I have separate watchlist on biotech and pharma stocks and set up alerts on google, yfinance, and levelfields which helped me a lot and saw that there are lots of breakthrough therapies that are worth watching: MRUS - Merus N.V. Yeah I’m here wondering if any mechanism that can cause a housing price-collapse is in place. So far, I don’t see it. I only see stagnation, and higher rents. In 2008, Variable Interest Rates (VIR) were what caused people to lose homes. Imagine today if people had VIRs, JPOWs rate hikes would be evicting everyone. That’s what happened back then, but it’s not in the mechanism now. So nobody is getting evicted. And with rates high, nobody is going to be buying, which means nobody is going to be selling, which means nobody is going to be building, which means apartments are the only new houses, which means rents go up.

I like how you assume I don't know how to trade based off of one stock that I'm bagholding. Only stocks I'm holding long are this and AMC (for the movement ofc) but I'm primarily a swing trader mainly as I've pointed out several times on these subs. I've been making bank swing trading pump and dumps recently like ATER and RDBX as well as MULN that don't have any short squeeze catalysts behind them unlike BBIG. I've also been making bank swing trading other less known and talked about tickers on these subs like VIR and NIO... Lastly, just this past Friday I nearly 2x'ed my investment with SIGA on Friday and am looking into another bio pharmaceutical play I'll be banking on very soon 🤣. $VIR has been on a downtrend for months and some whale(s) are gobbling those shares up. Biotech startups never have this much cash without debt and the trials are going well. Looking forward to seeing this nest egg hatch in 10 or so years.
VIR - they made over $2B in revenue from their Covid Antibody in the last 2 quarters. Currently sitting at a $2.5B market cap. They have a deep Hepatitis B pipeline that could be worth upwards of $10B alone by 2026. Other reasons to invest: partnerships with Gilead, GSK, and Alnylam to name a few. They have been hiring and expanding like crazy. They rent office space in SF at the Dropbox HQ. If you know about real estate, you know how significant that is. While most small cap biotechs are hurting for cash right now and could be targeted for buyouts, these guys still have a product on the markets generating revenue and a 4 year cash runway thanks to Q4/Q1

Maybe it's a stupid idea - but I decided to play VIR ER This was last quarter - beat everything by a mile only went up $2 EPS Normalized Actual $3.92 (Beat by $2.36) EPS GAAP Actual $3.92 (Beat by $1.29) Revenue Actual $812.75M Revenue Surprise Beat by $189.85M These are the numbers to beat tonight - I expect them to be beaten easily since last Quarter's numbers could have beaten them. This quarter was their best quarter ever. EPS Normalized Estimate $3.62 EPS GAAP Estimate $3.54 Revenue Estimate $811.05M Only issue is guidance...but luckily they don't give out guidance...their MAB had issues neutralizing the new COVID variant at it's current dose point. I'm playing ER to see the market reaction to a monster beat(over bill rev with 4 EPS) with no guidance and with stock price 60 cents from 52 week low.. balance sheet of over a billion in cash with very little debt to fund their pipeline of drugs coming out in the future.

I think you should actually just look into $VIR It's going to explode at some point this year. Once they release phase 2 trials for there functional hepatitis b cure. I'm trying to figure out why SP is being so suppressed in the short-term
Good move. I've been "fighting" them by investing in VIR because they took time to really come out with a safe and effective treatment. Yet When MM's are in bed with government and big pharma, seems like SP is really just up to them.

Still scaling into calls. Thursday was a green bar and Friday a red hammer, looking like another red hammer today. I'm bullish af. In February last year $VIR had a big ass runup but it settled back down by April. If you look at the chart since April of last year, it's touched higher highs and lower lows: * May $36 June $50 * August $35 June $55 * November $30 December $58 When i first entered a position on $VIR in January, I expected it to hit lows below $30 before taking off. I honestly anticipated $26 as the floor but it has dipped a little lower. Still, I expect it to run and hit resistance at around $60, if it breaks it should test $80 or so. Past that, who knows.

