I think you saying terminal management is a non-issue is clear evidence that you arent grasping the full impact. But hey, if you agree with the thesis, buy shorts on the networks. Go make some money. If my pov is laughably offbase, it should be easy return for you. I am a payments consultant and have managed payment contracts globally, and implementation, for over 10 years at both Uber and NCLH. I oversaw North America, EU, and APAC market expansions. So if my perspective is laughable, and you know better, go get your money and apply for a SVP level role in payments. Make 300k+ base. Uplift your family. Two of our clients race track and bucees had over 10,000 merchant accounts alone. 10-15 terminals per location + fuel terminals. Imagine telling a merchant like that this is a non issue. Especially since those are the ones with firepower to lobby.

"As the Statista chart [based on company data](https://ir.netflix.net/financials/quarterly-earnings/default.aspx) shows, revenue per subscription in Europe, Asia and Latin America is significantly lower than in North America and, in contrast to rising revenue in the USA and Canada, has remained stable over the past two years. In Netflix's main market of North America, revenue per subscription recently increased to around USD 17.30. The EMEA region (Europe-Arabia-Africa) is the second most profitable with just under eleven dollars per subscriber, followed by LATAM (8.29 US dollars) and APAC (7.35 US dollars)." I think its a long term win because they are heavily heavily integrated into developing nations via their core family of apps (India, LATAM, APAC) which are predicted by the UN to be the fastest growing economies in the next 10-15 years, which means Meta is along for the ride. If the VR stuff takes off, even better. Itll be a long term hold though.

Banking technology would be in for an absolute rollercoaster ride - because change control is a significant focus for regulators, for many systems, the only time deployments get done is after hours. If banks suddenly had to pay for true round-the-clock support of trading systems, it would be a huge cost (right now they sorta do, but it's regionalized, so e.g. the APAC devs may not be familiar with changes that only impact NYSE). I'm sure they'll try to simply force people to be on call around-the-clock but will probably burn enough people out they'll have to staff up.

How come we have to send our hard earned tax dollars to support a war monger regime? The Israel people get universal healthcare while I have to pay 800+ a month for sub par coverage. Why is it that we pay for all this? Because APAC has our politicians in their pockets. Time to get money out of politics. I have a great idea. Why not let Israel take care of themselves since they are escalating things over there?

Basically I wrote that it is now a lottery, with all range of options from even bigger problems to full recovery after trading update is published, providing some publicity available facts to support it, like recent layoffs, selling of deliveroo shares and continued, but seemingly not so successful attempts to sell part of APAC business (for me a clear sign that company desperately needs money), but then decided to “unpost” because I’m also a DH employee, and even though I did not give out anything “inside” (I’m not even on that level to know anything serious) I don’t really want to have the slightest chance of getting in trouble with our lawyers. But in the end - fck it 😅 for me current events are clear “start looking for a new job” signal anyways.

Given events during recent decline and finally yesterday’s crash - massive layoff just before Christmas, selling Deliveroo stocks at loss and jeopardised sale negotiations of part of Foodpanda APAC business, and suspecting that those moves are done because company desperately needs money, and knowing that trade report is coming in mid February… This is a “lottery” signal - stocks might either grow back if trading report is good enough for investors, or the company might actually end up insolvent, or anything in between. But for me personally as an DH employer this is a clear “this is your last warning, start looking for a new job now” signal. Prior to a public layoff in Brazil, FMC was already concealing layoffs in its North America and APAC regions. The patents for the actives that comprise 40% of FMC’s revenue are set to expire in the next 2-3 years, with IP courts in Latin America, Europe, and Asia having ruled against FMC’s requests for patent extension. I have a few colleagues that came to my company from FMC. The consensus is that the company is painfully “behind on the times” and deeply in need of a shakeup in the c-suite.

From being there and knowing colleagues who live there for 10+ years and still have no citizenship. My work requires me to travel between APAC countries such as Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore regularly, we have local branches and there are several people in both mid and high level positions who have live there for over a decade, some even decades. They have married or are married to a local Japanese, yet they weren't accorded citizenship despite "path to citizenship is pretty clear" and they fulfilled every requirement. There's a reason Japanese is still 97.6% of the citizenship ethnicity despite many foreigners having the right visas, especially when naturalization exist which only requires 5 years+proof of job that can sustain them. That's why I said "illusion of attaining citizenship". You sound like naive regard who haven't live there long enough to even attain permanent residency, keep up the optimism though, you'll need it when they reject you and refuse to give any reason due to "their policy"(Quota for the year reached).

