleverage itself and their industrial track record cannot be compared. AMS-osram has delivered in the past. It used to pay dividends before the hell merger. POET never made a profit. REMINDER optics value chain : **1 Materials & Substrates** (InP, GaAs, Silicon) **2 Chip Design & Fab** (Emitters, Sensors, ICs) ams-OSRAM is a player here with great patents, and crazy R&D **3 Integration & Packaging** (Interposers, Engines) POET Technologies is a player here **4 Modules & Subsets** (Transceivers, Sensor Hubs) ams-OSRAM is a player here and already supplies WAYMO & LIDAR for example **5 Systems & End Solutions** (AI Racks, Auto, Mobile)

I completely agree with your thesis. US photonics will not be able to supply the demand, even if they have stellar execution. I just made an extensive due diligence on AMS-osram which is a major swiss industrial turning around on supplying AI data. Tell me what you think that's one way of getting decent exposure + benefit from ultra-low valuation.

#TLDR --- **Ticker:** $AMSSY (OTC) / $AMS.SW **Direction:** Up **Prognosis:** Buy Shares and Leveraged Calls to ride the AI/Photonics re-rating. **Catalyst:** They just sold a division to Infineon for €570M in cash (literally 50% of their entire market cap) to nuke their "garbage-tier" debt. **Vibe:** Securing European "photonics tendies" at a distressed multiple to make Buffett blush.

You're seeing ghosts. The stock market doesn't work like that at all. You seem to be under the impression that the stock market is somehow made by retail investors or that people mostly invest in their own country, but that's not the case, not in any country. The markets, even smaller exchanges like AMS, are far too large and liquid for new tax rules on Dutch retail investors to have any influence. Look up the main holders of AEX ETFs (mostly large institutions), and the main holdings of Dutch retail investors (mostly foreign). That might illustrate the point for you. All Dutch individual investors could sell all of their ING and ASML stock today and the AEX wouldn't lose a single percentage point. This wealth accumulation tax was chosen specifically because it does not give as much market distortion as you would have with a wealth tax or a realised gains tax. In the latter case, people sell near years end for tax loss harvesting.

I would invite you to look at ASMLs eps growth and invite you to reflect on why there is a big difference, and do the same for revenue. After this, you should see the comparison between the stocks: [https://www.google.com/finance/quote/AIR:EPA?window=MAX&comparison=AMS%3AASML](https://www.google.com/finance/quote/AIR:EPA?window=MAX&comparison=AMS%3AASML) I would say that Airbus is no where near the quality of ASML, and I think most people would agree

Many of the minerals are sufficiently provided to the US by Glencore, BHP, FCX, AMS, and Lynus. Problems with the cost will prevent them from exploiting the deposit for a while. Since I do not have an account of a US securities company, I have no idea whether you can trade Japanese stocks in the Schwab market. Maybe you can buy them through the OTC market.

Honestly, 36% annual S&P is a retardedly high number. I believe some companies should really trade sideways and IMHO that should come from a large decline of the overvalued Meta, AMS, and all the war effort stocks (non EU based ) which have just inflated on news, no value. On the other hand, I see a massive growth potential for medtech and green transition tech - even with a decline in green energy push, a lot of infrastructure still needs to be made. IDK, maybe I'm running ahead a year or two on the reality here.

It's not how much you lose if assigned, it's how much you lose if you want to exit that position by buying back the call. You bought 100 shares AMS for $2752.61 and sold a call for $100, total price/value is $2652.61. At the time of the screenshot, you can sell the 100 shares for $2761.00 and buy back the call for $102.50, total price/value is $2658.50. If you closed the position, you'd have made $5.90, assuming the prices are correct (they change quickly and often take the midpoint of the bid/ask spread). This is how much your account value should have changed between the initial sale and the screenshot. If you had the same position without selling the call, you would have made $8.40 but instead only made $5.90. The risk can come from your shares dropping OR from your short-call cutting your gains.

I nabbed it at $177 a couple years ago. I can't say it was from any super intelligent analysis or predicting anything. I simply have always been a gamer and knew Nvdia from their graphics cards. And it seemed to me that, with the pace they were releasing new products, and the fact that AMS was kicking their ASS at the time, they'd have to "figure it out" some time in the near future. TBH I didn't even really think about the AI stuff being so much of a boon at the time. One of the best buys I've ever made, along with FB at $19 after its IPO. That one I didnt actually make the purchase though. I still kick myself for that.

Osram's value was 50 USD per share before the merger with AMS. The merger messed things up. They are now undoing what AMS did. They had to dilute the shares, so they won't come back to 50 but to 10-20 by just being Osram, I don't see why not. I am not saying they have an incredible potential, just that they've hit rock bottom and their only way is up now.

