I'm going to shill TOAD, so ignore this post and move along.
So, how many hours did you spend on r/CryptoCurrency this year? Reddit recap happened yesterday and this time everyone can also check their personal recaps! Reddit had also little suprise/easter egg for crypto enthusiasts.

I don't have anything against AI-gen images, but there's no need to lie. This image has so many artifacts, you could build a MTG deck with it.
I live by a trading card shop for MTG and pokemon I give the owner a bucket filled with mini figured and counter tokens and so on and he allows me to sell them in his store Then I make stuff for musicians, made my cousin a drone I programmed myself as well You get the right skills you can make money haha Printers do all the work I just sit back and live life
What does MTG have to do with any of this?;)
Not crypto related but the (MTG) Commander Rules Committee just pulled off one of thr greatest rug pulls of all time. Do Kwon would be proud!
Scam or MTG cards for digital needs probably? I only discuss crypto with my degenerate brother in law that made some money with dogecoin and with my wife who immediately forgets anything I say. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Not really, no. I've looked into Art, Wines/Champagnes, Comics, Cars, Pokemon,MTG,Fortnight cards, Real Estate, Stocks (I still max out my IRA) Bitcoin always will be the better investment.
No source and MTG being more attractive than clubbing is sus as fuck.
Pixels online is a good crypto game. And yes, I do buy games with 0 expectation of return. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t **want** to if I could. I’m not saying I want to become a millionaire from gaming, but it’s good to own your digital items. Literally the same as Pokémon and MTG cards. Is post malone dumb for paying over $2 million for a card? Should it just have been free? I sold my old PS4 and Xbox One that I was no longer using. Are you against that too?
Interesting that astronomy is in the top part of the list. We went to an observatory event a couple of weeks ago, and I am *pretty sure* there is a whole lotta MTG happening there with the staff in the off hours.
I read about $BTC in PCWorld magazine! It sounds like a fun investment, but I doubt it will be worth anything in the future. Maybe we could trade it during online poker. I heard they are in talks with Mt. Gox for a bitcoin exchange. MTG fans are going to be pissed off
*looks at comment history* So you went from voting for Hillary to defending the shooter Kyle rittenhouse? Huh, what a weird origin story. NFT shilling seems on par, but most MTG players are the chillest people I know, sorry you have so much pain you feel that trolling online helps. It’s weird but hopefully you start growing and learning to live rather than lying online ❤️
Elizabeth Warren also said she was native american. Who listens to her? She's the MTG of the left... no one cares... Opposite to the right, the left does not back people with stupid opinions, simply because they are a part of the same political side. Ideas matter, not labels.
Or be a complete twat (MTG representing)
should have a photo of MTG, going mental like she does
Right... because Republicans keep losing. That's why it didn't end. It wasn't for lack of trying. ...and because they're too fucking dumb to do anything with coordinated effort. Do you really think a party that props up complete morons like MTG is capable of ending democracy? It's not about what they're capable of (very little), it's about what their intentions are (nothing more than a power grab). Democrats are bad, but somehow Republicans always manage to be way fucking worse.
We can blame her for a lot, I'm no fan of most politicians, but she is one that just really gets under my skin. I'm skeptical, but I would hang out with AOC, MTG, and many other controversial people to pick their brains, but Warren is one I dont believe can think for herself...
It's really weird. Like, I don't collect MTG cards. So maybe I should make a sub just bashing MTG cards and the IDIOTS who collect them. And then I should obsess over MTG. Wait. Not Marjorie Taylor Green, to be clear.
