You make some solid points, but I think there are a few things worth pushing back on here. The Bull case does have merit, Superior UI matters, the ESPN deal is legitimately valuable for brand reach, and 40% revenue growth while turning profitable is impressive. No argument there. But a few concerns: Their competition isn't just Polymarket and prediction markets. FanDuel is actually the market leader in most states, not DraftKings. The real battle is DKNG vs FLUT (Flutter, which owns FanDuel), and FanDuel has been consistently taking market share. The prediction market stuff is noise, you're right that it's a different product and regulatory structure. But FanDuel is the actual threat. The 2x P/S looks cheap until you consider profitability trajectory. Yeah they're profitable now, but sports betting is a brutal margin business. Customer acquisition costs are insane, states keep raising tax rates, and you have to spend heavily on promos to retain users. Being "the most profitable ever" is good, but what are the actual margins and can they sustain them as competition intensifies? The Robinhood comparison is interesting but flawed. Robinhood ran because crypto went parabolic and they had payment for order flow printing money. What's the catalyst for DKNG to 3-4x from here? More states legalizing? Most big states are already live. User growth? It's slowing. Margin expansion? Hard to see with rising taxes and customer acquisition costs. Regulatory risk is real. You mentioned states like the tax revenue, which is true. But states also keep RAISING those taxes because gambling companies have no leverage. Illinois just hiked rates massively. Other states are watching. Every time a state raises the tax rate, it hits margins directly. I'm not saying you're wrong. 21K shares is a big position so clearly you have conviction. But the path to $100+ requires either multiple expansion (why would P/S go from 2x to 5-6x?) or massive earnings growth that I'm not sure the business model supports given competitive and regulatory pressures.

I started selling puts on DKNG today. IV rank is high. Bottom of its trading range. drop today is overreaction to the NBA probe. DKNG also made an acquisition into the prediction markets with Railbirds. Similar arguments could be made with FLUT as they are the largest dominant brand in the space but I don't love trading trading tickers that are 3 figures, makes my position sizing all wacky (current account is too small).

That prediction market bearcase for DKNG and FLUT is interesting. You dont know the state by state revenue breakdown for the prediction markets. It just total contracts. It makes it so you dont know if this is eating massive market share into the sportbooks. Or even more importantly how much in state taxes or being taken away which might anger the state Governments to sue them. Time will tell DKNG/FLUT dont really have positive sentiment. HOOD probably more popular.

OP, I was curious to your question as well...... ....so, I've got to ask: wtf are you talking about? [DKNG's latest IS](https://imgur.com/a/BlxSsCJ) shows positive earnings for the L3M and L6M. To add further insult to injury, they also [generated positive operating cashflow over the L6M](https://imgur.com/a/ECbMiwq) Same goes for [FLUT's IS](https://imgur.com/a/yYED3KU), showing positive earnings for the L3M + L6M, while also doing the same for the corresponding periods in 2024. Looking at their SCF they generated positive [OCF over L6M, for both 2024 and 2025](https://imgur.com/a/HXxVOCT) Dude, do you just....not know how to read an income statement or statement of cash flows?! >Can someone explain how something legal in person in Vegas is profitable, but not online. Assuming this isn’t ai Gen, at least it’s a discussion of the detailed merit of a stock, which is somewhat lacking around here lately. As someone who traded DKNG and FLUT for gains, I have views on the generic situation. These gambling stocks don’t always respond to the sport season cycles how one would expect, and the hyped life-changing expectations for sports gambling ventures in UK and elsewhere didn’t pan out. There’s a narrative that the only stocks to own are the big two or three. I recently took gains on DKNG but won’t be surprised if it surges during football season. I will consider trying to swing trade it if dips shortly before the next time(s) legislation in the big states could be imminent. For your stock, what are some of the credible and conservative valuations/PTs? And what about ongoing lawsuits?

Mentions:#FLUT#DKNG
r/wallstreetbetsSee Comment

I'd put gambling stock puts on your radar (DKNG, FLUT, etc.). The Senate added a provision in the bill that only up to 90% of gambling losses can offset gains. For example, if you broke even on 1000 total wagered, you will have 1000 in gains and 1000 in losses but only 90% of those losses will offset. So for tax purposes they'd see a 100 gain to add to taxable income. So you'd basically pay the federal government taxes even though you didn't actually earn any real income. If you're already lose 10% more than you win then you won't notice anything, which accounts for a majority of gamblers. but the whales and high volume bettors are likely to rethink how they do things. This the first major sentiment at the federal level to tighten up the OSB market. Further, states where online sportsbetting is legal are starting to up the taxes and rethink some of the nuances of the industry and what kinds of gambling should and shouldn't be banned. A few years ago the outlook for the OSB industry looked great but it seems lately and moving forward the walls are closing in such that it will be very difficult to meaningfully realize the originally juicy outlook.

The sports gaming market is pretty dominated by Flutter (parent company of FanDuel) and DraftKings. MGM looked like they might capture a real 3rd place at the start but dropped the ball. I think Fanatics is the only small player that could grow and own a decent chunk of the market, but FanDuel and Draftkings have won. iGaming is something that gets talked about less commonly and is showing some really wild numbers. I assume you know, but for sake of convo, iGaming is basically just online casino - e.g. card games, slots, craps on your phone or computer. Not only the size but the growth and profitability of this is mind blowing; and the race to own it more interesting. MGM does have a solid hold there, as do DKNG and FLUT. These are businesses that cost absolutely nothing to sell more/onboard customers. As the markets grow, the revenues with grow at no additional cost in terms of creating the good. Most of the cost will be spent on advertising, trying to capture market share of newly legal markets. Obviously spend will go into developing and researching new products, but there is not additional cost for the current businesses to sell more and more of the product. Great operating leverage business with massive tailwinds and already over performing demand where it is available.