There are SO many functions on my terminal that I usually only scratch the surface, and I consider myself a pretty heavy user. Equity screens, risk models, extensive charting functions, APIs for outside analytics, news, analyst coverage, fundamentals, filings, etc. It can be like getting a drink from a firehose. For example, I was playing around with their supply chain functions this morning: choose a company and see what proportion of revenue is generated by various vendors, find out which companies depend on that company, etc, all shown in a graphical format. Pretty nifty. Then there's the tie in on the execution side with their AIM and EMSX products. I also have a Factset license, which I'll use as well, but Bloomberg is almost always my platform of choice. Also, I've found their customer service is first rate: open up a chat and you'll be instantly connected with a live individual who can direct you to the appropriate team. Trading APAC and want local help on something? They'll direct you to the HK/Tokyo/Singapore/whatever team and answer your question. Want to schedule a live one-on-one to learn about a specific function? Ping your rep on the internal chat function and they'll set it up for you, and they'll often come out to the office to teach you. It's overkill for the average retail investor for sure, but it's an incredibly valuable resource.

I wouldn’t count out the potential for sustained rally after reschedule, a federal shift in US will be huge. But I think that globally others will follow faster in EU, APAC, etc after US sets a new position. Reform on Canadian excise tax, more countries decriminalize and increased exports to AU and EU could follow.

You're 19, and you think of Apple as an iPhone company. Maybe you think of it as a computer company. Apple is already a conglomerate. As of latest earnings, Apple has $126B in _cash_ sitting in bank account(s). Do you know the _total market capitalization of Disney? Which owns nearly 100 companies by itself? As of right now, it's $154B. So Apple, _with less than half it's cash on hand_ can go into the stock market and buy controlling interest in Disney _right now_ and suddenly control so much of media and Entertainment, that it would be impossible to compete. Hell Comcast, which owns NBC and Universal, has a market cap of $165B. Buying 50% of both Disney and Comcast would cost $159.5B - a bit more than Apple has _in cash_ but an _easy_ number for them to come up with with a bit of their own stock in the deal. They could come out swinging and own 50.1% of both Disney and Comcast within a day. Anti-trust and monopoly cases would fly, to be sure, but it's a couple clicks of a mouse away from actually setting off the most incredible domino effect you could ever conceive of. Apple would own _media_ essentially. They would own the news, they would own entertainment. For all practical purposes, they would suddenly be a kingdom the likes of which has never existed - it would span global markets. Comcast owns broadcast networks that span all of Europe, South America, and much of APAC (heard of Sky? Telemundo?). You think of Disney as Mickey Mouse? That's just the sticker on the wrapper of everything that Disney owns _today_. The only super power countries that would resist would be China and Russia. Maybe India. If they were to centralize that much power, it's goddamn near mind-control in terms of the power to influence the public. Apple is beyond too big to fail. Apple is the first of the technocracies that are likely to dominate societies in the future. It's way, way bigger than iPhones. They don't have to innovate (but I'm sure they will continue to do so) in the same way that Berkshire Hathaway doesn't have to innovate. You can literally _buy_ revenue. The snowball is too big and too energetic, and there's no end to the runway. It's like the Nothing consuming everything in the Never Ending Story. Thank fucking fuck Tim Cook is in charge, and not a fuck-wit like Zuckerberg.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to sales or production figures for an early doors company. Registration figures and revenue is a better guide. Getting cars to market is an expensive job - the system fill alone could cost $1bn and take weeks, if not months, to get the revenue back in. There's not much you can do about it. You have to buy the parts, pay everyone, build the cars, ship them, then get them into the hands of customers before you get the money. The float is beyond ridiculous. I can't see how it won't have to increase, and i can't see how the market cap is justified, either. $0.54 a share might be a bit low, but if they can hit their home APAC markets hard then they could still hold a $5bn+ valuation without making headway in the US.

