I can provide a bit more insight. Some banks in Australia are only for walk-in customers with home loan specialists or to deposit cheques. They don't actually have tellers working in them to deposit or withdraw cash. As absurd as this sounds, it has nothing to do with solvency. They made AU$7.4bln profit last year.

This is the truth, crypto shills can mental gymnastics all they want about their $100 of deposit being a huge blow to banks (lmao) but end of the day, dealing with scam victims is a far larger thorn up financial institution's asses than LoSiNg DePosIts. If someone gets phished and have their entire bank account wiped, this figure usually goes up to the tens of thousands. AFCA is very consumer-centric and would likely deem the bank to reimburse these victims fully, despite the victim clicking on links, providing OTPs, downloading malwares, etc. Banks care much more about NOT reimbursing these kinds of dumbasses much more than how much profit they can earn from your measly deposits. If you are moving your funds out because of these security measures, they are more than happy for you to do so because you immediately shift that risk out of themselves. I found a watch face for Garmin that shows BTC price as one of the fields (not widget). But it drains the battery life faster than other watch faces, and I haven't been able to figure out how to get the weather field to update. Does anyone have any recommendations? As far as I know this is the first one I have ever found that has this. When you first install it, you need to give it 15mins to update the price. In the settings, you need to select BTC as a field. You are mixing two things. You are mixing how things should be, and there I rather agree with you, and how things actually are, and there you are wrong. In UK, when you sell, CGT applies. And yes, perhaps in some countries (I doubt UK, but who knows), maybe at some point in the future, someone changes the law and it will be more like it should be. But currently, it's not. These things take years, if not decades. Politicians are useless slow parasites and I would not put any hope into any one of them. Maybe, just maybe, in Argentina or El Salvador, maybe. But UK, US, CA, EU, AU? I would not hold my breath.

The issue is not BTC going to $1M. The issue is the USD going to 0.01 cents. Think about it. Most Bitcoin is being HODLed. Sure, there will be a bunch of new millionaires, but that wealth tends not to go anywhere . . . after all, why else would you swap your *other* assets (RE, Stocks, AU etc.) for BTC. Ambiguous wording on my part, Coinbase isn't an Australian Exchange, but Aussies can use it. Coinspot, Swyftx and Binance AU have all ceased their 'staking'. CDC and Kraken arn't Aussie based exchanges either. But given CDC and Coinbase are allowing on-chain staking within their platform, I'd like to see atleast Coinspot work towards that option. It's tempting for me to send a portion of my ETH over to coinbase to make use of it, while its still an option. CDC are only providing on-chain staking to MATIC, SOL, DOT and CRO via the app to Aussies.

Usually it is just small stuff you find.. A lot of it is just testing spots.. The panning part becomes really easy once you get the hang of it.. Though that is pretty much just the last step in the process. It's more about moving material. There's little kits you can buy too for like $20-$50 that have AU mixed in material.. Use a 5 gallon bucket and a small pan that way you can practice until you get the hang of it w/o losing anything.

When people anticipate devaluation of fiat currency, there tends to be an increase in demand for stores of value. And vice versa of course. Seeing as the block time is 10minutes you would not really notice any difference if you were within about 1AU of earth as it takes about 8 minutes for light to travel this distance. So you could transmit a transaction and it would be included in the next block no problems. Problem is mars is just over 2AU, so you are waiting minimum two blocks to get a transaction broadcast, then another two blocks to know if it's been confirmed as you would have to wait 32 minutes for a round trip. Basically it doesn't matter where you are in the universe to use bitcoin, it just matters how long you want to wait for conformation. People could just set up lightning channels, wait for ages then be good to go wherever they are. Seeing as a transaction stays in the mempool max two weeks you could be 1121AU away from earth and have a round trip time of two weeks to know your transaction has been confirmed and not dropped out the mempool. Or you could wait a full 4 weeks before re-broadcasting. The nearest star is 12950AU away so bitcoin would only every really be usable within the same solar system.
