What we thinking about GTLB and PANW
[$GTLB](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/1tr970d/weekly_earnings_thread_61_65/op5vaq8/)
I bought GTLB at $70 and sold at $20
CIEN, cieg, or GTLB
I sold GTLB after IV expanded but still have it at $37 x3; I have 1 / 3 HPE calls still going (closed the other two this afternoon oh well); AVGO; 2x IOT
cool, so i get cooked on my HPE, GTLB, and IOT?
yes i am loading up on GTLB, especially because I see no one on this sub/thread talking about it
GitHub having tons on reliability issues lately my GTLB calls are looking good
GTLB and RBRK just green every day since ChatGPT told me to buy them last week except I didn’t
I bought my stonks for today, $NOK and $NOW, and still holding $GTLB through earnings. I’m going back to sleep for a bit, hope I wake up rich.
$GTLB can’t believe you guys are still sleeping on this.
wait, GTLB is a generational play here. Look at the chart.
More calls on GTLB as well as NTAP (this one due to what Jensen said during his keynote along with HPE tomorrow )
GTLB had been doing great. Im up 115% on my calls
GTLB is printing. CEO buying a ton of shares. Gonna be good
GTLB might be an interesting call option up 46% this month
You guys are sleeping on GTLB.
Github has had incidents every day this week and you guys still aren't buying GTLB for earnings on Tuesday. Github is being crushed by the massive influx of agentic coding. Gitlab is surely experiencing the same, so their products that are billed via consumption (eg pipeline runners) are going to see a big uptick in revenue. Unknown if it's going to be enough to move the stock, but they're so beat down that some news like this might send it. It seems others agree, it's been steadily going up all week. Position: 1000 shares. Looking at 6/18 $30c as well, but it got away from me before my order filled.
If we are rotating from semis to software here's apparently the play: **Conservativ**e: MSFT, NOW, PANW **Aggressive:** CRWD, PLTR, DDOG **Speculative**: GTLB, SNOW
Sure. There's several reasons I like it 1) like this post says, context is valuable. For many companies, the context Gitlab provides is their company's code. Tough part of this is monetizing it. 2) It's down on seat compression fears. Some of that is valid with tech layoffs, but part of my bet is that they'll end up selling more seats because of AI, not less. The argument here is that with AI, anyone can't code. I've seen it at my own company, people are using AI to generate code to help them do their jobs. Right now, this code is probably mostly sitting on people's laptops, but I think eventually companies will push for it to be somewhere like Gitlab. This push to get it in Gitlab could come from security (they want code somewhere they can scan it), could be Ops (if they need to deploy it), software (if they need to help maintain it), or management (when the code becomes important to the business, they won't want it sitting on a single employees laptop). When they do, I'm hoping they'll hand out more Gitlab seats to these employees that are vibe coding. 3) They are well positioned to be a higher-level governance and control layer for coding agents. Right now, developers are using agents mostly on their own devices to help them write code. They're using things like Claude Code, Kiro, CoPilot, etc. Gitlab is well positioned to move that up a layer and have coding agents ran/controlled at a higher level. Instead of running just at the laptop level for a single developer, they run in Gitlab and can be controlled, monitored, orchestrated at this level, which gives the company more visibility into what they are doing, as well as control. I think this point makes them a potential acquisition target by a company like Amazon or Anthropic. It sort of seems like Staples (CEO) was hired to sell the company, not run it. I think if he is going to sell it'll happen soon, maybe even on the 2nd. But even if an acquisition doesn't happen, they are in a good spot here, and moving towards this allows them to also start shifting from seat-based to consumption based pricing 4) Github has been struggling lately. Their uptime is like 85% in the last several months. I'm sure companies might be looking to switch. 5) The value is insane. It's a very asymmetric bet. I don't think they can realistically trade much lower then they are. They're sitting on $7 a share in cash. They're on-prem customers are worth $10 a share, and these customers are very very sticky, many of them can't move to GitHub, because they can't be in the cloud. So right now growth and their cloud business covers the remaining $6 a share. And this is for a company growing at at least 15% a year with great margins. Even if my thesis doesn't hold, I just don't see it going too much lower. TLDR: stock is cheap, AI helps GTLB, not hurts (like the market thinks), because Jevons Paradox.
