I remember telling you not to discount the threat posed by the Houthis when they threatened to shut down the BAM to Saudi shipping a few months back. Since then they've not only done so, they've repeatedly attacked Saudi oil infrastructure, air bases, and captured ~3,000 sq km from Saudi proxy forces in Yemen. Clearly Saudi is desperate for assistance, they've reached out to their "allies" the Turks and Pakistanis (they signed a defense treaty literally last month) to no avail, the US has told them to pound sand, and they've reportedly asked Israel for help too. Imo the Houthis are focused on winning territory in Yemen and therefore aren't trying to pick a fight with the US (there's been a truce since Trump bombed them in early 2025) and Western countries. I doubt we see any meaningful coalition to take on the Houthis, though Saudi will probably get assistance from the US, Israel, and some Western countries regarding intelligence, military planning, and other assistance.

Got worse? There were like 50 peace deals, broken promises, de-escalations whatever the F you want to call them. There were weeks/months where Iran gave the US a chance to stand down. The US chose a different path. The path of escalation, we sunk a few Iranian tankers, they fired on our warships and now Hormuz is closed, BAM strait is closed, the Saudi East West pipeline is offline for a few weeks at least and WTI closed last week over $100. Now that you're all caught up watch WTI spike in this coming week over $110, and hell probably closer to $120. Not only that, have a look at the last auction for the oil we hold in our SPR. It went largely unbid because of conditions it'd have to be repaid plus 20%. If general sentiment was that oil would be cheaper down the road a bit then it would have been bought up quick but the big players in this game expect higher prices in the near term. Like a few months ago I was like "I think I had some random crypto in binance at some point" and I tired to check on it, had to go through the rigmarole of proving I was me to retrieve my account, found a completely empty wallet and a note saying [binance.us](http://binance.us) was no longer allowed to operate in my state. Searched my email, didn't find anything relevant to the wallet being empty, googled what happened to old crypto that was in a binance wallet and found out that, at some point, they gave people a 90 day grace period to move it (I still have no idea where *that* email is...) and then liquidated anything left and sent to whatever state's unclaimed funds. Found that website, searched for myself, found a few entries for like $5-10, but one of them said $100+ on it. Submitted the form with evidence that I was me (SSN, birthdate, address, etc) and they sent me documentation about what it was and how to claim it - $2684.15 from BAM Trading Services, sent on 11/25/2024.

Not a bad article by any means, but it misses a lot. For one thing, it's almost a month old already and was written before the Houthi entrance to the war, which has reduced flows through the BAM and done damage to multiple Saudi facilities. For another, oil production shut ins remain *at least* 10m bpd which means another ~275m fewer barrels produced than otherwise. It also didn't touch much on China's role in keeping a cap on oil prices which is a big red flag IMO. It also didn't delve into the supposed 5m bpd of demand destruction, which is largely not actual demand destruction and instead delayed demand. All that's the say, the crisis isn't over at all, there still isn't even a meaningful path towards finding a solution all sides cam agree on, and yet oil is down more than 10% in 2 days on *hopes and rumors* of an imminent deal to which there's still little to no actual detail forthcoming. In other words, most of the offsets the article noted have kept a lid on prices for now, but they are by their very nature temporary and unsustainable, yet we still don't have an end to the crisis at all.

My point was that oil fell off a cliff last week into the beginning of this week (more than 20% in 3 days) on *hopes and rumors* and yet now we're back to daily attacks and those rumors are dead, but WTI is still $9 cheaper than it was a week ago. Oh, and lots of bad things happened over this week too including damage to 4 Saudi O&G facilities, half a dozen attacks on tankers in the Strait and BAM, more strikes on tankers in the Black Sea, damage to Russian refineries and export terminals, etc etc etc.

RE cancellations - I'm not a WSB sub person but have a little experience in TV given what I do for a living. A lot of this is rolling executive. An executive comes in, pulls the plug on any in-development shows from the previous executive, then installs their own development slate. That executive leaves, that slate is pulled, etc. etc. My own show and others had a similar pattern. I got greenlit internally twice! Still never got made. The same goes for on-air shows. Stuff just gets the rug pulled out from under it often for no reason at all. I worked on a very successful series recently that never got a follow up after the first season, despite promises that it will. They kept teasing the company owner over it, dragging it out, then BAM. One day, not happening, everyone gets laid off because there's no work. TV is short term. It's RARELY long term. You have to be a success to have that, and even if you are, in streaming in particular you're not necessarily going to get that next season. If I ever got the luck to develop for TV again, I would make sure, if it involved a story arc, that it would just simply have a neat cut-off with a small trail in case a second season was on its way. Absolutely no cliffhangers. You just never know.

Then the American Fork PD releases a public statement about how they didn't do anything wrong and they redacted their body cam footage so it cannot be used. It's literally insane.

Ben goes to their house to politely request they either give back LEGO sets.... new owners call the cops on him several times and even get him arrested on false accusations. Ben shows bodycam footage where cops seem to be in cahoots with new owners. Ben digs deeper and discovers that new owners and police officers involved all went to the same mormon school. New owners then get Ben SWATed by using again false accusations (now they say Ben stole the Legos) New owners are now filing a 300 page lawsuit against Ben for harassments, stalking, bad mouthing them etc.  Several YouTube lawyers took interest in the case and are teaming up with Ben.
