As someone who grew up in the region. The straight is a super busy area. There's tons of fishermen on little dinky boats. All it takes is some fanatic with an RPG. There is serious boy cry wolf vibes and the world seems to be getting fed up with this even though some Americans are used to it by now. 2. Zionists are not a reliable actor in sustaining ceasefire or accommodating negotiations lol they are still bombing humanitarian infrastructure as I type. 3. Iranians are not reliable actors as we have done decapitation attacks and hurt their communication and chain of command. In the end if doesn’t even matter if Ayatollah #2 wants immediate peace (he probably doesn’t since we killed his family). We have no way of knowing if any random group of Iranians pissed off about us killing their daughters going to school just want to have an RPG party over the mountains overlooking the strait. There's been lots of commentary from Iran experts I've listened to recently, and they're all indicating that whilst it's very difficult to predict (given we know very little about what's going on inside the regime), Game Theory dictates that the war continues. Essentially, Iran knows that its only power is the Strait now. Trump also knows this. But where is the incentive for peace here? Iran wants the US to back off sure, but even if Trump backs off, Iran is going to want nothing except total guarantees they won't try this fuckery again. How can they guarantee that? They can't. Is the US going to let them just build their own nukes and lift sanctions? Of course not. This whole war kinda benefits the regime as well due to the rally round the flag effect which is probably why we aren't seeing any protests etc. The only thing Iranians hate more than the regime is America and that common enemy is very useful to them. Then add into all this, all it takes is ONE rogue drone or guerilla fighter with an RPG (like in Yemen) threatening ships in the Strait to make the risk not worth it because insurance is still a nightmare. Bear in mind the navigable part is only 2 miles across at one point.

Nukes are a defensive weapon. Pakistan has attack helicopters, fighter jets, and semi-advanced weaponry. Afghanastan has some of what the US left during the withdrawl, and some RPG's. This will not be a fair fight, and is likely an excuse for Pakistan to grab land from Afghanistan

It felt the same as one of their new assassins creed game. Repeated missions, damage bars for no reason, removed building interiors. A mess of a game mechanics (am i supposed to be emphasized with the people or not? Is this a resource management game or an open world shooter??)
Here's what Ubisoft should do: For Honor styled fantasy game with that angular combat but designed similarly to Dark Souls in terms of exploration and enemy variety. Billion dollar franchise right there. The Crew 3 with handling physics given full priority and none of the RPG leveling gear nonsense from Crew 2. Hard-core stealth immersive sim Splinter Cell game with really good co-op that includes a system where enemy players can invade you mid mission after you are detected for the first time. Far Cry remakes of the entire series with absolutely none of the loot shit from 6 and New Dawn. Greater emphasis on survival elements and crafting out in the wilderness, better enemy variety and AI and level design. Level based (not open world but very large open missions that take hours to complete) Assassins Creed game heavily emphasizing stealth above all other mechanics, with no RPG loot number shit they added with the one in Egypt. There's much more but these are the braindead no shit decisions Ubisoft should have made ages ago for they completely fucked their value. Whoever runs that company is a fucking dipshit from head to toe. They have zero idea what makes games fun and interesting.

AA - Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 may actually win game of the year and has stunned a lot of people being a turn based RPG that a lot of people didn't think could still be a viable genre. Indie - Hollow Knight: Silksong is better than its predecessor and has cemented itself as one of the best Metroidvanias. 2025 was a stellar year for games.

They have good IPs. Assassins Creed, Far Cry, and the whole Tom Clancy's stuff. They're known for AC though, and for the past decade they've basically butchered the franchise. Repetitive gameplay, sketchy storyline, and this weird back and forth shift to RPG style and stealth-focused. They need direction and the current leadership is not providing it.
"Pretty good" is . They are mid at best lol. Watered down RPG systems that provide no real gameplay value and are there purposefully to slow your progress down in hopes of buying XP boost. MTX shop in a singleplayer game. Vast open world that admittedly looks nice but is filled with the most boring slop fetch quests and the classic "clear the outpost" activities. Main story and characters so forgetful they could be a movie starred by the Rock. If that's pretty good, what's bad? Now, this will be an asshole elitist take from me but AC has joined the holy trifecta of "Fifa, CoD, AC" games. Which means when somebody tells me they mainly play one of these games, I immediately know they ain't really into gaming. They are just killing time.

