ITT: a lot of people assuming that if BTC was started in the 80s the technology wouldn't support widespread adoption. I can disagree with this from a feasibility perspective, but also keep in mind that bitcoin was started in 2009 and wasn't widely adopted at first. It's still in its infancy now. If bitcoin were started in the 80s it might've remained a theoretical or marginal platform for a long time, but the proliferation of the Internet into the household brought forth a lot of theoretical, marginal, or inaccessible technologies that already existed. I argue that the Internet would've been adopted much more quickly and willingly if it had included its own currency and method of exchange. This rapid adoption might not have been a good thing, though. The beginnings of the internet were open standards, open source, and a free exchange. Commercialization and leveraging of the Internet for corporate interests has definitely changed the landscape. If that period of open organic growth was shortened, we might have missed out on a lot of developments that thrived in the open early days.

ITT: People who don't read the article mischaracterizing what's happening and bitching about democrats. The title is misleading as well, can we get some moderation? >Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen continues her pitch for the Biden administration's proposal that would **require banks to report inflows and outflows of accounts with more than $600 of activity over the course of a year** to the IRS \[...\] > > > >In a clip aired Tuesday evening, CBS News' Norah O'Donnell asked Yellen regarding the plan, "Does this mean that the government is trying to peek into our pocketbooks if you want to look at $600 transactions?" "Absolutely not," the treasury secretary replied, insisting, "I think this proposal has been seriously mischaracterized. **The proposal involves no reporting of individual transactions of any individual."**

ITT: everyone listing high market cap tokens 1. others have mentioned exchanges but I use Kraken, Coinbase, and Gemini at the moment. Kraken and Coinbase won’t really get you the low cap coins but they are reliable. 2. Low cap coins: Covalent Query Token // CQT (similar to GRT) and other on-chain data feeds/APIS eg PARSIQ // PRQ. Synthetic token mirrors such as Centrifuge // CFG, Mirror Protocol // MIR, and Synthetix // SNX. However, SNX is >$1b. Giving you a heads up for the fields of interest right now. Algorand has some mirroring solutions as well but haven’t looked into it. 3. ERC-20 is the Ethereum fungible token standard and ERC-721/ERC-1155 are the non-fungible token standards. ie if someone is going to mint a new token they should adhere to the guidelines set by the aforementioned standards. ERC-1155 is the updated NFT standard, iirc

But who governs the one-time activation? What you’ve described is exactly how it runs now. If anyone could build a hotspot what would stop a billion virtual hotspot deployments appearing in Siberia? There’s a lot of wild speculation ITT around motivations, which is understandable. I get it. But you are literally saying ‘People should do their homework’ when you’ve not done any. For example. The AVERAGE ROI on a $500 hotspot right now is 78 days. That’s the average earnings of all the hotspots on the network. Some of those are in wardrobes, sure. Some are on 100ft masts. Mileage will vary. Light hotspots will be <$100 and far easier to make. Due in the coming months. 5G hotspots are still very cost effective when compared with the $80k (if not more) MNO deployments. Remuneration isn’t even in the HIP stage yet (Helium improvement protocol) and when it is, the Community will vote on whether it goes ahead or not.

A lot of the top commentors ITT clearly didn't read the article because this was not a random shit coin. This was about Solana NFTs. Uzi's involvement was crucial in marketing the NFTs which included promises of an exclusive performance which may or may not happen. He also mentioned in a deleted tweet that the NFTs, which minted for 2.5 SOL, would "easily" hit a floor of 6+ SOL in value. To me this isn't even a rug pull scam, even though it's still a scam. The NFTs still exist, but the value sank when Uzi appeared to start distancing himself from the project.
