Yep, paying attention to that community helps a lot. Sometimes there's events that are too big to ignore, and you can make bank. Take Doge for example, once things started getting really popular with Elon and all that BS, it was fairly clear that the FOMO was gonna bring the coin up in value... But you needed to be smart enough to know that everyone in their mother would be trying to capitalize off the SNL appearance, and the only ones who profited off that are the ones that new they had to sell before everyone else did. This meant selling an hour before SNL aired. Everyone else figured there would be a peak when he did his "dogefather" skit, but they were too late. The LRC craze last year was another good example. We all knew about the crazy fanboys on superstonk loved them some GME, so when rumors started creeping up about a GMC-LRC partnership, it was clear that people were going to go nuts. Once I had solid evidence that the GME thing actually had legs, it was easy to get in for a few grand and ride the wave.

>Sure, but that's part of a free market. Just because that's part of a free market doesn't mean it's good. Stocks are regulated for a reason. People that have enough influence can also manipulate the market. If Elon tweets he loves BTC prices go up. This means he can make a quick profit. If Elon a week later tweets he was wrong because it uses a lot of electricity the price falls again and he can buy in cheaper. People can collude and massively sell if Elon tweets he loves BTC to make him lose money but people shouldn't have to collude together to stop price manipulation. >The people decided to buy up GMC as a short squeeze on big money. The very 'regulators' that are here to protect you paused the markets and people couldn't buy GME, Who did this protect? That's not what happened at all. Regulators didn't pause the market. It was Robinhood that paused the buying of volatile stocks, GME included. Robinhood later had to explain to regulators why they prevented the retail market from buying GME. Get your facts right instead of spreading complete bullshit. >The difference with bitcoin is that there's less manipulation because no central authority has the power to manipulate the supply. There's actually more price manipulation in bitcoin than in regulated stocks. Again spreading bullshit. >In theory, it's simple to fight price manipulation. Just act rationally instead of emotionally. If I know it costs $10 to produce 100 oranges, and someone buys up all the oranges to sell it at less than $0.10, I can just buy up all the oranges! Just because you would buy when it's cheap doesn't mean other people won't panic sell. If this were true their wouldn't be any bear markets. And just because you can buy oranges for cheap when someone manipulates the price doesn't mean price manipulation is a good thing either.

Sure, but that's part of a free market. And before you tell me 'regulations solve this,' no, they really do not. If anything, it just gives **power to those who control the regulators.** Thanks to **regulations:** 1. The SEC/CFTC only allowed a bitcoin futures ETF, which is one of the most manipulable instruments on the market. 2. The SEC went after one of the best actors in the space, LBRY, meanwhile FTX founder is roaming around. 3. The people decided to buy up GMC as a short squeeze on big money. The very 'regulators' that are here to protect you paused the markets and people couldn't buy GME, Who did this protect? Where was the pause button when everyone is panic selling and crashed the stock markets? To give people a chance to think rationally? Where was the protection then? **The difference with bitcoin is that there's less manipulation because no central authority has the power to manipulate the supply.** As far as I know, no mass market is immune to price manipulation. In reality, it's simple to fight manipulation. Just act rationally instead of emotionally. If I know it costs $10 to produce 100 oranges, and someone buys up all the oranges to sell it at less than $0.10, I can just buy up all the oranges! This is only a problem when the regulators step in and tell me I can't buy up cheap oranges because they're trying to protect me. Meanwhile I'm welcome to buy 'futures on oranges' that expire at a fixed date and essentially worthless, because they're protecting me.

GMC AMC was not Banks but investment vehicles. Housing bubble was largely due to poor regulations and non bank institutions. Look at well regulated Canadian banks they swooped in and bought failing and poorly regulated banks in USA during GFC. Money launderers get caught and fined. More crucially they don't lead to an implosion of system when they are caught laundering. You lack basic understanding of financial system let alone appreciate the nuances.

this is something people here can't comprehend because they've had their nose in the books too long. no one in the real world cares about Algo or Cosmos or whatever ElonCumFartJizz coin is out there more or less than they care about the current stock prices like Apple or Tesla or GMC. ask an average person on the street what the price of IBM stock is. fact is, perspective is key. the average person doesnt even know ANY other coins other than bitcoin. at all. and even then they generally only hear weird or bad things about it. but doge? "oh yeah thats a funny little dog meme. my son showed me some of those pictures. i think its cute!" add onto the fact that doge has existed before as a meme, the currency itself is cheap and to people who dont know better thats a steal. would the average joe rather have 0.00002 bitcoins or 200 funny dog coins? any other overanalysis falls short and fails to understand common perception of the people outside of this extremely niche corner of the internet.