All we have to do is write ✍️ congress people . . Tell your lefty congress person you want them to -not- tax unrealized gains lefty congress people listen. Enough of us write in, they change…. I too don’t really like either party…. But if you write to a republican representative they don’t change, they don’t compromise, it’s “extreme right or you are unpatriotic” I know this, because I write, I call, I pester. Every day I call the White House and let em know of Biden wants to be re-elected he needs to have a better bitcoin policy. (Among other things) They work for us, it isn’t “we bow unto them” Nope. Write your people … tell em if they wanna keep their jobs they better settle down. If more of MTG’s or trumps people wrote them telling them to calm down… then we wouldn’t be where we are. It’s up to us to demand compromise and vote em out when they insist on the bully pulpit. (But in my experience the republicans write back accusing me of being un-American where the lefties are all “your opinion is being taken into consideration” )
Same. My MTG collection has supported my BTC accrual.
Bitcoin is like MTG booster pack. Some people could pay a lot for one but it doesn't mean it's valuable for everyone.
I sold my early 1990’s MTG cards and bought BTC a couple years ago. It’s worked out ok.
would make MtGox look like the MTG card game website is was supposed to be lol
My friend, they're not. Not 99% of them. They're so far left they're to the right of most major capitalist nations in the world today. Noone is wanting authoritarianism in the US in a serious manner. Though I will say the right IS running a candidate who wants to put his opponents in jail and says he will be dictator (but only for a day!). The left is also attempting to arrest their opponent, so, meh take it with a grain of salt. These people lie. The anti authoritarian right says you cannot express yourself as gay or trans. That freedom doesn't exist. They elected Supreme Court justices who said under oath they would not reverse roe v wade, and they did. There are women dying now at rates of third world nations because our doctors are afraid of being prosecuted to a higher extent then a friggin child molester. The left acts virtuous but just look at Pelosis stock portfolio, or take a walk thru downtown Seattle to see where this gets people. Point is, you're drinking the Kool aid. Talk to anyone on the street. They want 3 things: A job that can feed their families, and provide a roof over their head A sense of safety in their home and community An assurance their children will be better than they are That's it. That is all anyone wants. Nobody wants a dictator. They want respect to come back to the country, they want to see childhood insults get away from politics and to see it become boring again. We've got two grandpa's running for office and they're talking crypto. It ain't gonna fly. Liz Warren is telling you not to mine crypto since it hurts the environment, but make sure you buy an electric car. They're not capable of understanding this ecosystem. Were fighting a culture war that doesn't need to be fought, missing the forest from the trees. There's a lie being sold, the lie is that Republicans are racist fascists one step from hitler and the democrats are baby eating satanists one step from full Maoism. The polarization, extremism, name calling bullshit we call politics is a disgrace to our nation. We used to disagree and drink a beer, find compromise. If you felt REAL strongly about the issue, you read Marmaduke for 24h straight till it was dropped. Nowadays you've got MTG wearing trump regalia to the state of the union screaming at the president, while she criticises zelensky for not wearing a suit to see her...and you've got that chick on the left there supporting full blown genocide against Israelis. To quote a classic philosophy film; What the fuck, David Blaine?
Did you completely ignore the section of the comment that I quoted? You can already play MTG for free online on a platform with voice which is Tabletop Simulator.
I’m not going to debate the crypto points. Ownership of digital assets isn’t for everyone. For TCGs, it makes perfect sense imo and if you’ve followed MTGO to MTG Arena, you’d see how bad things are sliding for WOTC. But when you say there’s no benefit for the gamer, I really have to disagree. Go follow the Gods Unchained discord. The way the business works with the community is a breath of fresh air. Web 3 ensures a more transparent product and gives more leverage to the community. I’ve built up a collection by simply playing the game. The web 3 industry is disruptive so it’s gonna be met with a lot of resistance from those that prefer status quo.
> Maybe all the Gensler haters should consider how badly this ETF implementation could have been effed up if the Republicans put a trump loyalist like MTG in charge. LOL fuck off. 17 Democrat Senators are pushing a bill to regulate the fuck out of your Bitcoin, but "noooooo idds de ebil RethugniKKKans who wanna take yer coinz!!!"
MTG is pro BTC though,& most GOP are far more than libs like Liz Warren,Goldman, Goldstein,& esp Biden etc.
