$BLZE Backblaze storage company earnings on Dec13 after IPO on Nov10

$BLZE is going knock everyone’s tits off, so I’m all in - Cloud storage Amazon AWS competitor under $1 Billion Market Cap, SaaS business model with 50% gross margins, and 33% YoY growth. Company has rarely ever had to request outside funding

Agree, smaller businesses and startups cant afford to buy physical storage, so if physical demand has gone up (big companies) it's reasonable to assume that it will be followed by smaller companies. $BLZE looks promising.

I really like Backblaze (BLZE). They do data backups, and they do it very very well. They are very close to hitting profitability, which I think is going to start up some real price action. Each of their customers tend to stick around long-term, and I think there's very little risk of backtracking after breaking through.

BLZE For media professionals, it's a no-brainer. It's a safety copy of UNLIMITED DATA stored in a cloud server for less $100/year. I currently have 22TB backed up, and I sleep so much better at night knowing that if any of my drives fail, I'm covered.

They should be moving along with a study using their mist alongside an AstraZenaca product. With the RFJ jr stuff and NIH issues it’s just a little uncertain and bumpy. IBIO CVAC IBIO AIM are all avian flu potentials. IBIO is doing some cool stuff with AI. But again the climate right now is unpredictable

Haha don’t worry, I wouldn’t laugh in your face. The main advantage really is their price point and transparency. You can go on their website as a potential customer and see exactly how much you’ll pay. Seems like customers like having a split between BLZE and say, MSFT. It cuts their cloud bill by more than half and gives them more flexibility. I don’t see them joining the big 3, but they hardly need to reach the $1T mark to deliver strong returns. Strong ARR growth, strong operating leverage, and an attractive valuation.

You got it all good. But when it comes to the question about selling just a day or two out, you greatly reduce your profit potential, and/or greatly increase your risk. Also, the options are written according to a constant schedule, not just "Wednesday" cuz you want it to. Besides a couple like SPY or something, all options expire on Fridays. They are typically weekly, and can be written months in advance, or years in advance. Some stocks aren't "big" yet, so they may only offer monthly or something [Like my BLZE :-( ]. You're essentially selling volatility potential over time, and can buy back at any time to gain profit of there's some significant movement in the direction opposite the strike. I try not to hold my sold options to expiration, because that penny or two isn't worth the chance of freak aftermarket action that vauses your stuff to get exercised after the bell. Also, if I close the trade, I can open the next week's already if there's a good trend to sell into already. If the call expires on Friday, and you sell on Wednesday (2DTE, 2 days to expiration), most the strikes probly won't be worth much, since there's like no time for much movement. Especially on a small value stock to allow you to own 100 shares at your account value. Also, if you did want to sell something for .04 a share at a strike really close to the actual stock price, id say it's pretty risky because one bad global market day can probly bust that strike and you're looking at a loss when you only wanted a couple bucks. And Everytime that happens, you'll buyback to close the trade, and then it'll bounce. The universe works like that lol. I typically sell a full week to two weeks, or maybe a month on things I'm fairly confident on. I try to time my calls in line with a strike near a resistance line or for puts, where the support is. And on my bigger chunks of stock, I started to shy away from selling against all my shares, or would at least stagger the strikes a bit in case something bad happens. Even Lower risk, lower reward, but I want as close to guaranteed money as I can. If you only have enough for one set of shares to sell against, it'll probly seem like it doesn't work too well. And the value swings may seem bad. But it's all about consistency and still knowing when to get out of bad trades, to include your underlying shares (after you close the call, to be able to dump shares if need be). There's also a couple other strategies in how to do it, though id never suggest them without lots of experience in how stuff works. I made an insane implied volatility move to buy shares of AMC right before the markets crashed that fateful day way back when. 1000 shares at 19 at 359pm. The plan was to sell the call, because the price for the contract to expire the next day was stupid higher than normal, since it ran from 10 to 19 that day. And the options markets didn't even have any options higher than 9 yet. So I sold 9 strikes, for 10.5. 9 strikes + 10.5 premium minus 19 investment = 0.5 per share expected profit. I just had to hope it stayed ABOVE 9 by the end of the next day. Wouldn't you know it, aftermarket it crashed to 16, and by morning, Robinhood said "you can't buy this anymore" and the market went NUTS. I managed to close my options after a 9 minute wait for notification before I could then TRY to sell my shares to see how bad I messed up. But the stock was going crazy - 16. 15.4 15.7, 14.9 15.2. 14.6. 15.1..... I got the option buyback for 5.5 (5 profit) sold the shares for 14.5 (4.5 loss) and after about 40 minutes realized i made 552 bucks on a rather yolo 19k bet in one day on COVERED CALLS. I don't advise playing with fire lol. But it seemed like a lock. If Robinhood hasn't shut off the buying etc, it woulda been a much easier in n out where I coulda bought back on the dip for whatever, and on a bounce sold the shares for another 1k difference. But it didn't work out.

