My car just cost me £1000 to get through its MOT, that's my DCA money for a couple of months gone. At least I'll be able to drive about yelling at people to buy ETH and BTC like a maniac.

Use the DCA money. There is no saying what may flag up on the MOT and clutches can be very expensive.
First world dilemma: a car has come up for sale that is a really good price, used car warranty, full history and loads of extras for a very good price…my current car is getting tired and due it’s MOT and coming up a clutch. The choice between using DCA money to get a good deal or holding out and hoping my clutch lasts until 2025…oh the decisions (I know this isn’t a bad problem to have also)

If your last MOT shows 50k miles, technically a scammy MOT garage could put your official miles at 50.01k for the next one. With blockchain, it the mileage would be tracked the whole time making it tamper-proof.
Like the UK .gov website thats tracks MOT tests although its only updated yearly once a new MOT has happened. Not really different to this since you have to go to an Alfa garage to get the data updated anyway.
Fair enough. Maybe it's just me, but I don't need to be told twice to kick back & relax. If I get a plumber to assess my boiler, or mechanic to MOT the car, I don't find it difficult to accept & roll with their expert opinion.

But thats rare I'm told. Just get the police to quit within one minute and the chopper ain't even starting procedures. If I get to that point in my life then ill know I made it. Well, for the past several years we've been driving an on the verge of falling apart 2003 Honda civic. Last week it failed it's MOT and our mechanic said it's terminal and there's no point trying to fix it. So today, we went and bought another car (Mazda 3), paid 10k in cash.
It really isn’t. I pay around £120 a month TAX. Brand new car, almost free fuel, no road tax or MOT and if it breaks then I don’t have to pay for a repair. If it depreciates it doesn’t affect me.Trust me, I know that it’s a better deal for me than having my own car…
