My top holdings and why I hold them

Anytime! The best thing I could find/think of is that CACI and LDOS takes because of the combo of market conditions and PSN/AMTM earnings. PSN/AMTM are peers and report missed. Not uncommon for peers to move on earnings reports from other companies.

These aren't exactly small drops, if you are talking about the large defense companies sure it could be seen as a small correction because they weren't hit as bad, but for the smaller contractors, they took a big hit. SAIC down 16% PSN down 14% BAH down 12% LDOS down 12% CACI down 9%

I think some are from PSN earnings. Like LDOS and CACI probably selling probably because of it. Also AMTM missed their earnings, so wonder if there is some fear in the names.

Just bought some TOI last week. Always rad when you meet people that own the same stock lol. Creeme owns it as well. Yeah, no idea. Like a software engineer, I can kind of see some of the issues, with stuff around like head counts and what not. I do think the market is kind of over reacting, but I'm less confident about this situation as I was about like DOGE. Last year, I was pounding the table for names like LDOS, AMTM, and CACI as great buys because of the DOGE fears. This is a bit different and I do think software will end up fine, just you have to have that framing and conviction when holding these names. It sucks, but mr market is driving the narrative around it.

r/stocksSee Comment

Yeah, PSN is one i watched but never bought because of the fundamentals. I own LDOS. LDOS and CACI where the two I was looking at, especially last year with all the DOGE news.

r/stocksSee Comment

I own all of the above. I post way more in the daily thread. Also feel free to look at my post history, i'm always sharing anything interesting I'm thinking of buying or think might be a good buy. I pretty much screen daily and basically just a GARPy investor. Just bought some THR this morning, was hoping for more of a pull back, but I own a ton of niche industrial and aerospace/defense names, but their performance wouldn't fit what you are asking for. Also bought some TOITF as well, since I think some of the fears of software are overdone and it's kind of buying into market fears. I was telling people during the DOGE days to buy into some defense names like CACI/LDOS, since the DOGE fears were overblown. I might be more wrong on software, but it's a bet I'm willing to take.

r/stocksSee Comment

Depends on the company. I'm holding LDOS and planning on holding as long the company still continues to perform well. I also own some other defense names, but they are more equipment based than stuff like LDOS/CACI/

Definitely. Made some nice returns on AMTM at the same time. CACI got the BWXT multiple expansion to go with it too!

r/stocksSee Comment

Some solid returns on these companies that got hit hard because of DOGE.  I think LDOS and CACI are now like up over 30% YTD.  One of the easier calls of this year was buying into that fear.

I’ll try to actually answer your question. Typically in the past, the market hadn’t been affected unless it lasts over three days which this could. I bought VIX calls yesterday and I bought 10 GLD 350C 10/3. I trimmed half so I am on the houses money. IWM and tech could be vulnerable due to the administrations support for them and how their fingers are in so many pies from AI to chips to crypto. Then their are the news effected tickers. Services short (BAH/SAIC/CACI/LDOS/MMS): (headline-sensitive). But simply VIX and GLD but know, MM’s are already priced in.

Fuck, I need a ticker ….. Usual suspects are all overpriced so hard to make a single bet : BAH, LDOS, CACI, NVDA, PLTR, etc.

Most of the fear over defense spending cuts got priced in early in the year. Not much has changed with defense spending since then and the stocks have rebounded greatly. I doubt there is much more movement based on this bill passing since it's not much of a surprise. CACI did rebound much further than I thought it would due to AI in all fairness.

There's not really much to find. Once upon a time Castellum acquired Merriman Technologies, Drew Merriman (now COO of Casdtellum)'s company, which did work for CACI. So the "strong ties" to which I'm referring are in the network and the potential, not necessarily to something out in the open (because if it were out in the open, things would likely explode)...

