Anyone know if any of these dividend stocks are any good?
Anyone know of good stocks with high dividends?
When the market gets very tough/choppy and turns red, sometimes our best strategy for trading is to go with what I called super defensive.

The Coast is not clear yet! High Tech is still dropping and quickly! Better to trade safe high dividend plays! I know, it is not exciting but it will work until we see greens!

I feel much better now that PSEC is red too. (Not technically a loss because I don’t sell for a loss. My posterity shall inherit the losses)
Is it just me or is PSEC primed for LIFTOFF 🚀🚀🚀

I think PSEC... Easy 3 times ur money
So you're chasing yields without understanding what dividends are. You're in for a bad future. PSEC is down 40% in the last year.
I am probably going to begin my slow descent into madness again. Throughout October i have locked in some high div yield stocks like PSEC and SCM while building my Nintendo position. I did some strong sells with my only woops being nokia at like 5.60, in my defense that stock had been at 4.50 for like 2 years but the ai money button should not be doubted. I am now getting divi tendies of like $70 a month and despite my desires to compound my tendies i am thinking of throwing it into dogecoin. I think doge has been resilient despite its meme status and massive sell off and can probably get to $.30 or more. Last time I thought this I watched the coin drop to $.06 and was still doubling down so i am bracing for a rough year. My only other want is to diversify my positions, Wendy's or maybe ford seems like good ideas, but are in industries i am less knowledgeable in.
What I want PSEC to do and what PSEC does have always been two different things.
When I was young and dumb(er), I went in hard on PSEC. Dividends are not your friend (unless they are, but not when you're 28 and not when it's 80% of your portfolio).
Honestly i am kind of locked in rn until PSEC gives me my divi tendies. If ClOV can make it pass 3 dollars i might sell and reinvest in DNN or PSEC. My last yolo pickup is WTO stock i put in like 6 bucks but if the stock can climb back up to ¢50 any investments i put in goes up 10 fold. Besides that, I'ma ride my Nintendo stocks through q4
Nintendo is still on SALE! Warner is still cheap but not a fan of how much of the price is made up of the hope they'll get bought by a better company. I just want PSEC giving me my 20% div
I stumbled across: PSEC. It’s a REIT that is $2.76 or so but pays a near 20% Dividend and it is positive PE. And hedgefund just bought and so did a Corp Officer. Going to run with it some. Anyone have thoughts Or experience with this company?
I am watching it. I added 2,000 shares a few days ago. Might add a few thousand more later this month as I get dividends. My thoughts is they acquired a company which means synergies. Also at 16 percentage yield it feels oversold. I think the report and reaction were a bit overdone. Usually PSEC has many years between dividend cuts so I can't imagine the shorts holding out 4+ years paying out a 16 percentage yield. It doesn't feel like there is any way to push it lower. It is way too defensible at this level.
I have some in ARCC and PSEC. super boring, but reliable dividend earners.
Selling 839 shares of PSEC and putting in JEPI. 51% loss.
A ball of sadness Some solar EV and tech Nvidia is down 16 YTD Arm is almost flat 🥲 Charge point is down 40 not totally tarrif related I know PSEC also down about 17 My bright spots are Costco up 10 Sunoco which up a few plus dividends but I'm not holding as much And yeah stupid weed stocks that's my fault lol. MSOS is coming back but still down 22
Has anyone heard of PSEC?.. 18% div trading at $3.60 book at $8
Hey all! I'm a 33 year old man, married. 3 kids. I'm the only one that works. I make 70k a year, and usually get an additional bonus between 9-12k a year.. I really want to do what I can to secure my families future. I've been taking baby steps in learning about investing. I really like the idea of mo they dividends as Income over cashing out everything and trying to make it last. Plus I lile the thought of rolling over those monthly dividend stocks to.my kids when I'm gone and creating some kind of generational wealth. I investing in custodial accounts for my kids, and a normal retirement account for me and my wife. Kid1- 0.25 a day in STAG Kid2- 0.25 a day in STAG Kid3- 0.25 a day in STAG My retirement account- 0.25 a day in PSEC, STAG, O, EARN, and SRET (monthly dividend ETF) I also contribute 6% of my paycheck to my 401k at work (I chose the most aggressive investing option) I net 1600 bi-weekly. So I lean pretty heavy into REITs and trying to keep my 401k to non dividend based stocks that focus on aggressive growth. Again, im new to this. I could use experienced thoughts .advice and encouragement. Let me know, thank you all for your time!
