Im an absolute data hoarder. I have 100tb in hdd storage. Spotify is my only subscription. Ive tried the other platforms too, and honestly, nothing else conpares to the ease of finding new music on Spotify. It’ll go cold for a while, same shit on repeat. Then I explore down a new avenue and BAM - gold again. Even with tools like Lidarr and private music trackers its also simply impossible to correctly categorise, tag and store for easy access a vast electronic music collection. If youre somebody who listens primarily to albums, thats all good - easily managed. But when youre all over the place with mixed artist ep’s featuring reworks of remixes on multi artist collaborations, there’s just nothing that can manage the industrial scale my insatiable lust for a constant feed of new bangers requires. I got the email today, and Im still cancelling my latest Deezer Pro attempt and sticking with Spotify. Qualitys fucking garbage too, but gotta feed the beast somehow.

Yup, I had like 15k$ to invest last year, I started at $1k a month leaving the rest of the cash in the brokerage account losing a bit of interest, well the first two months I started regretting because it was working well then BAM -6% the third month, I was happy to continue, now it's back up +6%, but it's probably gonna die again, I dont care, I just continue with fresh money calmly. Ofc it doesn't change much financially, and is probably counterproductive mathematically (I did lost months of interest for instance), but I sleep at night.

I love AAPL however they lack innovation. They hype their phones up as if they’ll be from the year 2125 and BAM! An extra camera lense… then another.. Their AI conference will be a bust. Talk it up like they’ll be doing something that we couldn’t imagine in our wildest dreams and we’ll find out they gave Siri a lisp and the phone programming improved. I still think AAPL will grow of course. I just don’t think AAPL will take off like other AI stonks.

I watch them but am a little confused about why they keep issuing shares. All seem extremely profitable but keep diluting shareholders. I understand they issue dividends as the primary way of returning capital to shareholders -- but would like them to at least keep the share count steady. TPG is another one. Also BN although you already have BAM. All have done really well, especially KKR since the time you mentioned. Still, I trust Berkshire (and Markel to a lesser extent) for my exposure to financials.

Anyone else buy the PE firms such as KKR, APO, BX, CG and BAM in late 2022 or 2023 while the discussion around the stocks was about redemption rates and people were running for the hills trying to get their money out? Bought KKR glad I did. APO got a rare thread today on this sub as it bid on PARA.

At least in my experience, ChatGPT has nearly replaced Google. I find it far easier querying an "AI" for the information I'm looking for rather than sifting through a dozen websites that MIGHT have my answer. I go to Google if I need current, up to date information, since GPT's knowledge base lags behind a handful of months. Here are some of the things I have used it for specifically: 1. As others have said before me: lite programming. My programming is nowhere near a master level, nor do I have the time or desire to get it there. I tell the chat bot what I need the code to do, (python, SQL, excel, DAX, etc), and it always gives me a 90% solution instantaneously. Gone are the days of fruitlessly going to a forum full of experts all saying "wE'rE nOt GoInG tO sPoOnFeEd YoU, lEaRn AnD wRiTe ThE cOdE YoUrSeLf". It has done wonders for my workload and I've impressed my boss on numerous occasions with it. 2. Learning. It's a great teacher! From personal finance, lawn care, house hunting, investing, taxes, legal issues, cooking, hobbies etc, etc. I could go on and on. It's wonderful that I can ask the bot what I need to know and have a dynamic & fluid conversation with it - and just like my first use case, I receive this knowledge at will & instantaneously. 3. Professional writing. Tell it to write a resume, legal letter, professional email, whatever. It provides a 90% solution that you can tailor with, or without, the "AI " with as much detail as you need. This helped me a ton when I needed to provide a professional written response to my ex-property manager over a deposit dispute. 4. I don't use it for this that much, but: creative ideas. This will sound really nerdy, but I always want to come up with a cool sounding name for my characters in video games; I usual struggle with this and spend 10-15 minutes googling & thinking of a cool name. Now I just ask the chat bot to provide a list of 25 names based around whatever theme I'm thinking and BAM, I've got a name in about a minute. Also very nerdy: it's cool that I can have a conversation with it to learn more about the lore behind whatever game/movie I'm playing/watching. Not so nerdy: I've used it brainstorm ideas for a small business, but that was kinda hit or miss. Outside of my personal experience and focusing more on commercial use cases, I can see businesses leveraging this tech to improve: customer service, tech support, supply chain optimization, inventory management, financial fraud detection, medical diagnoses, education, and generally just helping with day to day trivial, administrative tasks that do not directly contribute to a business's final product, (who needs "administrative assistants" when GPT exists?). I could go on and on, but these are the primary reasons why I am personally bullish on "AI".

