What are your emerging retail stocks for the future?
O’Reilly Automotive’s strong sales overshadow light profit guidance (NASDAQ:ORLY)
I’m a complacent idiot that needs help
If Teslas are slowly replacing cars, people won't need many car parts in 20 years. But ORLY is at all time highs. Time to short? What am I missing? (Earnings tomorrow)
How the hell is O’Reilly Auto Parts (Ticket: ORLY) up over 50% the past year?!!? I missed out on this one.
What is still selling off and shortable right now? What are you shorting?
Mentions
I did some research on stocks that tend to do well even during recessions. Some of the companies mentioned were WMT, COST, TJX, and auto parts retailers such as AZO and ORLY.

ORLY tomorrow for easy $$$
Still all in on MSFT shares, got some funds on hold and may dump them into BKNG, ORLY, or SPGI when they are available. Or if MSFT happens to double bottom at 400, i may buy more MSFT
Timeline and goals advice: ==================== 40 USA Employed. Unmarried. $280,000 Goal is to cut way back on work. In 5 years go part time. Risk tolerance quite high. Mortgage $1300. Car paid off. No student loans. Investments: VUG 98k VEA 96k VWO 35k VTV 90k Individual Stocks 90k Mostly Tech and compounders like ORLY MCK MSFT LLY and Google. ============== The problem is I can’t get a clear answer on how much I’ll need to live off, and how much I can cut back my hours. What my time table actually is. I both love and hate my job. The stock market is incredibly volatile, and with the dollar amount I have it swings by the thousands most days. But overall it seems to seesaw. It was crazy during Covid, and of course with Trump. I missed the first half of bull market paying off loans. Kicking myself and frustrated. Feel stick.
Going with ORLY and COHR calls for earning.
ORLY? I wish that were true
ORLY is your best bet imo, aggressive buyback program and high customer retention. If you end up being one of their customers you'll get it - it's a simple, well-run business
Oh oh ohhh. Riley! Auto Parts. ORLY train is headed out! All aboard!.
Sold $ORLY today for 6% profit, love this stock
I never doubted you ORLY, hope y'all made money off it
I have UBER MSFT ORLY in my portfolio. I'm fucked tomorrow.
My portfolio is MSFT UBER ORLY. I am bad at this game
ORLY making a tear run down my leg
ORLY because it's fun to see ORLY in the portfolio. It's 15% off it's 52 week high so now is a good time to buy ORLY. Strong buy rating from everyone. Eats VOO for brunch. [https://stockanalysis.com/stocks/compare/orly-vs-voo/](https://stockanalysis.com/stocks/compare/orly-vs-voo/)
ORLY if you think tariffs are gonna be ruled illegal
ORLY tariff play tomorrow, hopefully it works out
I bought GOOGL at 170 in 2025. Doing great in a short time. Genius stock picker here. But I also bought ORLY recently just because I like seeing the ticker ORLY in my portfolio. Should make some money too.
If tariffs are ruled illegal, ORLY and AZO pump?
ORLY please stop dumping
Just loaded up on more ORLY
Loading up on ORLY (o'reilly) on market open, it's oversold imo
ORLY, its oversold and due for a bounce
Nice little pump for UBER and ORLY today. Sadly MSFT didnt follow
ORLY looks prime for breakout imo
Took 5% profit on META just now. Swing traded that money into ORLY
Vast majority of their revenue is commercial though. They basically ran inventory too lean and O Reilly gained share because of it. "While AutoZone was notorious for their negative working capital, running their supply chain this tightly hurt them w/ winning repair shops businesses and $ORLY raced ahead". CEO said the same thing. They have been running their inventory too lean and are investing and doing something about it.
ORLY could make you >10% with near zero risk by end of week
ORLY auto parts easily should be trading at $115.. calls will print think week.
I’m a Bot.. ORLY to 110 today
ORLY to 110 if you want to make money. Not a bot. lol
ORLY will pump 5% plus
ORLY will pump to 110 easy
ORLY to weather the storm!
Jump in ORLY if you want to live..
I know, that's my first impression, but the stock buy backs are insane. Look at this: [https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/ORLY/oreilly-automotive/shares-outstanding](https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/ORLY/oreilly-automotive/shares-outstanding)
what AZO and ORLY has that Amazon doesn't have is service to small mechanic shops. Both can quickly deliver needed parts to shops.
