YOLO on robot overlords CGNX.

OUST and CGNX definitely for me for robotics visuals. Consider looking at MBLY and ARBE, though not as certain, more speculative, and more for autonomous vehicles.

Thanks for the tip with CGNX. Will look it up more! Sony is not enough of a pure play for me. Same as Samsung. While Samsung is great and they are into robotics (owns a big chunk of rainbow robotics), it's not the driving force behind the stock. Like buying Microsoft only for cloud. BB isn't really my cup of tea. Used to me a memestock so I can't really figure out what drives it anymore. Falls in the "too hard to understand" category for me.

Like the post. Got any opinions on Sony or BB. I own a ton of CGNX, also like the robotics play

If you think space exploration will continue to grow… which is projected to triple by 2050… we’ll get there sooner though. Here’s one you can do some DD on… MDA is a tremendous company. They are going on a similar path to RKLB (very different business, just in terms of completing the chain). They have secured domestic launches in Canada and I’d argue they have chip to constellation now after acquiring SatixFys payload division. Geo intelligence side is going to be drastically re rated by the Canadian government sooner than later imo. Also the market hasn’t seemed to realize they make autonomous robotics and vision sensors, this is going to be and already is a KEY area in the development of robotics self driving vehicles, delivery bots, restaurant service etc etc anything that needs depth perception. It’s very hard, but if you can stomach the drawdowns you will double your money in 2-3yrs. CGNX who I started a position last week in just got re rated 20% on earnings, they are the global leader in vision sensors and demand is just starting.

I guess I wait for CGNX now

Yeah, don't own it anymore, but was bullish on CGNX, since it's a pure play on computer vision, which I think will benefit from more warehouse automation. The cow thing is so cool. There's actually a lot of technology going that has been going into the agriculture space. Like I remember a while ago, John Deere was hiring for space/satellites. Plus there is a lot of stuff with precision planting and killing weeds with lazers.

There are a couple of interesting robotics and space stocks that aren't necessarily just meme stocks. In robotics, CGNX and AMBA grew revenue 18%/31% Q YoY. They're priced like growth stocks. Only CGNX has earnings. For space stocks, RDW and SATL have interesting revenue growth (51%/29%). There are a few others too - you decide which look appealing. CGNX will rip. Huge moat for robotics vision & sensors

Mentions:#CGNX

Robots and automation are basically blind without machine vision, and CGNX is one of the cleanest pure-plays on that “eyes + brains” layer (industrial vision, inspection, barcode/ID, quality control, logistics).

It's just something really interesting. Like posted about CGNX a few weeks ago, since they do computer vision. It's something I want to invest in, but it's hard to find any pure plays. Just think it's cool seeing some real applications with "AI" and this is an actual business use case that can make WM more money.

Smart approach. picking the winning robot company is a crapshoot, but they all need components. The actual supply chain breakdown: Precision reducers/gears (this is the niche monopoly): \- Harmonic Drive (Japan: 6324.T) and Nabtesco (Japan: 6268.T) control \~75% of the precision gear market for robot joints. every robot arm needs these. extremely hard to replicate - takes years of manufacturing expertise. closest thing to a monopoly in robotics. Servos/motion control: \- Yaskawa (Japan: 6506.T) - largest servo motor manufacturer globally \- Fanuc (Japan: 6954.T) - dominant in industrial robots AND makes their own servos \- Rockwell Automation (ROK) - US play on industrial automation \- Parker Hannifin (PH) - motion and control systems Machine vision: \- Cognex (CGNX) - dominant in industrial machine vision. high margins, niche leader \- Keyence (Japan: 6861.T) - sensors, vision systems. insanely profitable, 50%+ margins Lidar/sensors: \- this space is crowded and bleeding money. Luminar, Ouster, Hesai all struggling. I'd avoid until there's a clear winner \- Sick AG (Germany) is the boring profitable option for industrial sensors Chips: \- NVDA for AI training and edge compute (Jetson platform is popular in robotics) \- AMD growing in data center, also has embedded solutions \- Qualcomm (QCOM) for mobile/edge robotics \- Texas Instruments (TXN) and Analog Devices (ADI) for the less sexy but essential motor control chips The picks I'd actually consider: 1. Harmonic Drive or Nabtesco (duopoly on precision gears) 2. Cognex or Keyence (machine vision, actual moats) 3. Rockwell or Yaskawa (automation exposure)

Yeah, I've just been watching EMR to see how they digest their APC platform for now. I would kind of like if it just keeps consolidating here for a few more quarters, I'm in no rush to get in lol. Good find on CGNX, I would like to have exposure in computer/machine vision so will have to look over the company better than just passing by lol. The valuation seems good overall for growth, 1.96 PEG and 55% EPS growth YoY. The balance sheet looks solid as well, although debt-equity of 0.05 is surprisingly low but seems they operate with little debt over several years, so good on them. Revenue does appear quite cyclic for FY2022 and FY2023 but I suspect much of that was a pull forward in FY2021. Last two years has been more steady top and bottom line performance.

Totally. Yeah, we've talked EMR before. Cool company, but just wild their revenues have been pretty flat the past year. Yeah, CGNX is kind of a pure play on computer vision and I do like the general overall theme. Past quarter they saw pretty big revenue jump, part was like a one time expense thing, but they are seeing a lot of growth in the warehouse. Just hoping if the growth keeps up that it might be a decent play on the theme.