Stock price tanking.. Sotrovimab inactive vs new variant.. VIR can't meet supply demand. Buy the fear sell the greed. I have been buying some up near $29.50 levels when it drops.. and as OP said the price doesn't stay there long. It could certainly drop below that if the FDA labels this as ineffective against the BA2 subvariant. I think it still retains activity against ALL variants though. Management has stated this as well and will be PRing their findings very soon. These guys are all scientists and when they say it works they usually have peer review quality papers with the data to back it up. 2nd gen Sotrovimab as well as prophylaxis trials are underway. This is just one aspect of their pipeline, which currently provides them 72.5% of the revenue split..Their collaboration partner GSK bought more shares last quarter and there is speculation that VIR is on the top of their list for buyout targets.
Biotech pump and dumps are so commonplace because most people are gambling on scientific studies, fda approval, etc. Speculation. Most companies trade at multiple times their earnings; for example GSK's market cap exceeds 20x VIR's yet their Q4 earnings were just around half of what VIR's will be.
In February last year VIR didn't have $3b + in sales. Omicron wasn't even a thing yet.

I dont understand market cap analyses. $VIR has a market cap of $4.2b when they have nearly that much in revenue between Q4 2021 and the end of FY 2022. And here you're saying $900m in revenue warrant a higher market cap than $VIR has. I bought in anyway cause I belong here.

From their most recent PR: "GSK and Vir expect to manufacture approximately 2 million doses globally in the first half of 2022 and additional doses in the second half of the year." Maybe they had some more on the shelf prior to the star of the year? My estimate would be no more than 2.25mm sold for 1H. Just for that time period, and using $2800 per dose that would be a $4.5B gross for VIR after the split with GSK.
They've already had binding contracts for 1.7m doses worldwide. That's $2.5b revenue for VIR. Lmao
Pharma might catch up…at some point. VIR has a treatment that can deliver now and address the current variant that is out of control. The rest of pharma may have a solution for future variants, but I’ll take the bird in the hand now.

The tricky part is knowing how much GSK is charging on expense. GSK reported equiv $153M in sales for Q3. At $2,100 per dose equals 72,743 doses. VIR recognized $102,398,000 in collaboration revenue in Q3. That comes out to VIR portion being $1,408 per dose. 661,257 is going to be what the Q4 volume is (George told us) which translates to $931M in collaboration revenue. Burn rate roughly $165M per quarter...round up to $170M. Taxes at $251M we are looking at earnings of $510M for the quarter, or $3.89 EPS
They only delivered about 16K doses in Q2 and 70K doses in Q3. Yesterday Scangos said 750K doses through the end of the year delivered so roughly 650K for Q4. We know the US govt was 450K of them. 650K doses is over $1.3B in total sales. VIR gets 72.5% of that before expenses
Found new comp today. Adagio biotech claimed to target an ending of Covid-19 that could withstand omicron variant and future mutations. Company jumped to 10 billion mkt cap at one point, then again covered with PT by Morgan Stanley. Still a monoclonal antibody not polyclonal. Settled around 5 billion. Dropped to 3.5 ish on VIR and GSK announcement of omicron efficacy and then finally tanked to 850 million when in vitro showed lowered efficacy against omicron. Even where it sits now implied sabs price of ~20 a share. 5 billion $110 a share 10 billion $220 a share Even after terrible news still elevated.
I don't have exact numbers but I believe the bulk of those doses have been sold or are waiting to be PR'ed that they have been sold. The market knows this and may have already priced this in. It looks to me that the ability to produce more than the 2 mm doses is what will drive this thing in the short term. IM approval could be huge, as long as they have doses to ship right away. You are correct that valuation is on the low side, but they seem to not have the lobbying power of the other Pharmas. Gvmt dropped the ball months ago when they didn't use the defense production act to compel other MAB producers to help make Sotrovimab. VIR always had the best MAB available in respect to effectiveness against future variants. You can bet competitors are already working on catching up to them.
GSK said they would to be able to produce 2 million doses by May. VIR gets 72.5% of Sotrovimab's sales and each dose is $2100. That's $3b in sales for a company with a $5b market cap. Intramuscular Sotro will increase productive capacity significantly. The only thing that could fuck them is this Pfizer or merck pill taking off.
Profit split is roughly 75% for VIR and 25% for GSK. This is definitely a decent play, but if they don't PR a huge increase in production capacity soon, then this may not move much. US 300,000 dose order for the IV infusion is set to be delivered this next week. BUT if they get IM approval (should be soon) and PR that they have already been manufacturing or the doses are ready to ship, then 🚀🚀🚀 I have $60 Jan options and shares.

what blows my mind is HCW has a $300 price target on VIR while baird at $36. Early jan we should see omicron cases spike and an announcement of more doses purchased, I think this can hit $80 again.
Interesting can you elaborate more about the lawsuit. Yes it’s very high risk investment, it started to sank after rejection of EUA from FDA , I regained interest after the lancet review and when I compared it to $VIR drug that’s “in theory “ less effective then HGEN drug . I think Q1 will show us big news.