It was a situation of a headline without an article. I bought asked questions later. With more info it seems a Senator isn't happy DKNG/FLUT control 90% of the market. So it seems like if true isnt that good for DKNG/FLUT. If not and DKNG can make the case they have no moat which many on this sub and market may already believe then the case goes nowhere.

FLUT/DKNG profitability can swing based on things out of their control. Due to how much sports betting makes up their revenue. DKNG reports this week so instead of looking at the past you will have new info. The problem is what if DKNG earnings end up being good. You could have a PLTR situation and stock is up 10-20%. And would be saying the same valuation complaints except stock is higher than before the earnings report.

r/stocksSee Comment

I guess the issue in my mind is valuation for FLUT/DKNG, both are at least 30 fwd pe, sub < 1% fcf yields. MGM 11 fwd pe, 12% fcf yield... so its certainly the contrarian hated play here. VICI is interesting too, odd turn of events that MGM did that but with their existing debt load I guess it makes sense

r/stocksSee Comment

Yea. I was thinking FLUT or DKNG was a better buy. FLUT has better international exposure. DKNG is the better pure play in US. A less upside option is owning VICI a REIT that controls the real estate of a lot of MGM properties. Hopefully the MGM trade works out.

r/stocksSee Comment

Depends on how you define gambling sector... For the Las Vegas strip, then yes for sure they are the leader I would argue atm with just how many of the top resort casinos they own on the main strip... For iGaming/online sports betting I would say they are 3rd to FLUT/DKNG

Mentions:#FLUT#DKNG
r/wallstreetbetsSee Comment

I am with this 100%. The event derivatives court ruling opens up the door for HOOD to become a proxy prop bet shop (sports bets, horse race, oscars, grammys, etc). Was hoping they would at least drop a slight hint at it during the earnings call (slight mention of expanding into other "event markets). But I took the dip to scoop some $25 call LEAPS and lotto ticket calls for Jan 2025 (just in case). I may also grab some puts on DKNG (FLUT has limited volume) as things go longer without an announcement from HOOD/their current event betting test goes. If HOOD gets into sports betting...that's a huge blow to traditional sports books (it's allowed in all states and the taxation is more advantageous for winnings).

DKNG can't possibly do those buybacks though. Or anything even remotely close to it. FLUT can manage it because theve 9bn of revenue from the rest for the world which is in its optimized returns phase, while the US is now in profit to the tune of half a billion. DK is barely breakeven in the US and has zero revenue elsewhere whatsoever. It's completely overleveraged. This is simply a case of the US market, somewhat recreational, vastly overestimating an existing stock over an apparent newcomer they know little about

Mentions:#DKNG#FLUT#DK

I think it is a market cap thing. FLUT at 46B market cap. DKNG at 19B. It takes less to pump DKNG 6% than it would FLUT. Market also forward looking and maybe think DKNG doing a buyback could have more impact as well with their smaller market cap.

Mentions:#FLUT#DKNG
r/stocksSee Comment

That's exactly what it is. The American market is so fkin odd and inefficient that a company 5 times more successful than DKNG announced massives buybacks and somehow DKNG pumps more than FLUT. Makes absolutely no sense For clarity, DKNG are about breakeven right now. FanDuel (FLUT) are profitable already. Outside of America, FLUT are market leaders in basically every important region making record profits. The whole thing makes no sense. Fucking sell DKNG and buy FLUT

Nah I've been waiting for the payout. It's been 3 weeks since the deadline. I don't know how long something like this takes. I also don't understand the fees that the bank is charging. They are the ones that offered the ADRs and they are the ones that terminated them. Flutter and Robinhood have nothing to do with it. They could easily exchange them for FLUT shares and if they charge fees to do that they should waive them. Now they are dragging their feet on the sale proceeds.

Who is your broker? The shares should have been delivered by JPM to DTC participants (ie your broker or your broker's clearing firm). I don't see how contacting the DTC will help you. If the shares were moved to the transfer agent - maybe that's where they are. If there was not a mandatory conversion to FLUT shares - that would imply that the depository would sell shares to cover ADS which are not surrendered - in that case - you should get proceeds of that sale. But I would expect proceeds to be deposited into your brokerage account. Quite possibly - that doesn't happen for some time. Does your broker have a corporate actions desk that you can speak with? Maybe try calling and asking if you can speak with your broker's corporate action desk.

I use ESPN Bet, and so do other people I know. Their UI isn’t as smooth as Fanduel, but it’s better than MGM/Caesars/Wynn. They offer some markets and parlay options that other books don’t have too. They also have the 3rd largest daily active user base behind Fanduel and DraftKings. They lost money on ESPN Bet because they had more people sign up than they expected, so their marketing expense was higher (bet $5 get $150 promo), in the long run I think that’s a good thing. They’re also supposed to launch a new espn app before the 2024 NFL season with fantasy/betting integrated. I don’t think the average consumer would know or care that they were once affiliated with Barstool. ESPN is a household name, and should help them gain users in new locations. About half of the US has not legalized online sports gambling, so the market is only going to get bigger. They have a lot of debt, but have been investing. I’m personally high on all of the online books (FLUT, DKNG, PENN) because the market is growing and people can use multiple books.

r/stocksSee Comment

For DK, you talk about the industry rather than the company. What makes it a better play than its rivals like FLUT? Also, worth mentioning that California absolutely smacked it down like 86/14 or something last time it was on the ballot. It’ll be up again, with new messaging, but still important context.
