JMIA is one Ive built a substantial LEAP/common position in. Check the fundamentals, they will likely turn a profit this year, then the scaling begins. E-Commerce in Africa. If birth trends continue they will have the largest population by continent in a few years. That’s labor and buying power that hasn’t been priced in yet. They haven’t gone through a TRUE Industrial Revolution yet. The business model has been proven by AMZN and BABA. Emerging market e-commerce has risk, but TREMENDOUS potential reward.
JMIA 5+ year hold MVST multi month/year hold GEV multi year hold.
JMIA. African e-commerce is booming but still fragmented and in early stages compared to Europe. Lots of room to grow and expand.

The fact JMIA the Amazon of Africa is still getting pumped is a perfect example of why this scam market won’t last much longer
You said in an earlier post that JMIA was a “first time investor mistake.” I don’t think you’re in any position to be giving advice, seeing as how you’re so new to this. My best advice to you is to buy S&P, NASDAQ, or total market index funds and call it a day.
Yikes those are big losses, I hope they make up a much smaller portion of your portfolio. Did you do any real research into these companies beyond hype cycle bullshit? NVO was an ozempic bubble once the “ohh shit patents expire eventually” hit people money started to run. LLY you should have gotten out from the second people started talking about limiting insulin prices. The underlying companies aren’t great beyond their GLP-1s and insulin. Random tech companies like JMIA and Canadian cannabis companies? Why not just buy European aerospace and defense stocks at a time when distrust in the U.S. is rising rather than take risks on small time shit that will most likely never have the market cap of a small country. Otherwise you just risk ending up on the wrong side of a pump & dump. NVIDIA > cumcoin LLC. Rolls Royce > backyard jet company BAE/L3 Harris/raytheon > phantom fireworks (but wait I promise phantom is working on a nuclear missile that will replace the entire minuteman III supply) Google > Some guys computer at Starbucks Corp.
Is JMIA going to 30? It's at 12 right now, up 250% for the year.
One I've never seen mentioned on here is JMIA. Anyone remember that name from 2020-2021? It pumped like crazy back then and is back(up 204% YTD), think it's a good play?
What made you buy calls in JMIA?
$JMIA up +23% on the day. Just getting started.
Lmaoooo guess who missed out on another 10k gain by selling my JMIA early last month. Its me 😔 🤡
$JMIA got a nice upgrade. Flying in premarket up 8%. Just getting started.
No. I already own 24 stocks. I kinda been cutting down on looking at new stocks. The last one I looked at was STNE and didnt buy over this and that now up 124% YTD. Missed the boat on that. But JMIA is up 154% YTD so dont feel so bad about it.
I have to say I'm pretty happy being in $JMIA these last couple months. Just getting started though if you're looking for a small cap stock. ($1.2 billion currently and plenty of room to grow)
ONDS, KULR and JMIA. Some are a lot longer than others, but not quick flips either.
Both sound interesting. Just too worried about having too many small caps. Because on days when market panics if you full of small caps your portfolio could be down 4-7%. But the upside can be amazing. Like I own JMIA a small cap ecommerce play in Africa that up 123% YTD. Though I bought it in the April 2025 dip so Im up 300%.
The amazon of africa aka JMIA is so back. Pumping 5% everyday since earnings 🚀
I get your point about the market broadening, but there are some things in this set of names that I wouldn't own in general. PFE is a stagnant company that buys growth (often overpaying) rather than innovates - it often reminds me of Immelt-era GE and it desperately needs its own version of Larry Culp. AGNC is "yield chasing" imo - over time it will not outgrow that yield and will just continue to erode. JMIA is eh - "the next (fill in the blank)" or the "fill in the blank (amazon, etc) of x" often (not always but often) ultimately don't work. The energy stuff isn't bad, but choosing to hold it for lasting periods where it's out of favor is opportunity cost. I am now looking more at these sorts of names but as a place to re-deploy after selling things that have been in favor. "Don't sell your losers at this moment !" I think there is something to letting one's winner's run, but if something is a persistent loser over a reasonable period of time, there has to be some reflection as to whether or not it has lasting issues. IMO, one should also take into consideration how much they allocate to out of favor stuff and how long they are willing to tolerate it being out of favor; optimally you're primarily in in favor stuff for long periods of time and then opportunistically (not the entire portfolio, to some degree) look at the bargain bin after stuff has been sitting in it for a while.
I lost it when I saw JMIA recovering. I thought that stock was dead and gone, but clearly it had other ideas.