PSEC. insiders just bought a ton and they have earnings on the 7th
MY LIST: (Some Penny Stocks and Small Cap). DLHC, UAVS, ONL, SDST, QUIK, PSEC, REI
SOC, POAI, RCAT, PSEC, RILY, LMT, KRKNF, to name a few. I had way too many questions to state here.
Real Estate Investment Trusts can have high dividend yields but we're talking 4-10 percent. Not the crazy high yields resulting from price declines. Business Development Companies like PSEC (12%) can have high yields too but you really have to know what you're doing to get into these things.
PSEC is a bottom of the barrel BDC. It often trades at the largest discount to NAV in the industry because everyone knows they keep their NAV propped up to keep management fees high. The management company that PSEC pays unusually high fees to is run by PSEC’s CEO and president. It’s a clear conflict of interest. So while John Barry takes no salary from PSEC, he ensures the big fees keep rolling into his management company. By buying more shares, Barry is able to fend off any other shareholders that would vote to move to a different management company. PSEC is permanent capital that exists to generate fees for Barry. PSEC usually has the highest yielding investment grade bonds as the market recognizes the risk. PSEC has shifted to flooding the market with preferred stock. Preferred stock dividends will remain fixed while common shareholders have rights to the remaining cash flow. Unsurprisingly PSEC recently reduced the dividend to shareholders by 25%. PSEC makes loans to businesses. An unusually high % of those loans are PIK (payment in kind). The companies PSEC lends money to don’t have enough cash to pay them. Eventually, something like PGX happens where the company goes bankrupt and now PSEC takes over a loser of a business. If you want to own a BDC, own a quality company like MAIN, HTGC, or BXSL.
Prospect Capital Corporation (PSEC) is a publicly-traded business development company (BDC) that invests in and lends to private businesses in the United States and Canada: * **Investments**PSEC invests in middle market companies across a range of industries, including manufacturing, energy, healthcare, and financial services. PSEC's investments include debt and equity, and are intended to generate income and capital appreciation. * **Financing**PSEC provides financing for acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, refinancing, capital expenditures, and more. * **Benefits to investees**BDCs like PSEC provide benefits to their investees, such as managerial assistance, an alternative source of capital, and public disclosure.
Have followed PSEC for years after falling for BD companies as an early investor. Long time out of these. Generally speaking, the price pumps to the interest rate hikes until it tanks for problems like these. Yes, they will eke out some money, but it will go to save the dividend if they can. Frankly the risk isn’t worth it. Compounded, a small position may have made a few more dollars, but a huge investment into these companies takes a hell of a lot time and I just can’t do it.
$PSEC Insider Buys continue; The CEO has been buying shares like crazy. He has 4.2 million shares valued over $20 million! He does not take any Salary! The President has a salary of 175K and has purchase about that in shares! And more SECF filings came in today, they bought more!
i really would be a happy camper today if not for the fucking PSEC fucking my port
Ah sorry didn't even notice that, apologies: Prospect Capital Corporation (PSEC) is currently trading at $5.14, showing a bearish trend with the RSI indicating oversold conditions (6-day RSI at 37). The MACD is negative, suggesting continued downward momentum. The stock has been trading below its short-term moving averages, with the 10-day SMA at $5.22 and the 20-day EMA at $5.22, indicating resistance around these levels. Given the lack of recent news and low trading volume, PSEC appears to be in a consolidation phase, potentially vulnerable to broader market influences. With SPY showing a slight downward trend and financials facing headwinds, caution is advised. For today's session, consider a SHORT position with an entry at $5.14, targeting $5.05 first and $4.95 second, with a stop loss at $5.20. Confidence in the first target is moderate due to technical indicators, while the second target carries lower confidence given potential support around $5.00.
