I dont think people understand what Robinhood is trying to do. They want people in Africa to have the ability to own shares. They sell them a microsoft token pegged at price with a .1% premium, use the token purchase to lock shares, and allow that person in africa to hold securities while Robinhood American HQ sits on the actual stock as collateral. The problem with integrating those into unified system is actually a fucking integration itself Everyone will develop their own systems, but essentially 3 countries know how to do proper fintech - sweden, nl and poland+baltics. As someone who worked at Nike at their Beaverton HQ for a few years around the peak stock price not long after the pandemic, nothing really to be done with a company that has such a bizarrely risk averse strategy and can only ever get its grip on gimmicks that don’t last long in terms of consumer interest (e.g., limited releases, oddly celebrity focused collaborations, hilariously stupid things like NFTs). L If you think big tech companies are bad with innovation sometimes, get a load of these guys in other business areas. Some of these companies (e.g., Nike) should just keel over and die.
I don't care about Nike, I just hate they have the forest adjacent to their HQ, which has some of the nicest areas to be outside in the suburban sprawl, patrolled by their wannabe security force who hassles anyone who even stops to gaze into the woods. Phil Knight is also a right wing dbag. Good riddance

I use them regularly but I've no idea how they make any money. They only charge £2-3 for delivery, to cover the warehouse, the warehouse picking staff, the driver and van that comes to my house (about 30 miles from the depot), and then all of the over overheads like HQ staff, insurance, and general admin costs. I don't believe they can make much on the actual groceries as margins on food produce are notoriously low, and pricing is fairly demand elastic as people will just go back to shopping themselves if prices are increased to far above the physical shops

I usually follow big game companies and invest whenever the core game IP hasnt changed, and buy on irrelevant drama. Gamers dont care about politics. Ive done some decent swing trading on this and have made money on companies like Activision/Blizzard. No one who plays WoW cares if the employees at Blizz HQ are drinking breast milk from the lunchroom fridge.

Good one! Their problem is, ironically, semiconductors. Because of the RAM/NAND supply problems, phone makers are making less phones, which means less QCOM chips. Their new laptop chips? Also nuked for the same reason. They have really failed to produce decent server chips, but they are trying. I used to dev on their platforms and have been in their San Diego HQ building several times to work with engineers. Their culture is really toxic. I have a lot of sympathy with their legal shenanigans though, because of how China/Taiwan works. Crazy industry. I used to live near the HQ, went to UO, been on a team sponsored by them. Everyones impression and sentiment for them has plummeted locally. It's like a failed fashion brand, you KNOW the shirt took 18.50$ to produce but they charge 85$. You buy for the name. Brands are making better for cheaper. They just hold on to their deals with players and their collectors market. I even hate them now, won't buy their stuff unless it's thrifted... But it's not usually high enough quality to get thrifted because it disintegrates over time.

If the states win then the bond would be returned in full, Paramount would have to pay WBD the break up fee (as increased by the ticking fee, if applicable) and Paramount would have to pay the costs and fees of the states. If the states are the cause for the delay then it only seems fair for them to pay Paramount’s costs for it if the states lose. Paramount argues in the motion that they need the bond posted because Paramount wanted it adjudicated before Thanksgiving and the states resisted the short timeframe and the actual trial has thus been scheduled for spring of 2027, during which the $7 million fee will accrue every single day beginning on September 30. Paramount further argues that because the states have sovereign immunity, if Paramount prevails it will have no remedy against the states leaving the bond as their sole source of recovery. The states will say they have a public interest in the matter and shouldn’t be required to post a bond. They will also argue Paramount waived the bond already by delaying the closing but Paramount argues they did that under the assumption they would receive a quick trial. I suspect this thing will settle before the September 26 court hearing and Paramount will announce that it is moving HQ out of California by next summer unless not moving is one of the conditions agreed to in the settlement.

Oracle moved its HQ from Texas to Tennessee to get some state tax breaks after moving from California to Texas If a corporation has to chase tax breaks like this, I start question the overall health of the company

I had this same thinking in mind and did some digging. Def seems like a SPAC play but it gets a little shadier. JFB HQ is located 8 miles from Mar A Lago. Eric Trump is highly invested in the merger so makes sense why. I find it difficult to believe that this isn't a back room Trump deal to get into a drone company, at a very low cost, that will likely start winning huge Gov contracts. I've been holding JFB for a few months and am down 50% in my position but will likely buy more to cost average. It's risky but agree with or not, most of the stocks tied to the Trump's have gone on huge runs. If you can't beat them, join them. Disclaimer: I believe this is a RISKY play and only about 3% of my portfolio is in this. I look at it like I do the casino, only spend what you'll be ok losing.

They want undervalued companies with less risk. Ford is on the up and up. Dividend was 6% when I bought in. Company is HQ’d in a purple state, so it has massive leverage. On the verge of reducing manufacturing costs by 50%. Most American brand.