Still in $ONDS, $JMIA, and $TNFA. Onds and Jmia are longer term plays, but $TNFA is a short-term high risk/reward. Looks like it could be a good swing for a lot of people or even a nice short squeez setup brewing. Just my thoughts, I'm an idiot, so don't listen to me.
Love the trade. Been following JMIA for a while and was wondering when it would start to pop again. I heard about it in 2020 from CNBC Steve Weiss.
If I invest internationally I avoid plays limited to 2 countries or less. I like SE, MELI, and NU for their multi-country reach. NU may expand further. I took a 2% position in JMIA during the April dip under $2 for the same reason; it’s worked so far but remains riskier than SE, MELI, and NU.
there was the everything bubble in 2021 valuations for small/mid cap tech stocks quite literally 10-20xed just because interest rates were near zero. just look at FVRR, JMIA, RDFN, ROKU chart histories for same examples, still down 90% from their 2021 highs. and the earnings results of these companies did not make sense with their crazy rise i personally was holding ALGN and TNDM back then and sold near the top, felt like my gains were undeserved because it was unbelievable at the time just remember, if rates ever fall back to that level again, buy as much as you can

this is your weekly reminder that JMIA is the play. Q1 earnings they made progress on their 2024 plans of making the business sleeker reducing cash burn and expanding on its biggest partners to pursue profitability. They gave guidance of expected full year profitability in 2027. Q2 reduced cash burn even more revenue is increasing still even with currency devaluations in those regions. Opened a brand néw larger warehouse in egypt. Integrated AI into its marketplace. Raised their 2025 full year guidance. Doubled down on their full year profitability expectations of 2027 and now expect to break even Q3-Q4 of 2026.
$JMIA has been good to me the last few days. +14% today and up +45% from last Thursday.
**Claim**: Jumia (JMIA) rose 30% after Q2 2025 earnings, showing a turnaround with reduced losses, improved guidance, and potential for stock price growth ($12–$50). **Evidence**: - [1] Jumia’s Q2 2025 report confirms a 25% YoY revenue increase, 18% reduction in operating loss, and 50% quarterly cash burn reduction. Full-year 2025 guidance was raised. - [1] Gross profit margin improved to 13.3% (vs. 12.7% in Q2 2024), and TPV rose to $49M (vs. $45.9M). Quarterly active customers grew 7% to 2.2 million. - [2] Benchmark analysts initiated a “buy” rating, citing Jumia’s potential in Africa’s e-commerce sector. JMIA stock gained ~229% YTD as of the report. **Analysis**: - **Factual accuracy**: The earnings data and stock movement (30% surge) are confirmed by [1] and [2]. Improved margins, reduced losses, and guidance revisions align with the claim. - **Operational discipline**: Exiting unprofitable markets and focusing on core operations (e.g., physical goods) are not directly addressed in the provided sources but could align with cost-cutting measures in [1]. - **Projections ($12–$50)**: While improved guidance and cash reserves ($98M) suggest progress, price targets are speculative. Analyst optimism [2] supports sentiment shifts, but profitability targets (2026–2027) remain unproven. **Sources**: [1] https://www.stocktitan.net/news/JMIA/jumia-reports-second-quarter-2025-y66zpzy908pu.html [2] https://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-jumia-jmia-stock-30-194808496.html **Conclusion**: **Mostly True but Context Needed**. The core financial improvements and stock surge are verified, but projections ($12–$50) and claims of a sustained turnaround depend on unproven execution risks and future market conditions.
$SHOP yesterday and now $JMIA today. I'm having an insanely fun week.
Ticker is JMIA. It seems what happened is the company put out its numbers. And Japanese social media translated it into Japanese. English sources didnt post articles on their earnings until 1-2 hours later. So they were only up 2-4% for a large part of premarket before English articles came out. This never happens with mid/large caps. They have English articles on their earnings within 5 minutes of what they reported. I cant explain how this could happen with a publicly traded company.
Im gonna lose this but JMIA is still the play. +30% today just from improved earnings and raised guidance . 🙏🏻
There is probably no harm in saying the name. The ticker is JMIA. Used to be discussed on here now it out of favor. Due to them still being unprofitable and the execution risks. It just so odd Im trying to find the analyst estimates for EPS/revenue but it not really anywhere for the ticker. Like there is for every other stock that reported in premarket.