Osram was doing well until AMS decided to 'merge' with them. Ams got a multi billion dollar loan to rack up shares and force them into a merger. Fired all the Osram management. Things got dicey after the merger. Stock plummeted. Changed CFO and CEO a few times. Now there's Osram people back into the management. Sneak attack 😂. I guess they are trying to salvage the company. Pay that multi-billion dollar debt. Apparently they are offering a discounted share price to existing shareholders. Let's see.

The obvious winning application was gaming... Nobody in a professional setting is going to waste time and money having business meetings in metaverse by issuing headsets that costs hundreds when Zoom and group calls work just fine. 10 billion dollars and Metaverse looks like a 18 year olds PlayStation 2 game. Metaverse is nothing but the fantasy of a disconnected rich guy surrounded by people too well paid to tell him his idea is fucking stupid. And before anything tries to claim that they're still growing: their AMS growth went into the negative late 2022. If the current share price a deal for what they were in the past? Yes. Bezos saw it coming and took off. From what I can tell he does not believe the high margin can be sustained in the future and is looking for other business to pursue. Online sales, Capital 1, JD and Walmart seem to catch on fast. That business is based on prime subscription. It will get spun off merge with another company along with trucks and warehouses eventually. AMS is the bread and butter but Microsoft, Google are not far behind. There are many companies love to take away some AWS shares. If it focus of its high margin service it can sustain. One reason Amzn never paid you or other investors a penny of dividend after being in business so long. It puts all its net profit into infrastructure. It never really paid any corporate income tax. Trump has in the past threaten to break the company up several times want it look like just another AT&T. Can you imagine the largest employer in America does not pay income tax. So long it will not do illegal things it will thrive. Will it be the larger employer in 10 years? Not sure.

They run, but usually not as hard as $UONE, $CARV, or $UONEK though (which are under $10). Also, I've said this before, but each of the past 3 years, posts like this get down-voted, and yet the stocks skyrocket anyway. Many stocks have a timing to them. Amazon stock goes up after Christmas. HR Block goes up around tax season. Companies with African-American CEOs go up in Feb and June. Party City sees a spike some time around the 4th of July. It's "time in the market" AND "timing the market". It's analysis. Some things are as close to clock-work as the stock market can get. I'm sure that the family and friends of each of the companys' employees see these patterns and make money trading the pattern as well. I make money on Amazon, HRBlock, and Party City each year. Heck, even Tootsie Roll has some patterns to it. Obligatory: this is not financial advice.

Hi Overexcited AMS OSRAM build sensors and light emitters used in the VR/AR glasses hitting the market in 2024 (through Apple and others). They also have a new technology for microLED screens for telephones which are twice as energy-efficiency as existing ones. AMS trades at 5x FCF TTM. BTU (Peabody Energy) is trading at 6x FCF TTM. They sell coal to steelworks and US powerplants (33% of all energy in the US comes from coal). Prices of coal went from 80$ last year to 400$ now, so they should pull in 2.5B of cash this year and even more in '23. The whole company is priced at 3.4B. Also, in the '70s energy stocks rose while the rest of the market fell, so it is a good hedge in any case. Aleph Zero is a layer 1 protocol capable of more transactions per second than Visa, thay are executed in under a second and near-free to use. If Bitcoin was the brilliant idea of decentralized ownership and transactions, AlephZero is the practical implementation that we can use in the real world. (You would not use btc to pay for a coffee as a transaction takes 1 hour to confirm and costs 20-30$).

Sorry just realised I haven't responded to this. I did a bit of my own Intrinsic Value analysis, then compare notes with MorningStar's Fair Value. I usually start buying when it is about 30% below the IV/FV. So far I have positions in: 1. IMB on LSE: FV around 2,900GBX, I started around 1,700GBX before the war broke out...... But I have averaged down with some 1,6xx and 1,5xx, so currently AVG 1,650GBX. Will continue to add if it's below 1,600. 2. RNO on PAR. FV around €92, I also started before the war @ €34! Have since averaged down to €29 with some purchases as low as €21. This is my least confident so I am mostly just holding. 3. INGA on AMS. FV around €14. I started @ €9.90 when it first dropped 10%, but have averaged down to €9.4 with prices as low as €8.01! I'll continue to buy when it's around €8.1 - €8.6. Not possible at the moment before of last few days' rise. 4. WLN on PAR. FV around €91, my average is €38.75, will continue to add if it's below €40. I'm usually buying US stocks, but the recent events in Europe caused (1) big drops in European stocks and (2) stronger USD vs EUR/GBP. So I put about 10% value of my total portfolio into these 4, hopefully for some capital gain + FX gain in the next few years.
