People are fighting to buy at retail prices so they can flip them. No one is fighting to buy 350$ 151ETB
Destroys all Humans and turns them into Construct tokens upon ETB. Or Food tokens for the AI. Also, should be able to pay mana to become the Monarch.
Man that is funny I literally just made a list of the shittiest companies with ETB shares to short and placed a sell on Rivian! May the gayest ber win!
Let’s do it together. We’ll do an ETB one so the short sellers make a killing!!!!
Shorting the underlying requires margin and typically interest and not all stocks are ETB. Might be a better choice to use an inverse ETF. however, I've never done such a thing, and just short futures. No need to overthink it.
Its been like, 41 hours since I played. Is your user name MTG related? Voidmage sounds like a blue 3 mana 2/2 card with an ETB ability
What ETB are you buying for retail that you can flip for $450. Prismatic is the most hyped thing rn and that’s reselling for max like $180. Unless this is something you bought a long while ago
If you are thinking about investing in Pokemon....Vintage has had 30 years of price discovery and likely will do nothing significant. Modern has proven to have consistent gains over a pretty large amount of time by this point and booster boxes and Pokemon center ETB's are always the move. Graded cards on modern sets that are still in print is a terrible investment but once the sets are out of print is where you will see the gains start to happen People demanding MSRP are brain dead in when your box is worth $500 a couple years later, who cares if you had to pay $100 extra.
Booster boxes have better gains unless its Pokemon Center ETB's - Booster boxes historically have the shortest print runs while ETB's tend to print consistently during the block and than even a little bit after
>Pres T to sign executive order replacing all of gold in fort knox with Pokemon 151 ETB pallets.
What are you smoking lmao. You cannot do a simple ETB short sell with Robinhood and they cut you off the trade at 3:30pm. Maybe that counts as an edge for you regards
Hardly a big demand for AAPL shares for shorts. ETB
The only thing I'm watching is FDX so I can know if I can buy a Pokemon ETB box this weekend or if I have to wait til I actually get paid...
T SMCI was easy to short on Friday. It is ETB not HTB / not hard to borrow. Usually squeezes happen with low float and high short interest. Or maybe someone smarter can elaborate on this.. BTW, I’d suggest caution trading this stock. Alway have a plan and enter with a stop in place or trailing stop. The ATR was huge on Friday.
Today THUR 2/15 you could trade it long or short which means it’s easy to borrow ETB not HTB which means there was not a high short interest. But trading it was like completing with Bots 🤖 great overall uptrend but constant huge algo flushes at support resistance levels.
what is this knock out turbo bullshit, why not just short shares - NVDA is ETB (or are you leveraged/naked?)
Yeah they don't publish the borrow rates anywhere which can definitely be frustrating. thinkorswim has a chat that's quick and you never have to wait to get anyone to help, but I can see how that can be the deal breaker. You can see if a stock is ETB/HTB though without contacting them. On TOS desktop you can click the trade tab and put in your symbol. To the right of the company name it will say like NYSE/NAADAQ then ETB/HTB/NTB. Very rarely the borrow status part will be missing and they just have to hair their lending desk update it. You can also add a watchlist column called ETB/HTB if you want to look at the borrow status of everything on a list. This is also the only way to see the borrow status on TOS mobile at the moment.
How do you know if it's a HTB or an ETB stock? Is there a list? It's a non starter if I have to call TD or use chat each time I'm considering a short in order to find out what the borrow rate is. For trading, IBKR is my primary broker. They provide a comprehensive list of borrow rates for all borrowable stocks. However, it's not accurate and it doesn't update intraday. I don't use it anymore because the current borrow rate is a one of the datapoints on my quote line. I'm going to call them tomorrow because I have a decent amount of shorts open right now and saving a few bucks would be nice. Thanks for the info.
Many brokerages you do not pay any fee to short ETB stocks. TD Ameritrade is one of them.
I will have to contact my brokerage about that, thanks for the comment. I thought every position that is requiring margin meant paying your brokerage fees. In that case, if it’s on the ETB list, I may just directly short SPY or QQQ. No loss incurred if the market stays flat.