Post is by: II-o_o-II and the url/text [ ](https://goo.gl/GP6ppk)is: /r/CryptoCurrency/comments/sm6odc/if_cryptos_were_cars/ I don’t have any TA, predictions or news… frankly I don’t have anything smart to say at all. However I am very keen to hear your answers to this pressing question: if cryptocurrencies were cars, what car would they be? I’m neither a car expert nor a crypto expert so I’m out of my depth here, but I’ll get us started with a few suggestions. * Bitcoin: Ford Model T. The OG that made crypto available to the masses. * Ethereum: GMC Sierra. You can use it to move all kinds of stuff but what a goddamn gas guzzler * Solana: Toyota Solana is too obvious. I’m gonna say Porsche 997, because that’s what came up when I googled “least reliable fast car.” * Monero: maybe Dodge Stealth? Or the invisible boatmobile from SpongeBob * Loopring: I don’t know, what’s a car with solid fundamentals but an unhinged cult following? (Calm down Loopers, I’m a bag holder too) * Cardano: DMC DeLorean. Is it the crypto of the future or a dud? Is its creator a genius, a creepy weirdo or both? * Squid Game: Pontiac Fiero. Short-lived and prone to erupting into flames. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Start early in life. Don't spend money on all kinds of crap you don't really need. Been trying to teach my kids this. I told my son that is 19 what he should do and not do from my own life lessons. What did he do that I warned him not to do? Finance a vehicle. I have bought my 3 oldest kids (4 to go still) there first cars. The 19yo traded his in, financed a dang 2012 GMC Sierra. A $530 payment and only a 30 day warranty. What happened, the engine crapped out in less than 2 months. Because he is an excellent worker and keeps getting promotions and pay raises, I co-signed a loan for him to get the rest of the money he needed to swap the engine. He had a bonus coming in a few months and agreed to pay that loan off with it. He did. But co-signing is not something I ever planned in doing. One time is all....

tbh right now it looks like it's gearing up to be a nice P & D for someone(s). From what I've heard it's a good L2 option. So that means if defi gets adopted more, people will need to use them and the more useful (ease, lower fees, etc) the better. Is that correct? But i can't really understand why anyone even cares about the GMC partnership myth. GMC isn't really anything to bet on by a long shot as it is. And game partnership is shaky territory, not to mention the fact that this mythical partnership doesn't seem to materialize.

A sign of how bad banks hate crypto, all the more reason to use crypto and continue to DCA, so forth, gawd i hate the banks and gov waste so bad ... this pisses me off for you bud. I am CAD, 56, one spring-summer-fall (year = 1985-ish) when I was fresh out of high school. I landed a seasonal job, did well, stuck with it. All finished up just approaching xmas. One of the few times my Dad talked to me sober, a great memory. He said good job and so forth, then added, can you buy yourself a new car ? No!!!, (he knew I could not) he said that's inflation right there, Dad continues, when I was your age, I did exactly what you did out of highschool, worked those 3 seasons, stayed with it, we did about the same. Same hours, pay rate, etc ... Dad said, AND I quote here and saw his pictures of him and his car ... " I bought my first brand new car at the end of that season (1957 late fall) with cash, and had enough left over to get through the winter if he kept spending carefully, and got a girlfriend and had some fun (Dad was 20 yrs old, bought a 57 chevy brand new.)...he then said no way in hell you can do that, it will take you another year to save for down payment and then try to get approved for a loan?? If yes on loan which is unlikely -, then 5 years to pay off the car and it sure won't be a 56 chevy!!! That is a huge difference in only one generation. I was 19 or 20 and there is no fukin way I coudlve even thought about a new car, barely kept my piece of shit running to get to work, nor did I ever even think of a new car until he said that. I was 45 when I finally drove the one and only new vehicle off of a lot, new GMC pickup, and I regretted it badly. So, That is inflation perfectly demonstrated over 1 generation, 27 years between me and Dad in age. And we as i society are still are going to end up with a collapsed economy becuz of banks and gov and greed, extreme carelessness / because of banks, intentionally mismanaged our resources for their benefit. This was our resource, our cash system, "OUR = ALL OF US!/SOCIETY!". This fact is not common knowledge and people as a group accept this blatant theft, and this theft is openly called inflation.... ... we should be really damned angry ... but most don't know nor appreciate the fuckery done, and it is a tough truth and one that hurts!!! Try to spread that news and information is like handing out free syphilis .. COME GET YOUR FREE SYPHILIS< SYPHILIS HERE - FREE!!! nobody wants that !!! Anyway, I say , do not burn down our cities, simply use crypto as much as you can for tiny things at first, let ppl get used to it, make it known and common, ease into it so the system doesn't collapse overnight. take the money out of gov and banks and put it back in our hands ... that is the very last thing those mofo banks and politicians would want. that's is the worst thing we could do to them, make it so all that money they stole and tricked away from us, is worth fuck all, just like they made it. stop filing / paying taxes and sending in accurate tax docs, don't carry identification, barter with neighbors, we can kill them banks and power hungry assholes pretty quick,I bet quicker than the 27 yrs of time when they pulled the inflationary switcheroo on me and my Dad. Sry this is so long. I am fukin pissed, this ain't the first guy the banks done this to, and if my bank did that ..... holy shit I would be so furious. huh - there's some loud assshole fekin knocking pounding at my door, they yelling police something, something .. hang o 'oi'vboinbif'afnb bjLJKBN p;m cvfgfh544545gggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggbvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvffffffffffffffffffffffffffvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv hhhhhh nnnnnn bbbbb