Look ORLY, AZO's direct competitor, same insane buybacks.
like my ORLY stock; beat earnings, paid .83 per share, is pimp stomping every other competitor, heading in to an era where people are gonna have to keep cars running longer or just pay absurd prices for new ones...yet it's bombing PLTR I at least get because it's likely wildly over-inflated and hyped up, but at least it's making money I guess
why is ORLY dropping so hard
Anyone playing ORLY? What's the move?
ORLY earnings this week.. ez $$
ORLY? The whole stock market? ... yeah, you're right.
It may not come to fruition, but wouldn’t ORLY be moderately affected by a sudden 100% increase in China tariffs since they act as a distributor? I can’t recall off the top of my head what percentage of their parts come from China though.
V,RSG,ORLY but all trading at a premium rn.
how is it that $ORLY, a business that survives off of selling aftermarket parts and accessories almost entirely from suppliers in China, shrugs off these kind of tariff threats and just keeps chugging along as if nothing happened?
AAPX, OPEN Put, LAC Call, RGTI call and shares and my favorite version of blackjack a TSLL variety, as a saving account ORLY keeps turning into gambling money so only deal with that if you have discipline. One day taking your head out of your ass will relieve so much stress that the steady growth of investing will seem very obviously
Thanks text and driving is my favorite sport. AAPX, OPEN Put, LAC Call, RGTI call and shares and my favorite version of blackjack a TSLL variety, as a saving account ORLY keeps turning into gambling money so only deal with that if you have discipline. For anymore of my positions you'll have to join my Grindr account.
Add to picks, RZLV ORLY BBW UPS
So has ORLY BBW and USAS
I like SOFI as well. In for 500 shares. I'm also in ORLY, O Reilly. Chart indicates 40% growth per annum last five years. A solid investment in any economy.
Paper port is up 300k on ORLY and BBW calls. You can figure out the rest. Buy the dip and hold onto your nuts is my advice ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
Economic downturn means people hold onto cars for longer. Higher new car prices, people hold onto to cars longer. They had discussed 6,500ish stores in the continental US as a saturation point, however they’re now expanded into Mexico, Canada and PR. Simple business, very fiscally disciplined, and have invested heavily in distribution centers. People think that it’s people buying fluids and wiper blades that keep them in business and Amazon can deliver those cheaper and faster. But they do a lot of their business B2B, when your car is in the shop and they need they need a part that’s not on hand they call up an ORLY. It wouldn’t be the “1 stock to hold” but I like the stock and will definitely hold it.
Hold onto my balls and hope my BULL calls print. And keep watching my ORLY go up.
We printing today babyyyyyy ORLY and BULL coming in hot.
This is why O’reilly auto is my main pick over the next 25 years. Look at Autozone’s stock price and the growth on both since 2015. AZO is doubling SPY across the same time period and ORLY just did a 15 for 1 split. ICEs are just going to keep getting rarer and rarer on the new market if not nonexistent within 5 years. But they aren’t going anywhere on the used market, while Hybrids and EV’s especially are notoriously horrible second owner cars. Cars people can actually work on themselves are going to skyrocket in value in any kind of recession. Not to mention boomer money pits with delusional budgets and self valuations.
stocked up on ORLY about a year ago, after looking at the chart which looks like lazy clipart of a chart someone would use to sell timeshares, "look it just goes up forever" Things been an out performing champ the whole time and it moves like an automatic WSB inverse synthetic, so just having it in your portfolio you automatically inverse the regardness of here, even my own.
ORLY is where you need to be boys
🚗 Yesterday, the Fed released the Beige Book. Regarding the Overall Economic Activity, it mentions "The auto sector noted flat to slightly higher sales, while **consumer demand increased for parts and services to repair older vehicles."** Potential plays that might directly benefit from this trend: GPC, AZO, ORLY, AAP, DORM, SMP.
i also found ORLY recently with my scanner. chart looks insane, what is their moat ?
I look for verticality. That’s it, nothing else. Basically I’m looking for stocks where the weekly moving average is a straight line up and to the right, over a period of at least 10 years (longer the better). $ORLY is a prime example of this, probably why it’s the greatest stock of all time. Verticality tells me the it can weather any storm and still keep growing.