I am very sure you don't pay margin interest when you short SPY. SPY is on the ETB list @ TDA. Keep in mind, borrowing shares is very different than borrowing cash. If the shares that you borrow is in the HTB list then you'll pay a fee. If it's on the ETB list then you don't pay anything to short it. If you borrow margin money to buy shares then you'll pay interest if it's overnight.
Better to shorten Ethiopian Birr. Black market price Euro to ETB 115 OFFICIAL RATE 59.699 A JOKE!

I access a lot of information via API so I am not sure how you see the entire list with ToS GUI. To check individual ticker, go in Monitor/Analyze and type in the ticker you want to check, you'll see HTB or ETB on the top bar.

REV could make it with GME and AMC easy. It is no longer in an ETB. Shares to borrow are pitiful. Just got a 1.4b approval a couple weeks back for its loan etc etc But yeah.... let's chase stupid ass bbby. Not saying to duck out of AMC or GME but put some $ into REV

Can WISH just hurry up and go bankrupt so tired of looking at these bags!!! Maybe some smoothbrains give me an ETB estimated time to Bankruptcy. Need to know when I can file for my EBT card
Most stocks are ETB , I’ve been shorting for a long time never paid a borrowing fee, don’t short (hard to borrow) stocks. Pretty simple
I am a bot from /r/wallstreetbets. You submitted one or more banned tickers: ETB. Message /u/zjz if they're above 1.5 billion-ish market cap and not related to crypto/pennies/OTC.
Questrade is ok for longing stocks. But for shorting penny stocks, it's horrible: 1) it puts hard restriction on volatile stocks where no shorting is allowed. For example, last week I was trying to short AGRI, an "easy to borrow" (ETB) stock, but Questrade system doesn't allow anyone to short it. When I called, they told me they don't allow shorting it because "this stock is too volatile"! 2) For most penny stocks, even when there's no restriction, it's impossible to short with Questrade if the stock is "hard to borrow" (HTB). American brokers such as CenterPoint Securities would have a locate tool for us to locate & borrow HTB stocks for a fee to be able to short sell it...
I'm no expert but I see more ETB's on equity market during this sell off as of late? Any infos or insider stories would be much appreciated.

Booster boxes ETB’s 3 pack blisters all that. Even shitty 4 year old sets like XY Fates Collide have 3x
Regular shorting is borrowing the shares from your broker and selling at the top then buying to cover at the bottom. The brokerage makes money from the fee lending you shares to short. If you try to short you will see that shares are either HTB (hard to borrow) ETB (easy to borrow) or they just don’t have any share for you to short on that ticker. HTB shares are generally the ones that you have to pay a premium for. ETB are normally free.
Bag holding MTEM. Should have cut loss months ago. Am convinced ETB platform will help cure esophageal cancer
AMZN is ETB... Short it.. ez money right? 10% drop following the statistics probability would net you 300 dollars per share in a couple days.. go ahead.
Definitely looking like fresh lows on the menu tomorrow. I got a whole smorgasbord of shorts loaded up ready to rock God bless these beautifully horrible tickers and the service they provide us profiteers: SNAP PYPL ABNB SHOP MTCH COIN CRWD And of course, the greatest invention ever in the history of the market: SARK If anyone has some other juicy ETB shorts please share with the class
Gotta be ETB unfortunately…would love to take TSLA short but don’t want to mess with HTB stocks
I’m looking for the best go-to short for when the market is tanking. Criteria: 1) must be very liquid 2) must show significant relative weakness and a strong positive correlation to the market 3) must be ETB Just off the top of my head SNAP was my go-to today and it worked out great. I can’t really think of anything better but curious if anyone else has a good one
Holy shit TDOC is actually ETB? I just assumed all the juicy Cathie stocks were off limits…
Yeah, there isn't much public documentation about it that I could find, but when I called and asked what level of options or whatever approval I needed to short stuff, they explained that shorting ETB stocks can be done on most any margin account and there's no borrow fees. But for HTB stocks there are sometimes fees so they make you talk to them first and they make sure you understand what you're doing and how the fees work before enabling it on your account. Once you have HTB enabled on your account you should be good to go, but it doesn't guarantee they'll have available inventory on every HTB stock, especially later in the day, and the only way to find out is to try submitting a sell order and see if it gets rejected or not.
