My pick is a small specialized chemical stock Entegris. It supplies chemical filtration and purification as well as CMP for fabs like TSMC, Samsung and Intel (not so sure about this one as of recently). I’m hoping its product will scale well with the new 2nm and 14A nodes that these fabs are making in the future.

Dude! You are fucking legend. 1.06 and 1.26 is crazy. And here I was salivating at the CMP that is 50% down.
Compass Minerals International Inc went public in 2003. Based on the time that the stock was bought, I don't think that company is the correct one. I did manage to track down a company that used to use CMP as a ticker, Comprehensive Care Corporation on June 30, 1997. It used to be listed on the NYSE, but was delisted to OTC to CHCR. On January 8, 2014, the name changed to Advanzeon Solutions, Inc. For GRE, I haven't found anything about it. Unless the name of the companies are given, not really possible to verify if my assumption is correct.
1) CMP — this one is straightforward The ticker CMP is still an active company: ➡️ Compass Minerals International, Inc. • It’s a real, currently traded stock (salt + fertilizer company). • If your grandfather actually owned shares, they may still be valid today (possibly adjusted for splits, dividends, etc.) What likely happened since 1993: • Company may have: • Changed name (it did in 2003) • Done stock splits / restructures • Your certificate might still represent ownership—but it may need to be converted (“reissued”) into modern electronic shares 👉 This one is worth investigating further for sure. ⸻ 2) GRE PRB — this is the tricky one This is NOT a normal stock ticker anymore “PRB” usually refers to: ➡️ Series B preferred shares, not a company itself Meaning: • “GRE PRB” was likely: • A preferred stock series issued by some company (maybe GRE = the issuer) • These often: • Pay fixed dividends • Get redeemed (bought back) by the company eventually ⚠️ Important: • Many PRB-type securities have been fully redeemed and no longer exist • If that happened, your grandfather would have been owed: • Cash payout at redemption • (But if unclaimed, it may now sit as unclaimed property) ⸻ 3) PC Financial Network (why this complicates things) PC Financial Network was a brokerage that no longer exists. So your shares are likely now: • Held by a transfer agent, or • Escheated (sent) to the state as unclaimed property ⸻ What you should do next (this is the important part) Step 1 — Look closely at the certificates You need: • Full company name (not just ticker) • CUSIP number (very important) • Issue date 👉 The CUSIP is the key to tracking what happened after mergers / name changes. ⸻ Step 2 — Contact the transfer agent Most old stocks are managed by companies like: • ComputerShare • Equiniti Tell them: • You have a physical certificate • Provide CUSIP + company name They can: • Confirm if shares still exist • Reissue them electronically ⸻ Step 3 — Check unclaimed property (VERY important) If dividends or redemption money were never claimed: Search here: • National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (missingmoney.com) Also check your grandfather’s state specifically. ⸻ Step 4 — Use a brokerage to help (optional but powerful) A broker like: • Fidelity Investments • Charles Schwab can: • Help you deposit physical certificates • Do the research / conversion ⸻ Bottom line • CMP: Likely still valid → worth real money if shares exist • GRE PRB: Likely a redeemed preferred stock → value may exist as unclaimed cash instead

So diving more into Qnity, which I should have dived more before opening a position, it seems their CMP can also be applied to jet engine turbines, medical implants, precision optics, aerospace parts, solar panels, and foldable tech and wearables. interested to see more from them in the next year or so beyond chips especially with this whole onshoring of business happening.

I remember looking into the DD spin-off a few weeks ago and threw both DD and Q on my watchlist. DD the big driver moving forward was the water treatment, correct? I was a bit confused with Q in their growth rates weren't as big as I'd expect during this chip boom with their CMP.
Started this a little bit after open today. Copy and paste below from a different sub I posted in about AI stocks for the coming years. With the reshoring of companies going on I found Qnity Electronics and thought it could be a decent play for a while. Interested in this subs thoughts. "I'm gonna start DCA'ing into Q - Qnity Electronics. They essentially provide the chip makers the CMP (Chemical Manufacturing Planarization) and Photoresists, basically the "paint and sandpaper" to polish the chips once they have been fabricated. They were spun off from DuPont de Nemours recently and they look really good for prime growth. They have 39 manufacturing sites and 17 dedicated research labs worldwide. They are the primary American alternative to Entegris in a market otherwise dominated by Japanese firms, but Entegris bit off more than they could chew with an acquisition back in 2022 before rates hiked and it seems they are focused on paying off debt rather than growing during the "AI boom" if you will."