Don’t really follow $VOYG, but they don’t make money yet, so it’s something I normally wouldn’t buy   KTOS is more of a trading tool than one I want to invest in. So you want maximum gains or also some safety? In my opinion, 30% All-World will give u a good base. This is followed by some safe stock like Berkshire with a bit to heavy weighted position. The other stocks could be something like UNH for Healthcare, actually on sale right now. Ai is a difficult topic with very high p/e. But maybe something like Applied Materials, a bit of nvidia, tsmc Something in the energy sector like ge vernova Maybe one space and one quantum stock (maybe something like Google or IBM and combine it with a great business) A nice defense stock, maybe also suggest something like CACI. I’ve been nerding out so much on a lot of defense and aerospace companies recently. It’s just a cool niche in terms of what these companies do.  CACI reported yesterday, had a great quarter and raised guidance. ServiceNow saw a lot of new government contracts.  The DOGE stuff feels really over blown.

Mentions:#CACI
r/stocksSee Comment

>They're cutting contracting to the bone too, these organizations arent immune to that.  [https://www.cato.org/blog/doge-fell-short-spending-cuts-now-congress-must-lead](https://www.cato.org/blog/doge-fell-short-spending-cuts-now-congress-must-lead) >Back in October, Elon Musk set the spending cut target at $2 trillion. That was quickly walked back to $1 trillion. Over the last few months, DOGE has had some modest successes, eliminating billions of dollars in government contracts and shrinking the federal workforce by about 12,000 personnel on net (closer to a 130,000 personnel cut in gross). At the same time, DOGE has suffered several major legal setbacks and self-imposed embarrassing blunders. The cumulative result? Elon lowered DOGE’s estimated savings again. This time down to $150 billion. Seems like the cuts are way less to what people think are going to be. Plus we are looking to pass a 1T defense budget. CACI literally just raised full year guidance. ServiceNow also reported seeing wins with government contracts. Do you have any data around them cutting contracts to the bone? > Will BA really be in good shape 6 months from now if the tariffs arent rolled back? There is a ton of demand for jets and other products in aerospace right now. Look at ERJ for example. [https://www.airwaysmag.com/new-post/embraer-record-2024-revenue-deliveries](https://www.airwaysmag.com/new-post/embraer-record-2024-revenue-deliveries) >ERJ's firm order backlog accelerated to US$26.3 billion, a sound market position in commercial aviation and other jets markets. >"Our 2024 performance demonstrates strong demand, operational excellence, and discipline," said ERJ President and CEO Francisco Gomes Neto. The backlog, “combined with investment-grade credit ratings, puts us in position for long-term growth." Even with failing oil prices, FTI put up strong numbers and strong backlogs. Do you have any data from companies to reflect what you are saying?

r/stocksSee Comment

>Stuff like IT Governments haven't really been hit from DOGE, like NOW and CACI. They're cutting contracting to the bone too, these organizations arent immune to that. Hard to say how bad the cuts will get though, I imagine there will be a lot of ahem "donations" from these organizations flowing into Trump's coffers over the coming months in an effort to get his administration to throw contracts their way. >Aerospace and energy names are reporting solid quarters too. A lot of that is backwards looking. Will BA really be in good shape 6 months from now if the tariffs arent rolled back? Oil prices have fallen significantly over the past few months, if the global economy goes under energy companies are gonna suffer big time, especially any US firms tied to fracking.

Mentions:#CACI#BA
r/stocksSee Comment

Then the market will sell off again. However, trying to time any of that is really hard and the easiest thing is still just to hold onto companies you have conviction or understanding of, DCA into low cost indexes funds/etfs, or do what you think is best. Even with the tariffs, there are still pockets of the market that are looking solid/bullish to me. Stuff like IT Governments haven't really been hit from DOGE, like NOW and CACI. Aerospace and energy names are reporting solid quarters too.

They are more consulting business, but they offer things like modernization for companies. LDOS is kind of the same thing, but more on a government contract level. CACI just reported, same kind of concept. Not cheapest name, but DOCS is another software name for the medical space. More of hardware play, but PSTG is interesting at these levels. CLS is a hardware play on data centers, but not bad at these levels in terms of fundamentals and what you're getting at the price.

