No, leverage doesn’t cost some of the initial investment. They may have an Expense Ratio. But it should not be a lot. You need to research a bit about how leveraged stocks/ETF behave. There is something called as “time decay” Imagine you have a stock of ABC company at 100$ today. And a 2X leveraged of that same stock. Let’s call it ABCL and is also trading at 100$ Let’s say ABC stock goes down 40% today. ABC is now trading at 60$ But, ABCL will go down 80%. ABCL will now trade at 20$. Next day, imagine: ABC stock goes up 66%. Which means ABCL will go up 132% (2X) Now, ABC is 60$ * 1.66 (66%) =$99.60 (back to original price) But, ABCL is 20$ * 2.32 (132%) = $46.40 ABC is back to 100$ ABCL is still at 46.40$ This is how leveraged stocks work. You can lose a lot if the stock goes down and up a lot.
yeah, i run similar, my 401 goes to the fidelity version of spy and the ira/roth are mainly voo/vgt with a newer NATO etf i've been buying and then various stocks like RKLB, LTBR, ABCL, NVIDIA and the sort that I've picked up along the way
Good take. $ABCL has real fundamentals. I’ve been using tickr-bio to track biotech events lately, it’s actually pretty useful for stuff like this.

I did this a couple months or so ago on ABCL, got $5 calls out to January. Wish I remembered what the company does

Any thoughts in here on ABCL or RUM?
I’ve had this on a watchlist for 4 months. No news and 3x volume today… Unless someone has the scoop, I’m wondering if it’s being pulled up by the PFE jet stream. a lot of bio tech and healthcare seemed to move over the last 48 hours on the Pfizer news. $NTLA, $ABCL, $NUVB (yesterday), $MRNA, $NVAX, $MERCK… all up.
sometimes you just have to buy a stock and let it sit, ABCL is one of the few stocks in the green today and i wasn’t expecting it
No. I just gave it a shot. Like ABCL.
ABCL out of penny stock land 🥹 so proud
$ABCL $GRAB open your eyes mates!<3
ATCH is this subs current darling, it’s done well but the minute it tanks everyone here will be acting like they all knew it was coming. Pump and dumps are fine if you know and can handle the risks but if you want real possible penny stocks investments I’ve got a few im watching. - HGRAF (I am balls deep on this one. Pre revenue highly speculative graphene company. Tons of risk as there always is with penny stocks but it could be one of those life changing stocks that you can get into before it blows up to unbelievable levels. - RR Robotics company with massive upside - PNG, Kraken Robotics. Fun little Canadian company that won’t be little for long. Defence and had close ties and contracts to Anduril which is a giant. - ABCL. A long term bio company that could be huge. People claim it is the palantir of biotech because of how they leverage AI to make money on finding antibodies for other companies. Also developing two of their own drugs. Royalties will be the big money maker but this is a very long term hold as in 3-5 years +
ABCL up almost 10% today but I can’t find out why
What do people here think about SLDP, RUM & ABCL ?
In this for the long run OVID ABCL and SLS if anyone wants to hop on never say nobody didn’t warn yall ahead of time
$ABCL and $MBOT are the plays for this bulltember
Okay, here’s the math: ABC starts at $100. ABC drops to 40% to $60. ABC then grows 66.7% to get back to $100. ABCL, leveraged at .75x, starts at $100. ABCL drops 30% to $70. ABCL then grows 50% to $105. ABCL shrinks and then grows at 75% of ABC, and ends up at $105, while ABC is at $100. As others have pointed out, this is relatively easy to do on your own, so it doesn’t make sense to have an expensive ETF do it. But the math is right
You did the math wrong in your first example. ABC goes up 4%, but only goes down 3.85% to get back to 100. ABCL goes up to $103, then back down to $100.03. ABCL ends up ahead
No. You will get superior returns investing only $75 in ABC and $25 in a short term bond than $100 in ABCL. You also are not including the management fee.