JMIA is my highest conviction play, been accumulating them for almost a year. Theyre not a pump & dump as they’ve been used for before showing from its 5y chart. They’re on a very real path to profitability. Next year will be the last year they experience a loss with them breaking even in Q4 2026. Financial Performance: Revenue increased 25% year-over-year and surpassed consensus estimates. Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) showed a 6% year-over-year increase. Operating loss and adjusted EBITDA loss improved year-over-year. Liquidity was $98.3 million as of June 30, 2025, with a cash burn of $12.4 million in Q2 2025. Operational Highlights: Orders grew and quarterly active customers for physical goods increased year-over-year. Nigeria experienced significant growth in orders and GMV. Guidance: Jumia raised its full-year 2025 guidance for physical goods orders, GMV, and loss before income tax. The company targets breakeven on a loss before income tax basis in Q4 2026 and full-year profitability in 2027.
JMIA still going after running for 3 months. I want 6$ by Thursday🥹
Its not listed here but JMIA reports earnings Thursday at open. Calls. Ive been accumulating this for almost a year now. Business is getting sleeker, reducing waste and expanding on its more profitable markets. They just built a brand new warehouse, integrated AI marketing into their service, and I fully expect them to double down and possibly move up their profitability expectation from last earning call of late 2026 to early 2027.

JMIA is the only ticker I care about. Just need one more set of good news for me to commit and full port, earnings will probably be the make or break for the next significant move up or down.
Im not gonna fomo into any of the pump & dump meme stocks. Ima keep focusing on acquiring more JMIA. 100% believe this gonna be a huge value play over the course of this 2nd half of the year. 🙏🏻
JMIA, off the top of my head
JMIA above 5$ for first time in like a year. Im already up 32%. I know this will be my 2nd biggest gain, I dont plant to trim this until 12$ minimum.
Mentioning JMIA every week until im right. non stop good news (multiple partnerships, integrating AI, opened a new larger warehouse in egypt). they gave, for the first time an expectation for profitability by 2027. The business is getting sleeker and modernizing. I expect this upcoming earnings call to be a big catalyst. Likely see them moving up their expectations of profitability. About 15k deep with daily buys. Planning to cut the buys off and full porting depending on guidance in august.
!banbet JMIA 8$ 2 months
Nothing but good news coming out for JMIA lately. Ive been long on it for a year and my highest conviction long term play. Easy 3-4x bagger for sure. This earnings should be a big catalyst if they continue moving up their expected profitability date.
$JMIA , insane setup right now
ASTS PLTR TSLA TMDX JMIA I only have 6 positions with high risk. I bought Palantir more than a year ago.
Omg JMIA baby. You’re gonna pump 2 days in a row. My bags that Ive been holding for 7 months are suddenly plus 1.5k now. 😎

JMIA baby keep mooning 🥹🙏🏻
Lmaooo after bag holding JMIA for 7 months I finally went into profit today. Im up 49$. 😎(I was -4.5k liberation day)
ONDS and JMIA for me. What do others think of these?
Been slowly adding to my JMIA position that Ive been bag holding, only down 5%, recovered from being down 70% after liberation day 💀. Just crossed 2500 shares and threw 1k at some leaps. Will probably add more later. I plan to full port this if their August earnings call continues or improves their guidance of profitability by 2027.
I have about 10k in JMIA thats almost back to breakeven after bag holding for like 6-8 months. 💀
Let me guess JMIA and SPCE
What yall think about JMIA going down again 🤔
Omg my JMIA bags pumping. Im glad I didn’t sell when I was 70% down in April. Just need another 15% to break even and get out of this
Oh man JMIA is mooning. Im only down 30% instead of 50%
What a swing from JMIA. It reported earnings in premarket and was down 25%. It is now up 19%. I didnt think the earnings were that great but their guidance must have helped.
What a swing from JMIA reported earnings in premarket and was down 25%. It is now up 19%.
JMIA missed on earnings pretty bad again. Guess ima be holding on to these bags for a long time
Ive been bag holding JMIA for like 6 months. They report earnings tomorrow. I hope I can finally unload this position
I just wanna say thank you to whoever has been pumping the JMIA shares I’ve been bagholding for the past 3 months. At this rate I might get to exit early.
Oh no. WSBgold shows everyone the JMIA shares im bagholding now
1. Entering plays from different Reddit/Twitter people 2. Penny stocks 3. DCA’ing in one stock until I ran out of money 4. Watching the chart ALL day and not do anything about it 5. JMIA, CARLOTZ, WMD, NIO, EDOC These are just a few lol! Gained some skin in the game though

I would keep an eye on JMIA for next earnings season and the one after that. Once they report profitability that thing will fly. The movers are the ones that go from not making money to making money in their earnings report
$JMIA Q4 results for Africa's Amazon. Will explode.
