My concern with investing in the US is that there are high taxes for foreigners, currency exchange is too high, and fees regarding transferring/withdrawing money to/from my broker which forced me to do this in large sums just to take advantage of the fees. Before I even buy, I'm already at a loss. If I could solve at least half of these problems, then I would definetely go all in with US. Which is also why I'm still more invested in the the PH (no index names in my portfolio) compared to US market.

I live in the Philippines. I know that wages are low here, but it's an unequal society and the segment of the Filipino community who are on reddit tend to be the highest earners. Yeah, I post about these type of companies here a lot. I find them really interesting. Like PH is great, but I think there is better value/better investments in the space, however PH is still solid. I've moved a lot of position into aerospace the last 6months or so, since it's just been killing it and it's a great way to get out of tech. Like I'm better heavy in data center and electrification, but I've been there before the LLM's and explosive growth. So wanted to get some exposure out of those sectors and aerospace is rad. $CW is another really cool name, but it's more energy/naval/aerospace play. I love $OSIS which gets you some aerospace and just general defense. $ESE is kind of like $CW, but more focused on naval. $MLI is extremely boring, does like copper pipping, but is a set and forget type of investment. $APH is boring connectors company, but this more data center exposure, but still have business in things like aerospace. $ITT does like pump values and what not, with some aerospace. $HWM is another name that does like fasteners for planes. $MOG.A is another boring company that does like sensors for aerospace.

Also, the PH2 results in SCCHN and NSCLC (particularly SCCHN) also looked decent, and I don’t feel like any of that is accounted for in the stock price. Overall, I feel like we know with more certainty that the drug works and we can buy the stock for a lower price 🤷‍♂️

With that being said, SEA countries typically have lots of forms of public transportation like taxis, tricycles, jeepneys, buses etc and over a much lower price point. I don't really see Pfizer buying Viking. Pfizer is set to invest $10-$15 Billion in partnerships or acquisitions but have continued over the last few months to say it will happen in smaller transactions focused in 4 areas including obesity. But they are not willing to over pay. and would not spend their full $15 billion on one transaction. There are actually a lot of other obesity drugs in the pipeline that could pose a threat to Viking. Sure, a lot of them are behind Viking in trials; however, Viking has also been slow at getting the Ph3 Trial going as well as their Ph2 Trial. The Ph3 Trial probably will not readout until 2027, so you are still looking at years before approval and so much can happen between now and then with competitor data and their own data from trials. After there oral data is released, they really do not have any catalysts until 2027, unless they partner or get bought out. Management really hasn't done well with partnering their MASH drug, even with the solid data. There are also half a dozen or so companies with PH 2 MASH data due out. I think we will get a good bump if the Ph2 oral data is good but after that it is sort of wait a couple years for the new data and insane cash bleed. Regardless of whatever happens with AI and semiconductors, most people on the planet are going to use the restroom and take a shower tomorrow morning, get their mammograms or whatever, turn on the heat or AC, and buy groceries, even if they’re eating Walmart casserole. Yup, if your still in, your best best bet now is to be a long term holder and pray for a buy out so they can continue to PH3 as they don’t have the funds to do right now, or accept that they will exercise their 100 million ATM to fund them selfs for PH3, and hope it will be worth something in the long run, but you could be looking at years here. An imminent buy out seems unrealistic.

In surgical oncology, there is an argument to reduce the primary tumour size prior to surgical excision to reduce morbidity secondary to surgery (eg: larger excision needed). From my understanding, PH-762 is primarily aimed to reduce the tumour size and limit further growth in order to facilitate tumour excision. So I can see this drug being used pre-surgery to reduce and limit tumour progression to improve the chance of a complete excision with surgery with normal margins.