Why would you pay $1 for only 75% of the benefit of stock growth? Just buy $75 of the stock instead of $100. $100 ABCL. Stock goes up 4%. Your ABCL goes to $103. Stock goes down 4%. Your ABCL goes down to $99.88. You lost 12 cents $75 ABC. Stock goes up 4%. ABC goes up to $78. Stock goes down 4%. ABC goes to $74.88. You lost 12 cents. Difference is you can invest the extra $25 into a short term bond and earned guaranteed income and beat ABCL returns
$ABCL Crazy: Short Interest: 39,805,894 shares Short Interest % Float: 19.63% Source: NASDAQ (short interest), Capital IQ (float) This combination, a sharp increase in short interest + no price drop, often creates very explosive moves if the stock moves upward
I chose $ABCL over ONDS and ChatGPT confirmed it was the better choice
$ABCL unique system for Ai drug discovery, patented tech, applications are endless. Palatir of Pharma.
I like SRPT and have a position in it. I think it's unfairly kept down, it may go up but it's probably going to be choppy. I don't know about ABCL, didn't do any research on that one. IMO short term potential VKTX >>> SRPT, SRPT doesn't really have short term catalysts coming.
As a bio quant, would you say VKTX is a better buy than ABCL or SRPT?
What do you guys think about ABCL earnings? Was it good or just indifferent? What will it do today? Up or down?

Bought some ABCL shares.... helmets on for ER. Good luck all if you are riding this pod.
I think ABCL is a long term diamond hand. I bought few shares when it was like 2$ish off of some dude's good dd on here. Can't find the link but you can search for it. It's CEO also has a good rappot. In short, I am adding and holding this for long. NFA.
$ABCL earnings on Thu after market close.
Any thoughts/ideas on the upcoming results of ABCL?
No, my best guess is $ABCL which I have been accumulating for the past few months
NFA but I'd watch $OPEN tomorrow. Also, ABCL this week they might be brewing for a breakout.
I think $ABCL has the chance to be the next big rip, been selling covered calls to buy shares for the past 1yr
I like SRPT, SONM, and RR here. Also ABCL is a good bet.
$APLD puts, $F calls, $INTC calls, $QS calls, $NIO calls and $ABCL puts. May make more moves but so far these seem to be the best.
I was hyped on ABCL until that PT came in and smacked me back to reality. Got stock and calls, so I’m in too deep to be rational now 😂
Anyone knows why ABCL is doing so bad? Is there a reason? And what about MBOT?
What’s annoying is that ABCL does have good prospects, but then dickheads just cause it to get pumped, dumped and forgotten
ABCL (the palatir of drug discovery)
The next PLTR is ABCL
Your absolutely late. But if you want to be early have a look at ABCL
ABCL has taken a jump in the last few days. Worth keeping an eye on.
Where is the dude who posted DD about $ABCL earlier? That shit rippin. Might have to jump in tomorrow
Keep in mind that ABCL used to make money on royalties but lost all its research partnerships and now only seems to be pursuing there own therapies. I am deep underwater on this stock thinking they were going to be the future of AI-simulated theories. What a flop that's been, I'd happily break even. Right now they have one therapy for eczema that may get me there. I would put money on some other company steamrolling their business model now that AI has so rapidly developed. If their investor presentations aren't about how they're leveraging modern AI and hiring the fuck out of engineers to chase that they're going to be dust soon.
Love this type of DD. That’s exactly why I created the r/ABCL community! Your thesis is the same as mine.
Abcellera (ABCL) given its antibody discovery platform, which is essentially becoming a key infrastructure in the biotech industry. Their technology allows for the rapid discovery of therapeutic antibodies, and with high-profile collaborations already in place (like with Eli Lilly), they have a solid foundation for future cash flow. But do your own research before diving in!
Is it a good time to enter ABCL or OPEN ?
I have worked in pharma for 20 years. That’s not even the correct use of these terms. ABCL doesn’t make antibodies, it discovers them, and the partner produces them. Any clinical researcher would know this. You’d also know that discovering antibodies is not at all a solved problem. The company I work for has an internal platform but we outsource our most challenging targets to specialist CROs.