Maybe all the Gensler haters should consider how badly this ETF implementation could have been effed up if the Republicans put a trump loyalist like MTG in charge. At least current SEC is competent in understanding this technology even if they outwardly appear to be against it.
I had an epic collection of MTG cards that was stolen :(
I think you are expecting the 2017 cycle but referencing the 2021 cycle. The 2021 cycle was highlighted by the GameStop incident and the pandemic. More than crypto was associated with the 2021 surge in MTG prices as the collectibles market went nuts in large part to US stimulus checks and everyone was stuck at home. I wouldn’t mind an MTG market surge again as I’ve been slacking on MTG finance and have been meaning to out some cardboard investments. I haven’t played with physical cards in years and my ‘portfolio’ side of my collection really needs to be downsized.
What about buying and selling rare sats (ordinals)? Technically, you're just swapping bitcoin for bitcoin, but some bitcoin is now non-fungible. Feels similar to the MTG comment above.
I mean. A MTG trading card site is more than a few steps below CoinBase. Better argument would have been Voyager, since they were also listed on the NYSE.
Where is he a pedo? Like where? On hunter's laptop? As far as I know it is MTG showing is dick pick daily while her boyfriend is a drag queen and they are banning that in specific states.
But the game IS fun. I've played it for years. When it stops being fun, I take a break, sell cards I don't want to keep, and come back later. Buy cards I want then, play again, repeat. It really is the best crypto game by a long shot, and I prefer it to MTG.
I'm starting to play a little bit of Parallel, a sci-fi TCG with similarities to MTG. Before the game launched I started collecting card packs they dropped every few months, which are NFTs. Partly as a possible investment (read: gamble), and partly because I personally know one of the game devs, as well as a over of the artists who created designs for the cards, so I was more than happy to support their venture. The card art is beautiful, and so far the game is too. There's great cutscenes, and the game play is good quality. I've only played in learning mode so far, so no earnings (or losses) to discuss yet.
i wouldnt be surprised if at least 8 of the traitorous MAGAts are hodling bags full of crypto. crazy MTG and its tuckunder seems like someone who would fall for it.
I like Bitcoin, but this is some of the dumbest shit I’ve ever read and a nonsense comparison. Around 21 billion Magic Cards have been printed. Therefore each Magic Card is 0.7 million square meters of land. But wait, there’s more! Each Booster Pack has 15 cards, so is worth 10.5 million square meters of land. One MTG Booster Pack > One Bitcoin …in land

This guy looks like he is filming in Rudy's house (MTG Youtuber)
Yeah, I think some people posted that he has doubled down on this position recently on his website. Thing is when Bitcoin was $550, he had some valid points as far as financial advice for his audience. They likely would’ve got it through Mt. Gox and kept it on the exchange. So from a keeping his audience safe perspective, they very likely could’ve had all their investment disappear from a computer (or MTG) nerd flipping a switch. I’d rather people be scared and not invest than not be scared and invest before knowing how to do it securely. That way they don’t get burned and forever shun Bitcoin.
There's a difference between commodity assets and consumables like arts & collectibles. Technically you're right, but you wouldn't put a bunch of MTG cards in your safe for the next generation. Who knows if they'll be worth much in 50 years.
Anyone know what the site is that sells NFTs of physical magic the Gathering cards? I think I want to dive into that one. I wanted to start buying MTG cards and actually think it's way easier to sell them in NFT form. It feels like an actual use case.
People that were involved in creating MTG where involved in creating gods, you'll see a lot of similarities.
I have never played MTG so I can't really compare the two. I did play HS 7-8 years ago, and it was pretty easy getting into Gods after it
Wow, looks interesting at first glance! Is it more like Hearthstone or MTG?
As a MTG player, I would love to have a NFT that represent a real card to use in online gaming. It would be game-changing.
