I started a 3 figure brokerage account, moved to 4, then 5 then 6 then 7 before selling and enjoying the spoils. Acting as if no one knows anything is why I managed to do what I did. Calling tops and seeing weakness is absolutely doable if you pay attention to the right things. Calling bounces, recoveries, rallies, sell offs is also doable. When you see insanity in markets like early 2021 with IPOs like Rivian doubling, tripling within weeks based on nothing - plus with macro economic conditions looking weak, feds responses likely to be hikes - you could see the writing on the wall. Picking stocks is also doable - saying no one knows anything is the weakest response to stock trading. Knowing whether a stock will hit $41 for sure is different than knowing a stock will move higher. The latter is very doable and if you spend time learning what moves stocks, you can make a lot of money. Feel free to look into my posting history on WSB and you’ll see me preach about holding Ionq,rklb,asts being the next big stocks - all of which were trading in the dollar range. Was I a genius? No. I simply did DD on the companies, future industries wallst hadn’t yet rated properly, chose who I thought would be winners, had a strategy to accumulate these stocks in a high rate environment with expectation of gains when rates started to fall. You can call it lucky, but then id point out that I did it again with stocks like LAES, NRGV, APLD. Did i have failures? Yes. Did i know how to manage those failed picks? Yes. Stocks like EMRK or LAZR failed badly but because I had experience with the market, many failing stocks get squeezed these days before collapsing. Even though EMBK is no longer solvent, i made 3x my money on it. LAZR was a failure that I lost 50% on, from my shares, but if we include my option gains, I ended up making a nice profit from when it would gap up on deals like with mercedes - stock pumped 40% and weeklies paid out quite well. All this to say, give yourself credit. Markets are not voodoo. If I could do it, anyone can. Timing the market. Making single stock picks has made me a lot of money and you too can do it if you learn. And when I say learn I mean literally learn by yourself. Not copy trades, follow online pump and dumps. I taught myself everything and yes, I had many failures along the way - but those failures taught me everything. I was singularly obsessed with learning how the markets worked. 18 hour days spent doing nothing but watching charts - which i barely use today - reading about economics, finance, accounting etc. educating myself because I wanted to learn. Not sitting on youtube or tiktok or wsb and just following trades. This is a long ass comment but hopefully someone takes it to heart and makes millions. Don’t limit yourself.
An ouster of the money in your account. Agree LiDAR will be important in the near future, but all the similar companies burn through cash and dilute shareholders. Think LAZR of MVIS. It’s still some time away as an investment. Ouster actually seems overpriced to me currently.
Held LAZR through the weekend. Expecting some interesting news with Sunday having been the last day of the forbearance extension. Hopefully get some sort of announcement with whatever solution was found by market open.
Like I said above, I'm hedging on a buyout. The idea of Russell merging an up-and-coming vehicle Corp, Luminar technologies, and Russell AI, then bringing it all public through LAZR as Luminar 2.0 just sounds exciting, as well as probable, since other board members were rumored to be on board with the idea. Just can't see a bankruptcy in their future with a solution literally sitting at the table with them. We'll see. Today is the last day of the forbearance agreement, so hoping for news this evening or possibly around market open. Good or bad, I held over the weekend, so I'm in for the ride.
Man, I wash you the best of luck. Managing a LAZR position has been a pain in the ass. My gains have been very small, and most of my trades were break even as I had to sprint to the exit door several times. I'm on two strikes now - two paper cuts. I'll trade that bad boy one last time, and then it's going on my no-no list, alongside BURU and others.
I'm in on LAZR. Luminar. Yes, I understand the risks and the bad, but today's the final day of the forbearance extension, so they have to do something about their debt situation. I'm hoping to see some news today or tomorrow pre-market. Doesn't matter what it is. If it's bad, then oh well, I made a bad bet, won't be the first or last. The market cap is teeny, the average volume is nothing. If it's good, then it won't take much for this thing to explode. I'm mostly hedging on Austin buying out the company to bring his new company public. Even if it's only 2 or 3x current share price, I'm in heavy enough for a decent payout. Bank or bust, lol.

Level L4 is pretty big, although I think there will be a torrent of that coming from other companies. I have some big positions in the LASER stocks (AEVA, INVZ, LAZR), since driverless cars will need the best eyes possible (LAZR is currently at a very low price, although a bit risky).

Definitely not LAZR. All others are good options.
I’ve been following this sector for almost 5 years and my only holding is $MVIS. They just got a new CEO, will be getting a new CFO, and are poised to sign automotive, industrial, and defense deals over the next few years. One of their key advantages is cost, at $200 for short-range and $300 for long-range. Compare that to $INVZ whose CEO just a few days ago said they’re in the $500-$850 range, and $OUST whose unit cost is in the several thousands. $LAZR is underwater in debt and I think they’ll be out of business shortly. They just lost their deal with Volvo. I’d suggest you listen to MVIS’s most recent earnings call if you want the lay of the land. Glen DeVos (new CEO) contributed to the commoditization of radar and thinks MicroVision can do the same for lidar.

Yea this is bullshit. Mercedes actually turned down LAZR's lidar called Iris +. They only have a development deal that will continue to go no where just like in the past. Here's a fact the con artist OP didnt write. Luminar LOSES money on every lidar they sell to Volvo right now. The company is going out of business and is absolute garbage. The CEO and founder just got kicked out of the CEO position for an ethics violation and the company is diluting $25 million a quarter.

I'm testing this strategy right now with a lot of garbage. LAZR, BLINK, CHPT, PUBM, LAC, RXRX, SNAP, SPCE, PROP. I'll need some big wins tho cause it doesn't feel great holding a portfolio full of trash. I got some electricity plays in there tho and on board with the demand. You gotta stop saying 'free' tho hahaha-- nothing is free, especially in physics. Maybe free will lol
