I also love that they just completely ignore macroeconomic events like Evergrande filing for Bankruptcy protection in the US. While tons of other US banks have rocky balance sheets at the moment from over exposure to long term T-bills. Instead “Blackrock did it,” some how makes way more sense… China, the worlds second largest economy is slowly imploding, and the US is continuing to raise interest rates at every FOMC meeting with at least two more likely coming before a potential pause. Investors who have their money tied up in risk on assets, are naturally running to safe haven assets. But the only logical explanation must be, Blackrock is trying to implode the crypto market for a better BTC entry point… For a fund that hasn’t even been approved yet.

People seem confused in the comments and though i agree its not the greatest article ever written the opinion may be valid. Market participants had basically arrived at the conclusion that the fed pause on rate hikes was a sign that the terminal rate was here, and they would keep rates elevated (since monetary policy lags and to avoid overtightening) before ultimately cutting rates and starting the next bull run. FOMC minutes were much more doomer than expected and crumbled the hopes of a near-term bull market with the terminal rate probably being much higher (will know more come Q4).

FOMC predictions? Mine are.. BTC goes up before the rates are announced. If it’s 0.25 then it’ll taper off and consolidate to around where we are now and things will be flat. Regardless of 0.25 or not Powell will say they’ll consider raising rates again as many times as it takes to get to 2% inflation depending on data. So he’ll be hawkish regardless of a raise or pause. This may drop the markets a bit. Chances of 0.25 today are very high. Hawkish fed is 99.999999%. Can’t see them saying anything different.

tldr; The article discusses how rate hikes by the Federal Reserve (Fed) affect the cryptocurrency market. It explains that the Fed's monetary policy aims to achieve maximum employment, stable prices, and moderate interest rates. Rate hikes by the Fed increase the cost of capital, making it more expensive to invest or spend money, which leads to a decline in demand and lower prices. The article also mentions that the stock market is sensitive to changes in the federal funds rate, and the crypto market often reacts similarly to the stock market. However, the biggest short-term effects of rate hikes are psychological, as markets often anticipate and price in FOMC decisions. Overall, the Fed has a strong influence on financial markets, but the market has become more accustomed to rate hikes, and their impact on short-term prices has diminished. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. “ACH is just used by the banks” - *EXACTLY*! I’m glad you’re understanding that now. But hey, you use what you want. You don’t mind your banks and credit / debit card fees going to the big banks that own Zelle, that’s you’re thing. More power too you, just don’t bitch and moan if they start charging higher fees to the banks that they process Zelle for who then pass the cost onto you. One more thing. The Federal Reserve *isn’t the federal government* while the Board of Governors are appointed by the president, they make up only a portion of the FOMC committee and the Presidents of the FRB districts make up the other portion (who are not appointed and in many cases have worked at their respective Districts for years if not decades.) It was created by Federal Reserve Act, is independent of the Executive branch and of Congress, which is why the president can’t force the FOMC to lower interest rates and why Congress doesn’t like the FOMC when they make difficult choices that benefits the economy to the detriment of certain constituents of the elected officials.

As the Federal Reserve meeting concludes, it is expected that bitcoin's price may continue to experience fluctuations within a narrow range. The market has already incorporated expectations of a 25 basis point rate hike by the Fed this week and is closely monitoring signals about future rate actions. Until there is more data and confidence in inflation trends, the FOMC's rate decisions will likely remain uncertain, potentially impacting Bitcoin's ability to break out of the $31,500 level in the short term. Investors will closely analyze the Fed's statements for any potential impact on the cryptocurrency market.

tldr; The article discusses the upcoming monetary policy deliberations of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) and the likelihood of a rate hike. The CME Rate Watch tool predicts a 98% probability of a 25 basis point increase, which would raise the federal funds rate to its highest level in 17 years. The FOMC has expressed concerns about inflation and has suggested the possibility of further rate hikes. The crypto markets have not been significantly impacted by these macroeconomic developments. The article also mentions upcoming economic data releases, such as the Consumer Confidence Index, jobless claims, and Personal Consumption Expenditures, which could influence the FOMC's decision-making. The Fed aims to reduce inflation to its target of 2%. tldr; The relevant text for the article title is: "The next FOMC meeting will be held on July 25-26. Despite the pause in June, there is a 92% market probability of a quarter-point rate hike at the July meeting, given the Fed's commitment to maximum employment and price stability. The consensus among market experts suggests that the Fed may introduce a total of two more 25-basis-point rate hikes this year to moderate inflation to the Fed's 2% target. Some Fed watchers remain concerned about more interest rate increases due to risks of bank failures, stock market instability, and global economic uncertainty. Market expectations for the next meeting later in July are mixed. Some analysts believe that the Fed will resume its benchmark borrowing rate increases after a "hawkish pause," saying that even though inflation has moderated, it remains a concern. Others think that the Fed may remain on hold, given the risks of bank failures, a tepid stock market, and global economic instability. Overall, the consensus is that the Fed will impose two additional 25-basis-point rate hikes before the end of the year." Summary: The next Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting will be held in July, and there is a high probability of a quarter-point rate hike. Market experts predict that the Fed may introduce two more rate hikes this year to moderate inflation. However, there are concerns about the risks of bank failures, stock market instability, and global economic uncertainty. Some analysts believe the Fed will resume rate hikes, while others think it may remain on hold. well, the good news is pretty much everyone is expecting a rate hike, and so the only surprise would be no hike as a hike at this meeting is pretty much priced in. plus even with a hike the speech could be more dovish than in recent memory, so that alone could result in upward movement if investors see this as possibly the final hike (even with 2 being suggested last FOMC).

I won't tell you who to follow though as some are always bearish and some are always bullish. Some don't post charts, they post what looks like the plan for a fusion reactor. When you open a position, make sure that it will hold the counter trading and don't close it all at once. That's when you realize the losses in total. When I open a position I make sure to have at least 150% margin, my exchange will liquidate the position at under 80% margin. With a 100$ you should make 10 bucks a trade. Read up on rollover fees. These are the fees that the exchange has for having the position open. It's like 0,x% ever x hours. Each is different. Identify and learn what is support and resistance on the charts and trade the range in between them. Bitcoin moved up to 31.700 and down to 29.600 like almost for a month again and again. Don't speculate on a breakout if you aren't positioned already. Often, when a lot of shorts or longs are opened, a squeeze in the counter direction will occur. Like at the range lows for Bitcoin everyone say it's over expecting it to brake out of the range and dip lower. Or at 31.700 people a calling 100k .... Don't stress it. I got liquidated 2 times, learned the hard way. And you don't have to trade every day. We don't have the knowledge or the margin to do that. Avoid FOMC, CPI and other US Gov and earning dates. Good luck!

The bond market is $300trn...well...was anyway. Is there enough 'money' for that to happen? Great points on price being set on the margin, and market cap being a function of price. Here's another interesting point regarding 'money'... "The problem is that we cannot extract from our statistical database what IS true money conceptually, either in the transactions mode or the store-of-value mode. One of the reasons, obviously, is that the proliferation of products has been so extraordinary that the true underlying mix of money in our money and near money data is continuously changing. As a consequence, while of necessity it must be the case at the end of the day that inflation has to be a monetary phenomenon, a decision to base policy on measures of money presupposes that we can locate money. And that has become an increasingly dubious proposition." \-Alan Greenspan, FOMC Meeting Transcript, June 2000