I’ve try it, but couldn’t get warm with it. Waiting for a NFT based MTG or Pokemon TCG some day … dreams …
Parallel is better. And free to play (the NFTs make it so you earn the token when playing). But it's difficult and I'm not good at MTG style games beyond Marvel Snap.
Good for the people that do like TCG, but aren’t they annoying after some time? Genuine question from a MTG player.
right now the next big hype of Crypto gaming is a TCG called "Parallel" it's under the network of Coinbase "BASE" it looks promising with the opportunity to earn PRIME coins and drops of Cards which can be sold and some are currently selling in the secondary market (Opensea) right now it's still very buggy but if polished it has the potential to be on par with modern TCG like Hearthstone/MTG/thatLeagueoflegendscardgameIforgot personally I welcome the idea of crypto gaming and I personally follow projects that have started since the last bullrun and have kept building the past year during this bear, they might blow-up on or before the next bullrun and is just waiting for the right market conditions
I trust MTG! First learned about XTP through his tweet. After researching Tap Fintech, I decided to invest in the token due to its strong fundamentals and growing investor support.
Like hell, Pokemon or MTG arent going to relinquish control over their property when Magic the Gathering Online has figured out a better way than NFTs 21 years ago.
“The plaintiffs allege that Bankman directed some $5.5 million to be donated to Stanford, his employer at the time, and Fried was successful in having tens of millions of dollars from her son's companies donated to MTG, a political action committee she co-founded.” Sam isn’t just a bad apple, the whole tree is rotten. Real question is how far have the roots poisoned the ground around it ?
Gods Unchained is a play and earn trading card game pretty fun to play. The cards are NFTs, on a layer 2 of Ethereum to save tons on gas fees(you only pay gas when transferring in or out of Layer 2, zero gas fees for each transaction. They just came out with "sealed mode", like draft mode of MTG. It's free to play and you can earn from it. Usually just pennies, but when one of the sets had just been released, I got lucky and earned over $200 worth of cards in one weekend.
I'm just saying that card games can be really expensive in general. People like to complain about the artificial scarcity in crypto, but don't seem to acknowledge the examples in daily life, for example trading cards. So bringing up MTG helps demonstrate a pattern. MTG: Arena only makes the comparison more apt
Have you played standard in MTG? That's probably worse
I'm a tcg collector mainly sealed. I'm curious if we will see the likes of MTG , Pokemon , Yugioh and others start to release Digital collections on the blockchain presumably via NFT's ? I think this would be massive if it happens
What smells worse? Crypto convention, or MTG convention?
Why would they when they make more money selling to players directly? Plus a lot of people hate anything that makes the game pay-to-win. Hearthstone and (official) MTG are already bad about this (at least with MTG it only matters if you give a shit about online play or official tournaments), God's Unchained is even worse.
Thats what GU is tbh. Not the same IP, but same basics of the game. Lead designer is from MTG too.
Nowadays I constantly feel tapped out in MTG. There more version of certain cards then valid crypto projects
I believe the best bet for NFTs in game rn is in CCGs, like Hearthstone, MTG and Runeterra. Having each card be an NFT will allow a parallel market to emerge for the rare ones, similar to the way their physical copies are traded irl
In game gold being on blockchain for a game like WOW is one of the main use cases that actually makes sense. The other one is card games like MTG or Pokemon, the cards are NFTS and can be bought and sold on a third party marked using blockchain. Beyond that, it's pretty much what everyone is saying in the comments, generally cash grabs not games.