[http://openinsider.com/SAIC](http://openinsider.com/SAIC) I wouldn't buy at these levels, but KRMN been on a nice little run this they started trading a few months ago. Really expensive based off next years numbers, but they are a really interesting company. The Telsa/PLTR thing kind of makes sense, sine it's probably related to rumor of Musk going away from government. Like AMTM, CACI, KBR, KTOS, LDOS are all having great days, which are all kind of government IT related stocks.

r/stocksSee Comment

I used stocktwits as my watchlist. CACI is up like 6%, KBR, is up like 4% and LDOS is like 3.7%. All solid numbers.

r/stocksSee Comment

Side note, great day for AMTM, CACI, KBR, LDOS.

r/stocksSee Comment

Yeah, I remember I found out about CACI from you, so totally trust your viewpoint on that. AMTM is also a spin off of Jacobs, so it's probably got deep connections in their space. I also like AMTM. One thing about when I invest in a company, I have to actually like the company and business. I also like LDOS a lot because they get NASA contracts and I'm a big fan of space. What is interesting too, is a few names have been trying to diversify away from some government work. Like KBR, is winning some LNG contracts. I saw some note around some of the companies are looking at like 2-4% hits from DOGE, which isn't too crazy, but the valuations have really come down in some of the names.

r/stocksSee Comment

Interestingly, CACI is about inline with its historical valuation. It ran up a ton as an AI play. It's also one of those stocks with a low P/E that buys back a lot of stock, so if it relates higher their buyback will be much less effective. I'm actually sort of neutral on it. I think AMTM is so cheap that even a trash multiple sees 50%+ returns, possibly more. They also are involved with a lot of niche programs like nuclear construction and area 51 operations (allegedly). Really interesting opportunity.

Mentions:#CACI#AMTM
r/stocksSee Comment

True, but AMTM just spun off and it's harder to kind of see the business as much as SAIC. AMTM had just one inside buyer vs a ton of insider buying from like the past year almost. SAIC also is buying back a fair amount of stock with an already low float. They took out like 6% YoY with only 47M on the whole float. Biggest knock on the company is just not a ton of growth. I think they are looking at like 3% this year and 5% next year. Also, the Return on invested capital has really took a hit for a while: [https://quickfs.net/company/SAIC:US](https://quickfs.net/company/SAIC:US) I think a lot of names in the defense IT sector are pretty interesting if you want to take the contrarian view. Stuff like LDOS, CACI, KBR all look like tempting valuations, just hated by the market.

r/wallstreetbetsSee Comment

Anyone shorting SAIC tomorrow? Was planning on doing that but got caught bag holding TSLQ. I can’t see any scenario where SAIC finish the day green, every peer like BAH or CACI that posted good guidance got railed. Every vendor that tried to buy shares back to cover up weak guidance got decimated. Too much uncertainty with DOGE and the street is just picking the fed players apart

r/stocksSee Comment

Yeah AMTM spun off from J. Kind of the same idea of some of the more recent ones, where they are trying to make the businesses more simple.  Seems like there isn’t any bottom for some of these names. Like LDOS, CACI, and AMTM. Of the bunch, LDOS and AMTM have kind of caught my eye in terms of what I want to hold.  Honestly with a ton of names I follow on my watchlist, not a ton of stuff is really working out well. Even CLMB had an amazing quarter and will probably sell off any gains this week.  There is an interesting company, I came across the other day. Can’t name them here, but trying to figure out their deal. Like they haptic feedback stuff, but bought like 42% of Barnes and Nobles online education company when it went bankrupt a few months ago. The company is now seeing insane growth, but no idea how to valuate it or how sustainable that is.

r/stocksSee Comment

u/_hiddenscout I was looking at CACI again.... while it's sold off a ton, I think that's a bit misleading. It ran up to abnormal levels as an AI trade. It's actually trading more inline with its normal valuation (15x) right now. That said, if you think DOGE isn't going after defense (and I think that's becoming less likely) it's not a bad pickup here. $350 would actually be interesting. However, I found AMTM over the weekend. Also sold off on DOGE fears, but it's also been hammered because it's a recent spin off. Institutions had to dump it, however there's been recent insider buying. The company got laden with debt at spin off, but management is focused on paying that off. If they hit guidance, it's trading around 9x 2025 FCF, which is crazy cheap for a government contractor.

r/stocksSee Comment

Just stumbled on this company and researching it... Reference LDOS and BAH, at this point I don't think they deserve the same multiple. BAH seems to have much better contracts with more guaranteed money. That said, I do think that AMTM can be close to a CACI and other second tier names. Plus, I'm really impressed by the spectrum of their business. Space, drones, nuclear.... there's a lot of potential here. Did you end up buying?

