My being new to trading back in 2001, I bought NSPR which is a penny stock. It did a reverse split when the stock was trading under $1. After the reverse split the priced dropped further and I had fewer shares. Just today, I took at $4300 loss after deciding the stock is dead money. I’ve made enough gains to offset the loss and will do the tax harvesting to reduce my taxable income if necessary.
Best lesson is if you see profits take it. I made close to $11k by swing trading and with shares that i had planned to hold long. I made the majority of my gains from VTI etf and the big tech companies. What I won’t be doing anymore is investing in foreign stocks. Im stuck with NSPR. I might do tax loss harvesting to offset my capital gains.

The other dude already explained it fantastically but I can also just say that I’ve witnessed several stocks do reverse splits this year and can say in layman’s terms that the stock almost *never* benefits from it. Recently dodged a bullet by taking profit at just he right time with TRCH. Not too long after the Ex Div date arrive and they announced a 2 for 1 stock split. It was already dropping from sell the news and the stock split just made it drop further. Often stock splits signal more share offerings in the future so it’s basically a double L. They’re not only increasing downside potential per share by raising the price and potentially lowering support levels but they’re also giving themselves more leeway to make the float fatter and make your shares worth even less. Reverse stocks for the most part are nothing but bad news. Look ASRT, CTRM, NSPR, ONTX, and GHSI. Reverse stock splits did nothing good for any of those tickers.

I have fourteen different accounts across eleven different brokerages, including Schwab, Fidelity, Vanguard, Webull, Tradestation, Firstrade, Public, Dough, Chase, and Ally. The reason is to take better advantage of reverse splits. Just today, $NSPR did a 15:1 that cost me 45¢ and returned about $7. It's not scalable vertically, however, so you buy one share each on several accounts. It's also given me some nice visibility into the house across the street, if you will. Based on this, I will say that Robinhood mobile app is probably the easiest and most fun to use. They don't process things as quickly as other brokers and the choices of investment vehicles is pathetic, but a lot of the OGs don't do crypto. Those that do don't do it as cleanly as RH. Also, they seem to push users in certain directions that I think is sleazy—for example, if I didn't know what a limit order was I wouldn't know to go looking for it and I'd be placing market orders all day.

Classic example I would give is MoviePass. Remember MoviePass? They did *multiple* reverse splits if I recall, each time in an attempt to keep their stock high enough to avoid being delisted. But what the reverse split does is prevent the stock from ever hitting "bottom." It'll increase the ticker price...so that it can fall more. NSPR doesn't look as dire as that, obviously. They're above $6 a share. But I can't think of many situations in which a reverse split would be a *good* thing.

I am heavy into $NSPR. Will undergo a reverse stock split in preparation to uplist from AMEX to nasdaq after close Monday. Usually the RS is not a good thing because the company is trying to stay afloat but they have enough cash to operate for the next 2 years and are starting an FDA trial for new stent technology that’s already being used throughout the world. Was up 3% yesterday and 12% after hours. I think it could run pretty high Monday but looking for a 5-8x potential after reverse split, uplisting, and FDA trial.
I bought one share of $NSPR also. $UOLI is another potential, but being from Hong Kong they might just cash you out instead of doing the reverse stock split.
I bought this one on Friday and sold today. Bought it at .58 and sold it at .60 cause I chickened out.. lol I have NSPR as well that is getting ready to do a reverse stock split and get traded on the Nasdaq and figured one wild gamble at a time was all my nerves could handle.. Mostly cash atm outside of GNUS. I have no idea what pennies even have momentum anymore. So many are either flatlining or going down right now. I guess the one perk to all this is that many pennies that got gassed up way too much are now getting their prices checked back to an affordable range again. Many tickers like NSPR (however good they may be) are back under a dollar now.

Sometimes but I don’t have a ton of liquid so my positions and gains are small. I think NSPR is one to look out for as well as AABB but that one is on Fidelity.

Checkout NSPR, they’re a cardiovascular technology company out of Israel, and it’s only 0.89 a share right now, they’re earnings statement release is set for next week and they’ve experienced tremendous spikes in the past, mainly in February when they went up to $1.31 a share, they opened 5 years ago on the NYSE at over $300 per share