Thanks but it’s PSEC , Prospect Capital
Absolutely: LMT: Lockheed Martin (LMT) is currently trading at $550, reflecting a bearish sentiment following disappointing Q3 earnings, particularly in its aeronautics and space divisions. Despite the broader positive sentiment in the defense sector due to geopolitical tensions, LMT's technical indicators suggest caution; the RSI is oversold, indicating potential for a short-term rebound, but the MACD remains negative, signaling continued downward pressure. The stock is below key moving averages, with the 10-day SMA at $552.68 and the 20-day SMA at $578.76, suggesting resistance ahead. Given the mixed market signals and LMT's recent performance, a SHORT position is advisable with an entry around $550. Target the first price at $540 and a second at $530, setting a stop loss at $560 to manage risk. Confidence in these targets is moderate due to the oversold RSI, which could trigger a temporary bounce. Broader market trends, such as potential Fed rate cuts and geopolitical developments, should be monitored closely as they could impact LMT's trajectory. PSEC: Spectaire Holdings, Inc. (SPEC) is currently trading at $0.04495, showing a significant decline from its 30-day SMA of $0.0829, indicating bearish momentum. The RSI values are below 40, suggesting the stock is oversold, but the MACD histogram remains negative, reinforcing the bearish sentiment. With no SPEC-specific news and low trading volume, the stock lacks catalysts for a reversal. Broader market conditions show mixed signals, with technology sectors performing well, but SPEC's lack of correlation to these trends suggests limited upside potential. Given the technical indicators and absence of positive sentiment, a SHORT position is advisable. Entry at $0.045, with a first target of $0.040 and a second target of $0.035, while setting a stop loss at $0.050. Confidence in reaching the first target is moderate due to oversold conditions, but high for the second target given the persistent downtrend.
Good Job. Personally I would take half of it and buy a handful of high yield REITS from 12% to as high as 20% because I see SVC is 18% and PSEC is 15% and AGNC is 15% and UNIT is 15% and ORC is almost 20% and many other good ones to provide good yield and growth and good compounding quickly. In 3 years of compounding. 150k x 1.15 = 172500 x1.15=198375 x1.15=228131 x1.15=262350 x1.15=301703 x1.15=346959 x1.15=399002 x1.15=458853 x1.15=527681 x1.15=606833 x1.15=697858 x1.15=802537. Easy money not factoring in stock price growth which should do good after interest rate cuts start
According to chat gpt... The stocks you’re referring to are likely *Owl Rock Capital Corporation* (ORCC) and *Prospect Capital Corporation* (PSEC). These are business development companies (BDCs) known for offering high dividend yields, and they typically distribute dividends on a regular basis. Given the details provided, it seems these stocks could match the profile, but you may want to double-check the exact dividends and weekly payout schedule to ensure they align with your example. However, it's important to verify the specific stocks and their current dividend schedules, as dividend yields and payment frequencies can change.
CC, PSEC, MFA, AB, and maybe some more HE bc I know that divi will be back and it will be awesome
My bad. I didn’t want to post the stock as to not advertise it. It’s PSEC
Hmm me at your age was making around 30k about 1400 take home with 700 rent. ... Let s say instead you put half that in a high dividend stock like PSEC you would make 3800 a month.... all it 7600 . 90k a year before taxes.... But you you do you . Regards
I’ve been selling calls on PSEC for .05-.10 a month giving me a extra dividend putting my return to over 20% a year not including stock appreciation or losses. Unfortunately it seems this month there is no bid on the 6$ call so I sold a November call for a 13$ premium (.13$)
I was (unfortunately) a PSEC owner for 10+ years and got these in the mail regularly. For a while I was getting one almost every week. I called them once and it was something about they want to issue more shares and they need shareholder approval if the price is below a certain point, which it always was because that stock only goes down.