Up to 1% however they still will intervene above 50bps but below 1% if the speed in which yields rise is considered to be too fast. All the red lines, 1% bands on the JGB, 150 on dollar-yen, are all speculative, Ueda was extreme nebulous in his guidance which is why the APAC desks are on intervention watch right now. My T2 Conference Call Mini-Breakdown, 08/16/23, for dummies(Not, you ofc 🫵): [Note] The conference call more or less just reiterated the information in my previous DD’s but simplified. Regarding their financials, and product testing. But they explained the products with more depth. I found the slides well organized, and I was impressed with the effort. But to be entirely honest, I was a little disappointed with the lack of new information. The information they did provide was relativity positive, but again nothing too surprising. *That being said:* - Clinical Validation of T2 Magnetic Resonance (T2MR) for Rapid Diagnosis of Bloodstream Infections: Pros: ● Faster Detection and Identification: T2MR technology significantly reduced detection time by 81 hours and species identification time by 77 hours compared to traditional methods. This can lead to quicker patient treatment decisions. ● Efficient Antimicrobial Therapy: Patients tested positive through T2MR received targeted antimicrobial therapy 42 hours faster, potentially enhancing treatment effectiveness. ● Reduced Empirical Therapy: Negative T2MR results enabled de-escalation from empirical therapy 7 hours faster, preventing unnecessary treatments. ● Shorter ICU and Hospital Stays: T2MR usage correlated with 5-day shorter ICU stays and 4.8-day shorter hospital stays, possibly improving patient outcomes and reducing costs. ● Comparable Mortality Rates: T2MR's impact on patient mortality rates was similar to traditional methods, indicating it doesn't compromise patient outcomes. Great news so far… Cons: ● Their analysis is based on controlled studies and potentially might not cover all scenarios in the real world. Further testing would be necessary IMO. Not exactly a con, but something to take note of! My Overall Assessment: The meta-analysis highlights T2MR's effectiveness in rapid diagnosis of bloodstream infections. It highlights significant time savings, targeted treatment, and potential cost reductions, with no negative impact on patient outcomes. Great news, but is as expected. -Commercial Go-To-Market Strategy: Pros (Positive Aspects): ● Clear Strategy: The outlined strategy focuses on accelerating sales, utilizing existing customer bases, and expanding into international markets. ● Solid Foundation: An established base of 100 T2Dx Instruments in the United States provides a strong starting point for expansion. ● Enhanced Training: Enhanced customer training programs indicate commitment to customer support and understanding. ● Expansion Plans: Pursuing international expansion across EU/ME, APAC, and LATAM regions shows their growth ambitions. ● Conversion Opportunity: Converting COVID-driven T2Dx usage to sepsis testing demonstrates an adaptability to market shifts. Cons (Challenges): ● Global Expansion Complexity: Expanding into new markets requires addressing regulatory, cultural, and competitive challenges. However in their defense, they previously mentioned they will remain hands off. They will let bigger and already established companies handle the distribution. ● Distributor Dependency: But relying on distributors for training and support might affect consistent quality across regions. This could also be beneficial if a certain region is over performing using a different technique, they could adapt that to their other regions. My Overall Assessment: The strategy has positive aspects such as focused growth plans, existing customer leverage, and customer-centric initiatives. However, international expansion and distributor reliance can pose future challenges for T2. -Operational Objectives: Pros: ● Customer Satisfaction: Achieving on-time delivery targets can enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. ● Profitability Boost: Improving product gross margins directly contributes to the company's financial health. ● Quality Assurance: ISO recertification showcases the commitment to high-quality standards. ● Efficiency Gains: Reducing operating costs leads to improved efficiency and financial performance. ● Innovation Transition: Successfully transferring products from R&D can accelerate innovation and market introduction. ● Manufacturing Scalability: Scaling manufacturing processes aligns with growth goals. ● Streamlined Processes: Implementing the Oracle ERP system enhances internal processes and decision-making. Cons: ● Complex ERP Implementation: Implementing the Oracle ERP system can be complex and disruptive to their already stable applications. My Overall Assessment: The operational objectives align with growth and efficiency goals. However, the complex ERP implementation should monitored closely. - Financial Summary (as of June 30, 2023): Pros: ● Strong Quarterly Revenue: Record sepsis test panel revenue of $2.0 million signifies growing demand. ● Diverse Revenue Streams: Breakdown into product and R&D revenue shows multi-faceted income generation. ● Healthy Cash Balance: $16.1 million cash balance provides financial stability. ● Consistent Growth Trend: 7% Y-o-Y increase indicates market share expansion. Cons: ● Limited R&D Revenue: Absence of instruments, and R&D revenue suggests potential areas where growth is needed. My Overall Assessment: The financial summary highlights revenue strengths and steady growth. Addressing the limited R&D revenue could be a focus for further growth and innovation for T2. In summary: Overall great news; despite the dip today in the market. It is an opportunity to buy more and get in while you can. IMO. Don’t be afraid of the paper hands, do your own research, and take all information including my DD with a grain of salt! [Again, sorry about the delay. If you’re upset, then donate me some cash and I will make sure to release on time 😝]

Short answer - no. Don't invest in anything for 30 years unchecked. There's no index or ETF or company that will prove to be a solid return. Long answer - not unless you plan on being a sector expert on it and developing ties to the country. Do you have inroads to the way business is actually done there? Then start developing. Start watching their market daily. Use chart trading to understand trends. Read their news, and understand their booming sectors. You want to be a millionaire? Go to college, get an econ degree with a second major in Indian markets/studies, learn the language(s) then go to a Wall St. firm and be a trader on their APAC/India desk. Maybe there is an Indian equivalent of Berkshire Hathaway... but I doubt you'll find it without paying someone handsomely to be your trader/broker.