Firstly, GME/AMC are **centralized**. They are companies run by a small board and chief executives. Both companies have diluted the living daylights out of shareholders, both played bond games, and the supply/demand dynamics have been rekt. Secondly, they are **centralized** twice over within a legal framework of the SEC, FINRA, and are also at the mercy of Central Bank decisions. There are so many rules governing them that they need a full suite of lawyers and accountants to produce a simple 10-k. So they're not actually free markets. Lastly, and maybe controversially, I don't believe there are any naked GME/AMC shorts, viewing that instead as more of a YouTube narrative. What I also believe is that back in the meme enlightenment period of January this year, GMC/AMC had tiny market capitalizations under $1B. This made them extremely easy for hedge funds (and prime brokerages who are the main shorts), to manipulate them at will with modest capital allocation. Then the memesters showed up and blew them up. They doubled down, thinking it was a one-off, their data models models forecasting an easy payday, and memesters blew them up again. Bitcoin on the other hand is decentralized and truly free market. It's traded 24/7 across the world with zero intervention. It's up to arbitrage traders to keep the price on one exchange close to the price on another exchange. Its supply dynamics are set in stone and 100% predictable (new block every 10 minutes on average and halving every 4 years). The larger its mkt cap gets, the less control any group can exert on it. When it takes out gold's mkt cap, it gets beyond the ability of even nation states to control because they don't have the trillions required to buy significant amounts, because if they try, the price starts rising, doubling, tripling, they have to print more and more, and that's before antagonistic game theory comes into play of other actors looking to exploit this. Bitcoin exists purely as electronic data, anyone trying go naked short in the spot market would ensure a messy destruction. Bitcoin longterm follows its supply and demand, and in some telling stock to flow. Look at the chart and how that has played out for 13 years. Lastly I'll add AMC/GME are new phenomena, they only came into our consciousness 10 months ago. If they weren't centralized, hadn't been diluted, RobinHooded, and traded 24/7 globally with 13 years worth of accumulation by apes like Bitcoin has, then yes, even the post lofty price targets might be a reality. They get away with the paper game on manipulating gold, because the US government alone owns 8133 tons of gold. That's 97% of all the gold in the country. Most other countries are close to which is every government

>LRC’s tech is good but it still has a long way to go as a long-term bet at its current price. I don't know if it's the *long term* bet aspect that people are considering here. If these WSB-type tards end up bringing that tremendous retail activity vibe to LRC though (a notable market force as evinced by the AMC and GMC drama), there could be some not insignificant price action. I suspect it's this that is driving a lot of sudden "interest" for LRC on these forums and elsewhere.

