I've never bought or read a WIRE magazine, but judging from the title and figuring it's a technology magazine, I thought they would of been positive on new technologies, especially Bitcoin. 😕

Mark bear, the machine can’t be turned on because I DONT HAVE THE RiGHT WIRE. I am aware it’s dangerous which is why I am asking for advice. All you’re adding to this conversation is fear. Do you have any recommendations, oh cautious one, where I can find an alternative, suitable for UK plugs?

Yup. I work on the back end of these transactions - all the escrow emails have "CONFIRM WIRE INSTRUCTIONS OVER THE PHONE BEFORE SENDING ANY FUNDS" or some such in a bright colored font 😂

If I speak about something then I speak out that sentence with facts. Yeah you're correct that the IP was leaked and it pointed to their servers in Iceland. But when did the admin logged in from? From an IP which belonged to a VPN company and to find out who was actually connecting to it is where FBI came in and compromised the VPN company too which linked to the cafe in San Francisco. If you still not belive me then here are some resources and I guess you haven't even read the American Kingpin, so yeah you're unaware. Here are some articles, and I guess journalists are more qualified to find out evidences than me. [Article 1](https://www.engadget.com/2015-02-08-silk-road-trial-lessons.html) [Offical Article Of Wire](https://www.wired.com/2015/05/silk-road-2/) "Ulbricht did use a VPN to hide his location, but the FBI subpoenaed the provider of the VPN too. It all led them to an internet cafe in San Francisco and, eventually, to Ulbricht himself, who was arrested in a library in the city's Glen Park neighborhood." [WIRE article](https://www.wired.com/2015/05/silk-road-2/) "One of those connections was to an IP address that was the last known login to the Silk Road VPN. Next to it Tarbell drew a question mark. A subpoena revealed the IP’s physical location: Café Luna, Sacramento Street, San Francisco" [Article 3](https://www.comparitech.com/blog/vpn-privacy/staying-anonymous-online-silk-road-founder-mistakes/) "They used the server’s ssh config to find the VPN server Ulbricht was logging in from and the VPN server’s last login record of IP addresses to locate a cafe near his home. " Next time, do some research sir.

Actually visa transactions take months to settle. But we still transact with them everyday without thinking. It doesn’t make sense to transact on the base layer of a currency system; but on the layer 2-3. You wouldn’t transact with FED-WIRE, or SWIFT, but you would with Visa.

I just had a quick look and it appears that there is a $5000 limit on personal accounts for US customers using ACH (whatever that is) - if you're sending £5000 then it's *possible* it tripped their limit. [https://support.gemini.com/hc/en-us/articles/209113906-What-are-the-transfer-limits-](https://support.gemini.com/hc/en-us/articles/209113906-What-are-the-transfer-limits-) That said, the page also says this about wire transfers, which I would assume is what your transfer is classed as: ***WIRE TRANSFERS***  *There are* ***no limits*** *on deposits for Individual or Institutional Accounts. There is a wire withdrawal minimum of $100.*
