Not sure why would that be the case bewteen December 2024 and roughly April 2025. AMD was in a downtrend range with little to no technical ( :) ) signs of a reversale. It hit the bottom of the range and then bounced with volume and even the move up was not much of a suprise - although I admit I didn't expect it to go that high up - because of the broken range around middle of May. This for me is TA. Is it not bullet-proof and there are certainly a lot of assumptions but some of them are more likely than others. When I put a trade I look at the chart to position myself, bullish, bearish or neutral. Given the recent moves, support, resistence and some indicators I decide if I want to go with a PUT, a CAL or a strangle or simply sit it out until something intersting appears in the price action. Most of the TA is in the price action and the indicators are to give context. I take the possible volatility into consideration when I choose my strikes.

The company caused an egregious outage and the CEO blamed Microsoft "content update" versus their own crappy code. Would not be surprised if a CAL comes out as a result from this. The company needs a hard reckoning, as lives more than likely were lost.
Short the stock. The CEO's smugness alone without apologizing until many releases later because of backlash, should tell you all about the culture. Company does not care hospitals (yes people in ER, life support, etc.) were negatively affected. Let alone the airports, 911 units and the rest. I imagine some sort of CAL will happen as a result and the company will go insolvent. This is a vastly big screw up on massive proportions. ROCm struggled to reach feature parity, which isn't enough when Nvidia is the incumbent with a strong ecosystem and 5X-10X the market share. AMD's answers to CUDA needs to out-compete it. Right now, it's barely treading water alongside it. CAL was unique at the time. It didn't win, but at least it was something more than an imitation.

UAW members who held GM common also received stock in the new venture in a stock for stock deal, not available to miserable peons such as myself. There is a 30% chance of the Cascadia megathrust 9.0 earthquake happening in the next 50 years. When is happens it will blow away any previous death total for a US natural disaster. Tsunamis will at least partially wipe away many towns on the OR WA and NOR CAL coasts. Nearly all major infrastructure west of cascades in OR and WA will need repair or total replacement. Bye bye bridges. Bye bye train tracks. There is a large oil and hazardous material terminal on the Willamette River in Portland on ground that will likely liquify and poision the river and/or just blow the fuck up. Economically it will take a decade or more for the PNW to recover. Portland and Seattle as a tech hub will suffer significantly. Those cities won't be livable for a number of years and it will have a major ripple effect as large corporations try to figure out what to do. In short, I don't think we are prepared for a huge chunk of the country to get wiped off the map for a number of years.
