interesting week for M&A if anyones paying attention beyond the Iran headlines. in the last two days we got MKC/Unilever finalizing a $44.8B merger, Biogen launching a $5.6B tender for Apellis at $41/share, Saltchuk closing on Great Lakes Dredge for $1.5B, and a bunch of smaller deals completing (ONTF, FFWM, UBFO). over $50B in M&A closing in 48 hours. companies dont pay premium to acquire other companies when they think the world is ending.
That’s what i’ve been trying to do. Bought some BA a couple weeks ago. It dipped and is back up yesterday and today. Buying MKC on the other hand, lol. Oops on that on. Maybe it’ll be ok to hold for a while.

Yes I think so - it will allow Unilever to shed some more skin but keep a majority stake whilst expanding MKC appeal with some strong products amongst it. I’ve been pretty surprised to see the price dip below £45 - hoping with the deal update it will sail back north.
That makes sense. I bought some MKC shares myself, it’s been doing alright last few days. If they make the deal it could be a win/win is my thought.

MKC is one I just keep watching too. Consensus has been good since at least November. (Others were better) And MKC just keeps dogging. Very sound company decades of success decent secure dividend payer. It just doesn't make sense. I'm glad I picked SWK instead.
I do not believe stocks only go up. But I do believe MKC at 20x or <20x is a buy all day every day.

Bought some DIS yesterday, about 7k worth. Still sitting on 22k at the moment. I was at around 20% cash position since around December last year. Starting to look at opening a position with GOOG and MKC(if it drops further).

Start over, but be cautious. Buy 100 shares of something recession-proof like McCormick (MKC) up 1.42% today and then sell a future Call against it to bring back some income. It might take a while, be patient.

Its not very smart to buy a Chinese stock already accused of scam for .30 cents and sell it for .36 cents. You can get that same return on a stock like MKC with almost 0 risk. So why take so much risk to setlle for a measly 20%? That is really stupid. If you are going to risk your money on this POS you have to go for the 200%+ return at least. People like you flipping pennies is the reason this stocks dont rise higher.
That’s just a factory. Every car manufacturer makes cars with as many common components as possible. There’s nothing special from a manufacturer’s point of view with an EV. In fact the additional weight from the longer range sub-models is probably a bigger design challenge with the than changing a sedan body for a hatchback. They make Orville Redenbacher which is the best microwave popcorn in my biased opinion, for that I’d say calls. But if I can recall they were red for their last earnings report and I remember MDLZ was also, but MKC did good this week. So I really am not to sure, the food at home category [for Feb CPI was 1% y/y](https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/cpi.pdf), and [they’re facing a class action lawsuit over false claims of sustainability sourced fish, so who knows maybe puts or a straddle is the way to go](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/conagra-must-face-lawsuit-over-203441842.html).