Options can be tricky, I have been burned on deep ITM NDX options (European) 1. DEEEEEEP ITM Iron Fly around 1.5-2 Standard deviation. 2. 21+ DTE 3. 1 long leg is further dated 4. Set limit for max credit, meaning the credit covers the entire width 5. I started with < $20 in account, got lucky and opened a few that had BETTER then max, so I was positive $1000+. 6. Started rolling legs to collect more premium, always laddering so my longs protected the shorts. 7. So far everything sounds peachy and it was like using cheat code to print money... 8. I did a huge net-credit roll... then BAM! my account went negative a few million in buying power... moments later I see scrolling notifications of my broker making and canceling limit orders in rapid bursts... until within a minute they said fuck it and did a market order. I ended up owing around 30k with my "free" positions. 9. Lessons learned 1. free is free until it isn't. 2. The AM settlement of the long did not protect the PM settled shorts when so far ITM 3. trade confirmation showed a net buying power gain, but after it went through some backend code dealing with regulation requirements on deep ITM options kicked in. 4. The broker will shit themselves when an account starts a day with $20 buying power and ends up with a multi-million "unhedged" risk and will smash the market-order button until it breaks to clear the risk. 5. You signed an agreement when you opened your account saying you will not sue the broker and are fine losing everything. (you did... go read the fineprint) I am thankful I didn't ramp up my positions, I was about to do just that, I would have been the next Ironyman.

Yes, that's been my struggle for the past few years. The current market, our entire world economy in fact (especially here in the US) is a cataclysmic disaster in the making. Being realistic when viewing today's market, or having a logical mindset, is presently a fool's mentality. And it equally annoys and vexes me. My strategy the past few years has to invest here/there, where I see *shimmer-flicker* opportunities for quick gains, but for the most part sit patiently until the market takes another huge dive. The problem is.... When? Will that hit be this year? 2 years? 5? 10? I don't want to wait five years; I want the crash to be tomorrow. But why would it be? What will tank this market? There's been no threat or instability to the market since the dawn of the UK/Russian war, and that small roadblock was a predictable kneejerk reaction anyway. It's tough. Buy in now? You kidding me? At these prices? It has to come down, right? Wrong?.... There's been so much dumb money made in the market since Covid, I don't even know if money has any value anymore. But at the same time, is all that dumb money reinvested? I doubt it. And until it is, the market will climb unless there emerges from the deep dark gloom that doesn't exist an antagonist dreadsome enough to tank it. But who knows, right? That's how this game goes. You never know until it happens, and while it's happening you still don't really know. It's all hindsight observation and analysis that can never be replicated in the future. On the subject of regret, I had purchased Nvidia and Microsoft both at their lows on March 16th 2020, when Covid had tanked the market to its bottom. I picked up Nvidia around 180, near its lowest point in ages .... which I proceeded to day trade away for a measly few thousand dollar gain. My plan at the time, logically, or so I thought, was to day trade during the wild market fluctuations I was certain would occur late into 2020 as Covid pervaded the mentality of the world. I'd plan to buy it back up quickly. Problem? BAM! Market blew up like no one expected in the months following the Covid Collapse, and Nvidia rocketed higher, higher, higher... I didn't want to buy back in at those prices, \***knowing**\* it would go down again, right? Wrong! It never went down; never has since. I've held Microsoft throughout that entire same period, which I'm up 150% on since, but Nvidia?.... That would have made me at least a cool $million. Nvidia was my day trade of choice to recover some of my Jan-March 2020 Covid losses, planning all along to buy back in permanently when the market looked to settle, but that huge NASDAQ spike no one expected following March 2020 collapse and the bubble thereafter (followed by Gamestop and all that noise in 2021)... How do you know? That's today's market! Illogical as hell. It's why so few people who are not already wealthy struggle to make fortunes themselves, I guess. What can you but keep playing? Especially when the dollar loses value daily and inflation is making whatever dollars you do have worth nickels and soon to be pennies.

