The fact that this is a Roth IRA kinda screwed me last week because I wanted to buy BBWI calls, which I did on my small margin account, but couldn’t on here bc the UNHG shares hasn’t settled, and Chase doesn’t let you day trade on cash accounts or you get a strike, and I missed out on what would have been a 100% gain as the stock went up 20%+ since then Got a little bit of gain in my margin meme account but I don’t all in with that account. Focusing on shitcos like Place For Children and BBWI were definitely a big factor in my losses. But a lot of non-ai core large caps (Amazon, ADBE, CRM (which I played), Google until August 2025, etc) were a big let down.

The 17.50 call for 11/21 had zero volume on Friday, and only 3 open interest according my brokerage. A quick glace at yahoo shows last traded in September. BBWI has earnings on the 20th so IV is going crazy in the front week (and it's pretty high IV generally too), it means nothing more than that.

Solid core with RTX, MFST, NVDA, and COST... I've got Lulu in at a similar sizing in my portfolio (posted on this thread). I like their value right now and think the company will keep cruising along... I've also been thinking about adding OTIS. I think it's a hold forever stock.... BBWI and Rivian jump out at me as the two I wouldn't buy when I've looked at them in the past.
Might be worth holding BBWI until Decemberish time-frame… historically this is a low spot and it climbs going into December.

These stocks basically suck. No one should own Intel - really? And Bed Bath and Body Works-Jeez! Salesforce is lugging along, but WTH are you doing? Who are you reading, listening to, following? Block them from now on, whoever it is. Sell Intel and BBWI. Keep CRM for now. Set up weekly auto-investing cash that's generated and buy ETFs that track the NASDAQ (like QQQ) and S&P (like SPY) so you can get back into the market. Put 50-75% of your portfolio into these ETFs. In a couple of years, hopefully, you will have gained some wisdom in stock picking and can select 3-5 individual stocks to slowly pick up positions in. Good luck 👍
Thanks. 50K is too big of a setback to digest so I’m gonna wait and see how BBWI does in Dec with the holidays (my biggest position). It peaked last year around that time. Definitely sticking to ETFs once I get my money out.
Stop relying on analysts. No one is going to care more about your money than you. Sell it all and put it in VOO. You are not factoring opportunity cost. Sure BBWI hits your target in 5 years but in that same time VOO doubles. Would you still feel like you won?

Hahaha. Pictures and stories of how crowded a store is. This is giving me BBWI vibes from last year where the new dad was analyzing store traffic patterns and talking about how much traffic they were getting. Guidance was poor during that ER and the price plummeted.

It is difficult for me to understand what makes this company attractive. The consumer they appeal to are people who only use coupons to visit. Even my girlfriend only comes to BBWI when there are coupons, and the kicker is we are rich. I’d much rather own LVMH, LULU, VFC, CROX, or DECK at these prices if we’re comparing retailers.
Sigh... Bath and body works? Really? Really? Retail is dieing right and left, and you think this place is going to pull a rabbit out of its hat... BBWI is stuck in malls, facing extreme headwinds for luxury goods and has to compete with cheaper options that are just as good albeit lower brand recognition... IF you like retail, look at Autozone, Dollar stores(five below, dollar general, etc...), O'rielly, Costco. etc... Something that has a moat and cannot be replaced easily by online, or is reliant on another business to survive.

No idea how to upload stuff, old lady here. Got the Bath and Body Works Disney Princess colab email last week, immediately went to the website to buy all of their stuff. Didn't actually buy it because I started doing options last month and am poor now...bought some super cheap 37 and 42 dollar calls last Friday instead, sold them yesterday up like 600 something percent. People are going crazy over this stuff, even my 10 yr old daughter randomly brought up how her friend wanted to get some of the Tiana stuff but it was out of stock. I stopped going to BBWI because they got too expensive, but they're bringing some good deals back. Bought like 5 shares, if the market goes down I'll see if I can buy some more cheap calls but I think they're out of my price range now, because I spend all of my money on options and smelly stuff at Bath and Body Works.
If there's anything I learned from the BBWI guy last year, it's to opposite anyone writing up DD based on lines at the mall.

I'm calling puts on BBWI, I think they release earnings Monday morning. If Target is having problems, hard to imagine that the crowd at Bath & Body works is booming. In fact I was there a couple weeks ago when they had their major sale on all soap, every soap in the store was like $3.50 or something. Last year for each category they sold and had this sale, it was shoulder to shoulder in the store. This time, there was like 3 people, and the cashier said it had been dead all afternoon/evening. Many of you may recall the guy who was tracking people in BBWI stores around New Jersey or whatever it was last year - I played along as well because of how packed the stores were from my experience. I'm holding 50 $28 11/29 puts and 25 $33 11/29 puts. They seem to have had a huge drop in foot traffic vs last year and I suspect most customers are the same Target shoppers who didn't turn out.

Definitely a lot more offhand remarks in this thread than reasonably expected, but par for the course for current WSB vibe. That aside, the company with its very recent release has done a good job adapting and pivoting to current trends (there has been a general shift from tighter clothes to looser clothes), and that should be positively reflected in its Q4 2024 and 2024 metrics. However, I think companies like this one and BBWI (check out both 1-year charts) are at risk of becoming merely cyclical where they post great Q4 results (holiday sales) and people think that is going to be a recipe to drive further growth, and then it doesn't. Therefore, people are weary. The brand is becoming less trendy for the younger generations (also continuing to price out the younger generations), and it remains to be seen whether it will regain traction and on that note how the company will fare in maintaining an older consumer base. Adidas is up 30% YTD, but still down 16% on the 5-year chart. NKE is -22% and -11%. Although lulu is down 45% YTD, it's up 36% on the 5-year. Charting out lulu, the reasonable PT has been $350 \*if the company stays popular\* which on the first metric is going to be determined as to whether, at about the conclusion of Q1/Q2 next year, they've reversed the decline in US sales. Because that's what you ultimately need to remember, what's ringing in investors' minds is \*declining US sales\* -- if that changes, the stock price will reverse accordingly. However, just by having one good quarter (Q4 2024) or a good 2024, that will not mean the company is in the clear.