I got the same letter and called them. They are a proxy for the company and want you to vote either with the board or against the board on an upcoming vote in June. The vote is for a share offering but I can’t remember the details. It’s some kind of beneficial share thing. My dad called PSEC investor relations and got the scoop and decided it was a good thing and told them he was voting with the board.
I would verify the number belongs to the company, but it’s not uncommon for companies to contact shareholders directly about proxy votes & such, especially contentious ones (like voting against an activist investor, etc). As i understand it, the transfer agent of PSEC will ask for contact info for all shareholders from your broker & then send out the mailers for various shareholder matters. That said, this letter is printed in color and makes it seem like the letter is trying to look like it was hand signed by the CEO. Maybe im too cautious but thats a tactic most often used by shitty advertisement mailers. Seems odd to me at least.
I understand. I have a little bit of cash in $PSEC for a bit of diversification. The stock has held steady through both the ups and downs, going up and down mainly on earnings and dividends. If the company continues dividends and recovers from rate cuts at some point, then it’s a sure winner. As I have looked, a lot of people don’t want in for the uncertainty. Unlike a lot of tickers mentioned here and elsewhere, the downtrend is just a side effect of being a boring financial firm in the midst of the tech craze. Same thing with $dnut, which I may do another DD on. Both are great plays.
PSEC two year chart shows no real progress.....outside of the dividend, little chance for a return
Not sure if you mentioned MO but it's 9.45% and I don't think they've lowered it in a long time if at all. PSEC is like 13% paying monthly but it's riskier. It's super cheap and hasn't really moved in a few years. Im not really a divvy investor but if I was I'd probably go into these two. PSEC could be a bust though but altria is safe as it can be imo.
PSEC pays dividends too. Just want a mixture of dividends and growth stocks
Try dividends next time. They pay better than -100% JPEQ JEPI PSEC DX - a few thanks for coming to my Ted talk Later *loser*
Put that money on $PSEC ad enjoy cashflow every month, do not expect capita gains but if you keep buying overtime you get a better average cost. The main thing is that pays great dividend every month
Yea or buy PSEC which pays a dividend of .06 a share a month, he would make $11,000 a month in dividends if he used 990k.
I have PSEC and several YieldMax funds. They pay monthly and I end up with about $20 to play with.
I’m 18 for reference. When I got access to my Roth in September, I did 25% splits between BRK.B, AAPL, AMD, and PSEC. I went from 29 to just over 36 (was at 37, but bad day for one of my plays). I’ve sold off my original positions, but still have some of them off and on. Advice: with those gains, play how you want to. Manage risk and don’t play options/riskier plays, unless you play with your profits. I know people suggest safety, but I would’ve never had the success I did without going with what I wanted. You seem to have success, so continue with it. Congrats!
I like to see how people in the stock react to it. If I’ve only followed financials, I would have $0 in my trading account lol. I’ll definitely keep a close eye on it, but 3k shares of PSEC is already too much for me lol.
if you like PSEC, you might like CIM Chimera too.. [https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/CIM](https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/CIM)
Gonna regard out and put my account into PSEC
I’ve owned PSEC in past and made money selling it. But I keep considering buying again for that nice dividend. Thanks for the post!
PSEC shares seems too risky for me. I do hold some ARCC though. I’ve also scooped up some PSEC 7.5% notes, that about as much as i’m willing to “invest” in them
stfu regard how about you read their own website for 2 second so you don't say they're invested in 400 companies. Bottom tier DD. >Since its 2004 IPO, PSEC has made over 400 investments totaling $20.4 billion of capital with 128 current portfolio companies spanning 36 separate industries.
The dividend chaser I am discussing is holding a stock like PSEC with an 11% yield. SCHD has a lot of quality businesses in it.
Invest in PSEC it has good dividend.