Sorry for the poor picture but the green bubbles indicate buy and red bubbles indicate sell , the trend is color coordinates and follows the movement of the security, you can play both sides with real time signal bubbles long or short on ETB
You can actually play both sides of the trade short or long for scalping on ETB securities
Try STO on any ticker that is not marked NTB. Preferably ETB. You are now short stock.
Anyone know if there is an easy way to check ETB/HTB on TOS mobile?
Is this through TDA? Is it ETB ? Tesla is HTB and could never short.
I am a bot from /r/wallstreetbets. You submitted one or more banned tickers: ETB. Message /u/zjz if they're above 1.5 billion-ish market cap and not related to crypto/pennies/OTC.
Last I checked it wasn't ETB.
The post I replied to mentioned TDA not showing it as HTB. (Hard-to-Borrow) It(AFRM) was shown as HTB. Also, I see MSFT as ETB on TD/ToS currently. (Easy-to-Borrow) Every brokerage has a certain amount of shares they loan out if they so choose, actually their customers shares. In the fine print when you sign the brokerage forms to be a customer, you basically allow this. And no, brokerages do not share with you the fees collected from lending out your shares. Down the rabbit hole we go... the Direct Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has a subsidiary called the Depository Trust Company (DTC). The DTC designates Cede and Company as their main custodial nominee (legal custodian/guardian) of securities; manages their(the securities held) custody essentially. This is how brokerages manage securities essentially, using the DTCC and all of that funneling between them all... the brokerage.. the dtcc/dtc and Cede and Co. who basically holds the "title" of the shares. Now the question becomes - who owns the "title" of these shares AND regulates them when they're shorted? This. This is why some brokerages are more relaxed and others are not I speculate - difficult to get any firm answers to this so speculate I must. As you can see it gets confusing and is a bit of a black hole trying to figure out where the shares went and how many have been loaned out with 100% accuracy. Especially with naked shorting allowed for Market Makers. On a tangential side note: getting shares in your name doesn't change that there is a custodial agent, i.e. Cede and Co. Who is the DTCC/DTC who can ultimately still lend out your shares. So a brokerage like WeBull doesn't lend out your shares is just ignorant to how this works. Not their fault, people expect to be told the truth at face value more often that not. WeBull doesn't lend out your shares because some other entity can, i.e. DTCC/DTC/Cede and Co or another entity associated - shares still get lent out - but I digress. For further reading wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depository_Trust_%26_Clearing_Corporation?wprov=sfla1 Back to HTB... As such, some are more relaxed and some aren't. They(brokerages) have internal controls that they don't disclose on how they calculate the ETB/HTB of a symbol based on their availability and risk tolerance parameters I imagine. I've heard the Interactive Brokers is the easiest to short with and doesn't have HTB as often as others, like TD. TD is known to be more restrictive in this regard. Likely due to loaning out less shares and not trying to monetize it as much as IB or other brokers. It comes down to what the broker provides. You choose your broker , not the other way around. The TL;DR - TD is not the best for shorting from what I've researched. IB is better for nearly all accounts from what I've heard/seen. ** I do not use IB. I use TD. I do not short equity directly.(I use call/put options if I want short delta exposure) Just my opinions from my own research and experiences.
AFRM doesn't seem to be HTB at all, both TW, and TDA mark it as ETB. What was your strikes, and expiration? You might've gotten lucky by getting assigned.
Pretty much all of them do. The biggest thing is whether they actually can find the shares to borrow. There’s ratings for specific equities that are listed on the retail brokerage platforms that call out if a stock is HTB or ETB - hard/easy to borrow. If it’s hard to borrow then you’re unlikely to find shares on a retail brokerage platform to sell short. WeBull I think let’s you sell shares short though.
GME and AMC are ETB at my broker
ETB on TDA, so I'm guessing not really.