JMIA and BABA were, but bailed on JMIA long ago and BABA more recently. were each tiny pieces of portfolio. PYPL was the biggest hit in recent years, but that was losing unrealized gains so it went from big winner to tiny gain for a long hold. CRSP and NTLA are big % losers where had a non-tiny amount of money. Probs hanging on for sunk cost fallacy. Like i've said for past 20yrs when reflecting on investing decisions, wish I would have just put in bigtech and index and sit on it. Stretch to buy big dips.
great eyes. JMIA and SNDL those 2 are my long term losers with tiny position. and they will be cut once I need to harvest loss.
There's some saying or guideline if you are down more than 25% or 50%...that it's harder to break even because the stock has to run up alot higher. I would just cut ties and tax harvest them, especially JMIA, SNDL. Those belong to wallstreetbets type of meme stocks. The rest is salvageable. You can also specifically pick stocks to get rid of to have that psychological affect that you're not losing as much once you got rid of the ones that are deep underwater.
$JMIA: e-commerce in Africa. I think they will do well in the future as Africans get more disposable income. This would be my longest hold because.they are still making losses. $GRAB: an everything app in Asia. They are in merger talks with GOTO so they might dominate the market $BYDDY: BYD simply has good cars, is an integrated company so it controls all aspects of its production, and can produce cheaper than EU/US/P car manufacturers
APRE's patent portfolio is actually stronger than most realize. They've got [4 granted US patents and 19 international ones for their ATR inhibitor program, with protection until 2037](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/aprea-therapeutics-provides-existing-patent-131622058.html). Their clinical data looks solid too - ATRN-119 and APR-1051 both showing good safety profiles with no major toxicity issues. PROP's fundamentals are impressive. They're projecting 300% YoY output growth and $69-102M in net profits for 2025. Their drilling program is aggressive - 25-28 wells planned. Management knows what they're doing. Can't speak much to JMIA since there's no real news or developments to analyze. Would need more data points. The market's been sleeping on both APRE and PROP. These aren't your typical penny stock gambles - both have real assets and clear growth trajectories. APRE's oncology pipeline and PROP's DJ Basin operations are the real deal.
JMIA is probably going lower before it goes higher, but I like it. Revenue is trending the wrong way and there's no short-term catalyst for a run, so I would dca in slowly once it approaches the 52 week low
A cautionary tale: I did this with JMIA when the price was around $12-$15 and decided I’d be happy to buy more shares - a LOT more shares - at $8 - a price I figured it would never get to in the several-week time frame until expiration, or, on the small chance it did, would barely get much below it. So I sold cash-secured $8 puts for a hefty 30 cents per share. That is a 3.75% return over a few weeks until expiration on cash that was earning not much more than that per entire year. My cost average on my existing shares was $5.xx. Well, the stock started dipping down to $10-$11 a few days before expiration, which was a few days after the next earnings call. “Someone knew something”, as many in here would say. I could have closed the position early, of course, but I wanted to reap the full premium by waiting until a hopefully OTM expiration, despite the recent decline in share price. A few days later came the earnings call before market open at which the CEO announced an ATM offering of over 20 million shares - a roughly 20% dilution of the share count. The stock price tanked 50% in an instant, from $10 to under $5. Of course, upon expiration, I was assigned all the puts at the horrific price of $8/share. Not only did I lose a shitton of money which I won’t recover for many years, if ever, but I lost the opportunity to use my cash to buy dirt cheap shares in the $3.50-$5 range since then, which would have given me both a much higher share count and drastically minimized my losses, which may have even become gains by now given the ascent since that local bottom. There’s a decent chance that someone with inside info took the other side of my put sale. There was a totally illegal pump and dump on retail investors, in any event, not that the institutional criminals who conduct these things are ever held accountable for their crimes. My loss on this trade was likely more than all the premium gains I made on selling cash-secured puts in the past (although perhaps not more than the gains that I made from getting assigned positions that became profitable afterwards). My point is to be very prudent about these things. I still sell cash-secured puts, but with much more caution and restraint than in the past. The market has got some very powerful and very nasty participants who are regularly able to pull this kind of shit with impunity.
I've never done tax loss harvesting, but have a question regarding it. I bought 300 JMIA shares back in 2021 and have since incurred a loss of about $7000. How can I tax harvest this? Id have to sell all shares for a loss of $7k?
Another vote for JMIA especially after the thanksgiving sales data and strategic partnerships
