I've been using Reddit for so long that I didn't even know that it had ads. I wonder what other wonderful BS content and features I'm missing out on.... I've been on old.reddit + RES since 2011.
Why though? I heard they’re developing a new RES crypto exchange in collaboration with Ju com. Wouldn’t that send the stock price higher once it launches? I’m just confused why people aren’t jumping on this opportunity.
He's a Google hater, if you have RES just apply the tag and you'll know to read the comments with a grain of salt in the future
You can filter out posts by Keyword on RES
pretty sure you can do that with RES
I am quite sure. Without H RES 580 no debate and final vote. What passed was the "motion to reconsider" since genius and clarity failed yesterday. So just the procedural vote so that they can vote on genius and (funnily enough) a must pass defence bill. It also took me a while to understand it cause crypto twitter hasnt realised it yet. Full H RES 580 text Res.580 - Providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 4016) making appropriations for the Department of Defense for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026, and for other purposes; providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 3633) to provide for a system of regulation of the offer and sale of digital commodities by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and for other purposes; providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 1919) to amend the Federal Reserve Act to prohibit the Federal reserve banks from offering certain products or services directly to an individual, to prohibit the use of central bank digital currency for monetary policy, and for other purposes; providing for consideration of the bill (S. 1582) to provide for the regulation of payment stablecoins, and for other purposes; and waiving a requirement of clause 6(a) of rule XIII with respect to consideration of certain resolutions reported from the Committee on Rules.

Shit like this is the only real reason I'd use RES.
This tracks with the increase in number of Indian subreddits I have added to my RES filters.
Update: 8 years later similar issues with MerrillEdge. There were always a few penny stocks they blocked, probably good for me. the penny stocks they didn't block in 2024 are less than a penny now. Recently Xiaomi XIACY was blocked but XIACF is for sale. There may have been some other chinese stocks and etfs blocked in spring 2025. For the ETFs I was trading for 2 years, UGE, EVAV, KARS, I get a message "error icon The order you have entered cannot be placed online. Standard web trading rates still apply. (RES\_FRD03A)". The chat rep gave some words about 'chinese security risks', and unusual trading patterns. This happened before during and after Trumps Tariffs game. Maybe there was some odd trading. So, I contacted the above securities web page, and one co was not aware of that, then was told it can be traded. When I wrote a thank you note with another quote from Merrill, they again reached out to merrill, and was told right, these cannot be traded online right now. I'm hoping they can work some deal to get some of these trading again.
Nurses and teachers are chronic WH0RES lmfao
> This is why you don't get your investment advice from Reddit. Lots of retail traders bought the dip, myself included. But Reddit's upvote/downvote system works against you, because well thought out posts that contradict popular opinion get buried, while low effort consensus posts get upvoted. > > I loathe that reddit removed the ability for RES to show upvote and downvote counts. A post that gets 4900 upvotes and 5000 downvotes ends up at -100. A post that gets 10 upvotes and 110 downvotes *also* ends up at -100. It warps peoples perception of how popular opinions really are.
If you use RES on desktop, you can tag users.
I think RES has that option, for mobile you’re SOL cause Reddit disabled third party access to their API
https://old.reddit.com with RES.
we have said this for nearly 2 weeks straight and it’s been RES DILDOS FOR 2 WHOLE WEEKS
Ever heard of web browsers? old.reddit + RES is supreme.
Still exists in RES, so long as you use old.reddit, which you should be doing anyway because it is superior.
“HERE ARE THREE THEIRS - THERES - THEY’RES THATS SOME HONKEY SHIT I DONT GOT TIME TO BE FIGURING THAT SHIT OUT WHEN I TWEET THERES NOTHING WHITER THAN ENGLISH ITSELF NIGGAS WHO SPEAK PERFECT ENGLISH BE BROKE” - ye. We’re all gonna make it, aren’t we? 😩
Just an FYI - I have OP tagged in RES as knowing jack shit about tech stocks. He's the guy that told everyone to short CRWD before Q1 earnings last year, only to see them go up 20%. Trust him as much as you would trust Russell Wilson as your starting QB.
RES tells me I upvoted him a net 101 times before he was banned.
RES filters for the win. Great way to filter out most of the chaff this site is full of.
Proba🦕ly a couple years, though I guess the RES flair could be older than that given I've been around here on and off for a decade and a half or something
> yea I hate those. I don't see them because I use ad blockers and don't browse reddit in a way that would leak them through. The few times I've seen what 2024 reddit looks like without old.reddit.com/r/*, RES, and adblockers is horrific. Again, just IMO.