Don’t know why this is downvoted. Safe investments like VOO/SPY are alright, but realistically at a young age, you should have more risk. When you have a job, kids, expenses, then the safer the better. My Roth is comprised of AAPL, AMD, PSEC, and BRK.B. I’m already up big on the 2 tech giants. I don’t get why people are so scared to go from the norm in stocks.
ETFs are my main investment. I hadn’t really delved into investing into individual stocks but wanted to build a portfolio of strong stocks that also have been consistent with dividends. I know dividends are not a good indicator of a stock’s performance or strength which is why I am asking about PSEC.
Yea, I've owned it for a decade, u follow PSEC news...still doesn't feel like a wsb post. They aren't going to be mooning or anything.
I've liked PSEC for a decade now...but why is it in wsb?
PSEC is my unexpected winner of the day
PSEC is cheap rn with a stable 6 cent div
Thinking about buying GIPR, PSEC, and AGNC. what do you think of them and do you think they will go up.
I have shares of PSEC. It is a strange one. Yield is now up to 12.8%. I first bought shares several years ago, and used reinvestment and also just added shares. It is "closed end fund." I have been happy with it, enjoy seeing the monthly dividends. Certainly have not lost money even though the share price happens to be quite low now. It would take some work to figure out just what my net return has been. *Prospect Capital Corporation is a leading publicly-traded Business Development Company (“BDC”). We make debt and equity investments in U.S. middle market businesses across a range of industries, and seek to deliver steady, attractive returns to our shareholders.* *We trade on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol “PSEC”.*
It might be harder to pick specific companies. But you can also pick funds that are managed by shitty managers. Look up PSEC and RMR managed funds. Just wait until they start another fund or merge a fund with a new name and then short the shit out of it. But remember these are long term shorts. Management is incentivized to make it a slow bleed rather than amputation. They will do all kinds of special accounting to keep NAV up and it may take some time before other retail money understands they have been had.
I could use some more diamonds on PSEC high shorts with insider buy 2mil
that's actually a great point that I hadn't considered. However, according to the PSEC website, the price for the drip shares has already been decided [https://www.prospectstreet.com/investors/dividends/default.aspx](https://www.prospectstreet.com/investors/dividends/default.aspx) the stated price for the drip shares is 5.8425, which is 95% of 6.15, which was the price PSEC closed at on Wed 9/20 (the pay date) so in this case, the drop on the ex-div date won't have that equalizing effect and to the person who asked, I bought all these shares around 8/18, 10 days before the original ex-div date of 8/28 again, hopefully this is all resolved by Monday, we'll see.
yeah the PSEC website says DTC as well, and says to confirm with your broker that they use DTC model to guarantee the discount, and not a "synthetic drip" like some brokers. I confirmed a few weeks ago that they indeed use the DTC and provide the discount. Hopefully you are correct and this will all be sorted out
tdameritrade also, PSEC offers a special drip where they issue you shares at 95% of the market price. so maybe it's this "special" drip that is causing it to be deposited late. if that's the case, I have to calculate whether it's worth it to just receive cash dividend (on time) at current market price, and reinvest it manually, or receive 5% discount on shares but possibly (or always) miss a month's worth of reinvestments.
JEPI is the new PSEC
I don’t think you know they history of that entity. But 15 years ago people were saying the same thing. Now distribution cut by 88% and stock down 70% since then. Meanwhile management has cumulatively earned more than 3 or 4 times what the company was worth in 2013. (They did buy a bunch of shares with it, too. Just to make you think they had skin in the game). Also, they started other investment companies that compete directly with PSEC to originate deals just to make even more money and double up on the fees they charge. If you are in their other funds like PRIF, I would exit those as well. I would look other places.
Buy 900k of $PSEC live off dividends.