It's not theft if it's a gift, so take my words and disseminate and/or tweak as you wish. The bit about loans is definitely on my radar right now too. I have a leased GMC with one year remaining and I initially rolled my eyes when I saw the purchase price written into my lease and I was planning on just trading it in for something else when they called asking if I wanted a new lease. Post-Covid, they don't make those calls due to inventory issues and this means it's definitely the prudent financial decision for me to take a loan and buy my car. Not only is the 2019 price much lower than it would be if they drew it up now, I'll get a super low rate and inflation will make it cheaper in the next couple years in terms of value. I also think that supply issues impacting housing connects directly to my eli5. I'm in my late 30's and the vast majority of my friends have both parents living. This was not the case for Boomers in the early 80's as medicine and lifestyle choices for their parents weren't exactly conducive to living independently into their 80's. The supply crunch is essentially compounded beyond normal population growth because older people are not only living longer, they're not relinquishing their single-family homes at a rate which would help millennials own their own places. Couple that with the fact that most places where people want to own homes have been built up for over a generation now and you have a special mix of insanity in the real estate market. Kudos to you for offering some intelligent conversation here as well. Half the time I'm being hit with anger and incredulity for having the audacity of stating something that doesn't perpetuate the echo chamber. One person called me a "typical Reddit crypto Chad" for saying I didn't want to bother researching a coin whose premise was a non-starter for me. Wtf is a crypto Chad?

It is truly frightening how many people who make not very much money are hedging their bets on something like crypto or GMC/AMC/what have you. Hoping that you cash out big with something like crypto is gambling, plain and simple. It’s the same mentality that people who work their whole lives for peanuts have with lottery tickets. Even if these people do happen upon the next big thing in the market, they’re not going to see life changing gains with the few hundred or few thousand they’re scraping together $20 at a time. Even if they see 2500% gain on their coin with $2000 invested they’re only going to make less than $50k. And that’s an insane gain. It’s completely unexpected. People need to be realistic about what these things are and do. It worries me because people hinging their entire hopes and dreams on the unrealistic possibility of becoming a millionaire overnight through crypto may face severe disappointment when it doesn’t occur. It smacks of get rich quick, get fit quick, lose weight fast type of scheme. There’s no shortcut.

I wonder if he can increase the battery size on the Plaid? He supposedly decided not to do a bigger battery because the added range wouldn't be necessary since it's impossible to go further than that "without having to stop for at least the bathroom." Wow, the lazy bias of a guy who flies on petrol jets dreaming of petrol rockets all day! He forgot that in the vastness that is "land," there are often huge desolate stretches with no gas, no cell service, and no fancy charging stations. What's more? Half the population can pee in a bottle or pull off the road for a quick tinkle, and maybe doesn't want to have to do the whole 9 every pee stop. But he figured out what's best for us with the venerable Plaid -- probably tweeted it from the toilet on one of his jets. The GMC Hummer and Rivian truck look STUNNING btw. Its just too much of a slippery slope.. When it harms hedge funds or when its a meme that clown the precious Thailand elite then it immediately illegal right.. Thats some bullshit. https://www.reviewjournal.com/business/20-things-more-likely-to-happen-to-you-than-winning-the-lottery/

I personally don't feel that bad for anyone burned by these meme-type investments (Dogecoin, various moon coins, GMC, AMC, Etc.). It's an extremely high risk, possibly high reward situation and everyone should know that before investing. However, I wouldn't say that Dogecoin has truly crashed yet. I wouldn't be surprised if prices drop to \~$0.05.

How else will people get others to adopt to crypto? I don't understand this type of thinking. It's no different than saying you own a certain stocks (for example: rooting for it) and there has been a lot of those on social media - especially AMC and GMC. Millenials and Gen Z are even posting about dogecoin on TikTok and Instagram, and that is why DOGE pumped so hard. People were united. With all these posts telling people not to ever talk about cryptocurrency is no different than saying "don't ever talk about business/money". The more talk, the better, because eventually the world will adapt to it. It's no different than saying "I own 1000 satoshis - I own $10"

If you believe in BTC long term, and understand what BTC is, the short term price shouldn’t matter. BTC ain’t GMC... If a 50-80% short term BTC dip upsets you, or affects your mental state in any way, you shouldn’t own any BTC.

People are just pulling out of crypto to invest in GMC AMC SPCE. They'll be back unless they jump on silver next.

IIRC, this bullrun started when the whole GMC thing was fading. Now that AMC is having a run, I'm wondering if it would have the same affect when that fades.

I stopped reading WSB months ago. I can't believe they are still talking about GMC and AMC squeeze, and now talking about more conspiracy theories on why the squeeze is right around the corner. It already happened when it hit \~$500. Connecting a bunch of 'data' together isn't research it's literally how conspiracies' are started Yes there are problems with short sales, and fails to deliver and 100 other things in the regular market. This isn't new, overstock happened back in 2005 and the entire market hasn't melted down. People saying oh the DTCC has 60 trillion in insurance which means when all the hedge funds fail that will get redistributed to GME holders are living in a very scary fantasy land. The US government itself can't come up with 60 trillion at the drop of a hat let along a private company.

well, sounds believable. the fact that "whales" were caught offguard on that GMC. its just, Binance(BNB) doesn't have todo with money laundering as it is just a platform to trade. And that's is crypto for you. you wont ever know if that crypto is laundered or not. decentralization.