FNMA and GE to ORLY. Held GE for about 5 years then bought ORLY. Bought FNMA at $3 then, still have it now.
Puts on CAT. Price action is convincing—bull rally over. Still calls on ORLY and NVDA. Fuck MSFT. Calls get one more day to pay off or I’ll exercise then just to piss off someone random.
ORLY owl should make a comeback with the other 2000s fads
My entire account is in ORLY 🌝
Plan is to continue watching my ORLY calls print tomorrow.
ORLY calls. I’m done with tech for now… Probably a few NVDA calls too just in case.
Thought UNH was in trouble? Hope it works out for you. Personally, I rather GE or ORLY for this kind of stuff.
The AZO and ORLY 10 year charts are really something else.
EPA repeals all greenhouse gas emission standards for light, medium, & heavy duty vehicles. California: ORLY??? Just for that, we gonna slap more taxes on our citizens. 😈
Interesting take, you do realize basically all parts from anywhere are about the same, I've spoke with representatives for vendors used in these brick and mortars and guess what there are only so many different ones. AAP is probably worst as far as quality they typically purchase close out WDs like Rock Auto hence price point and random name brands of slower movers. Napa, you are paying more for same quality product, I'd guess your age is 45+ as old heads tend to gravitate towards them as they were first to market and had strongest commercial presence for a long period. This obviously did not age well with with AZO being $3819, ORLY $97 after a 15/1 split ($1455 previous) and AAP in toilet at $58 coming from near $90 last year after losing WorldPac and dumping 700 some odd stores. It's clearly not the time for EV's as they are not dialed in to be successful and many techs do not want to work on them.
> Doesn't matter when they come into effect if it's certain they will. ORLY? What if they came into effect 30 years from now? Or 30 million?
Might dump some calls for QS and puts for ORLY
GOOGL ORLY and GPRO calls
Fair point that EBAY has not even kept pace with the average gain of the overall S&P 500. However year to date it ranks #51 of the 503 stocks in the index. So measured against the mean it's disappointing, but against the median it's been top 10%. If you are going to pick stocks at all rather than just buy the SPY or something, it's been a pretty good pick. [https://www.slickcharts.com/sp500/performance](https://www.slickcharts.com/sp500/performance) Second, what I am looking for help finding is stocks that will do well or at least hold up whether the economy does well or not. To just pick a couple of examples relatively close to EBAY in the YTD rankings, FAST at #47 or RL at #54, I would expect both of those to get killed if there is a general downturn in the economy. AZO and ORLY, mentioned in a later comment, make sense to me in this regard. People who can't buy a new car and can't even afford a real mechanic to service their existing one will go to the auto parts store and fix it themselves, and there will be more of those people when the economy declines. The only problem there is if might nightmare scenario with tariffs come true I think their shelves might be empty.
AZO and ORLY seem to do well on market downtrends.
GIS ORLY and CRM wildly undervalued as long term plays
How big is your bank roll? I think you are correct in your assessment of Selling vs Buying. Buying a Call hoping the stock goes up and you 4x your money is much riskier than own 100 shares of a dividend paying stock and selling a Call and collecting the Premium. I've been running the so called Wheel by selling Calls above where I don't think the stock will go and by selling CSP below where I think it will be in the next 10 - 21 days and collecting premium and dividends along the way. It's not sexy but I'm avaeraging about 10% per 6 months. (I'm not sure how to calculate ROI% so I use Net Premium collected / Portfolio Value.) For example, I Sold to Open 10 different Calls & Puts with 4 to 11 DTE on MSFT, GD, MMM, AMZN, ORLY, NVDA, TQQQ for $1,450 in Premium and collected $480 in Dividends on Monday. I don't expect anything to be assigned but I'm OK if anything is assigned. They are not all going to be winners. I don't watch the market during the day and only check in after work. Good luck. \*Not ffinancial advice, don't listen to me, past performance is no guarantee o ffuture results.\* \*\*I'm not selling anything and I don't recommend buying courses. All the info is free at the library and CBOE\*\*
Before I went to bed last night I saw someone post saying gonna sleep tight with my ORLY calls
ORLY. Look at the charts. Crazy good.
Sleeping soundly with my ORLY calls 🌝
ORLY is holding up my port

Happy ORLY split day everyone! 🥳
