I didn't think there are any. If you are interested in researching the individual companies: REITs: VTR, WELL, CTRE, OHI, NHI, LTC Non- REITs: ENSG, NHC, BKD, PACS OHI, NHI, LTC, CTRE are probably some of the safer ones, but with less upside. They get most of their revenue from fixed rent. VTR, WELL, ENSG, and NHC have more risk, but more upside. Their income is more dependent on the performance of the facilities. Changes in occupancy, for example, can greatly affect income. I wouldn't recommend BKD or PACS unless you really know what you're doing. They have a ton of debt.

Did a little research. Some of these look better than others they've all performed well and I would wait for a dip OHI NHC LTC ENSG BKD. You are not wrong with that thought process I've seen some people I considered wealthy lose it all in a matter of months to the nursing home.

This is an interesting thing: Google is making a lot of grand claims here but obscuring the under-the-hood issues. It's true that their AI outperformed physics-only model -- which is a great thing. What they're not saying here is that the model was trained and used as a layer on top of the physics-only forecasts. So they're rightfully celebrating the results, but they're being less-than-honest about the methods. The way this was initially written about in the press was, basically, if their models verify then anyone with some GPU can run their own tropical forecasts and have it just as good as what the NHC puts out since it doesn't require the physics input. If you just train an AI on previous data and then supplement it with current conditional data, it's not likely going to perform at the same level. So the short of this here is: the AI-enhanced models were great and outperformed. They still can't do that without running the more expansive and expensive numerical models. It's because there's two different flows happening: physical calculation of data that is happening over a breadth of factors, which is what the numerical models do. And AI just ingests data and makes predictions based on that historical data that's already been parsed. When combined, it's fantastic. AI alone, it isn't going to perform much better. These kinds of press releases and tours from major AI companies and departments are dangerous. They have the benefit of PR teams and a vested interest in making a spectacle, and so can convince people of the superiority of their product while obscuring the details that matter. Which leads to undermining the confidence in the people and programs that are doing the foundational work to make something like this actually work. Eventually, if those things go away, then the AI outputs will start degrading in quality, too. Long term, it's self-defeating, but whatever they need to say to make the line go up.

Never forget about maps, Hurricane Dorian, sharpie and... Over the following week, X repeatedly insisted his comment had been correct. On September 4, he showed reporters a weather map which had been altered with a black Sharpie marker to falsely show the hurricane on track to hit Alabama. He also reportedly ordered his aides to obtain an official retraction of the weather bureau's comment that the storm was not headed for Alabama. On September 6, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) published an unsigned statement in support of X's initial claim, saying that National Hurricane Center (NHC) models "demonstrated that tropical-storm-force winds from Hurricane Dorian could impact Alabama."

# **TLDR** --- **Ticker:** $PNTG, $NHC, $ADUS, $ENSG, $HCA (and maybe $HCA) **Direction:** Up **Prognosis:** Buy **Reason:** Aging population + for-profit healthcare = $$$ in long-term care. These stocks are undervalued based on their operating income and strong balance sheets. **Nana's Feelings:** Extremely displeased about the prospect of her inheritance going to lawyers instead of her grandkids. **Bonus:** Fries are in the bag, chud.

We are in the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season, and there are two storms in long range surf forecasting tools that I use..specifically one moving into the Gulf by early next week (that NHC shows on their radar now) and another several days later further to the east. I would not bank on the season continuing to be quiet.

Thanks. The data is showing that there is going to be a quite severe elderly housing shortage in the next 5-10 years and I'm surprised this is not getting more attention. There are a few elderly care stocks that have already spiked up 2-3X like NHC and ENSG. But OHI is still well below all time highs and I think that's because there's a lag before an upwards spike in rents and property values occurs. But this spike will happen (I think) and the stock has amazing long term potential over the next 5 years or so. I think you're in a great business for the next 5 to 10 years at least!

I don't know what's going to happen in the next week or month. But I think earnings in the coming quarters and years will exceed expectations. Not just for NHC, but for many other elderly care stocks as well. https://www.mcknightsseniorliving.com/news/1-trillion-investment-shortage-in-senior-living-development-expected-by-2040/

ENSG looks good to me and I've held it in the past. It's growing fast and has significant debt. While NHC has improving margins and very low debt, but is not adding a significant number of new facilities. ENSG probably has more upside potential, but more downside risk (vs. NHC). I checked latest quarterly earnings, ENSG has good non-GAAP earnings growth of 14% and I'm getting a non-GAAP p/e of 26. So, yes that looks good to me and I'm now thinking about buying again this week. I actually wrote a post about PNTG a few months ago. I ended up selling it and missing a lot of upside. I was worried that a shortage of nurses and doctors would limit growth without realizing that shortage was easing.

Have you looked at ENSG compared to NHC? ENSG seems to be buying up so many facilities.

How soon until the US markets get wobbly knees from a Cat 5 hurricane? Another month? NHC says the sky's are clear so far. Looks like there’s enough hot water to make the first one a real buzz saw.

I will buy BABA once a month while it's near its 52-wk low. Just buy through the dip, dollar cost average, once a month. I did it with TAP (MolsonCoors) when it dived and am now up over 50% and TAP is still climbing. I did it with many popular brands: WBA, UA, NHC and others.
