I mean you had a similar but not identical setup in Y2K. The trade there was to wait for sector rotation. It became pretty obvious that small caps and home builders and metals and mining, oil and gas, shipping, all of that began to really work even as tech was blowing up and the S&p was going straight down Money doesn't evaporate, it rotates so if we are going to rotate they're going to be sectors to begin outperform. Financials have been doing exceedingly well. You look at asset Management like State Street and black rock, they have been holding up excellent. Home builders have begun to catch a bid. I think the iwm and ITB should be on everyone's watch list. If you start seeing these outperform, rotation could be at hand. Not happening yet but it would be something that I watch on a daily basis Last night applied materials reported, massive semiconductor manufacturing company, earnings were great, the problem was projections into the next quarter. If this resolves which is the current thesis, it's nothing more than a temporary slowdown as tariffs and the China trade are navigated. that brings up another thing, there is a healthy scenario where we have a broad market move higher rather than these isolated handfuls of stocks that everyone piles into

This is the most basically wrong view when trading. THE MARKET DOESNT CARE WHAT YOU LIKE OR USE!! IT MEANS NOTHING!! My naive BIL came into some money early this year and said "I'm going to invest in home building stocks because that's what I know about" ITB ... down 11% in three months ... I couldn't be happier ... what an idiot.

Ya’ll might look at housing- I added some ITB & HD. They are at pretty low levels & with 10 year being a strategic focus and mortgage rates falling housing should get a nice boost at some point. Considering the all time lows last couple years. Once these tariff threats pass it could rocket. Maybe not an immediate payoff but if you’re long and can wait..

1/3 in SOXQ, 1/3 in XLK, the rest in SPLG....if you're looking to get into real estate, spend the darn money on ITB and let other people deal with the headaches. Within 2 years, the home construction market will likely ride the lower interest rates up. Throw any leftover to Amazon, since they're down now.
Tell me why REIT's are about to flourish while home supply is at 28 year lows in terms of sales due to 85% of all current mortgages being refinanced or under 5%. Meanwhile Home builders etfs like XHB and ITB are at late 2023 prices. And commercial properties are at 50yr highs in terms of vacancy. I love a good contrarian play as much as the next person, but that market could take years, and I mean years to turn around. Though I would love to hear your bull case on REITs, considering its 50% of your portfolio

We have to see the sub-indexes, XLF, XLV, XLC, ITB, SMH start moving upwards again if we want this bulltrend to stay intact. It's interesting that the SPY closed higher than QQQ on friday, suggesting that we might start to see the market start to broaden out again. Which is a good thing.
That’s my thought as well. The talking heads have been saying they are waiting for 2025 for tax reasons. I doubt they expected the sell off Wednesday so yesterday the cape crusader swooped in out of nowhere and basically overruled Powells speech to save the day. I’ve given back a years gains on ITB and SCHD already in this “Bull Market”.

You just mentioned PAVE ITB IWM going higher. Net day they started selling off. ITB down 8%. Fed cuts rates and mortgage rates go higher by the amount that was cut. Explain that. TLT dumped 9 % after cuts. Explain that. This market is an inverse market for common sense.

ITB looks like a good entry points rn, with pretty definable risk. They are about as rare sensitive as it gets. I suspect the sold off a bit bc the market realized the data is too good to get another 50. But long term, I think it's a good spot to be. Long term meaning, the next year lol

Hey FTEC is an incredible fund. Consistently outperforms sp500 over many many years. Of course, it's aggressive. All-in tech. But seems like you want to speed things up so yea...good. The others are good but they are slow burners. Sp500 and total market. Those will do well, but you want something more aggressive I can see that. Ok here's two to consider. 1) SPMO. it's sp500 momentum fund. So it captures the trendy momentum plays. More risk but it does tend to give more reward. 2) ITB. homebuilders etf. There is a housing shortage and this thing is blasting off. Doubled the sp500 over the past 5 years. Probably will continue with 10s of millions of immigrants walking across

TOL is great, but if you have to ask the question, you would be better off with XHB or ITB or both. Homebuilding is a longterm winning industry and has short term positives, but no one company is a sure thing.
Do you follow BLDR or ITB? They react to rate cut signals biggly. Cool CPI and PCE send them flying high.

Hi all, I'm not investing at the moment. Have a few debt to clear before getting back into the market. Maybe a year from now when I can. Currently, I got my 401k and a traditional IRA a few years old but I paused everything. Anyways, I had a fun discussion with my wife about what we would invest in when the time comes. Something along the lines like "what do you believe in, if you had the money, to buy into (invest) that would benefit everyone?" (Not talking about charity and donations, wife got confused so don't want to confuse anyone else here) I gave her an example about myself. I would do medical devices such as ishares IHI. Because not only have I worked in that specific area of the market (worked in a couple of companies of this sector) but I do believe medical devices will not only be around for a long time but can help everyone. My wife thought about her answer for a good minute. Came up with "more affordable housing" or homes in general. I thought that was a great answer and thought of Ishares ITB and SPDR XHB. So, out of curiosity. What do you all invest in that you have a strong belief in? (Doesn't have to be like a good will thing, if you do it because it will make bank, more power to you)

Carry cash, like have some liquidity.. also SPY n NVDA will move together so you could trim those for some liquidity. Some reliable options are JPM, BLK, BRKB, XHB/ITB but there’s tons of good options. approx 80% of your port(.7 of spy and 4 of NVDA) follow eachother. Could trim either position to throw into another spot.

Homebuilders like DHI and the ITB are going to be absolute winners going into rate cuts. Mortgage rates are going down.
Made 20% on ITB and 15% on IWM. How’s that for falling for it. 
House builders are projected to perform better when rates are cut, while mega caps will loose some capital to smallers/mid caps. I will keep my money in S&P but stop buying a little and buy some ITB..
It is a tough call. Even if it is guaranteed that SP500 is overvalued we don’t know when it will “pop” and how well another ETF would do when that pop happens. Does the SP have another 10% upside you’d be missing out before a drop? Would ITB really drop less than the SP?
I am considering investing money in ITB, housing etf to relief this over exposure, because if AI bubble pops S&P ETFs will get hammered.

haha tldr is an accronynm for too long did not read XD. I am sorry that was a confusing choice on my part. I am invested at 50% ITB and 50% Nail. I am retired ill be watching this trade and reading the news all week. I will be evaluating my exit strategy this evening. Good luck.