Lol. Was talking about this the other day, that the market is giving a lot of credit to the Theil/Vance connection with PLTR. Like almost every IT defense name has been dumping since November, like you can look at the chart of LDOS, CACI, PSN and see they all fall almost the exact date and are like 30-40% off their highs.

r/stocksSee Comment

Yeah, it can go either way. You could see a huge surge in contracts put out to bid as we outsource more and more functions. CACI would likely be the recipient of many of those. Or just take it in house and run it lean. Or give it to PLTR because of their connections...

Mentions:#CACI#PLTR
r/stocksSee Comment

I do think CACI is one of those companies with easy targets for DOGE. They basically run IT. That said, this selloff is getting epic. It's definitely showing signs of capitulation. Trading at 11x 2027 consensus earnings. You could drop earnings by 30% and it's still at 16x 2027 earnings, which is about it's average.

Mentions:#CACI
r/stocksSee Comment

Exactly, it's just an odd thing. Haven't looked at PLTR's number in a minute but I'm assuming they still do way more government contracts than commercial. Also, things like LDOS/CACI are more value add in terms of modernizing some of the government IT.

r/stocksSee Comment

Also kind it kind of odd how PLTR is someone viewed as like the winner of the DOGE stuff as well. Like CACI/LDOS both put out solid earnings, just one of those things where I think market forces lose nuance, which I point out in the semis. Like you know about how bad the auto/industrial market is there, but it's really not talked about as much as the AI/high computer and most people just associate chips with that.

r/stocksSee Comment

Key word is "unlikely" right now, considered that there isn't really any nuance with DOGE. Like they fired a bunch of people in National Nuclear Security Administration only to scramble to try to hire them back. I do like AMTM long term, same with like LDOS/CACI, but will be interesting to see if AMTM can hold onto the gains in the upcoming weeks.

r/stocksSee Comment

Just a call out, a few other names in the space like CACI has been crushed since November. LDOS is now down like 35% since it's November high, which the same for PSN. They all fell on like November 12 of last year. I do think it's overdone, but there is going to be nothing but really negative sentiment to some of these names with DOGE still ongoing.

r/stocksSee Comment

BAH, CACI, ODP, PDM and defense contractors have already moved sharply lower I think MCK RCAT and UMAC will probably go much lower

r/stocksSee Comment

Thanks for the reply! Lots of names I haven't heard of before (SRAD, CTLP, PLMR, HRMY, CORT). I'll look into them this weekend! I am in CW and MLI as well. And I'm with you on the government agency fear stocks - I'm watching them but still haven't opened any positions. Now might be time to get into DRS though. CACI as well.

r/stocksSee Comment

Yeah part of why I'm ok being a contrarian here might pay off, is that companies like CACI and LDOS actually help modernize the government, so it does seem like the contracts they have aren't ones that maybe DOGE will go after? Either way, there is probably going to be negative sentient in the space for the short to mid term. I think DOGE is at the IRS and will probably go to the Pentagon in the near future.

Im nibbling on it. DRS has done well for me but took off too fast and wasnt able to build a full position. Im not sure what to think of CACI, its earnings were good, they have a strong balance sheet, just worried its dead money for the next 4 years

I think it could just be how the indexed are weighted. When you are buying the SP500 now, it's extremely top heavy in tech. APPL, NVDA, MSFT, AMZN, META, AVGO, GOOGL make up about 30% of the weight of the index. Macro factors of what you are listing really haven't impacted some or any of these companies. Under the hood, you are talking individual stocks, they have been impacted. For example, stuff that deal with government/defense spending have reflected some of what you are saying. LDOS, PSN, CACI are down like 30-40% since November.