There are many valid criticisms of Cardano, for sure! And I understand why so many people hate on them. If they can deliver the road map, there will be competitive advantages. Smart contracts in any programming language to bring in new developers to blockchain, KEVM ERC20 token conversion to entice solidity devs, Marlowe Playground to expand smart contract adoption to non-technical business settings. I also like their decentralized funding mechanism and their model for on-chain governance. (Please counter any of these points - I would like to know my blind spots). Cardano is lagging when you look at the last 10 years, but blockchain is still in its infancy and I doubt that any current players have too big of an advantage over the others. Honda came along 45 years after Ford, and they are doing okay (same with GMC, Toyota, Nissan, Kia, all the others). Apples and oranges, but you get what I'm trying to say. As an ADA holder (I also hold eth, dot, agi, btc, others), it can make me restless seeing how slow the project is crawling. But I also appreciate that IOHK is taking their time, staying true to their long term vision. I have watched pretty closely, and I've seen enough to bet on the project. Or maybe it'll flop! Only time will tell. 🤙🤙🤷‍♂️

No, because those Business actually had a good strategy to get back in the game. Criptos dont have that. In case of GMC they had an intrinsic value that got activated by the money behind the stock values. Criptos only really have the value of the marked so getting gain is imposible without taking it from someone else (study how pump and dump works and how they are a scam and actually ilegal in some places) . Also what WSBets did is take advantage of an oportunistic leverage against the big bull that where betting for those buisneses to die. And those buisneses only needed a hand in the shoulder to get back in the game, and they kinda did. In AMC case it doesn't look too good, because, well it's a cinema theatre; a crowded buisness in the middle of a pandemic, so it's unlikely for it to come back up in the close term.

First off, Tesla is not in the crypto markets at all. So which market are you talking about? Both are substantially different in how they operate. Ford is an electric vehicle maker. So are Toyota, Honda, GMC, and I'm sure there are others. Sure Tesla is the only exclusively electric player but that doesn't mean Tesla is competing with whatever tiny EV car maker you are talking about. Tesla is competing with the big boys, and if Tesla fails you better believe none of those other guys will because of it. You're argument really isn't that thought out at all. It seems like you are the one whole doesn't understand markets. Give me another example.

It's because of RobinHood. When the GMC news hit mainstream, I got the app and started paying attention to stocks for the first time. That was totally frustrating and I didn't make any money. But Doge was a nickel and crypto is the future so in we go! Got better apps, read this sub a ton, sold my Doge for a loss and bought our favorites. I'm happy for Doge... Unless it passes VET. Now when it drops I'm ready to buy it again just for nostalgia and fomo.

Im feeling #Pitbulish today, everyday. The token has a great community and solid team. We are already growing so much in spite of waiting on: 1. WhiteBIT to list: Integration in progress 2. CMC and GMC: submitted application, waiting. 3. New Marketing campaigns 4. Applied to new exchanges With all of that in mind, we going to the moon baby!!

Younger people are also more saddled with debt, and less likely to be able to afford a Tesla. You can get a new chevy for well under $20k, so i could see it panning out. With GM owning Chevy, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac, that could open the doors for a lot more actual adoption.

You are conceptually correct, but off on the scale of adoption. Bitcoin does not need to a consumer item. It's not designed to hold value for the guy paying 21% on his Wells Fargo VISA and driving to his service job in a leased GMC Tahoe. It's not going to be used by 50% of the worlds population. This is a fact. Understand 90% of people live paycheck to paycheck regardless of income. You need spiritual discernment and disciple to save capital. Savings means you are foregoing present consumption for future consumption. The average consumer wants his food delivered within 30 minutes, a steady 5 bars on his phone, and access to anything 24 hours a day. Bitcoin will reach $3 million per coin because every small to medium sized business on the planet in 6 months will realize the Reserve Currency of the world (US dollar) is going to be destroyed during the next COVID stimulus in December 2021. The large Fortune 500 CFO'S are now just beginning to exit cash to Bitcoin. And by the end of the year most of the business balance sheets around the world will cut their cash holding by 50% in order to escape fiat destruction. The avalanche of cash off the book is going one place to save its purchasing power. Bitcoin.