My hottest take is about a sector, namely the global banking sector. They all have piles of illiquid shit that will be devalued further. As such I have sold cash secured puts around MSCC, PSEC, and TPVG because I believe BDC's have pick of the litter for underwriting highly collateralized loans that will make them super appealing as companies get squeezed by their banks. If I get assigned I will take it and roll the high dividends as well as covered call premiums on the other side of the option chain but will generally tap out or roll higher on the put side ahead of that. We are in a golden era for private capital and owning the stocks is a good means to do so with taking intelligent risk premiums and security of a solid dividend as banks come under more strain. BTFP is being tapped again and again and it will take further regional banking collapses to sure up the system consolidating more assets into JPM, C, WF, and BAC. There is a lot more toilets to flush before that happens.
Toss it into PSEC and come back in 30 years
Anyone buying PSEC, WBA or MPW? 🤔🤔🤔
So $PSEC is a buy according to inverse Cramer?
I sold 5$ calls on PSEC for 2024 a while back and just been holding the stock for the dividend. Stocks basically already sold for 5 a share and it’s a wash on the principal but the dividend keeps rolling in. I wouldn’t hold them without some down side protection tho.
Pretty sure they pay monthly, maybe the yield has gone down. I do also like PSEC, but they are dramatically lower market cap.
Do some DD in $PSEC, they have %8-%10 yearly dividends and they pay them monthly
Don't let anyone else here read this, but put most of that into a few high yield dividend stocks like PSEC and DIV, put them on auto reinvesting - market goes down you buy the dip each month with dividends - earning a pretty safe like 8%.
All in on PSEC$ get that juicy dividend brother.
This seems to be the dream investment that shouldn't exist: 11% payout, growing a little faster than inflation, low volatility. Basically what Bernie Madoff was selling (not that this is anything like Madoff). Diversified, so it probably doesn't depend on any one item. Then again, there seems to be a bunch of these: PSEC, HRZN, SCM Tempting, but seems too good to be true. I'll study more.
Take this buy a monthly dividend stock like PSEC use the Div money to play, sell OTM CCs for more powder
ON a more serious note, i like to help when I can.. dividend stocks are where its at and nows the time boys. [https://twitter.com/realjgbanks/status/1627726998083866625?s=46&t=HWRckbCfuEAGE4MwhZUL\_Q](https://twitter.com/realjgbanks/status/1627726998083866625?s=46&t=HWRckbCfuEAGE4MwhZUL_Q) Dividend Stocks That Pay Monthly [$PSEC](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24PSEC&src=cashtag_click) \- Prospect (9.4% yield) [$EPR](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24EPR&src=cashtag_click) \- EPR Properties (7.8% yield) [$GOOD](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24GOOD&src=cashtag_click) \- Gladstone (7.33% yield) [$GAIN](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24GAIN&src=cashtag_click) \- Gladstone (6.82% yield) [$MAIN](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24MAIN&src=cashtag_click) \- Main Street (6.7% yield) [$LTC](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24LTC&src=cashtag_click) \- LTC Properties (6% yield) [$PBA](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24PBA&src=cashtag_click) \- Pembina (5.7% yield) [$O](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24O&src=cashtag_click) \- Realty Income…
PSEC for the win. Ride the divis to retirement!
My first stock was $PSEC. I don't even care how it performs; it gives me those tasty dividends every month.
If you take 100k and put it in PSEC wih a 9.4% dividend. You'll be at 1.3 million in 30 years.
PSEC. It's not extremely volatile, you can buy one share for under $7.70 with a $.06 dividend every month that can be reinvested at a 5% discount. Any time you get an extra $8, buy another share.
You could buy one PSEC and earn the ~$0.06 div per month
op Check out PSEC high dividend, clean and easy, sit back and live your life.
Look at PSEC for high divi
Put 1k in PSEC and buy a new share with the divi coming in.
Buy a REIT or BDC company paying a dividend yield above 8%. A low risk investment that will pay you back more than your loan interest rate monthly or quarterly. PSEC, HTGC, and NEWT are BDCs I would look at. ABR is a REIT I own as well
Look into investing into PSEC. Its a stock that goes for between $6-$8 depending on the time of year but it pays out a 6 cent dividend every month