Web3 game enjoyer here. I’ve always taken the framing of web3 as a tool, not a genre. Wish we could move the conversation past “games need to be good” and start looking at how blockchain actually helps gaming. TCGs seem to be really showing their potential at the moment. God Unchained and Parallel in particular are games I can honesty say I’ve sunk time into and enjoyed at the same level as MTG and Hearthstone. I stopped playing Hearthstone a while back and playing Parallel has made me really appreciate the format again. The ability to sell cards, not get burned by game changes, and not having to support Blizzard definitely helped. NFTs for skins and battle passes are also doing well. Mini Royale has a great model despite the game still feeling like a work in progress. Rental markers to help with battle pass missions instead of having to buy a whole new character proved to help me enjoy progressing through the game over getting stuck at a certain level/quitting. On a broader level, in-game rewards for time spent playing just feels good. I’m not trying to pay rent playing Axie, but if I can buy some in game assets for the time I spent playing, that’s good enough for me. For those who grind seriously, token rewards for wins/tournaments makes esports more accessible. You don’t have to be in the top 0.1% to play competitively anymore. And if you’re working to get there, the opportunity to earn something on your way can better support your efforts. Sure, there’s some bad games in crypto gaming. There’s also like 100k games on Steam and I’m sure most of those are bad too. Think people need to start looking at what they want from blockchains, what they like playing, and find that games that overlap on both. There’s a lot to be excited about here and it’s sad to see so many people in crypto and gamers writing it off. With many people in crypto, think we’re still early and what’s to come will change a lot of minds if you’re open to it.

For sports collecting. I buy Candy MLB NFTs because the art’s really cool, they are just like baseball cards (to me) and no different than collecting Magic Online cards vs. MTG cardboard, and they’ve provided some real life utility (I’ve won tickets, a bat, a jersey, etc.)
Craig Wright for President, he fits right in with Trump, MTG, George Santos, maybe all related or inherited the same LIE-1 gene.
Totally get you. The way to test this new tech is to plug with popular media like Pokémon or MTG. Then take the player feedback and improve. Algo spent so much money on drone racing. Should have spent it on gran turismo or f1.
You might like Gods Unchained if you’re into MTG.
It’s a unimaginative TCG. Take out the “OWNERSHIP oh my god I’m gonna come” element from it and all you’re left with is an unimaginative heartstone clone which tries too hard to be MTG. Put differently - if you did not care about physically buying and selling cards, then you’re looking at a mediocre game at best. At worst it’s trying to prop up anything that justifies in any case the existence of having some generic digital asset the initial creators could profit from. It’s a soulless shell that pretends to be a game. You can see that some guys came together and thought really hard for an afternoon how to package NFTs in a way that you can reach a bigger audience. It’s NFT first and then, with a BIG distance, game second. And you’re right, that is with a big margin the best there is in crypto gaming. Because rest is even more depressing, lifeless copies of existing IP kinda munched together to justify putting a generic blockchain behind it and get dumb people to buy those NFTs. There is zero positive you could say about it which is not just “well but… it has 3d graphics” or a similar level. The gaming aspect of any crypto game is about as good as the buffet in a sauna club. There’s no content there that’s worth anything above 3/10.
GU is very magic the gathering like, I dont know why more games do that... NFTs are a perfect fit for a digital version of it, instead you get boring auto battle and shit. They should do away with the limited sales numbers though, and switch to limited time of sale, just like MTG...
Biggest buyer of MTG cards is not a fan of CBDC's. Not surprised considering the games links with crypto.
Post did pay 2 million for an MTG card so I'm sure he's been told how to handle his money... xD
Check out Skyweaver. This is a very good cardgame. Can remind you about MTG, but original design and game mechanics. NFT's can be bought, but it's not required.
>It was confusing. Ok…. >Because I'm talking about being able to own assets. What makes you think you truly own any of these digital assets? The final say will always be that of the developers. >And you bring up MTG Arena. I think where you're going with this is that MTG Arena gives you ownership. It gives you ownership to the point where it matters. To be able to play the game. >But that point would be pretty stupid because 99.999% of companies don't have 30 years of physical cards that can be used to backup an online game giving that type of ownership. Why would we need physical cards to backup anything? Digital assets can be reproduced endlessly for practically nothing.
