I’m a longtime ICX holder. I don’t tune in that much to timelines and promised released dates. As a developer, I know the stress between wanting to maintain community momentum but needing time to release hardened software. It’s hard. But I’ve been really enjoying the development happening in their DAPP ecosystem. I used Balanced and OMM a lot. The Craft NFT marketplace is great, too. Project Nebula and GangstaBet were fun additions to the ecosystem. ICE token is an eth-compatible layer that’s being developed on the ICX network. A snapshot took place late December for a 1:1 airdrop of ICE tokens. There have been a lot more developments than the ones I briefly highlighted. Basically, they haven’t reneged on any of their promises besides the timing of their releases. But after the fiasco in 2017-2018 they have been much more cautious about releasing fixed ETAs. All the features they promised have been developed or are still being developed. They even recently migrated to V2.0 of their network, which uses Java instead of Python for lower latency and more secure development process. I’m very optimistic for their longterm future and will continue to keep holding.

Great. I agreed. So far I used ICON and dapps such as Balanced, OMM, and find it smooth and fast. I've not used Algo before. Once the BTP is up, I would move some asset from Icon over to Algorand, to test out their Defi.
Icon/ICX has some great DeFi DAOs in Balanced (ICX backed stable and DEX), OMM (money market), and Optimus (yield optimizer).
Let’s not forget that Optimus will be live on ICON in a few weeks, optimizing the yield from Balanced (and later OMM). These are very exciting times for ICON. ICX/BALN/OMM/FIN should gain traction any day now.
I think its a hidden gem among Alts. It's BTP solution for interoperability will be live in only a few weeks. Allowing for one connection to create trustless bridges for every network connected. Kind of like a single hub allowing for cross-chain communication. Already 9 networks have been announced and should be integrated with BTTP on Day 0 ($BSC, among others), and several others are in the works but not announced yet. DeFi on $ICX is mostly Silo'd at the moment as well so can get over 40% returns on stablecoin deposits to $OMM, and the DEx on ICX (Balanced, $BALN) pays stakers of the governance token daily with a share of the fees from all transactions on the platform. Returns estimated \~40% as well. I think its a steal to own the governance token for it as once BTP is live, the amount of assets listed on Balanced will skyrocket as it will be at the center of all bridges to all chains connected to BTP. Its definitely a nice hidden gem for both DeFi and the launch of its interoperability solution, I think it will be big, but is currently flying under the radar.

For me the hidden gems ICX and NEO. Very exiting things happening for these coins. Nice defi tools for ICX such as Balanced, OMM and upcoming Optimus. Also rollout of BTP, interoperability with other chains. For NEO, you would be before the big adoption of N3 and Flamingo defi.
We got more dapps on $ICX. To name a couple we have a really user friendly defi platform Balanced and money market dapp OMM. There having some huge upgrades in the coming weeks. Next week they’ll upgrade to Icon 2.0 and be a Java based blockchain with Java scores for their smart contracts to ensure integrity of the code. They also have and are the first trustless link to resolve interoperability between blockchains. They’ve already partnered with BSC, ONE, NEAR and Polkadot. This protocol is call BTP. They also have a 1:1 airdrop for their EVM compatible side chain ICE that is coming out. This will bring ETH developers over and ease to write dapps on this blockchain.
