Your whole post feels like a blanket statement that completely overlooks their manufacturing capabilities, patents, lower launch costs, and ability to undercut all competition for government contracts (which is pretty much the only way to make money as a space business). As of mid-June 2026, the United States has successfully put approximately 78 rockets into orbit, with SpaceX accounting for about 69 of those launches. I honestly don't know how you look at that stat and think "oh that won't hold up in a year, pretty soon everyone will be launching rockets!" Again, IDGAF about Elon. But to act like they have no moat or competitive advantage is foolish.

Shoot for 55, so you have 23 years. That's a lot of time, but not too much. Understand that as you save a bigger portion of your income, you get used to living on less, so you need less to retire. Figure out something low cost but meaningful to do with your time. IDGAF about people eating fancy meals at restaurants. I never feel like I'm missing out on that, it's not important to me. Focus on life goals. Making art, family, service, physical activities, building a community, friends, learning etc. So many ways to live meaningfully that won't drain your bank account and actually set you up to retire well. Meanwhile, maximze your career to where you are earning as much as you can while not hating your job. Maximize your investments to the point where you are saving as much as you can without hating life. If you actually want to retire early you have look at what is really important to you and really design your life for that. Do not compare yourself to others. Often they are carrying massive debt. Yes, you can live that way, but it comes with its own set of stresses.