I have a feeling they mainly decided RPG was the right directions because that genre makes it decently easy to shit out slop while making it easy to waste the players' time Next step is Odyssey with its booster packs and many of the issues of Origins Valhalla fixed some stuff but the time period and the map weren't meant for AC Mirage was a step in the right direction but that'd be a long journey Haven't played Shadows so I can't comment on it

I come from a humble upbringing, when I moved to the States I left all my savings to my parents (around $6k I had saved in my local currency), and got here with about $300 usd. How did you make it? • I’ve always lived below my means. • I married a person with a similar mindset to mine. Supportive, and sees our relationship as “team work” in all areas of life, including the financial aspects. (We’re both immigrants). • I optimized for having a walking commute to work, so I don’t own a car. • I treated my life like an RPG, always grinding, leveling up my skills, and seeking promotions + increasing my income. • I’ve sacrificed many personal things, but I keep thinking that I have to support my parents, so that’s my main driver of focus.
I disagree, competition is far from fierce for high quality RPG single players games. We have shitload of shitty co-up shooters, arena shooters and survival games, but good AAA single player come out maybe once every 2 years, because there are very few studios who got the budget, talent and balls to pull that off. And boycott have never worked in gaming history, Can you name one successful boycot, because I can't ? Internet tried to boycot Hogwards Legacy (Harry poter AAA) and it sold 34 mil copies. People tend find scapegoat for poor sales and attribute that to boycott, when in fact their game didn't sell, because it was bad. Gamers don't care about politics, they just want to have fun games.
My wife is a lotto ticket player. She thinks scoring $1000 on the lotto is "real money". Me getting a $20 roi from parking a bit of money some place over the weekend is not "real money". Best I've been able to do is get her to max her 401k and invest it in an index DCA-n-chill. By investing slowly and steadily over time and watching it grow. $50k wasn't even any of the principle, it was just part of the ROI. She is younger than me and career motivated, and has an exec job prospect coming up. As long as she's making bank she won't care about investing. That's why I try to step in and do it for her when I can. There's some people that just don't care, though until they see someone at the end of the marathon and go "holy shit, how did you do that?!" and the person goes "slow n steady with goals and strategy". and the person realizes they've wasted all their time and can't do it now. We get a lot of folks late in life posting on here asking what they can do to make up for lost time. I got into investing at 18 when I was working a crap job for crap pay, and one guy in my RPG tabletop group was working part time at a bakery but had his own car and apartment. I asked him how he did it. His dad bought him dividend stocks when he was a kid, and handed them to him when he was old enough to move out. He was living on the dividends. I was like "omg, there's a way out from working a crap job for the rest of my life until I die?!" I picked his brain. He got me interested, then I bought books, and did the rest. So, basically.. it's psychology / sociology.. you can't change a person. All you can do is change their environment and see if they'll change. A lot of folks don't care about investing until they hit some kind of wall or moment of clarity.. like realizing they're gonna work a crap job until they die if they don't do something, or realize they're getting too old to work and suddenyl wonder if they can do something with the money they have saved to save them from the "working until they die" hell hole they got caught in. Best you could probably do for her right now is just try to manage and invest her money for her. But, if she's making squat, and wants to spend it as it comes in, then she'll just see you as a threat by taking her money. And, she'll probably see any kind of investment next egg you save up for her as a windfall to go blow.. like on a trip or big ticket purchase. You can't change the person.. you have to let them figure it out for themselves, then try to help them when they wake up and try to make a change.

I grew up most of my life in California and now I live in PA. I lol at what people around here are saying about the situation. You do not want to piss these people off. I saw more intense riots when In-and-Out ran outta burgers. The police station in my hometown was once shot with an RPG.
