Eh, I have a bunch of AMD stock that I've owned for 9 months. I kinda want to sell it since there are better bets I could be making with that money, but I'm 3 months away from those turning into long positions for tax purposes. I'm 70% confident that that money could make more in GTLB, SNOW, or even SPY calls, but if I'm wrong then... that would really suck.

Earnings reports are about forward guidance and meeting existing expectations. If projections said they were going to have a massive improvement from the last earnings report, then that will be priced in already, and price movement from earnings will be primarily based on real performance vs. projected performance and crucially forward guidance. This is why GTLB fell after earnings even though they beat their earnings projections: due to their forward guidance during earnings which suggested that their growth would slow in the next quarter.

Well I started the year with most my gains coming from PATH, GTLB, PLTR, and MARA. But I concentrated a lot into MSTR and CAVA about a month ago.
Why do you think that the stock should be higher? At 9bn valuation - it seems like GTLB is at a premium. Especially if compared to HCP.
Its a pretty common investment strategy but I look for companies that have large moats. Functional monopoly on search and diversified into growing arenas of AI, Media, Cloud. I honestly believe google will be a true benefactor of any AI related profit (if there is any). Also there facial recognition tech (project nimbus) partnered with AMZN is dope. The tech giants could easily enter into more military projects. **Google** was the most recent opportunity. I put 10% of my port into it from 136->133. Functional U.S. duopoly **DE** \- 4% bought the earnings sell off at 364 **CAT -** 4% bought the earnings sell off at 330 **PFE** \- 6% bought at 26.. dividend was 6%.. which is better than a MM. They made so much money from COVID and have an endless pipeline for pharma. Nothing special in the pipeline here in terms of huge sellers like the weight loss pills. Not looking for huge upside here but something in the range of mid 30's. Primarily a stable stock at this price. I'm currently looking at PANW, COST, SNOW, and GTLB. GTLB (PT 50 )and SNOW (PT 148-154) - Very speculative purchases if i make them. I think GTLB has a chance of being bought out. It's a critical software in a lot of companies with some really incredible integrations. SNOW - Needs more research but I think the news of the CEO stepping down is overblown. PANW - Needs more research. I know its PE is high, however from the little knowledge i have its a critical firewall software that my fortune 500 company leans on aggressively. It's been around for a long time. I need to get a better understanding of possible competitors within Zscalar, CRWD, Cisco.

20% earnings moves happen all the time. I was in GTLB the other day and cashed out almost 20% in profit in 10 minutes. I only shorted $5k in shares, though. Had I done $500 in puts they wouldn't have printed much either, as IV was like 250%+, and I can cover my short shares position AH vs waiting for market open on options, but still I would have made $1500-$2k on $500 in puts.

Smci really screwed the uptick of all stocks. Ai stocks have been rocketing up and as soon as er hits and future earnings don't add a billion they fall. Earnings are predicting the future and that consensus continues to equal flat earnings so the stocks get beat down. Nividia picked the market up so I am guessing no matter what the tech sector earns if it is not an extra billion the stock will fall. So I will pray CRWD goes green today so I can get out before earnings. GTLB quickly went south and I got out before it's big shit. When the media keeps saying bubble then we have to watch our money like a hawk because the big boys will decide to dump it all in one day and we will be left behind.

The crux of the analysis was also based on some calls pretty far out. That, and the fact that GTLB has popped two of the last three ERs gave me sufficient pause on this one. I started off long, but hedged with combo of buying put/selling OTM covered call. It's a strategy that's worked decently well for me whenever option prices get frothy like this. We'll see if it stays down at open tomorrow, should have a nice little profit if so.

Got in really early for $85 calls expiring in April. I’m up 250% sold 2/3 of my contracts for a 14k gain that I used most on GTLB 
I sold the GTLB right before closure as well. I did a bit of analysis on it and didn't see anything worthwhile so I just pulled out. I just checked. Holy shit it was the right choice. Maybe it's a good play longterm but I wanted to play on earnings and decided not too.
Messed it up with GTLB though, not bad, just 1 call option. Future looking good.

Yeah I'm really wary on CRWD. I think MDB could radically surprise to the upside if their customer counts are increasing for further database (esp AI related) workloads, but other than that, cloud has been poor. And I don't think MDB will trade well regardless after seeing the other names and GTLB today.
