How to profit off of the special operation in Iran?

CRAK is the play

Mentions:#CRAK

Everyone busy fangirling over USO and ignoring CRAK. The US hasn't built a crude oil refinery since 1977. Not a lot of places to turn the currently supply constrained stuff into actual useable product for your lifted Dodge Ram Big Horn edition.

Mentions:#USO#CRAK

Going long $CRAK is the sleeper play on this oil shock bullshit. The USA hasn't built a new crude refinery since 1977. Leave the futes and $USO plays for the insider bigs.

Refiners are the sneak play. Long CRAK

US, too... go long CRAK. Not even trying to make a joke. We haven't built a crude refinery in the states since 1977.

In this environment, energy producers and infrastructure are a good safe hedge. There are companies that operate the energy infrastructure like a toll-booth. Whatever the price of energy is, they get a cut. So their stock price rises on bad news surrounding the strait of Hormuz. Energy producers like COP, CVX, VLO, FANG, CRAK Energy infrastructure tollbooth like KMI, AEP, WMB, EPD This strategy should help counter any losses you’ll get in the tech sector for the next coming months.

I invested in a bunch of domestic refiners a few weeks ago and am up 10%, but those gains may be diminishing around now (vlo, dino, pbf, mpc, and xom - or CRAK for a refiner etf). My thought was, even if oil comes to the market and keeps a lid on prices, the 4% of global refining capacity in the Middle East that was bombed ain’t coming back any time soon, so refiners are going to enjoy high margins on their products. For example: if a refiner is using WTI as their input at $98bbl, gas at the rack is $3.14/gal and diesel is $4.20/gal, that yields a 3-2-1 crackspread (3 barrels of crude in general produces roughly 2 barrels of gasoline and 1 barrel of diesel, 43 gallons per barrel, is a current crack spread of $48/ or more than double what it was prior to the war.

I bought a couple grand worth of CRAK today, that bombed global refining capacity ain’t coming back any time soon no matter how much SPR we release

I just went all in on CRAK. Everybody is talking about oil. No one is talking about the 3-4% of global refining capacity that’s been bombed and won’t return for a loong time, thus expect high fuel prices regardless of crude oil costs and healthy crack spread margins.

In bull markets everyone gets a turn. That’s why understanding rotation and learning to adapt are so important. Remember how bad healthcare looked for so long? It felt like it underperformed forever. And with it Biotech stocks were left for dead. Now healthcare is one of the strongest groups in the market- and Biotech stocks are leading the way. Take a look at this three-month performance chart of U.S. indexes and sectors Equal-Weighted Biotech ETF (XBI) and the Market-Cap-Weighted Biotech ETF (IBB). If everyone gets a turn eventually energy will get its turn. Oil Refiners ETF (CRAK), which just finished October with its highest monthly close in history. Energy Sector ETF (XLE) - similar setup, but still stuck at the same levels it was back in the summer of 2008. I think it’s time will come. To survive in the market you have to adapt, or go extinct.

Here is a link for all of Reddit to see what Uranium did last week. Down even lower than the S&P 500. [https://finance.yahoo.com/sectors/energy/uranium/](https://finance.yahoo.com/sectors/energy/uranium/) [https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/CRAK/](https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/CRAK/) All sectors were down including Alaskan based precious metals. You absolutely lost money last week, but if it makes you feel better we will pretend you made money.

Not my expertise but refiners looks like the weakest section of the industry to me, judging from the CRAK etf. I also had XLE until a month or so ago, but while its up 3.5% for the past month, 3.92% was from yesterday. You have more longterm patience with oil than me, so sticking with it could pay off for you. For me tho, since Russia invaded, oil has just been a short term tactical tool and other niches look better to me currently.

Tom Lee mentioned OIH on CNBC that it can reach $700 plus next year, options would be great if you can time it which is really hard with the way it swings. Shares might be the way and hold it with the red days that the market gives, it’s definitely volatile. I was looking at FRAK & CRAK by VanEck as well but it seems like OIH is the focus which is fine by me

FANG is good. CRAK is possibly a better play on refining. The refineries should do really well as the amount of gas that's needed will grow for the whole year possibly. The need for aircraft fuel will greatly increase after that. On the Covid trade, it's close to being over in my opinion, but if it gets stronger look for a stock that all the huge funds like. For banking GS doesn't have to deal with people not being able to pay rent. All the financing for the big companies will pay huge as the interest rates rise. All their investments in IPOs will be very fruitful. I wish you well.