Yes, absolutely. I’m not trying to greenwash Shell and Chevron. But they’re not stupid. Their goal is to make money. They have exponentially more capital to invest into RE than some small startup. So they’ll make money where they can and follow the market. A quick google search: Shell's Renewables and Energy Solutions (RES) division reported a profit of under $3.04 billion in 2023, its first-ever profit for the segment. I also attend RE conferences occasionally and she’ll, chevron and exon always have a presence there.
BIGGGG RES CANDLES
I'm 38 so I am a millennial. > But within the context of an investment and room for huge revenue growth, it’s playing out very well. Yes, but personally having watched the site change over time I've become a hater. The only way I find the site tolerable is using old.reddit.com and RES. I also don't think there is an alternative to reddit which is why 43% of us use it all the time. Once a week lol...for me it's like non stop all day.
I'm assuming this is funny. All I can see is :27189::4267: while using RES

Yep, I had all those accounts flagged on my RES and it would be multiple accounts on the front page every aingle day. Then you find out they are a mod on like the top 50 subs. The comments started to be 50% about post and 50% about why redditors kept seeing the same users post.
Shit-ass of a day (S/O to the RES) not even a scalp worth it
Reddit has two function you can use to follow threads without leaving comments like this. 1. Subscribe/follow posts. On mobile click the three button menu and select subscribe. On the website (Old.reddit Use RES to subscribe to the thread) new reddit click the bell. 2. Save the post, press save on the post.
couldnt find the option in RES, apparently is not supported (https://www.reddit.com/r/Enhancement/comments/tqyr8z/new_reddit_emojies/i2mhqt5/) But i found a script (use Tampermonkey) to show those emojis: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/443011-emojis-for-old-reddit
No problem! If you'd like to see the emotes on old reddit, you can download Reddit Enhancement Suite (RES), it has a bunch of features.
Uh, You know the "printed" money is BORROWED from the pvt bank the FED RES right? which printing just creates MORE debt.
^^^^^^^^^^^There's ^^^^^^^^^^^an ^^^^^^^^^^^option ^^^^^^^^^^^on ^^^^^^^^^^^RES ^^^^^^^^^^^to ^^^^^^^^^^^reduce ^^^^^^^^^^^the ^^^^^^^^^^^size ^^^^^^^^^^^of ^^^^^^^^^^^the ^^^^^^^^^^^font.
RES is the only one to come back from the dead. Or was it the only one to bring others back? 🤔
Right, but I know how to stop it. On desktop, I use Old Reddit with RES and uBlock Origin. I’ve maxed out my privacy settings on every app including Reddit. But these ultra-targeted ads are suddenly getting through. It doesn’t even rely on secret information. Bots can create a targeted profile about me simply by looking at the subs where I comment and the keywords in my comments. That’s public information and now Reddit has killed off the external APIs that could harvest it in the past.
Bro there is no supply on the market, how is it going to colapse? People put litteral sheeds on the market for 1300 [https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/147549674#/?channel=RES\_LET](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/147549674#/?channel=RES_LET)
Dark Mode in RES using old.reddit (fine in dark mode), logged in...click image - redirect to not old reddit/out of dark mode with a shitty media url or some shit. Guess its time for reddit to die for me. I already stopped using on mobile as their app sucks ass and all the good alts left after the API cost changes.
Where do you see RES - I see it like 508.3 ?
All the rich people are enjoying the sun? People are worried that what's going on in the middle-east will puke over to the US again? They're trying to kick the speaker of the house? My guess is that FED RES didn't cut the rate. People don't like that. Also, they tend to go down before the memorial day.
Works for me on old reddit, but I also have RES and that might have something to do with it.
This is my thoughts on it: Nobody is buying premium. And a lot of those people who do not buy it are running adblock. This by far is the problem. If people want Reddit to survive they have to do one of two things: allow ads or buy premium. They killed off Reddit gold and awards. People spent a lot of money on that. I really do not understand why Reddit got rid of a popular money making feature. Awards are gone. Gold is still around, sort of. It does not give premium anymore. And gold is harder to give now. You can not bank it for use later. You need to use the new Reddit site to give it. Old Reddit does not have the option. Using [RES](https://redditenhancementsuite.com/) will disable it too. The way to give it is to hover over the upvote button next to a post. Reddit replaced awards with a contributor program. https://www.reddit.com/contributor-program https://techcrunch.com/2023/09/25/reddit-will-start-paying-you-real-money-for-your-karma/ I have questions on if a contributor program is a good idea. People will try to bot it. Mods may abuse their power to assist their contributor accounts and ban other contributors. And more. Reddit changed their API. A lot of posters have said that this made the site worse. A lot of subs used third party tool to moderate and the API change made those not work. Reddit is not yet profitable. Based on a quick look, advertiser revenue continues to grow. That is a good sign. But why are they doing an IPO now? Has the flow of investor money dried up?
