tldr; POGs NFT will launch 3,800 POGs and slammers on the Ethereum blockchain this week. The NFTs can be used within a slate of upcoming POG-based video games, which are set to launch this summer. The first play-to-earn POG game, called Stack and Slam, will first debut on Solana. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. As always, DYOR.*

Last time I checked this conservative (libertarian) leaning Bitcoiner (me), the horribly corrupt GOP (more like POG, Party of grifters) is the one that tried (and failed) to stage a coup in order to permanently install their favorite wannabe authoritarian to become an ACTUAL authoritarian. The proof is there, deny it if you will. January 6th was, is and will always be the first time anyone ever tried (like hell) to institute an authoritarian government in the USA. This time the right is wrong and despite my differing political views I stand with the middle and left to shine a light on the absolute corruption and hypocrisy of the GOP. Truth matters.

Oh shit my story starts a little after yours and my attitude was different, but the ending isn't dissimilar I started mining back either at the end of 2011 before the first halving or 2012 a little after. I got my hands on this nifty little OS called Backtrack 5 (r2 if it matters to anyone familiar with it) and was blown away by how amazing the toolkits that came installed with it. I was a novice with Linux so it was such a learning curve, but how fun it was to be on the bleeding edge of something, so I kept my ear to the ground for new tech that would also be similar. I heard about Bitcoin from a few different sources (the person who got me into backtrack, Reddit had a few smaller subs I was a part of at the time that had a discussion on it, and a few others). I learned I could buy weed by mining this "bitcoin" thing and keep my cash, this was amazing to 18 year old me. I tried reading the whitepaper and couldn't even make it passed the abstract, it seemed to be super technically sound to me (who wasn't as well versed in technology as now) Enter my mining phase - I can't remember the details exactly but it was either a few hundred BTC in total I mined, or a few dozen worth a few hundred close to the end of 2012. I couldn't find anyone who would take BTC in my area (yayyyy bumfuck nowhere), and my parents were SUPER controlling so I didn't want to order online and risk them finding the weed I ordered, but it was about this time I found out Coinbase was created (IIRC they were formed summer of 2012 and I found out that fall) and tried creating an account to be able to buy/sell (probably mostly sell, but I like flexibility and keeping my options open). Coinbase ignored my requests, and I gave up in the winter (lolz their customer service has sucked major dick for almost a decade now) and said fuck it, I'll just sit on it now and worry about it later I forgot all about BTC until 2015/6 where my wallet had been inactive for a few years now. I was on a deployment in Afghanistan and was stuck on a POG job for a few months (meaning I had access to a computer and internet every day for a month or two), and saw that BTC had started to climb wayyyyy higher and I was rushing to find my old wallet - luckily I had brought the same laptop with my old wallet.dat file backed up on it. Enter my attempt to join a few different exchanges, and again I went ignored (for some reason I couldn't get an exchange to verify me to save my life). Again, I decided to say "fuck it, I will leave it until a later time" When I get back stateside, I opened the bag where my laptop was and saw my laptop was cracked to shit. I had a computer buddy try to pull what he could from it, but to no avail. The wallet, worth at least hundreds of thousands by this point, was lost to me forever. I wrote off my wallet as lost for good, took my a long time to come to terms with that I learned from my mistakes and started mining again (not BTC this time though), all of my seed phrases are backed the hell up now (short of a stroke or amnesia, I'm not losing them ever lmao). I tried one last time to join Coinbase and Binance (only to get ignored yet AGAIN) and decided I'd find better exchanges at a different point in case I wanted to buy/sell, with customer service being the first factor I looked for. People who got into this space pretty early made a lot of mistakes, and people who got in recently don't understand how buggy everything was back then (at least my experience was buggy af). To get your fucking wallet up and running correctly, you needed to sacrifice your fucking firstborn, granted the UI still can be improved a lot but people don't understand how smooth it is now compared to then. What a ride it has been, I can't wait to see where the space goes moving forward All of this is to say that you're not the only one who made mistakes (; and this is coning from someone who took this a little more seriously too (so a different viewpoint than you too)

I've been a gamer for 37 years, I'm a big fan of Crypto, and I think NFT's in gaming (yes alone an NFT that has multiple copies) is just about the dumbest shit I've ever heard of. People have likened them to works of art, or baseball cards (you don't want to meet a room full of adult baseball card collectors btw, ugh). Paying for extras in games makes you a complete dweeb anyways. I think NFT's are the POG's of technology. No one is going to give a shit about them in 5 years, probably more like 2. People are going to realize how fucking dumb it is along with 95% of the crypto out there right now. Why in God's name would I want to play some shirts nft game on my phone when I have a PS4 pro and a PC, and a "modded" wii with just about every game you can think of? The best example of how dumb this concept is, is showcased with META and that $300,000 Virtual Yacht in a stupid games that looks like shit. On a final rant- Zuckerberg is also like the George Lucas of the Internet (there is no way George Lucas penned the the original 3 Star Wars) just like Zucky didn't invent Facebook, (lookup project Lifelog: MIT) The goverment might as well give him a big lollipop and a helicopter hat and send him down to the park with baseball cards and a van full of candy. Because that's what this shit is. He is trying to scar you for life in something worse than an '84 dodge van, a virtual yacht that costs $300,000 dollars to violate the last remaining crumbs of your privacy while he's wearing nothing but a captains hat.

Honestly, like so many things, NFTs can have good uses, but there is probably much more likelihood of developers utilizing them as some crappy way to make more revenue. In crypto one of the most fun types of NFT are POAPs, free badges that you can collect by attending conferences, meetups, video calls, community chats etc, they basically just act as diary markers for your crypto life. Sometimes they can be used to unlock access to certain Discord channels, sometimes they are used for raffles (such as the physical Beacon Books given to lucky members of the Bankless and EthFinance communites), sometimes they are used to allocate voting power in DAOs or increase grant matching for quadratic public goods donations. Basically you get them for free and different communities find/build different ways to use them. If this type of NFT was what the gaming industry adopted then they could be used as a universal 'achievements' mechanism, with inter-game usage. How about allocating a POG (proof of gaming) token automatically to early playtesters that allows them to jump up server queues, or for community run servers maybe the owners award POGs to people who contribute to technical discussions or mission design or whatever, then maybe that gets shown next to their name in player lists just as a little acknowledgment of their help. For inter-game use, I play a couple of combat flight sims, IL2 and DCS, both have multiplayer servers where you can participate in long, multi-hour campaigns. If I complete a long WW2 battle flying a Mig 3 in IL2, then wouldn't it be cool if a medal for that showed up when I was playing DCS on a Korean war server in a Mig 15. Completely different games by different developers, but there could be benefits for players treating them as kind of part of the same overall metaverse. I don't play MSFS, but if someone had completed the tutorials and gained some hours flying a Spitfire in that game, then how about having DCS detect that when you want to take the Spit out in combat and offering a reduced tutorial, just focusing on things not included in MSFS (gunnery presumably). There are so many cool uses for NFTs in gaming, but tradable items, cosmetics, lootbox keys or whatever is not the way to benefit gamers.
