Excellent find. I remember you mentioning this and I've been interested in finding some sort of 'testing/measurement' company. Starting to rethink my AZZ position. Sleeping on it,.it feels more like an emotional attachment because my price trigger hit and I fell in love with the company a few months ago.
Added AZZ since my price trigger was hit and rolling the dice with KNSA. Have had some schess with niche drug manufacturers like LNTH and NBIX. KNSA offers ARCALYST, an interleukin-1alpha and 1beta cytokine trap for the treatment of recurrent pericarditis, a chronic autoinflammatory cardiovascular disease and cardiac sarcoidosis. I'm gonna gonna begin to try to understand the science behind it all but from what I have read there is a membrane of some sort around the heart and KNSA has developed a drug that helps keep it strong. They are the only ones to make this drug. Currently patients have to basically be a sorta chemist and mix this freeze dried powder KNSA created and inject it into themselves. It seems they have been having a massive marketing campaign to help doctors more accurately identify the condition in patients instead of prescribed pain killers and/or steroids. KNSA is also developing an auto injector of it that patients only need monthly and one more out there where patients will only need it quarterly. AZZ galvanizes fabricatied steel and serves the Aerospace and Defense markets primarily through its Surface Technologies segment.
I have a small position in AZZ. DSGX / MANH should benefit more if / when money rotates out of chips and back into software / IGV. Likely will need some patience. SPXC earnings were good and IIRC they might have even raised their full year guide. I'd look into Belden (BDC). I am red on the name but intend holding through their next earnings before taking any action.
Picks and shovels and niche companies are all I look at honestly lol. You went into more detail about BRC than I did btw so it's nice to see new info about it. I'm currently down on my newest positions like PPG, TTEK, and ALSN but seeing some life in DSGX and MANH which is nice. Been eyeing SPXC, AZZ, and VLTO. Need someonet first but not willing to sell what I got currently lol.

I bought some earlier this year because of grid modernization, renewable energy, and data center expansion. It might not be the sexiest company, but AZZ should continue to benefit from each.
Was looking at it a month or so ago but AZZ is such an interesting company. Pure play on metal coatings and galvanizing. They provide corrosion protection for the steel used in transmission towers, solar arrays, and bridge infrastructure. They are the #1 independent player in North America and they’ve slashed debt by ~$400M in the last two years. Looks like a solid play for grid-modernization and re-shoring. Does anyone follow AZZ? They are a leader in the metal coating industry. They have been benefiting from increased infrastructure projects (roads and bridges), power grid updates (electrical transmission), renewable energy projects (wind and solar), and the data center buildout (constructing the buildings and powering them). Seems like they should continue to benefit given these areas don’t seem to be slowing down.
