Stop doing options. Buy PARA, try to get it below 12. Wait for it to break out above 13.5. It has been doing this movement every time a rumor of a sale comes out. If it dips just wait it out. It will eventually go to 17-19.
I was down 40% on PARA, But doubled down the day before the pop about Sony involved in an offer. Now I'm only down 20%. I think their will be a way better offer than most will expect. Once the offer is announced there will be a huge short squeeze. Probably double my money.
I like companies with buyout offers higher than there trading price by 20 percent such as Macy's and PARA, paramount, although their highest bid is sttib question, play the arbitrage IMHO.

I'll try the bear then. I closed the position even though I'm not really that bearish on it - not like I think $0 is a possibility in my lifetime. But I'm pretty conservative in the portfolio, lots of dividends, REITS (I just retired 2024, wife is part time now). But AAPL was one of just a couple growth slots I had kept (in equities - equities are just 1/3 or so of NW, started for fun and it sure is!), but I'm not seeing the growth prospects as much going forward and there were some really good dividend and income plays at the time, so I closed the position in Aug 2022 (opened NOV 2012) at a 8.4x multiple. It does at least pay a dividend, but I wanted to repurpose that capital to earn more than the 0.56% AAPL pays now. It was also a TLH play, as earlier in the year I'd booked some big losses (LUMN, PARA, SCHP, MMM, ROKU) so the tax was $0. The taxed account now earns 4% dividend, the IRA equities 5.7%, so that's a good chunk of income for us. If/when we have to draw down, we have plenty in mutual funds to draw from, so this income should hold as long as the companies' dividends cooperate.

PARA is trying to find a selling partner, so you’ll get some volatility there. You can get calls expiring in 2026 that are deep in the money at $7.5 for $500 right now. Calls are dirt cheap on PFE right now out in 2026 as well deep in the money $20 calls going for $700. Or you can buy 0DTE’s and have $0 by Monday.
There is an offer to buy PARA for $26 Billion. The current market cap is $7.6 billion. How is this not an easy 3X?

All the SOTP stories about Madison Square Garden for eons ("air rights above MSG!" "Some other team sold for $X!") - it didn't/doesn't matter as long as Dolan remains CEO.
The deal with Ellison - if it goes through - implies a value of PARA shares at $11/share after dilution. Current share price is already at $11/share. The whole thing is ugly but at these prices I don't think there's any point for currently invested shareholders to sell. IMHO, if the deal cuts Shari compeltely out of control of Paramount then it may ironically end up better for shareholders in the long term. She's the sole reason shares are so underpriced because management has been doing a decent job overall given the current challenging environment. Regardless, Shari does not deserve $2 billion just for being a Redstone. Give her a 10-20% premium on her voting shares and I think shareholders would be glad to be rid of her at that price point.
I'm playing this one. Bought in yesterday while all the PARA message boards were undergoing meltdown. All it takes is a "My bad! I don't want a mountain of legal entertainment! Here have a special dividend class B shareholders!" and this thing bounces like a rubber ball.

They are merging with Skydance with the condition that PARA dilute shareholders to raise funds and lower its debt. So, Redstone makes out like gangbusters, Skydance get a less-saddled PARA on the cheap, and shareholders of common stock get screwed. What a country!

Maybe this isn't the place for actual discussion but other than $BAK, I don't think there is a better oppurtunity for quick money to be made than with $PARA. In January it was reported that Skydance/Ellison were looking to offer an all cash bid to take control of National Amusements, and then the second step would be to merge Skydance with Paramount. As time ticked by it reached $10 lows, and then other offers came in and muddied the waters and had acutal bear cases. This time however, I don't see why the thinking is so pessamistic. Entirely putting greed and bias aside, there is a genuine hatred online for paramounts stock after so many have taken a loss and it's dropped so much in value, but if you have a cost basis after the dip today, or at $10 if so lucky, then the chances of profiting are so much higher. Even if the bid from Skydance is the same as the Apollo offer, there would be massive benefits. There is nothing that I've seen to suggest that this would be anything other than an all cash bid like originally reported in January at a nice premium to current prices.
That figure consists of equity and debt. Maybe they didn’t like the structure or direction Apollo wanted to take PARA into. In any case the Redstone family is rich and old, they could be senile.

I don’t see any deal for NAI going through that doesn’t consider PARA shareholders. Like others have said, if the deal isn’t better than what has already been put out there by Apollo, the deal will get litigated to high hell.

I don't follow that company so not sure why in this particular case, but it's not uncommon to see companies with very low number of voting shares and high number of non-voting shares (talking only about common shares). This makes it easier for a group of people to keep control of the company. Looking quickly at yahoo finance, the voting shares (PARAA) have 40.7M outstanding shares and very low trading volume, while the non-voting shares (PARA) has 611.8M outstanding shares and high trading volume. That means the voting shares are less liquid and not traded much, which can create imbalances in valuation. I don't know if that's the only cause in this case, but it might explains part of it.