Can you explain the argument for GTLB? I told my friend to dump it today.
I bought c on NOW, GTLB, PATH. If the AI agent narrative expands, they benefit. If the narrative breaks, they benefit even more.
Software actually getting another nice day, currently holding: OPRA, SNPS, RBLX, GTLB, DT, SNOW - wish I had DDOG lol
Nice. It was on my list of SaaS companies to open positions in but I ended up going with NOW, VEEV, IOT, GWRE, and GTLB (RIP, closed that one at a loss when their non-cRPO came in at 2%).
well, I did mention GTLB
GTLB hungry af. Went to 24 yesterday after hours
Look where GTLB went to in AH yesterday
lottttta space above in the GTLB chart
Take a look at GTLB. I honestly feel bad for people who bought in the 40’s. Under $20 is insane
Software starting to diverge Losers: TEAM CRM ADBE GTLB Winners: WIX U
Holding WRD, TTD, GTLB. Waiting to slowly buy into the MAG7.
GTLB green?? It feels like the first time in weeks lol
Every software company is getting railed. Look at GTLB. It’s been consistently in the $35-50 range for a long time and now it’s being aggressively sold off. $20 is fkn nuts.
To anyone that is continuing to short GTLB, I hope you get fucked in a back alley. Disgusting amount of manipulation.
I genuinely feel bad for GTLB (Gitlab) shareholders - this is an EXTREME overreaction and selloff.
How is $GTLB's price action, either today or over the last 4 months, fair or explainable at all?
Not going to lie, GTLB dying so fast like this is crazy. $20???
Everyday I wake up and see GTLB plunge. Literally going to 0.
Someone save GTLB. How the fuck do you plunge $25 in 3 months lol
Any GTLB (Gitlab) shareholders out there? All time stock low. Beat last earnings. I wonder how much lower this can go before a bounce.
Seriously GTLB is so beaten down, there’s literally no bottom or support. It’s never been this low lol
GTLB was at $73 this time last year. Jesus
GTLB filing for bankruptcy?? Revenues are up but it's down 50% in 3 months, damn.
ngl, i get the hype around Anthropic, but i'm a bit cautious with GTLB right now. like, sure they have solid revenue, but a 60% drop is no joke. it's wild how the market reacts to new tech. i mean, they still have a strong product, but the sentiment is all over the place. what’s your plan if it keeps dipping? are you holding long-term or looking for a bounce?
GTLB acting like it's going bankrupt. $23 is criminally low.
GTLB going to zero or what....
GTLB at $23 is criminal. Posted solid earnings. I wouldn’t be surprised if he hit $50 again by EOY.
VSCO, GTLB, CELH with their amazing earning but poor guidance and the stocks crater. Imma jumping in one of them if it craters more.
I like B2B SaaS. Platforms, not applications. TEAM, FIG, GTLB, etc. The market is scared of the vibe-coding taking over, and it might take over the last mile apps, but not the plumbing / platforms / data - in fact it will make the platform plays that much more important and in demand as more people will be vibe-coding front ends to them.
If you buy software calls in this stage, then you are regarded. Same goes for GTLB, easy put money
Of all earnings play yesterday I chose GTLB 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
GTLB at $23 is a buy.
GTLB at $31 for me looks and feels awful right now
how much money am I loosing on my GTLB puts chat
GTLB? Absolute garbage. More like GTFO
GTLB ER unfortunately does not look good. CRWD does look quite good. IV flush potential tomorrow
whole world is expecting GTLB to tank because its software. so naturally it will either theta or moon. rules of the (rigged) game.
FWIW, I work with engineers but I run QA. I thought it'd be a beneficiary of AI. If AI is writing even more code, I figured enterprises would need GitLab's DevSecOps platform even more to test, secure, deploy, manage, etc. AI shouldn't replace GitLab. It should multiply the need for their workflow infrastructure. Of the five SaaS positions I opened during the SaaSpocalypse (GTLB, NOW, VEEV, IOT, and GWRE), GTLB is definitely on the thinnest ice now.
