I think this is an underrated play. Henry Cavill is a huge Warhammer nerd and has done a lot to increase its popularity. New show or movie coming out with him at the helm could really boost the whole game. I also like Hasbro as they own MTG which is getting more popular by the day. I’m cynical on it, I think there’s rumblings of dissent that we just don’t see because the Rs are always lock step-dick in mouth unlike the democrats who fight all the time and purity test. Well I've collected most of my life and I know what TCGs always fuck me (MTG and One Piece) so I'll maybe buy a collectors booster pack or two for a new MTG set and grab one BB for a new One Piece set or if I happen to catch a restock whatever I can get within the store's purchasing limit. Since I mainly do graded cards it's more about setting yourself up with singles that have a high chance to grade well which means good quality control, something the Pokemon Company with English releases knows fuck all about and the same with Hasbro to a lesser extent. Bandai Namco games pull 10s from PSA relatively easy due to good quality control and if something is especially good gambling on a Black Label from BGS is possible. I bought a cheap microscope meant for coin collectors on Amazon to check for scratches in the foil or dents in the edging I might miss by the standard eye test.

Man I HATE what MTG has become. New cards ever 3 months is a cash grab. The cards take literally 30 seconds to read and comprehend what they do. Commander is insufferable to understand the board state since so many new cards all the time and so long to read. I started playing in the stronghold block and loved the game through middle and high school. Sold majority of my cards to buy my first house in 2009. Nailed the bottom of the market. Yea the cards are worth double now but so is the house. What makes me even more sad though is, I will never be able to play with my son. He is 3 now and will need to be 13 to understand the game now, and even then the life has been sucked out of it. Every time I try to play with friends I say “I remember why I hate this game now.” And the new cards are stupid powerful! We apparently have lord of the rings cards and stuff now? Jesus wizards. How has this cash grab not back fired yet? And don’t get me started on the price of older cards. $40k gets you a decent legacy deck. Dual lands cost $400?! There is my rant. I’ll continue to scream into the void!
While the core of my point can be undercut by your statement, I can still say, the clear change is Hasbro's strategy, to both, anchor their wallstreet financials to MTG in a way that they never did for the first 25 years, and at the same time, to over print and dilute the IP that is the basis for that revenue stream. It's a short term push for revenue to sustain the stock price for as long as possible. You have cardboard competing with AI for market cap. Come on man, out down the glue.
The only problems I see is at the ground level are the combination of the bad economy, people losing their jobs, and that they fucked MTG 3 ways to Sundaynbybover printing bad sets. So we'll see if they can actually sustain their revenue after the player base falls out.

MTG previously was a product with a huge moat - it was self-moating. It had been continually worldbuilding since it's inception. Now that it's just a vehicle to sell shit based on other IP, there's literally nothing special about it. Hasbro destroyed the moat on their own property. We've seen Palworld basically ripping off Pokemon and mostly getting away with it, Hasbro has made MTG vulnerable to some other company creating an alternative TCG that steals the rich rule system of MTG but fixes all the 'problems' it has. It could be a new TCG based on an established fantasy or sci-fi IP, or it could be an entirely newly written lore, in either case Hasbro will be absolutely fucked if/when this happens. Once MTG has a serious competitor, resale value will plummet and people will cease buying new sealed product to speculate on valuable pulls.
They should diversify, like Hitachi. I'll that my MTG Wand and activate my land card, if you know what I mean.
MTG is printed in EU for that market, Japan for Asia market, and US for NA market. The tariffs are about the core toy business which has been pulling the company down since COVID disruptions and shipping costs skyrocketed, then tariffs impacts. That has hopefully been sorted through now.

That's entirely false. Those are the cards held purely for reselling or for collectors. Plenty of people do play these cards. The bulk of them get played way before anyone knows they're poised to explode in value. And the reason they're valued is often because they are game changers in competitive decks. I myself know people who sports MTG decks worth well into the 5 figures strictly for legacy tournaments.
The fact that lots of people play the game is what creates the value: it creates a demand for the cards outside of pure speculative value. Same as MTG cards and other games. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies don't have any other use thus there is no demand inherent to them other than for speculation.

And asking it questions like, while it can give accurate and insightful information, can also take information that is speculative at best and include it. "something like 6 months to over a year to up list" is one of those things. S3, by itself, does not completely open the door for up-listing. Yes, there are drug companies that work with S3 products that are on these exchanges but you'll notice that nearly all of them are working with a product that is going through an FDA Study and Approval Process. It will be a hard lift for medical marijuana companies, with no FDA Approval, to get the backing for an uplist months, or possibly years, after a change to policy that had decades of precedent before it. One that could easily be scheduled back to 1 with a changing political wind. What needs to happen is the passing of SAFE Banking. That would likely be a strong enough catalyst IMO to lead to an up-list soon (months) after. However, that bill has been in play for .... checks notes.... a decade. Rescheduling could be a motivating factor to help pass it, yes. But dems in congress are stuck on the equity portions of legislation and have blocked progressive bills that don't include it (Pisses me the fuck off). And some republicans still hate marijuana.
