I don't know if I'd do it that way. But you can hedge. I do think we are due for a correction sometime in the next few years. But I'm not going to bet against the whole market. You see, there are people that get money each week and need to put it somewhere. Pension funds. 401K managers. Hedge funds. These people are getting money sent to them by clients each week and the money has to go somewhere. Right now the market still looks like a safe bet. Even if it does crash its going to come back up again in a few years. Those managers still think the market is a better place to put the money than other things, like bonds or Tbills. But if the market starts going south they might change it up for a few months. You can't time the market really. What I have done is buy some of the market short ETFS. PSQ, DOG, SH. They are regular shorts of the S&P, DOW, and Nasdaq. I feel safe holding them for a short time. I wouldn't hold the ultra shorts for very long though. If the market goes down, those short funds should go up. I then sell them for a profit. Then use that money to buy cheap stocks. I'm happy if the market goes up or down. I'm not an expert though. I'm just an investor trying to come up with new ideas.

You could've maximized profits if you bought them closer to the meeting date like at close Tuesday/market open Wednesday 2. Why not get fewer call option contracts instead of 2250 shares? you can expose yourself to much greater upside putting the same amount of capital at risk 3. DOG aims to return -1x the return of the DJIA but you could maximize returns even further with SQQQ which returns -3x the NASDAQ 100 4. I like it because it gets rid of the pesky infinite risk bit that normal shorting has. I don't buy puts because if my timeline is off I'm fucked. DOG also pays a dividend that basically cuts the value decay in half.

Do you all understand that next week's CPI (Wednesday) is going to be righteous and apocalyptic? Cleveland Nowcast has August at +.8% m/m. Pretty devastating when your goal is 2% per year. Markets will absolutely shit the bed and Fed will hike rates. Even if it's an overestimation, it's usually only short or high by .01%. Position: 1900 shares of DOG at 32.66 avg.

Oh for sure. I've got 1900 shares of $DOG @ 32.66. Planning to sell at about 35 for some margarita money. Once the blue plate specials come out and the news is all human interest stories about people po'mouthing I'm gonna buy like 6000 shares of $DIV and just sit on my $12 shares forever. If I let it DRIP for a decade I'll be making 100k a year on this one trade.

Have 63k in DJIA short etf shares, deep ITM as of today. If Jpow is getting higher for longer than so am I. Position: 1900 shares of $DOG @ 32.66 avg Current price: 32.95 Up five hundo, will probably sell this one for 1.5k. Buy myself some Red Stripe and have some Steel Bottoms this weekend.