Interesting. Yeah, just always curious, since like the repo's feel so no sticky and from my experience, some of the bigger companies like Amazon, just host their own internal repos or everyone have just switched to GitHub. Been working professionally for over 10+ years and never worked somewhere that actually uses GTLB.
No position, but curious why on GTLB? I think you mentioned you also do software engineering, just feels like a weird product, to invest in a repo company.
u/AluminiumCaffeine GTLB non-cRPO grew 3% y/y. It was 114% in 2022, 16% in 2023, 92% in 2024, 52% last year. Now... just 3%. Yikes. Total RPO growth y/y was 16%. The lowest prior to that was 40%.
Calls on GTLB is the move thank me later
Risking my anoos on GTLB
Yep, and CRWD. For GTLB, the thing I'm most looking at is RPO. I want to see non-cRPO growth. Show me long-term deals being signed because that'd be a huge green flag that SaaS companies don't think GTLB can be even slightly replaced by AI in the next 3-5 years.
GTLB after the bell tonight, fingers crossed
I bought too early on GTLB, NOW, VEEV, and IOT as well but I also added as they fell and am green on all but GTLB now.
WBTN Calls, GTLB Puts
RBRK, GTLB, DDOG/DT are my picks mostly
GTLB upvote for calls, downvote for puts
GTLB gang! One Green Day for every ten red
GTLB/SE report tomorrow, will be very curious they are two of my worst losers this year so far
GTLB is a tough one; it’s been murdered for weeks. TGT puts??
Cathie Wood deep underwater in it, should be all you need to know. If thats not enough, look at one-stop-shop AI coding tools wrecking the bajeezus out of all traditional coding platforms. GTLB is ded bro.
Will get some pretty important information from some SaaS companies next week. CRWD, VEEV, GTLB, IOT, and GWRE all reporting for me.
ASTS puts, BBAI puts, TGT calls, CRWD puts, GTLB calls, RGTI puts, CBRL puts, VSCO puts. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Here's a financial analysis summary of GTLB from the Stockunlock website... could explain why it is in a downtrend... seems the management is at the trough... GitLab is losing money across all key return metrics, meaning it's not generating profit from its investments, equity, or assets. Extremely high stock-based compensation, especially at 86% of free cash flow, heavily dilutes shareholder value.
i’m a software engineer and i kinda feel like GTLB at \~$24 is being ignored right now. it’s boring in a good way: subscription SaaS, high-80s gross margins, sticky recurring revenue. and their NRR has held up, which to me is the biggest “are customers actually getting value?” signal. the part i like is the *consolidation* angle. gitlab isn’t “just a repo.” it’s basically the whole devsecops workflow in one product: planning → code → CI/CD → security scanning → deploy. and i keep seeing companies get sick of paying for + integrating 5–6 different tools (jira + github + circle + sonarqube + snyk + whatever). whether they like it or not, consolidation is happening. also gitlab being the default devops platform on google cloud feels underrated. that’s distribution straight into real enterprise buyers, and gcp has been gaining share for a while now. financially they’ve been showing more operating leverage and FCF has been trending the right way. stock is still way below the highs even though revenue growth hasn’t fallen off a cliff. obviously not risk-free. github/microsoft is the 800lb gorilla and if enterprise spend tightens, these kinds of names get hit. but at \~$24–30, this isn’t “2021 SaaS fantasy land” pricing anymore. and they’ve got like \~$1B cash on the balance sheet, which buys a lot of runway.
I thought starting a position in GTLB at $30 was a good buy. Absolutely getting smoked
Ah this is why GTLB dumped
GTLB gonna make fresh lows... ouch. Some of my only sofrware exposure left - as a dev myself I think agentic coding is bullish GitHub and Gitlab, market clearly disagrees lol
There’s so many quality stocks in bear markets right now. Load up MSFT, FIG, SPGI, APP, GTLB, SLP, PGY, FLNC, QS. NFA
What is story on rubric. My top software companies are DDOG, SNOW and GTLB.