I keep buying and keep having my ass handed to me. Too easy for the shorts to drive it down. Easy to borrow (ETB). They (those greedy fucks) gonna do it one too many times.
Yep if you live in Washington, Oregon or Colorado. I am in Seattle area fun fact that Pokémon company America headquarter is here. And we almost have one Pokémon vending machine in each Fred Meyer here. They restock every Thursday and full of good stuffs like ETB and booster boxes. Scalpers always got there early than me and buy the entire machine.
I'm not sure I'd call it progress, though. He started with $703k on Jan 20, and is now at $621k, [almost matching VT](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSgd1NQ77E9c3dx0BNnYc93gDkVRopaIcBs2L7no00v26ETB4W4kT7w_-y_0vaTwK_SqBnXMCs8bu4h/pubhtml) at a 75% correlation, but with 3x the volatility. (And I'm sure the extra volatility makes for great YT titles.)
So just did some research, maybe this tip will help people out... If you are using ToS, you can add a category to your watchlist labeled ETB/HTB. This will show you all stocks currently labeled "hard to borrow" by the broker that have shorting restrictions on them. Over half my fucking watchlist is "hard to borrow" lol, turns out TDA has one of the worst lists of shortable stocks out there.
You can short less than 100 shares of the underlying you have calls on if you have the money for it. That’s my favorite way. By the time you go to buy puts vol is usually elevated and if the market turns around you get IV crushed on the puts. Some stocks are HTB but most bigger tech companies are ETB. If you can buy puts to hedge during low IV it’s great though.
RE: Locating shares * Happens broker to broker and also via locate services that cater and market specifically to brokers. * It's a mixed bag and somewhat of a specialty service, so not like single central market. It's also why TDA and other retail brokerages restrict retail from borrowing HTB stocks. ETB or no flag stocks can basically be sold short with the locate happening later on the assumption that it won't be difficult to find. HTB requires a locate to be performed prior to borrowing and allowing a short sale, so they won't do it except for larger pre-qualified accounts. Borrowing * Yes, the procedures for borrowing are covered by the standard agreements between the brokerages and clearing houses. They don't sign a new contract each time it happens--it happens within the contracts/rules they've already set up in advance. * The lending broker trusts you'll remain solvent. It's the clearing house that monitors each party's collateral and adjusts collateral deposit requirements accordingly. The clearinghouse will have to step in to cover any deficiency on the borrowing broker's part, which leaves the lending broker free to not have to consider that risk with the exception of an event that could take down even the clearinghouse. Recalling * Recalling shares: each lending broker knows who borrowed their shares--they had to loan it to a counterparty at the counterparty's request, after all. They just issue a recall notice to the borrowing broker. What happens after that, and how the borrowing broker obtains the shares to return, is the borrowing broker's problem. * The theory is that as the recall notice is issued, shorts will start covering as needed, driving price however high it has to go in order to entice more people to sell. At some point people will sell for a certain price, and then eventually all of the outstanding loans are returned. If the share price escalation puts the mark-to-market position of a short seller's account so far in the red they fail to meet margin requirements, then their broker will liquidate the account to forcibly try to buy back the shares. If the price of shares at that point is so high that the broker's capital reserve is insufficient to buy the shares back, then DTCC will effectively margin call the brokers to mitigate its risk as the counterparty of last resort for all participating brokers. If DTCC goes under... I'm not even sure what happens at that point LOL, but I'm pretty sure the SEC suspends trading first.
That was intentional. It's used for smooth brains who don't know what utilization rates are like the OP, and what HTB is vs ETB.
Hard to Borrow relates to the daily fee charged to borrow shares. the Hard to Borrow designation gets put in place once the demand to borrow exceeds the supply available, resulting in the daily borrow fee. and the rate is set based on the difference in supply and demand. once the supply consistently exceeds demand to borrow shares, the HTB will be removed. there’s also easy-to-borrow stocks. ETB stocks don’t have that same daily borrow fee, but still might be subject to margin interest.
Haha it's ETB get yo short shit stick!! I been watching hella Discovery Plus. 90 day fiancé, how it's made