You could also say owning foreign companies gives US exposure, too, so VXUS isn't so bad (I don't own any, to be fair). But definitely not the same as holding a group of equities and companies based in South America, EU, APAC, or similar.

Next earnings will probably be the volatile earnings this quarter was expected to be. Overall they didn't report anything insanely good or bad. Things to note are APAC region still struggling on revenue growth even when growing consistently in subs, LATAM dropping subs even though other regions can retain their positive adds after large gains, significant fall from last quarter in sub growth meaning another bad quarter will probably tank them. They also use a table that shows % of TV viewership in different countries and they just reordered it from the last quarter and changed the way it presents some data. The thing is everything is the same in the chart except US dropped 1% which still seems to suggest stagnant to declining viewership over this quarter. They also said they are wanting to roll out their paid sharing in the US this quarter so next quarter will be a big indicator on whether or not Netflix can maintain their growth. Another thing Netflix has is their gaming section which they just acquired Joseph Staten, but regardless getting into gaming is probably a huge mistake for Netflix.

Revenue miss, eps beat, subscriber growth in APAC, subscriber drop in UCAN, LATAM, and EMEA. Theyll probably announce a buyback as well. The companies that track watch time of Brazil, UK, US, and Mexico are reporting stagnant to declining share of watch time for Netflix which could suggest stagnant growth. ARM has also been falling consistently and with the new ad tier being introduced it will probably drag it lower on top of the password crackdown making people downgrade their plans (given if they share with a family member outside of the home they wouldn't need the screens). Netflix probably won't have a move of 8% down if they dont announce a considerable drop in UCAN subscriptions. As for the buyback Nerflix claimed last report they would like to do buybacks given they have extra cash on hand. They said they want 2 months of revenue on hand at minimum which was about 5.2b and to conduct investments in core business like acquisitions and then would use what is left for buybacks. Last report they had about 5.1b so its likely to see one announced. Also I dont really know how Netflix manages to gain 5.4 million subs in APAC region and still report worse revenue.

That’s where the trick is. Stripe is never appearing on the website. But the payment processing in the backend happens and they have an insane share, and not just that - their developer tools are probably much better than PayPal. Amazon (EU and APAC), Walmart, Target, Etsy all use Stripe. These are just few of the many. That being said this payment processing industry is hyper saturated which is why none of these players are making profit. As far as remittance is concerned, PayPal isn’t anywhere close to Western Union, Moneygram, Wise or any such tool

I like how somehow you take a post about a South Korean chip and electronics manufacturer who only gets 30% of sales from North and South American (combined), and somehow just use that as a soapbox to parrot about American inter-generational class struggle. Unless you're actually implying those greedy Chinese capitalists are greedflating APAC out of their disposable income? Or, you know, maybe it has nothing to do with your beer industry, and instead has something to do with the well-known semi-conductor business cycle interrupted by COVID that every other poster is talking about? Username checks out. Yes they are opinions - no one knows. I long held the belief that the valuation divide between Europe / APAC and the US would close, starting right after the GFC. I allocated up to 25% to those geographies. Maybe more at times. That didn’t serve me well. After over a decade waiting for the outperformance and instead seeing Europe’s trouble continue, I finally reluctantly made the shift. Now as the dollar has gotten ludcriously strong vs the yen and euro, I started to reopen those positions a bit because the currency and valuation divide was too large to ignore. Those bets haven’t yet paid off, but they were made after Ukraine was invaded. Time will tell. Still I think 150yen to the dollar is crazy and likely to revert closer to 100 eventually creating a road to returns irrespective of valuation levels in Japanese equities.

You may want to try reading entire articles before cherry picking something you think supports your claim. From the article: "A recent report showed that one team handling child sexual abuse content on the platform for the Asia Pacific region—which has a population of 4.3 billion and includes Japan, the country with the second most Twitter users after the US—is literally down to just one employee." One person. For all of APAC. And the article goes on to list deep concerns about post-Musk Twitter's efforts to combat things like child exploitation. And you can't hand-wave away the startling advertiser loss to the GOP's most recent thought-terminating cliche, "wokeness" (aka, "political correctness", aka "literally anything we don't like".) Advertisers aren't pulling out due to "wokeness", they're pulling out because Musk fucked up and Twitter is a mess. Musk paid $43B for Twitter after literally waving due diligence (lol), then freaking out and desperately trying to get out of the deal. Twitter has since bles talent and revenue with no viable replacement for that revenue in sight. He fucked up, and no amount of weird hero worship can change that.