BLZE hasn't underperformed, been oversold, nor is it currently under(book)valued in my opinion, but I do love its growth prospects. ARR from half a million customers and growing, storing ever-growing amounts of data in painful-to-migrate-out-of cheap cloud object storage.

BLZE is a very thinly traded small cap name which came public at $16/share, traded up to $27/share in November of 2021, and has now traded off 80% to $5.30/share. The founders own nearly half of the company 5M shares on 32Mb so the float is abysmal on top of an already small market cap, so I get why nobody cares about this thing. At about 1x revenue it is incredibly cheap on traditional SaaS metrics and just feels like it has been left for dead. I get that there are concerns about competing with AMZN and that arbitraging the price of data storage doesn’t feel like a great moat, but frankly I think the risk/reward we are presented with here at these levels compensates us for those concerns. S3 is a massive and likely profitable component of AWS and if BLZE can win some small business on the margin as the low-cost player in this market then this can be a nice little business over time. They’ve clearly already struck a nerve with the 80K paying customers of B2 and I don’t see them constrained by the size of the market.

So, there's a little company called $BLZE out there that IPO'd last year. Got in at the IPO price, sold when it touched 35 just because I thought that was a little too far for the company with the best of intentions to get back in. Never did - somehow they got deleted off my watchlists and I forgot about them until very recently. Currently sitting at 340 mm cap. Very low risk play at these prices if someone is looking to get into the cloud archival space and is willing to be patient. Disclaimer: I don't have a position here and I'm having a hard time envisioning a scenario in which I take one in the short term, but that's just because my fun portfolio focus right now is in more defensive plays than speculative.

They're a 500M mktcap company. Obviously they don't have mega enterprise clients. > They are primarily targeting the audience of individual users and SMB. Their price is the most competitive in the industry, yet they are still able to maintain 50% gross margins. Notice how I said the same thing you did but backed it up with facts: > The biggest risks against BLZE is that they are mostly competitive on price. Which makes their market a race to the bottom. Margins can get squeezed, there's no loyalty in customers, and its easy to migrate storage solutions.

I’m most bullish on BLZE, CRWD, and SPOT. BLZE has valuation under $1B. I use it to backup my own computer. They have huge opportunities in the growing cloud businesses and are growing rapidly. I don’t think you have missed the boat on CRWD. The future of conflict is cyberattacks, and Crowdstrike has a simple subscription cloud based security system that has never been breached. Great risk reward for any company. I expect them to increase several times over in market cap over the next decade. I’ve been adding to this position in recent weeks. Spotify isn’t incredibly profitable right now but the price to Sales is reasonable. I believe that they will replace much of the music industry and sign artists directly longteem becoming more like how Netflix produces their own content. This would improve margins. Also, alternative Passive audio like podcasts are growing like crazy. Spotify dominates among youth. Market cap of $47B has plenty of room for growth in future decades.

Backblaze (BLZE). Just ipo’ed on Nov 11th. Still super small market cap (below $1b). I think long term they can challenge some of the big boys in cloud storage. Right now they are targeting small-medium sized businesses. Seems like they are well-liked, high customer retention and people there love working there (4.9 score on Glassdooor). So I think they have great long term potential.

Backblaze (BLZE). They just ipo’ed last week and still have a market cap of below $1b. They are a cloud storage company that allows companies (mainly small-medium sized) to back up unlimited data from their desktops. They’ve developed a more simplified and lower price structure then their competitors. I don’t think they’ll be the next Amazon or Microsoft for cloud storage but I think it can become like Cloudflare which has a market cap of close to $68b.
