GAP has been struggling since 2019, they can't seem to figure out what they want to be. If anything, they should just keep old Navy and bring in Gap stores within and Banana Republic is trying too hard being something it use to be but now with furniture. Athleta seems like a solid concept but with Lululemon and Alo as big competitors, they really need to make it work.

They should have just kept their mouth just about tariffs like ANF did. Most clothing is coming primarily out of China, India and Pakistan, and Vietnam. Majority is China and India though. And according to what someone said earlier, GAP sources less than 10% of product from China. So it’s just funny seeing the difference in earnings from ANF and GAP considering their products are most likely made in the same exact factories.

I’m over indexes and their etfs. I made up my losses on SPX/SPY from the last two weeks just on ULTA and GAP options. I was hoping for a trifecta with COST but alas, it’s basically flat. Theta gonna eat my butthole just a lil on that one in the morning 😂
They’re also closing 350 stores nationally and will be trying to refresh their image and if you look into their fundamentals across their brands they’re a dying company. Banana Republic is a shell of the company it was circa 2005. As is GAP. I don’t know that they will exist in a couple years.

Sorry dude, I told myself last week I was done playing earnings since I'm 0-12. Made good profits this week on boomer investing value shares, so figured I'd throw in some profits to BBW...changed my mind and went with GAP calls. The universe simply does not want me to play earnings. Not even seeing any bad news with GAP earnings.. just goes to show it's all a coin toss

GAP actually lessened their manufacturing and sourcing exposure to China the past few quarters. Which is why analysts are optimistic about GAP's growth despite other retailers being hit recently.

And could they have possibly given me strong insurance options to mitigate or reduce GAP risk/movement? The general public doesn't quite understand the magnitude of advancement that NVIDIA has. NVIDIA provides a platform for training that is at least 5-10 ahead of any competitor. If NVIDIA stopped innovating, then maybe I would be concerned, but they haven't. Also, this isn't even a competitor. it's to fill in the GAP caused by the export restrictions, which is already priced into the earnings. But this is what happens when the majority of people who invest in NVIDIA do not understand the underlying tech.
On NOW, I would wait for a pull back to the POC since it now has a doji and skipped over the orders at 836 leaving that massive GAP. Nice play if you got it though.
Okay but the real question is who gets hit the hardest with the loophole close, and on what timeframe? I doubt we will see any movement from AMZN or WMT (maybe 2-3%) but nothing crazy. Any strategies for real lev raged long term plays? Like I’m thinking maybe a q3 GAP or AE play but then again f the whole economy’s in the shitter no one’s buying those clothes either.