Disclaimer: I hold shares in BAM (Brookfield Asset Management, the recent spinoff of Brookfield Corporation), and BN (Brookfield Corporation). This isn't financial advice. [Brookfield Corporation](https://bn.brookfield.com/) is a Canadian corporation that works in asset and business management, property management, with a mix of green energy transition investment and infrastructure focus. They intend to make purchases with the intention of turning those purchases profitable, and hold them long term. Consider them the Canadian BlackRock or Vanguard; they currently manage over [900 billion in assets](https://www.brookfield.com/about-us/who-we-are#:~:text=With%20over%20%24900%20billion%20in,communities%20in%20which%20we%20operate.). They have a good leadership team, in my opinion, and BAM has performed quite well since it has spun off. BN, meanwhile, I believe is undervalued, but has some potential exposure to a downturn to a falling office rental market.

That’s what I do, and my fiancée can’t even knock my hustle since she’s really into girls herself and knows that if she shares with me, I would never have any reason to be tempted to leave. Apple has enabled an entire class of business with their tech. What other company can just casually enter the X86 world and completely dominate it? Low power chips with high processing capabilities? As soon as they announced the M1 line I knew from BACK THEN “yup that confirms they’re doing VR based on the chip design and focus on image processing since Ax iPhone chips”. Everyone else can do shit first, but I trust Apple will do it RIGHT. I don’t give two fucks about any other stock quite like Apple, with maybe AMD as the exception (got my pops in on AMD 20k shares since they were $14 and he only sold 1k last Christmas to do solar). Apple is the GOAT and if Apple is sinking share wise anything more than knee jerk reactions to people doubting their next products? You bet it’s WWIII. That’s my Apple rant, thank you based Tim Apple.

NVDA's revenue was _shrinking_ in 2020, down to $10.92 billion from $11.72B. Then suddenly BAM, free money begins, money printer fires up, QE unlimited let's go baby. NVDA total revenue up 53% YoY to $16.68B in 2021. Free money continues unabated through March 2022, well would you look at that! NVDA total revenue up 61% YoY to $26.91B in 2022 HOLY MOLY we got some innovation on our hands here! Hmm, this is weird though, total revenue was up... a mere 0.23% YoY to $26.97B in 2023? So odd, hmm, how could this have happened, I wonder what changed? Oh that's right, money stopped being completely free the previous March! Now it's quite expensive to throw it away frivolously. But hey, NVIDIA AND AI ARE BFFS AMIRITE?! So the stock decouples from reality again last summer and forms another bubble. NVIDIA HIRING SPREE LET'S GOOOO GET HYPE! NVDA is just the next TSLA. Hype. Delusion. No supporting fundamentals for the valuation or forward P/E. It will come back to reality just like TSLA will. Earnings for a slew of tech companies are coming out next week. Let's see how everyone does. Next earnings call for Nvidia is February 28th. Let's check in at that point, then we can discuss what happens after March comes and goes for the remainder of the year. !remindme 5 weeks

I don't get "have become". I said years ago that one of the reasons the government/Fed wanted to keep interest rates artificially low was that it made interest payments on our debt MUCH more palatable. But one of the few weapons the Fed has to tame inflation is raising interest rates so they did and.. BAM... now SUDDENLY the interest payments are a problem. Not to mention the artificially low interest were mainly used for stock buybacks and making rich people even richer with little benefit to those really hurt in 2008.

A lot of them are moving to electric only because it is far easier to engineer than making a solid hybrid - which most of them should have been doing. Notice the leader in reliable cars, Toyota, didn't jump head-first into EV's. They very, very easily could have put Tesla out of business with as much EV experience they had by already having battery-powered cars. All it would have taken was to simply the hybrids to be electrical only. Larger batteries, different electrical motors, and BAM, they would have had the market if it was worth having. Those of us who use their cars - their hybrids - don't want charging down-times. We don't appreciate ranges under 400 miles. And we appreciate cars that have good chances of making it past 300,000 miles without major work. California is an entity all to itself with its own pollution problems based on its terrain and mountains. Most of the rest of the USA really doesn't have a smog problem, and aren't inclined to keep killing it on saving the environment when nobody - just fucking nobody - is trying to make China, Russia, or Asia in general stop polluting at massive levels while they are allowed to keep selling the rest of the world cheap things.

I love earnings, I have a high win percentage if you go through my post history. I always check the calendar a few weeks before the season starts, and during the season. I was antsy to make an earnings play, and researched this weeks companies (only like 12 of them so easy to do a quick spot check). I had never heard of $CALM before then, but did a quick google and saw they were the largest egg producer in NA, and then correlated that to low prices recently. Then I did some investigative research into the USDA price reports and saw light demand and soft prices. Realizing that $CALM was priced at ridiculous value compared to their revenue drop after the egg-flation of 2023 I saw a great short play. and BAM!

