If it shows a downtrend you re-evaluate. It's predictions based on recognised patterns and support resistance lines, nothing is guaranteed with TA man. If you traded off of HH and HL vs LH and LL only you'd do pretty well in this market. Don't discount it. A basic understanding of TA would help everyone here tbh. Unfortunately TA is usually scoffed at because most ppl here are new and it does sound like magic to them. This mindset is generally encouraged here by everyone. It's not an exact science but a great aid into understanding why btc and the market does what it does.
You seem to be confused between the terms "open source" and "viewable by all". Open source means both that the code is viewable by everyone AND that it can be forked without the original author's permission. HH can not be forked but it is viewable by anyone which is exactly what I said. Yes, I do know why decentralization is important.

Break under 48k on SOW would make me look for sell opportunity But as long as it doesn't do that, I am aiming at 55k and 58k if. After that in May and June price we saw a absorption of supply at the retest of 30. I originally started buying BTC back in August of 2015 when it was $200. I watched its' slow increase through the end of '15 and into '16, then lived in a constant state of euphoria in 2017 never having taken even a dime off the table. This time I won't be so naive in my approach and I'm also very curious to hear when others are planning to take profit, how much in terms of your portfolio %, and when you purchased that position. Personally, as of this moment i'm thinking: 5% sold at $50k (pays off student loans) 35% at $100k (pays off the house) 35% at $200K (profit grab and create cash position for a buy back after the next bear market) I'll let the remaining 20% ride on for the long term. Happy for input/critiques on this (or I wouldn't have posted to reddit lol) but also curious what others' plans are. My strategy, if able to complete will completely rid me and my family (37m/31f & 8 month old) of any debt, rendering us financially independent with a HH income of nearly $200k. No lambos, no bullshit consumerism. Just been playing a financially conservative long game with BTC while maxing out 401k's & IRA's along the way. Try wayback machine, Jan 9th 2018 for example [here] (https://web.archive.org/web/20180109030118/https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/) I find wayback machine's UI pretty clunky so I like to instead just edit the url to a specific date. Ex. above url has 20180109030118 (YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS), assuming its a url with regular snapshots like this one is, since there are snapshots almost every day in this case. You should be able to just input the YYYYMMDD part and it will automatically fill the hours minutes seconds part with the first one available from that day. Also if you click a url in the wayback machine it wont redirect properly, when it opens just delete everything before the 'https://www.reddit...' part and it will open the actual reddit page
Downvotes incoming, but I agree. Decided on hbar 1.5 yrs ago, happy with current return, but still hodling. More daily transactions than top 10 combined, over 1b transactions in first 2 years, CBDC's incoming... having said all of that, I'm happy that Hedera doesn't market like every other project. It keeps price low while I fill my moon bag, and is also an indicator of a smart business strategy. No hype, no pump and dump, No obnoxious YouTubers. Frankly, HH's lack of overt profile (and underlying stats) is what influenced me to buy.

The thing with HH and algo is, everyone outside of the crypto sphere has never heard of them. A small percentage of the world population knows anything about crypto besides the word bitcoin lol. If a big brand company, (like google) incorporates HH into something like stadia, the number of people that have heard of it increases by a lot, over the amount of people who have heard of any other crypto. Not a big percentage of people invest, and an even smaller percentage of people invest in crypto. Any way to get the name out there to the masses is a long term win.

"exponential gains". I think that's a bit unfair. Personally, I would rather have good (but nonexponential) gains in a solid project. I can't speak for HH (obiously), but my guess is that they are not concerned about making us rich. They want their project to succeed.
In the grand scheme of things, I think your question is at least as valid as any other question. But there is a slight philosophical problem I have with considering it. The best use of capital is not a decision for me to make, it's up to the market. All the people locking up capital to secure the network have concluded that it's an efficient use of resources and then the cost of an attack is directly proportional to that amount. If staking is not worth it, fewer people will do it and the system will release capital. It does not matter what I think is efficient, the market decides. For example, Ethereum. Your concept sounds like it follows from the idea of "locking up" stake, rendering it inert. But Eth stakers are gaining interest on the locked stake, this is something they've chosen to do in order to profit themselves. So is this waste? Is this inefficient? It's worth noting also that "locking up" capital to enable PoS is not an argument against PoS in itself, as PoS does not necessarily require "locking up" anything, that's just an implementation detail. For this you can look at Hedera Hashgraph. HH requires no "locking" - anyone who has a balance in their wallet will automatically be proxy staking to reach PoS consensus.