Not sure if it will happen, but I'm sure the fear of DOGE is still there regardless. Some of the names that do more like IT with defensive have been crush, like LDOS, PSN, CACI. Part of the reason why I like DRS, is they have exposure to naval power systems, which is one component of the military that is really needed. US is really lagging behind China in terms of ship building.

CACI, LDOS and BAH finding new ways to keep drilling. Down 30+% in the last 3 months because of Daddy Trump and DOGE

It's crazy seeing some names just going down, like LDOS, PSN, and CACI. I get it, but DOGE is like deep seek moment for defense names.

Still so conflicted on some of the defense names like PSN, CACI, and LDOS. Fundamentals are solid, just seems like they might be dead money because of DOGE.  Wonder if this is a case of buying into the fear.

There’s been some solid earnings in the aerospace sector. Actually been buying some names in the space.  Yeah I find CACI, PSN, LDOS interesting. Just wonder how much the negative sentiment will keep pushing them.

CACI earnings basically kickstarted led to all the Fed IT vendors taking a beating the last few weeks. Went all in on that one and got burnt. CACI beat Wall Street expectations and even raised its guidance…but stock price dumped because of a seasonal drop in bookings (that other vendors had warned about over the summer) because everyone’s terrified about DOGE. I actually like LDOS, BAH and CACI long term but am now staying away from them…at least until Trump’s budget is proposed. LDOS probably will post good numbers but Wall Street are gonna look for any reason to dump. Hoping you actually make some money on this one

You saw how CACI, MMS and BAH went and decide to do calls for LDOS? God speed

Can Big Bear ai reach $150 share price next year ?? I am damn sure that the current CEO Mr.Kevin McAleenan with his contacts in Trump administration gets more DoD, US Army, US Navy and Airport TSA contracts this full year. I have visited the offices in Columbia, Maryland and McLean, Ashburn and Vienna offices in Virginia. They all look like big corporations just like CACI / Raytheon offices from outside and inside so this BigBear ai is not any small AI company….

I'm there with you. There is a lot of good growth in the aerospace components. Like ATI announced the other day, they do a lot of business in that space. They saw 10% YoY growth. Also think there is going to have to be a good spend at some point in the naval space, since the US is behind in terms of ship building. It's kind of a contrarian play, but some of the defense names that deal with more software side of things, like CACI, LDOS, PSN, are all down pretty big with DOGE fear.

LOL I came here to say the same. I work asa UI UX designer as CACI, we use Workday, I F'n HATE it.

Curious to see some people's thought around some of the defense contracting names that work more in the information services spaces. Seems like some are selling off because of DOGE, but look to have solid valuations at this point. Stuff like CACI, PSN, LDOS. Just curious people think it might pay off to be contrarian here

Prices of US govt contractors (e.g., BAH, CACI) are also depressed because of DOGE overhang...favorable risk/reward IMO

CACI completely obliterates Wall Street’s expectations and raises its guidance…but because of an expected seasonal decline in bookings, the stock tanks nearly 20% and every other fed IT vendor gets bent over as well. Love this market ![img](emote|t5_2th52|31226)

I vaguely follow it. I sold out a while ago because I'm fairly convinced the US will have to cut defense spending as part of balancing it's budget. Unfortunately I was a bit early as CACI became a bit of an AI play.... I actually found this name myself, so I'm not sure if there are any good writings about it. I know Murray Stahl of horizon kinetics owns CACI, but I don't see him write about it often. Looking at it after the drop and it's an ok value, in my opinion. Not spectacular. Unless you think defense spending is going to boom, in which case this is probably a good dip.

Hey, hope all is. Was looking at CACI the other day. Looks like since that pullback one some defense names, the valuation actually looks pretty solid.  You still following the company at all?  Also, any suggestions on sub stacks to follow?  Thanks man!

CACI is an excellent company in the defense sector. A is a wonderful company in the medical sector. KO is a great consumer staple company that is not volatile.

No. CACI is an integrator. They incorporate software, like PLTR, into their offerings. While they may build some custom SW, more often than not it’s more cost effective to use COTS for targeted functionality…like PLTR.