It was confusing. Because I'm talking about being able to own assets. And you bring up MTG Arena. I *think* where you're going with this is that MTG Arena gives you ownership. But that point would be pretty stupid because 99.999% of companies don't have 30 years of physical cards that can be used to backup an online game giving that type of ownership. So I was just trying to clarify that you weren't attempting to make such a point because it wouldn't apply to many companies.
Yea that’s why I quit MTG. Got back in for the LOTR hype. Not sure how those sealed products will do now that the one ring has been found. Sports cards and Pokémon is a hobby I try not to spend too much money on.
Sounds like a card ability from MTG.
Does it work differently from the MTG online card sales system? Curious why it needs a crypto connection if other games have been doing that without crypto for a long time.
Not with crypto but once sent someone money for some MTG cards with PayPal F&F instead of G&S. Never received them, lesson learnt. Don't be too trusting.
MTG and Pokemon cards- I've got tons of the early stuff. MAD Magazines- Every issue 1967-1998. Dungeons & Dragons manuals- Collection includes first edition, first printing. Firearms & ammunition- "precious metals" Sitting on a literal metric ton of ammo that's done at least 10x. Musical instruments- both digital and analog. And at one time: Diablo 3 Auction House Gem Syndicate & Hardcore gold. I made so much money before they shut down the auction house.

Gods Unchained is a pretty good card game similar to MTG. It's a free-to-play trading card game where you can own and trade cards and earn rewards. You also get packs after some games. Some user made a Reddit post some time ago about the game where he said that it was possible to make more than 30$ a month. The game was also added to Epic Store some weeks ago.
The funny thing about Moons is that there is a real community. The community existed before the crypto. This is the organic way to utilize crypto. You need a real use case first. So often it's the other way around, where people launch a crypto and then try to build a use case around it. Look at Magic The Gathering cards. OFC the early prints are rare and very expensive. But that's because no one started buying MTG cards for the purpose of collecting. They had no way to know they would be so valuable in the future. Instead, MTG built a fun card game to play, and through the game's foundation a collectible scene was created. You go down the list of other cryptocurrencies at a similar market cap to r/cc Moons and you'll be shocked at how irrelevant the product is. Shit you've never heard of. Meanwhile, those projects will balk at a Reddit comment coin being worth a similar market cap. This subreddit will exist and be active with or without Moons. That's the sign of a real product.
>Right. But if it were a game that I pay for one time. Then that's it. I wouldn't mind. But constantly having new boosters, updates, and shit I'm supposed to be buying is unacceptable to me. Welcome to late stage capitalism, you can still buy a game one time, but they aren't going to have the perks of other games. Nothing is stopping you from setting up some halo 1 lan parties to get that pvp experience. >I don't understand why it's so outlandish to expect to have some ownership of something that I'm paying for. I also don't understand why you'd say "full stop" about an opinion I have as though it's invalid. Well you're not paying for the game, you're paying for the privilege to play the game, totally different. >Also, the situation you raise about people trying to profit off the game is completely invalidated by Magic the Gathering. It's the exact same situation that I'm describing. People just buy cards and then OWN them. Cool. Open vintage cards up to standard and see how quickly MTG competition dies. People aren't interested in playing a competitive game with a $100K+ barrier to entry.
Things like dusting in Hearthstone or vault/wildcards in MTG:Arena are way, way, way more profitable for the company than a secondary market with royalties
Sorry I have been super hyped on LOTR recently because of MTG haha.
So, if I'm to follow this **advice** -- *financially speaking* -- I should leverage long and mortgage my prized MTG collection to buy alts? *Gary Gensler has entered the chat*
This is what our parents said about Pokemon/YuGiOh/MTG cards. Why are we as people collectively so dumb and want manufactured exclusivity.
I also am an otherwise normal human being who has both sent and received crypto for MTG cards.
He’s funded by a GOP super pac (the same that is behind MTG), just to add that detail on your very solid write out. Dude isn’t a Dem, and just as you put it, dude isn’t a serious candidate.