I used to smoke weed every single day of my life since I was twelve (Very Stupid I know). Basically lived smoking weed and it became a huge part of my life. Hell, I've have been smoking weed for so long it used to be called "Red Hair" back in the day which was bricked up Mexican weed full of seeds and stems, WAY before indoor became the norm. I remember when indoor first starting to hit the scene when you were lucky enough to have a friend or a friend of a friend that came down from Humbolt or BC Canada and that was back in the 90's. The Big Bud strain was killing it as the greatest shit to hit the street since sliced breed (Cannabis Cup Winner 1989 I believe). Now those days are long gone and we have come to realize smoking constantly is a bad thing. If you smart enough to stop, I suggest you do before the thing you love to do becomes your worse enemy. I used to never have panic attacks or anxiety but BAM one day it hit me like a ton of bricks to the point just driving was dangerous and the joys of smoking weed all went out the window. If you ever seen Half Baked, I was like the John Stewart character where everything and anything I did in life needed to be high before doing it because it made that activity that much better "ON WEED". I will say it has it's medical purposes but now it has become so massively abused to the point people have no idea how to self medicate themselves. You just keep taking in more and more because your tolerance has peaked but if you went sober for a while you could get lite off just one bong hit and need no more than one hit to get faded asf. Can't say I loath weed but I've come to realize it destroyed some of my best years on this planet and properly has cut my time shorter on this earth and no temporary feeling is worth that. Been through it all, night sweets, easily irritable when sober, wasted a good chunk of change that went up in smoke for a feeling that in the end does nothing for you. Sure I had some great times while high but when your older you realize that time is the most valuable asset we have on this earth and our health is paramount and nothing is worth more than that. I still am amazed at how weed is everywhere now and everyone smokes it and in public like it is nothing when back in the day you had to be secretive about it. People have no idea how addictive it is and when you feel amazing while high eventually that shit will catch up to you in some way or another. The best advice I ever got in regards to weed was from some "OG" back in the day, if you get high do it rarely and only when you party. But basically nobody listened to that advice because we thought we knew better, he sure schooled us on that one. "You can get much higher without drugs, than with them" \~ **Hunter S. Thompson quote from the Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas movie.**

You'd be amazed to find out how much money yearly is given to north Korea by every country (including us by 'stealing' it) to say we don't work with North Korea is just to convince braindead hollow headed dullards like you. Even IF the market recovers, you never truly recover. Many of us have been through 2 or 3 of these heists before. They're all executed the same way. And, the outcomes are always the same as well. The story changes, but the working class always loses and the politically powerful and uber wealthy always grab a greater slice of the American pie and quite literally the land, businesses, and this time even housing. 1. Stimulus. Massive devaluation of your wages and worse, your lifetimes of savings. The latter is the real target. This time around they stole more than 30% of the working class's purchasing power. 2. Shunting that purchasing power over to the wealthiest by providing even more money to them while distracting the workers. They issue near to zero rate loans usually, but this time was some kind of special with loans that never need to be repaid. Usually, the rich buy up businesses and land and give themselves larger shares of publicly traded companies. This time, they took housing and turned it into rentals. Go figure. An entire generation now will forever be their tenants. 3. With the rich well insulated, next comes market manipulation. We're all trapped via our 401Ks and pensions, we'd pay about 40% just to try to escape in "income tax" and "penalty taxes". So we're stuck. The Fed starts their wipe down, rate hiking, and our 401K balances plummet. Mind you, don't forget, we already lost 30% of purchasing power. So, we then face about a 30 to 40% wipe down on already devalued dollars. 4. Next up is the layoff phase. There is usually lots of talk bout the how good the economy is and how good the job market is. The BAM, massive layoffs and a rapid increase in outsourcing and gig work. Nothing new this time around either. 5. Bonus round is when people lose their homes and jobs, they also start bleeding their retirement plans. Most of us never recovered from prior heists so we now have a nation of people who are woefully underfunded for retirement. And then, they sell what little they have for a massive discount to the rich. 6. Then the whole thing starts all over again, with the working class broken and poorer, and the rich and political so much richer. We've got so-called regulators and representatives of the people now, well, their heirs, who are "worth' hundreds of millions. And the people they truly represent are worth billions to many billions. You never recover, you just rebuild. I'm not so sure the next generation has much hope about it anymore though. They saw it happen to their parents, their grandparents, and now it's happening to them, but they are worse off than any generation before. So, they've thrown their hands up and said fuck it, and fuck you.