I have consistently made income using credit spreads for couple years. My trading style is slightly different. I mostly do call credit spreads(bearish trade) in a bullish market and vice versa. Most of my trades are usually call credit spreads done weekly, since am a believer that good stocks are meant to go only up. I don't care much about the width of the spread. My spreads are mostly 5 points width. But the strike prices are far enough to reach mostly 7.5% higher than the CMP for the weeklies. I try to target 80-95% of the profit before rolling/closing them on Fridays. I usually end the trade if it ever goes negative 40-50% of the credit that I received, which usually happens for <=5% of my trades. I know the risk involved, and so I have weekly targets which I target for. I don't want to overshoot, just always looked for a consistent weekly/monthly income.
I’m a daily drinker of 7-12 beverages a night and my bloodwork came back today with all normal levels for CMP, lipid panel, CBC. Dear Aladdin BlackRock asset manager, I will be buying $45M of $SPY puts at tomorrow's open at 9:31:10AM EST and then buying $3M of $BA since it's currently undervalued at the CMP. This is essentially the problem. Capillary blood is not the same as the blood you get from a venous stick. I work in a medical lab. We do capillary blood testing on pediatric patients and the occasional adult who won't do a venous stick. It's okay, but you're likely only getting a complete metabolic panel out of it and nothing else. Even then it's usually hemolyzed which alters the results. My chemistry analyzer is incredible. For that CMP we only need about 75-100 micro liters of serum (plus dead volume). That's one drop of serum though. Most test you can't do on whole blood so for 100 micro liters of serum you're going to need about 250 micro liters of whole blood

Just had a routine physical exam with blood work that 10 years ago was free but now is going to cost me $500. 10 years ago wellness exam and routine labs were free. So why the change? 1. Hospital billed the wellness exam as an in-office visit because I asked a question about my health. That's bullshit. 2. CBC and CMP are not considered preventive health under my plan and so not paid by insurance. Also bullshit, these should be part of a wellness exam. 3. My hospital owns the health insurance company so they have total vertical integration to fuck over consumers Literally paying thousands for healthcare and still get hit with high fees for basic wellness exam and labs. People are getting fed up with for profit health insurance.

the keyword here is cost. background is that china is the only country on planet earth that has full supply chain of semiconductor industry. note that it is the most complete supply chain, not the most advanced supply chain, meaning it can produce raw materials, equipments and tools(lithography machine, CMP, etc.), it can develop EDA, design chips, manufacture and package chips without foreign tech. if you cut china off from the rest of the world completely it can still make up to 65nm chips from scratch. those may sound vintage but they are good for TVs, missiles and low end computers. it's believed in 5 year they can make 10nm completely on their own. out of all the processes, packaging and testing are the easiest ones, which are also the ones that china is best at. for any industry, when china gets in the cost will be lowered significantly due to china's scale and integration of supplier chain (TVs, memory chips, LED etc). for chip packaging and testing, there is no place in the world that can do it cheaper than china, intel chooses to do it here to make sure it can keep the costs down and stay in the chip game facing challenges from AMD, qualcomm, or even mediatek
Oh lord oh lord. They don't trade at retail, they have banks and specialized vehicles/platforms to trade such large quantities. Which doesn't move the market at all. If you want to buy confidentially MM comes to into play. Delivery is something you can't hide for months like WB did it. MM tend to play the spreads to get you stocks with good avg. I had an xyz person who bought a 55m trade back in the car while we were driving for an outing, which was for a CxO of a large US bank. Yes, I assumed that after earnings, IV crush would hit the nearer leg more than the far leg, thus increasing the spread between the two legs, which I can sell for a profit. So, what you are suggesting is that the strike price should be chosen in a way that the underlying's price should move towards the strike from the CMP?
these are ITM calls. more expensive and your strike price is below the CMP. You pay higher premiums on ITM calls.

