I see six tons of universities, colleges, and other schools advertising "Launch your career as a \[INSERT JOB TITLE HERE\] with our degree programs" and oops. Zero internships. So people take out six tons of student loans for those in demand degrees and wind up working at Starbucks after graduation. Only 15% of jobs are unionized, so you got seriously lucky there. The other people who get hit by layoffs and attempt to reskill, are pretty much screwed.