FYI for any interested readers, this guy constantly deletes his comments and has several alts where he replies to himself. He always claims something slightly different (sometimes he's a cancer doctor, sometimes he's a CFA, sometimes he's a surgeon, sometimes he's a med student, sometimes it's his daughter in law or nephew who works there, etc.). His style is unmistakable, and the one consistent thing is he has a hate boner for ABCL and talks about how anyone who isn't a doctor is poor. I suspect he was an ex colleague of the CEO who has some crazy jealousy or something. One time he claimed he made $30m shorting ABCL but deleted everything when he got called out on that. While doing research on ABCL before opening a position I found all his old stuff. He's widely known and made fun of in ABCL discussions on reddit. For the substantive part, obviously antibodies aren't anything new. The technological differentiation is in the microfluidic discovery platform (read the patents if you're interested). And the business model, which is based on doing hundreds of projects to generate a diversified portfolio of drugs.
Wake up boys. The short setup on $ABCL is ridiculous and nobody seems to notice. Utilization has been maxed for weeks, borrow rates keep creeping up, and shorts are already sitting on 15 percent of the float while institutions hold around 60 percent and insiders another 20 percent. The float is tight as hell and one decent wave of volume could blow this wide open. This isn’t some random biotech with no cash, this is a loaded balance sheet and a pipeline about to drop milestones. You’ve seen what happens when WSB wakes up late, don’t let this be one of those times.
They are moving towards internally developing their own pipeline of drugs such as ABCL635, which is set to begin clinical trials later this year
Absolutely. To be clear, this is a high risk play. I see huge upside if it takes off, and I think that's more likely than not given the fundamentals, but this can absolutely go to zero if everything goes wrong. I do think it's safer than traditional biotech however because they have a diversified portfolio. Many of the more volatile biotechs have their fate tied to a single drug, meanwhile ABCL has over a hundred shots on goal
What tariffs? ABCL doesn’t even have commercialized drugs yet. No products = no sales = no exposure to pharma tariffs. Their revenue comes from discovery partnerships and platform deals, not selling drugs.
They don't even know that it's ABCD not ABCL already looking like a failure in my eyes.
\> This isn’t just a biotech play. This is the infrastructure for everybody else’s biotech plays. Well said. I see ABCL for biotech what NVDA is for AI. When everyone's investing in drugs, invest in drug shovels, or something.
ABCL is a crayon-certified biotech YOLO
This is exactly the kind of post I wanted to see. I’ve been loading up ABCL like a maniac, and I’m convinced people are still underestimating what’s coming. The royalty pipeline alone is a ticking time bomb. The market has no clue how big this can get once those milestone payments start flowing. Pair that with Hansen and Montalbano buying in size recently, and you know insiders are preparing for liftoff. This isn’t just a biotech play. This is the infrastructure for everybody else’s biotech plays. I’m not selling a single share under $40 either
Mobileeye? I like open door. Next year could go big. It will go to $4 anyway so if it didn't you can bail out but I didn't get in. Only a small position. Any ETH like SBet. Got diluted 2 billion shares. Market didn't care? Like some of the suggestions on here for a deeper dive. I can see osvar rising after United health earnings if they give guidance. ABCL peptides I like. Should have bought that.
Used to hold all of them. Good stocks. Only one i am currently holding is IXHL. ABCL SHOULD DEFINITELY BE LONG TERM FOR YOU.
I believe in the power of this lounge. ABCL,CTM,OPEN, IXHL. Now, all I have to learn is how to take profits, that's where I need to be clinical 😀.
$ABCL is a new approaching candidate. Look at the all time chart and then look at what's been happening the past 2 months. Shorts can't control it anymore. Enjoy
I like AMPX, SRFM, IXHL, and ABCL. These could go bankrupt tomorrow or to $100 a share in a year. Who knows 🤷♂️