Anyone here follow or heard of CGNX? Started looking into some companies trying to play some warehouse automation themes. Valuation isn't the cheapest, but it's not terrible. Pays a tiny dividend too at .88% lol. [https://finviz.com/quote.ashx?t=CGNX](https://finviz.com/quote.ashx?t=CGNX) However, last quarter, they saw pretty solid growth. Here's their description: >Cognex Corporation provides machine vision products that capture and analyze visual information to automate manufacturing and distribution tasks worldwide. >Its machine vision products are used to automate the manufacturing and tracking of discrete items, including mobile phones, automotive components, and e-commerce packages by locating, identifying, inspecting, and measuring them. >The company offers VisionPro software, a suite of patented vision tools for advanced programming; In-Sight product line of vision systems and sensors; QuickBuild that allows customers to build vision applications with a graphical, flowchart-based programming interface; and DataMan, an image-based barcode readers and barcode verifiers; vision accessories, such as industrial cameras, lenses, lighting, vision controllers, frame grabbers, and I/O cards. >It sells its products to automotive, logistics, consumer electronics, medical-related, semiconductor, consumer products, and food and beverage industries through a network of distributors and integrators. Also seconding the people research. I recently looked into the history of a solar company. Some of the executives came from another solar company that had gone bankrupt a couple years ago. I looked at their linked ins. The old CFO ended up going to CGNX.  They run in cliques, just like a gang of kids in high school. The good ones win, the rest flounder.

Today his very long-winded ad recommended buying Arista (ANET) and selling Cognex (CGNX).

Mentions:#ANET#CGNX
r/StockMarketSee Comment

At the very end of his very, very long recent ad video, he says to buy Arista (ANET) and avoid Cognex (CGNX). Stock Advisor said to buy ANET back in 2017 and 2019 when it was around $10 and $16. It's around $109 now. I've put them both in my virtual portfolio to see how they do. He wants you to sign up to his service, get a report called, "Tomorrow's 10x Power Trends," and offers a cash refund within 30 days. He spends most of the ad reporting only on the winners he chose, and winners his algorithm *would have* chosen based on historic records. He reminds me of Jeane Dixon, who predicted tons of stuff incorrectly, but due to confirmation bias many people only remembered the accurate ones. Some folks on Trustpilot complain about how hard it is to get a refund. BBB rates them A+. Trustpilot has many complaints based on the recent ad, where they claim he lied about revealing the stock picks. They were just impatient. I read reviews on my computer while he blathered on via my phone's Chrome app. Trustpilot seems to be a place for people to vent their spleen without full information.

Near-shoring, demographic shifts, and macroeconomic pressures are all tailwinds $ROK $AIT $ADDNY $TSLA $SYM $CGNX $TER $ZBRA Hyundai but no ticker I like $AIT as a picks and shovels play but would love to get in $ADDNY under $35. Took some gains and bought back in on dips I've been swing trading LPSN I'm down on CGNX, FTNT, LMND but I will hold Looking for exit on U the main picture here was good timing on AI The question now is, is it a bubble? I'm betting that it's not.

What companies do you work with to assemble assemblies? Ive started thinking few yeas back that because of China / US split and labour shortages it's a good idea to invest in manufacturing automation. So I started buying shares of ROK, EMR, ETN, HON, CGNX and similar names. Are these the names you work with?

This may sound boring but it’s the truth, just bought strong companies and never sold. APPL - 2008 META - 2013 GOOG - 2011 IPGP - 2009 BRK.B - 2016 TSLA - 2015 AMZN - 2014 CGNX - 2013 I’d be a genius if these were the only stocks I bought. They are not. But they are the only ones I have, for the most part, simply refused to sell as they went up. Even with the recent pull back, those are all around 700% gain

I expect a lot of M&A in the 500m-10bn range for companies that are in the industrial space. Reshoring will be a major narrative over the next 10 years. \[Canada, US, Mexico, Indonesia, India, UK\]. As a result, I think a lot of the companies that will benefit from this narrative will get bought out, particularly if their stock price is depressed as a result of a recession. **Watch out for these, particularly if they trade below their book value.** STAG Industrial, Inc. After some deliberation I went with CGNX, CORT, VEEV, and VRTX at this time. Still considering some of the others like ESNT, IDA, INS, and SLP. I already have a healthy position in MSFT and have been looking for a reentry point on ANET. Should have bit the bullet when it got under 310 last week.

I have several 3-8 baggers from MF: CGNX, APPN, ATVI, TTD, etc., all held 3+ years. And I definitely have more winners than losers over the years. I’ve also learned to not buy immediately after a recommendation, and I always do my own DD. The spam is annoying, but I just ignore it. One can also garner clues from their articles” disclosures about what the more pricey services may be recommending.

I'm long & bullish on CRM (although not a huge % of my portfolio) so I'm hanging on. Today was a bargain if you believe where the company is going. (Rant: this recent trend of great quarter results caveated with limited near-term guidance driving down valuable stocks is getting increasingly frustrating, e.g. CRM, TTD, CGNX, etc.) So short-term puts may work out, but for me long-term I'm buying more shares at a bargain - and/or a longer-term call (which I also did today). We'll see if I'm wrong...
