They have run for the last 2-3 years as I have been long since Ukraine. There are 3 ETFs: ITA and PPA are mainly domestic plays and SHLD which has Palantir as a large holding and European defense contractors. RTX and KTOS have had great runs. But, I have not sold any shares. I also own KRKNS and VOYG which are plays on the next gen of defense. The other one own that I still think is a reasonable price is HII. While it has also had a run, they have been given many new contracts so the run is justified. They focus on the US navy. One other that is still cheap and a turnaround is Boeing. But they are only 50% defense. Good luck!

Because the thesis is pretty easy to understand with literally 5 minutes of research. Kraken is a pure play on the UUV (autonomous mini submarines) military and commercial trend. It also a proxy for Anduril’s sub sea (UUV) division. Reddit won't let me post the link summarizing why UUVs will be useful but long story short - UUVs have the potential to alter subsea warfare. (Surface fleet, attack subs, nuclear subs) Kraken supplies high capacity batteries and sensors for a bunch of defence companies building these UUV’s. Including - * Anduril * HII (US Navy shipbuilder) * Rheinmetall (Huge European Defence org) * Teledyne * Kongsberg (Norwegian Defence) This is massive validation that they are the leader in this tech. I would go as far as saying if any company is building a UUV there is good chance that Kraken’s battery or sensors are being used. * 59% Gross Margin * Profitable * Low debt * New factory coming online this year * Australian Navy has already committed to several Anduril UUVs There’s more to it but that's the crux

Little diversification in your holdings. Add some financials (MS a favorite), some defense (RTX, HII, BA) and cyber (CRWD). I own all of these so I put my money where my mouth is. But, to be fair, I am in at much lower prices.

European Defence Stocks are priced in largely. I have concerns that their prices are largely based on the presumption of future contracts, but thus far the firm contracts placed are nowhere near the commitments by nations. Therefore, I see a risk that on the conclusion of the Russian/Ukraine war some spending commitments are dialled back. You can see this in how European defence stocks drop everytime a ceasefire comes close. I think there may be some value in picking the right stocks after a post-war drop, and some uplift in defence spending will be maintained. Atm I have a couple of US defence stocks. I placed 8% of my port into HII this time last year on the basis of an overblown reaction to earnings and Trump pivoting to China where the USN is the primary combat arm. However I think it's verging on overpriced now. NOC has been slept on a little. I bought last summer when there was speculation over B2 strikes in Iran, which did happen. I like the fact they have a few catalysts coming up (B2 order increase, Sentinel contract restructuring, FA/XX). Some space involvement too. I have LMT and RTX on the watchlist, maybe if another shutdown happens end of the month. I'm sure 10 people will mention ONDS. I like and I've been in and out of the stock, but I expect dilution this year. Will buy in if it dips to $7.

Just started a war watchlist with HII at the top of the list

Agree on MSFT and can see TSM and neutral on META My core also includes CRWD for cyber, MS for financials, RTX and HII for defense I also have high growth plays of PLTR and HOOD Good luck!

As I noted in another thread a few weeks ago, I'm looking at military efficacy (ie. success of US platforms vs. Venezuelan/Russian defenses) and exhaustion of resources. It looks like this was a quick surgical strike (coup?) so we didn't get much of a signal on how different platforms have performed, but (based on the extended historic deployments in the ME), we can infer that there will be US troops deployed in LATAM for the foreseeable future. With that, I'm digging deeper into replenishment vendors - HEI (Heico) for aerospace (ie. maintenance on the jets and helos patrolling and delivering supplies, HII (Huntington Ingalls) for support ships; the big dogs LMT and RTX also have business units focused on support. With all that said though - given this looks like a naval deployment, the bet might be KBGGY (Kongsberg)? Still forming a thesis here...open to thoughts!

Idk. For my speculative portion of my account, I’m most heavily into gold LEAPS, and have been for some time. the US embracing rampant deficit spending while alienating our trade partners while threatening fed independence all make me want gold exposure. I also have call options on XOM, my hypothesis is that the US embargo on Venezuela may lead others to restrict the flow of shadow fleet vessels which currently move about 1M barrels of oil per day around the world, mainly squeezing Iran, Russia, and Venezuela, I think this could put upward pressure on oil in the coming months. I’m also invested in US shipbuilders (mostly HII) because it’s of vital national interest for us improve our shipbuilding capacity, especially now that we are destroying the global order that enabled globalization to dominate over the past 50 years. On the short side, I’ve got puts on dell, my thinking is that the explosion in RAM costs as chips are funneled into AI is going to hurt Dell earnings this spring. I’m thinking about getting so WAY out of the money puts on SoftBank bc their valuation is largely tied to the value of their holdings, and any bad AI news could lead to a dramatic drop in their asset values, which could trigger margin issues with their lenders, which could cause a precipitous decline in their share value. I’m still in the pre contemplative stage of this, as I’m typically not as good at profiting from the short side as I am the long. Plus, betting against AI in the midst of AI madness could be dicey. None of these are YOLOs, and I use about 10% of my portfolio for ultra-high-risk, speculative plays using derivatives. So buyer beware.

