And no, it's not the same, but this also isn't Iraq. I know I know, everyone has to believe that Trump is an idiot. Fine, whatever. But even he knows republicans get demolished at midterms if this becomes a prolonged conflict and is still fresh at that point. I have no problem admitting I'm wrong and will gladly say I got it wrong with my vote at midterms if that's how this turns out. But, again, I seriously doubt this becomes a prolonged conflict. And I know everyone out there on social media is forcing themselves to pretend Iran somehow has an upper hand here or is somehow winning... They aren't. They got fucked up. Their entire leadership structure was killed immediately, basically their entire navy is gone including their flagship, their stockpiles are greatly diminished with some but minimal success... They can puff out their chests all they want, it's what they do... But there is also just the reality of it which is they did suffer serious setbacks that aren't things they'll recover from any time soon. The only way this really becomes a drawn out mess is if we put boots on the ground and I highly doubt that happens at least in large numbers. Again, If I am wrong I will absolutely vote accordingly. Having a PH out of Afghanistan myself... I *do* feel a certain way about boots on the ground today. And for the time being I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and also not shy away from the fact that whatever ulterior motives you want to run with, we did just pink mist some serious pieces of shit.

I'm not going to plug in any fresh buy orders before Monday comes around since I still need to observe the news headlines and see how the war in the Middle East continues to unfold, but amongst the several dozen watchlist names that I'd like to have, if I had to narrow it down to only a select few, I'd say that these are my first priority if the non-oil market stabilizes: ROK > PH > AME > RRX > LFUS > CMI > HUBB (in this order) Those are fresh additions on top of my other 300+ positions that I already have, which is already quite industrial-heavy.

Rug pull or massive futures loss of \~2B from a company with ties to state sponsored gold mining, hundreds of thousands of Chinese are out that money. My concern with investing in the US is that there are high taxes for foreigners, currency exchange is too high, and fees regarding transferring/withdrawing money to/from my broker which forced me to do this in large sums just to take advantage of the fees. Before I even buy, I'm already at a loss. If I could solve at least half of these problems, then I would definetely go all in with US. Which is also why I'm still more invested in the the PH (no index names in my portfolio) compared to US market.

I live in the Philippines. I know that wages are low here, but it's an unequal society and the segment of the Filipino community who are on reddit tend to be the highest earners. Yeah, I post about these type of companies here a lot. I find them really interesting. Like PH is great, but I think there is better value/better investments in the space, however PH is still solid. I've moved a lot of position into aerospace the last 6months or so, since it's just been killing it and it's a great way to get out of tech. Like I'm better heavy in data center and electrification, but I've been there before the LLM's and explosive growth. So wanted to get some exposure out of those sectors and aerospace is rad. $CW is another really cool name, but it's more energy/naval/aerospace play. I love $OSIS which gets you some aerospace and just general defense. $ESE is kind of like $CW, but more focused on naval. $MLI is extremely boring, does like copper pipping, but is a set and forget type of investment. $APH is boring connectors company, but this more data center exposure, but still have business in things like aerospace. $ITT does like pump values and what not, with some aerospace. $HWM is another name that does like fasteners for planes. $MOG.A is another boring company that does like sensors for aerospace.

There's a lot of great names in that space. I like PH, but personally, I think it trades at a higher valuation than I normally like. Like $CRS and $ATI are great names to get out of tech and also are seeing booms in aerospace. $BELFB makes fuses and is blowing almost every stock I've ever seen out of the water in terms of returns.

So for now just holding out to be honest. Prepared to do so for a while. In addition to the potential for an acquisition, they have the best off-the-shelf cancer vaccine data with competitors like BioNTech and Moderna recently putting out some results in related melanoma indications that were not as good as IOBT. Also, the PH2 results in SCCHN and NSCLC (particularly SCCHN) also looked decent, and I don’t feel like any of that is accounted for in the stock price. Overall, I feel like we know with more certainty that the drug works and we can buy the stock for a lower price 🤷‍♂️

ASTS is more accessible to the 3rd world too, 95% of them already have some level of access to internet. Most of the time it will be through a cell phone not wifi not a laptop. Having traveled to PH, I used grab plenty of times for rides and food delivery. With that being said, SEA countries typically have lots of forms of public transportation like taxis, tricycles, jeepneys, buses etc and over a much lower price point. If they can start converting those other modes into their platform, I can see them taking off.
