Real estate. Even with supply constrained, few are buying, and what buyers there are want new construction when it’s available. The combination of boomers selling their primary residences at a faster pace and people abandoning bad covid era investment properties & climate distressed properties could be brutal and will push prices down. OPEN, RKT, etc. will suffer and the market will probably overreact fearing a mini-2008 event. Eventually there will be a floor but it might take awhile. Or it could be regional and not nationwide. But I think high rates are going to hurt everywhere.

I was thinking about going 1/3rd port on the idea that we could see $6 today. Considering leaving some house money to ride for next week if that happens. There are differing views about the squeezable float. The naive short% of float is about 30%, but some brokers calculate the squeezable float as far as 80% because of the institutions and insider ownership. It does indeed take 5 days to cover with average daily volume even if all volume was short covering. All volume is not public though. All deals are not made at open. As far as we know it there is a C-level executive right now making back room deals to dilute the float to cover the shorts. He got his daughter pregnant and has to think about the grand children too. I don't know a lot about finance, but that is how it seems to work. I lost 10% of port on the $SPCE thesis when $SPCX ipo'd recently. A while back I got 300% return on port from GME. Passed on $OPEN last year. Not a novice. Expect halts and all kinds of fuckery if the higher squeezable short turns out to be true next week. All kinds of fuckery, so you make sells on 100 share increments to maximize execution and aim for the daily average price if things get wild. I got that last bit of advice from a sugar trader in -09. He beat his boss with it. God speed fellow regards. We got them by the balls.