Institutional shareholders will pressure Reddit to do even more things to make the users hate the site and leave. Kiss "old" reddit goodbye, even more ads, blocking the site if you run an ad blocker, killing RES extension, removing all ability to customize the user experience. They will include certain subreddits in everyone's feeds even if they didn't ask for it, etc. This will be a trainwreck and the site will be a memory for most people in 5-6 years. Reddit is dying, and becoming a publicly traded company will only hasten the death. Ride those puts until the share price reaches 0.
Same. I'm pretty sure a lot of the super high karma accounts ("power users" maybe?) run old reddit, RES, and ad-blockers galore. I only see ads while I'm on the app, which is fucking atrocious, I have no idea how this company has a $5 billion valuation lol
ublock + old reddit + RES. Not so bad on my computer. On the reddit app, they're there, but my brain just scrolls by it.
I have uBlock origin i think thats blocking it or RES im not sure which one. I don't see any ads on my computer. Phone i do. Until i Revance reddit
This or them attempting to kill RES would be the end for me
On mobile or are you using RES on computer?
is there a RES plugin or some shit im missing or are all of you mobile losers? what i imagine are emojis look to me like ": 4275 :"

/u/JewJesus96 has said some insightful things this evening, but I can't upvote him, because he would become my most upvoted user according to RES.
thx. I use RES, pretty sure it wouldn't work with that.
Im always curious how newer members use reddit. I've been here a while, didn't realize I had hit the 10 year mark but there's the badge, and I still cling to browsing reddit prior to most changes of the last 5-6 years. Old.reddit with RES overlay, on mobile I still use RIF via apk upload after the 3rd party app purge and RIF emulates the reddit.old style. I feel like the variation of posts I get nowadays is much more limited on /all. That may be due to RES but Im not sure. Reddit desktop browsing has always had an issue where if you go to next page you'll see many of the same posts from page 1 just relisted now on the second page. Prior to the /all nsfw sub purge I feel like this was less of an issue, probably because there were more subreddits to show. Also there was a change at one point to how the point system works and I felt in that time prior t the change posts didnt stay up on the first page for more than like 8 hours and posts RARELY got above 8 or 9k points before being cycled.
Is it an addon or something??? I use RES
Probably use RES and expand all comment then ctrl+f
I don't understand how people don't use old reddit. New reddit is trash. RES dark mode, with all subreddit styles turned off. \*chefs kiss*
> Are you aware you can hold the upvote arrow and it opens a string of higher tier upvote arrows Not on RES it doesn't
One of the guidelines for trading options is to use very liquid tickers. These tickers will tend to enable fast fills for better prices due to the higher volume of options being traded. Illiquid options have the risk of not filling, or filling for a worse price due to the often wide Bid-Ask. These can also be difficult to close since so few trade them. These low liquidity tickers and options should be cautiously considered because of these risks. It is always advantageous to trade higher liquidity tickers and options. Low volume tickers will have a limited option chain and strikes, which is the case for RES as it is a very low volume ticker. The ToS platform does show Put strike prices below the current ticker price at 5 and 2.5, however, there is no Open Interest so these are illiquid. IBKR may not show these strikes because of the lack of liquidity. Contact them to ask.
437, 428 & 426 have not even entered into the picture this week. 420 is a major Key Level. How does price a tion not justify this ? Look at yesterday chart. 420 was major RES setting up a short at open then became major SUP setting up a long. Get back in the Lab bro

I know exactly what to RES tag you...
choose old reddit with RES. its so much more pleasing

I have them RES marked from the last time their main got banned.
I know, I was just saying I use RES. But also u/visualmod wont work after the changes
Opinion uses RIF, not RES. Also most of RES goes through sessions, not the api.
I also use RES. But the RES dev said he can bypass restrictions
My mind is blown after looking, it looks like I actually do have Old Reddit Redirect installed alongside RES after all... I always thought it was just RES but nope, I can't find an option in it either; sorry about that
I know what old.Reddit is, but what is RES?
