Those are people looking for moonshots. Coins that have launching platforms that spike and then need to liquidate to pay the launch platform and never recover from it. Coins that, for no reason at all have HUGE leaps in liquidity (whale trap). Coins that are the classic pump and dump rug pull. If you want to make money on this without playing the lottery? Try buying Blue chip coins with potential for growth. Or find projects that are just launching of their own merits without any help and slowly build up new CEX listings and DEXes. Yes these are slower. But still give way more gains than any bank would in interest that is for sure. If the capital raises enough it can do that x100-x1000 as soon as people notice the project. So look for low market caps. For me right now that is $GOLDEN inu with their project of a pay to earn videogame (alpha is available) and market place integration. Market cap 2 millions on ERC-20 and 1.5-2 million on BNB. As well as their now community project Baby Golden that gives pro-rata returns in $GOLDEN coins by taxing people that move in or out. Leading to some nice gains to be made over time whilst the main project picks up more traction.
Examples of these are $BABYSHIB or $GOLDEN inu, both still haging around in that sub 2 million market cap section.

Just have a predetermined exit strategy and adjust where required to new situations. For examples I just got pretty good gains off $GOLDEN inu where in the last 4 months the investment moved up 500%. Which is freakishly good gains but I also know there is still huge growth to come considering the trajectory of the project. So I device an exit strategy where I liquidate X when it hits Y and do not deviate from that concept ever. I have written it down. Then if it goes well I will liquidate A when it hits B and the last two tiers I rather not think about because I cannot comprehend that at this point. This I have done for any coin I am a long term holder in. Though Solana has been quite the wild card XD That didn't match exit strategies at all.

You also have $SHIB which is basically stuck by volume or investor block. Yet people keep pooring money into that stating the "product potential".. where really the development team is one of the worst performing in the market. Certain considering the amount of cash they have. Where other dog related project like $GOLDEN inu is making huge gains of 500% increase value on investment from just december 2023 alone, where it has got good project and a team rolling out new additions, apps and now adding a large CEX each month. But those stay on a relative low market cap because people are blindly staring at pump and dumps or non-value assets like Doge. Where the odds of being rugged (specially with $SHIB where majority of the holders is in deep red) is fairly high.

I invested in $GOLDEN inu... it launched on MERX yesterday leading to a total of 101% price increae over 30 days. With a 40% the month befor and a 30% the month before that. That is not alt coin season that is a project starting to move and getting access to a large audience through new CEX and increasing market cap and holder counts. So I differ from OP his opinion. These gains have nothing to do with BTC.

Doubled my money on $GOLDEN inu.. yes I like the tech, yes I like the game and Devapps. But as an investor I am in there for the money. This makes a good mix of holding and selling where people take profits but not bomb the project because the growth will continue. That is the example project you want to find between all the junk. Not saying you need this one, but there is good potential out there.
Laugh all you want the ERC20 GOLDEN INU doubled my money since december. That is more than BTC would have done.
In contuary to all those other meme coins and rug pulls there are actually a proper projects around. Those are lower risk and actual investments.