After adjusting Patrick Mahomes' stats, removing outliers to project the future, he heavily regresses to around the level of 2018 Dak. In the last two seasons, Mahomes has a TD% of 8.68%. However, the league average last year was 4.8%. If you adjust his TD% to 5%, **still above LA**, he goes from throwing 57 TDs in his last 18 games to only 32.85. I'll be generous and give him 33. Now, let's adjust his passer rating. **It goes from 116.5 to only 104.3 by just adjusting his TD% to normally above average. Later on, I will adjust it further to take yards into account.** Next, we have to account for him passing more than league average. He has 657 pass attempts over 18 games. The LA is 35.5/game, which equals 639, around a 2.7% reduction. Mahomes also has a flukey 9.01 Y/A, which can be adjusted to 8 (still above LA) based on the league average of 7.5. So we can estimate that over a 16 game season, his adjusted yardage is (639*7.5)/18*16= 4544 yards. Now, I will adjust his passer rating again based on these 16 game stats * 4544 yards * 639 attempts * 426 completions (also adjusted) **After this, his passer rating bottoms out at 96.66**, which lands him squarely between Dak Prescott and Ben Roethlisberger last year. His final 16 game adjusted stats: * **4544 yards / 639 ATT / 426 CMP / 66.7% CMP (same) / 33 TD / 12 INT (same) / 8 Y/A / 96.7 RATE** #What does this tell us? It tells us that Mahomes' perceived success in the league is largely inflated by unsustainable, wildly outlier stats in his 18 games as perceived elite talent. When you adjust for the future by bringing down his outlier stats, he regresses heavily to a slightly above average QB of 2018 Dak tierdom.
So, you’re essentially “buying” NVDA at 76.43% of CMP. And you’re paying 1.024% ($5) for that right. I won’t go into price moves along the year. If NVDA goes to 550 at or near expiration, you get a 15.28% realized return as opposed to buying it and getting a 12.70% return. Now, if the price jumps up in January or February, say to 520, you get 7.24% (assuming no slippage) for that period. And frankly, most people would be happy with 7+% over 2 months because if you can annualize that, it’s a 50% return assuming reinvestment of full amount each time. And make no mistake, it’s an absolute bullish bet.

What is CMP. What is LMP.. Buying puts to hedge portfolios increases put prices. Selling calls to finance buying puts typically depresses call prices. Nvidia is a hard read. Abandoning the consumer for the pro market and banking everything on AI. Didn't work out so well creating the CMP brand during crypto.....that spectacularly failed the second ETH merged. But they might have game on the AI front. But is abandoning the prosumer market smart? especially with Intel and AMD gladly willing to take that market?

woah, back up. yes, NVAX clearly screwed up and yes, the NVAX subreddit was in denial that the company had missed the boat, but... * dozens of countries including EU countries and asian countries approved NVAX several months to a year before the USA, and * the FDA met to discuss J&J, Pfizer and Moderna within a week or two of their FDA applications, while they waited almost 6 months to meet regarding NVAX. NVAX applied on January the 31st of 2022, and didn't get a meeting to discuss the vaccine until June. this was *after* the FDA changed the rules to require a CMP 30 days before EUA application to "give them time to review it". NVAX screwed up big time, but it seems like part of that screwup was not knowing how to get on the FDA's good side. the FDA absolutely gave them the fucking shaft, unless you think there's some sort of super special reason every other country could approve it before the USA could..

Maine is basically monopolized by CMP power and they've basically tripled in price in the past 2-3 years. What used to be a $120 grocery bill is now $200. The only people I've seen getting raises are the ones who were making lower than $20/hour. $20/hour is the new minimum wage it looks like. This has become painful.
CMP because domestic lithium bandwagon. I like a synergy with their current Great Salt Lake salt extraction, price dropped because cut dividend and invest in lithium extracting facility. My long term worry is that lake dry to much.
