I think you have a pretty good grasp of what's going on. I also work in the electricity industry in the Southeastern US, and the promises of bitcoin mining are overhyped. to say the least. Some utilities in the SE (Duke Energy, Dominion) are rushing towards 100% clean energy by 2050 due to local state laws, and additional load will always make this transition harder, not easier. Can BTC mining be set up on a DSM type program to mitigate its impact to the grid? Absolutely. It requires innovative rate designs, but interruptible load tariffs are already a thing across the country. It can certainly reduce the peak - which reduces the need to build new generation - but it still contributes to total load that must be met. For example, there is a proposed program in Ohio that would allow a bitcoin miner to connect behind the meter at a nuclear plant. The reasoning is, when you need to reduce the output of the inflexible nuclear plant, you could turn up the BTC mining rig to consume energy that's not needed. But, that energy could also charge a battery located at the local substation, and that battery could discharge zero carbon energy at another time, when it's needed to meet demand. So where's the gain for ratepayers? Bitcoin mining can be good for other ratepayers, if tariffs are properly designed, because high load factor customers can help provide more MWh to spread rate base around. But ultimately, the more you consume low-cost, low-carbon energy to mine bitcoin, that energy is no longer available to serve residential, commercial, and industrial demand. You've got the right idea to be skeptical of these claims.

Lol so it’s not decentralized any more than reddit is just a new form of centralized entities There’s actual blockspace projects like LIKE and DSM those are real decentralized social media but unfortunately no one will want to pay for socializing ( free transactions leave your platform open to spam and ddos (this subreddit dude above will learn that quick) ) I think we’re wayyys away from decentralized social media being big I think there’s too much money involved, moons are enough to probably have r/cryptocurrency 4x larger than what I was two years ago; I wonder if the secret sauxe is in incentivizing users with crypto?
Copyright owners have taken to appropriating works instead of suing people. The main reason is that web platforms can use safe-harbour laws to side step liability. So it's difficult for copyright owners to take effective action. However that is changing in the EU under the DSM Copyright directive. Web platforms have to remove infringing content once they've been made aware and then to get it back online up-loaders need to provide proof of a license. Effectively making the web platforms liable as publishers themselves under "communication to the public" laws in the EU.
Assuming you Kept all the airdrops and staked them, close to 6 figures for some. Juno was airdropped 1:1 ratio per atom staked. Juno currently is around $45. Probably in 4-5 figures if you kept and staked the osmo airdrop. ION airdrop was for specific osmo validator if I recall, I think ION ATH was $25k? Neta airdrop was $10k for juno stakers but it went up to $20k. There was a $10k bonus HuaHua airdrop for specific juno validator also. Few other airdrops worth 3-4 figures (stars, DSM, etc). So most likely 5-6 figures if you kept them all and staked or pooled them.

It takes a Psychiatrist to actually diagnose, but it seemed like OP was just offering his opinion. He mentioned his degree to add merit to his opinion... completely reasonable. My meager flex would be a Psych minor & even I'm fully capable of utilizing the DSM-V to make an educated presumption.
If you were truly knowledgeable, you would know that a PhD is required to diagnose. I do not have that. Also, negative diagnoses isn’t a technical term. It much easier to dismiss a diagnoses than to give one. Take a look at the DSM-5 and you’ll quickly see he MOST LIKELY does not have NPD.

I think it was around 100 per atom for HuaHua. Those early days had 1000%+ staking rate, crazy compounding it 4-5 a day lol. Stars been holding $0.60-0.80 pretty well. DSM though… that just flopped in price.