RES, RIF, and Apollo. They **are** the real reddit for so many active users. Reddit management have their heads so far up their a$$es that they have no idea about this.
13 years here. You nailed it. RES and old.reddit are required for desktop usage.
I've been using RES and RIF for so long that I forgot they weren't regular ass reddit.
Same deal, except I just stuck with old.reddit+RES from the get-go.
Frankly I've used RIF and RES for so long every time I see the baseline product I am amazed people actually use reddit... I've said this in other subs over the last month but I would have been way less surprised if Reddit tried to buy one of these apps rather than killing them because their base product isn't comparable.
I'm less then a month shy of 17 years on here. You nailed it. Until I found RES, reddit was painful. old.reddit + RES is the way I use it. going to take the week off next week and see what happens. It might be time to find something else to do ;)
Any time I have to set up my PC anew, along with Firefox, I always install RES, along with FF plugins that redirect to "old.reddit.com". I don't even attempt to open Reddit on a browser before doing all this.
Me too, but that's not a reddit-native feature (or wasn't when I installed RES)
I blocked this guy a long time ago on RES so I barely see any of his bogus posts that always gets massive upvotes in the community along with trash subreddits. What this guy post is just garbage that I'm so glad there are developers that worked on RES who caught wind of all the trash contents, filtered it, and shared it to the community.
I use apollo, old.reddit, and RES. Once those are gone, I am too.
If you were capable of forcing a poll on all the users of reddit, I think you would find that a majority of them had never heard of RES. I think you would also find that most of them haven't really messed with browser extensions. 78% of social media users access social media exclusively through their phone. That means they are used to and prefer an app-like experience when browsing, which new reddit caters to. Old reddit is a forum-like experience, not a social media-like experience, despite Reddit really having positioned itself as a social media site for years now. *You* might not like the redesign and that's perfectly valid. However, new reddit is used by twice as many users as old reddit and both are severely, severely dwarfed by mobile app users. Old reddit is around 5-15% of traffic depending on the subreddit. If old reddit + RES was *objectively* better than the alternatives, then why aren't those numbers higher? I constantly see old reddit mentioned everywhere but not necessarily RES, is that it? Or are users widely opposed to add-ons? Or is it possible the redesign appeals to others, just not you, and this whole thing is just subjective?
How can you do it in RES? I never found the option before, thanks!
12 year "desktop only" user here...if it weren't for RES and "old Reddit" I straight up would not be on Reddit any more. New Reddit is fucking atrocious and RES is just a necessity to me at this point. So it remains to to be seen if this is the end of my Reddit journey...though honestly, I spend so much time here, I probably should just cut it out anyway as all it seems to do is piss me off and waste time.
If you’re using old.Reddit without Reddit enhancement suite, you’re doing it wrong. Old+RES is 1000x better than the dogshit redesign
Oh man, I completely forgot about RES. rip.
There’s a post in the RES sub that says the extension will be fine.
old.reddit + RES is the only way to make browsing reddit tolerable! friendly tip to use RES to hide all comment and post karma and awards. reduces a lot of UI clutter
same. friendly tip to use RES to hide all comment and post karma and awards. reduces a lot of UI clutter
Old.reddit + RES is literally the only thing holding Reddit together. Because that's where us power users live. And if these tools go, us power users are gone. Then you're just left with the 90% of people who only read and don't contribute anything.
old.reddit + RES hiding all comment and post karma, awards is the only way browsing reddit is tolerable
It's innovation for the sake of innovation, many different features and accesibility features were churned in and out all the time to make it better. I don't care what kind of user I am, RES literally was the fundemntal quark of reddit now. We know why they did this. It was Ads, a majority of their mobile traffic was its own website and not the app. They couldnt monopolise all of it and have resorted to actually diminishing the features and usability it once had. I cant use reddit on mobile anymore. IF i use the mobile site, 70% of content is indirectly affected by NSFW, if i use the app, i can hardly follow through on anything due to random bugs and design changes. ITs not thats it the worst thing in the world Its that its had a long fucking time to improve the app in various ways and it hasn't its turning into tiktok and twitter combined. Its actively pushing users like me away and no one should support such negative approaches. It has a vast potential thats being wasted. This remind you of anyone guys??
Yeah I was so happy when RES posted that how they operate shouldn't be impacted by the API changes.