Riding the same sectors I had in 2025. Focus on select defense stocks( RTX, HII,, Ktos) cyber ( CRWD, Panw via cybr) tech (MSFT, google, Pltr,), financials(ms, hood, abl) and some cutting edge biotech stocks(CAI, ntra). Very rewarding 2025 up 30 to almost 50% in my accounts.

out of the major large caps - HII is interesting as they are winning contracts to build alot of ships and i have worked with GD, HII, nassco, BAE and other ship builders over the years. HII runs their ship yards better, (not faster) - but more efficient and better quality control. For the type of equipment i work on - i think raytheon (RTX) is making better electronic equipment now days than lockheed (LMT) (my opinion - based only on my equipment) all the govt defense suppliers are feeling pressure from government to produce equipment faster than ever before - the way it worked 20+ yrs ago is very, very different from what they do today i believe Raytheon is more likely to push back and say sorry we cannot create that product that fast. lockheed will just underbid them, and accept the fast timeline. then, they either send out a rushed product with glitches and kinks or they miss the deadline and cannot produce the equipment on time, and the whole process gets delayed. (this happens way too often now days) back in 90's and early 2000's - companies would bid to make a product at x price and be given adequate time to prove the product meets specs / battle ready/ long term durability....etc. now days once they win the bid - govt is forcing them to get products out to the fleet/soldiers and on to the front line faster than ever. its a change that is hard to explain to the top brass (admirals and generals) need to understand that this new way isnt working very well. i have tried so hard to get the meeting with the right person(s) who will listen to a crazy butthole but i dont have that level of influence at my current position. (i'm a tech, i fix stuff and teach young service members how to fix stuff) but i do attend alot of higher level meetings and throw these red flags out. but i have never really spent alot of time thinking or trying to overanalyze how it impacts stock price of companies like lockheed/raytheon etc - its something that is going to get fixed one way or another in time (and it might result in some companies losing money or losing contracts) (note i have to try to be relatively vague in this area because i dont want to touch on anything that could be "sensitive".)

HII is doing really well... I sold it too early again 🥲

CRWD, PANW - cyber is not optional and they are the best. Also, heading towards one stop shopping for customers to save on integration efforts. MS - 50% revenue from wealth management. As markets grow, so do their account fees with an excellent management team HOOD - the most innovative company out there and where the younger investor is going. And buying businesses that generate steady cash flows. PLTR - the best CEO in the business - love Karp and a fantastic product. You could wait for a pull back but from what price? Hope this helps! HII to play the American naval come back

It’s not going go up 2000% like ASTS, but I think HII, a US shipbuilder, is poised to benefit from the nationalization, similar to LAC and INTC. Long-term, state run businesses, tend to have less operational efficiency and competitiveness, but in the short-medium term may experience unusual appreciation in their share prices. This company has tight margins, relatively high debt, and are vulnerable to tariff-induced supply shocks, so buyer beware. This is a high risk, high reward play. Though HII is an $11B market cap company, so not the ultraturbo risk you see in nano cap or micro cap penny stocks.

I have been watching HII as well and have been thinking the exact same thing…US Navy needs a considerable rapid buildout of new ships to match Chinas growing Naval capabilities. Most of the sectors you talked about are irrelevant. There is enough capital in those industries to support capex. With just tax breaks and tariffs those industries are already restoring manufacturing capacity. The only pain points where the government has to heavily subsidize is Mining and refinement specifically rare earth elements, Shipbuilding. That's it. There isn't enough capital and margins/market to compete without subsidies. Shipyards/mining have the same issues and require massive subsidies to function. GD/HII have been getting billions of dollars for the industrial base for years there is zero play there (outside of long term holding for increasing revenue) All the new entrants are private companies and private equity companies there is zero way to capitalize on that. Mining is company and location specific. You need to do a ton of due diligence on each company. I focus on the suppliers of key industries. CAT and other heavy equipment manufacturers, railroads that are going to be moving these goods. Naval/shipbuilding. GE, CW, PH, LHX, LMT, RTX. Basically who make the engines, and equipment. Then who makes the weapons systems, weapons and radar for those ships. The suppliers/support companies have the margin and profit

Investors here don’t have the insight for things like national security issues. They can’t defend China having 5% tariffs for 30 years while the US had 1.5%, so it makes sense immediately after it’s turned on them they would come here bitching. Remember it was 10% before China clapped back with 15%. Do investors here understand the context of the previous tariffs being against non Chinese companies wanting to invest in China? Prob not. Do they understand that China sends missiles and intel to the Houthi’s and Russians, who send those missiles towards American ships? These guys got so shook by Trump it turned them commie. I fucking hate the guy and yet I can separate the bullshit. Cannot believe the average investor is THAT emotional. Good to know as a 26 year old.
