The "Floor" of the last bear market was around $17k in DEC 2022. The next bear market, the floor might be $50K, and after that the next bear floor might be $100k and so on... It's impossible to time each buy perfectly, and waiting could cost you more in the future. If you are a long term HODLer you just buy when you can and hope the value continues to increase.

No I don't think Block is going to die within 10 years and didn't write that they would. Companies do tend to have an end. Some can outlive humans but most don't. There have been many very successful companies that in their heyday showed no sign of their eventual demise. Just to pull one out of the air.. DEC computers.. a behemoth in the computing industry for decades that went defunct by the late 90s. My main point though was just to draw attention to the worst case scenario where one wakes up from a coma and the company is gone, the phone is lost, and there no backups of either of those keys.

Go look at the date of when BTC chart when it hitting $19,000 for the first time last run, which was the end of NOV/beginning of DEC 2020, and then look at where alt prices were at that point. I don't think it's possible to really hold like that until you already have fuck you money. I've been mining since pre-GPU mining, and I had to sell a few times because of emergencies or to buy my home. It sucks to look at those figures now, but I can name 10 other times that I would have gladly sold them to cope with life events. Some people have that. Personally, I don't care about any currency over life events. Crypto was just the first investment to go for me. The people I know that have held on to their crypto through everything also have it as about their only investment. To do that with crypto TODAY is not smart. Even in 2015, it would have been absolute lunacy. It was play money at best. I mostly kept it in case I needed to buy pills online. Can you imagine trying to tell your spouse that the crypto was more important than not living in an apartment anymore? That it would be a better investment than a house? Also, if that guy exists? You'll never know. He's going to tell everyone he spent it all too. (Your buddy with 80 probably wishes you didn't know that, right?) So the Venn diagram of someone that is in the space early, has no money issues or life issues that require cashing out, sees crypto as an investment above alternatives, doesn't get involved with other coins before or after? Not getting robbed/scammed/kidnapped etc. either? Well, that guy was probably already well off, and would have made a fortune doing that with just about any decent investment and the same tenacity.   Fun side story: My dad worked in the same building as Microsoft in the late 70's. Talked to Bill Gates and Paul Allen all the time. (Apparently Paul was really great, but Bill just kept saying to my dad "We don't need you. You're a hardware guy. We only need software guys.") They would have realistically hired him in a second. He would have been employee 40-something. He had helped them with a few issues already. But he had a great job with DEC working at Sandia Labs. His job was 10 times better than what they could offer. He would have left for half of the salary and no benefits. It would have been one of dozens of similar startups he could have jumped ship for, why were they different? Previous to that? He had a 1970 Hemi Barracuda 426. Bought it right out of the service and it had exploded in value before he even drove it off the lot. But life get in the way and it was no different then. He got caught in a sandstorm and insurance screwed him on it, so he had to sell it. But he made a profit even then, and he was fine with that. And decades later we watched cars just like his go up for auction for 800K-1.6M. Doubt a single one of them was the original owner.

So there are multiple transaction going on, seems like a bit of a daisy chain of in/out transactions for about .35BTC all trying to execute on 14 DEC. Each one while a little on the low side 45k sats is not unreasonable and blocks are getting mined with less average cost. I suspect the issue might be that fact that because of the daisy chain, the child transactions can't execute until the parent transactions execute. So it might just be a bit of statistics making it unlikely that every one of those transactions get mined in the correct order in the same block. Interesting, little puzzle. Maybe it is worth your while to follow the bulk of the .35BTC back through the blockchain.

My comment is not a 100% guarantee of the future, but yes, BTC has certainly gone up >148% in the past year which is very considerable when you compare the US markets like $VTI which did 22%. The problem I have with calling this a bull run is that we have yet to make a new ATH. I was already expecting some sort of pump before the halving (even wo/ETFs - although I was expecting to be more so DEC 2023 - JAN 2024, so it came sooner than expected). ETF & halving are towards the beginning of 2024, but when I reference historical data from BTC, we typically do not see a huge spike until a few months after the halving. Past trends do no guarantee future results, but it is the best data I have to support this theory which has seemingly worked thus far. I would argue that there is not enough data to say that BTC is in the next bull run already; IMO we could definitely see some pullback or stay around this range for 1-3 months before there is big price movement again and we breach a new ATH.

Both companies allow you to be paid for creating an account if you follow the company's insurance and use a company's code after downloading the app. Cash App: VMKTXKL Strike App: G1YDMC Hope this helps. \> There is no standard for money, money is whatever we choose it is. I think you may have these the wrong way around. When we choose money (wampum, rai, or whatever), then our choice becomes the standrd for money. I was working for DEC in the late 80s, and I remember the Protocol Wars. I remember DECnet getting squeezed out by TCP/IP, and the way Matthew Kratter describes it in the video is exactly what happened. I disagree with your contentions; I think Capital B Bitcoin ***is*** a protocol. It is a way of communicating value according to standards and a specified ruleset, and that makes it a protocol. You go on to say "here is no store of value, because what is that value? " I work for x hours, I get paid y sats (rather than z dollars). The value of my labor has been stored. You also talk about houses and cars. These are not (or should not be) stores of value. They are consumer goods. Agreed, my third or fourth house that I rent out are stores of value, but not my primary residence. It has only become so, because there's nowhere else for your average Joe to store walth that won't get debased. Case in point: my parents bought the house I'm living in today for the equivalent of 280 ounces of gold. Today, it's worth 280 ounces of gold. Last point. Dunno for certatin, but I think the 'scam' business is arounf the fact that every crypto is a security, but Bitcoin is not.

marketcap is still essentially small and limited to a fairly specific subset of the market. Speculation and hype are HUGE factors in the market sentiment and price point. It's not so much that anyone expects BTC to go away but the reputational shift and on-ramp ease-of-access that are huge informational pieces. A HUGE sector of the population that can buy btc without needing to know a DEC vs CEX and having their employer buy bitcoin for them in their 401k is a pretty big market shift.

3 trillion mcap happened already for crypto though. Things returning to the way it was isn't really THAT a big thing for crypto OG and newcomers alike. Source: https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/ DEC 2013 - topped to about 24 billion JAN 2018 - topped to about 1.3 trillion NOV 2021 - topped to about 4.6 trillion Just saying, 3 trillion would mark the point of break even for those who bought at previous ATH. Crypto with self custody of assets by far is the easiest way to invest. This is specially true when you compare it to stocks - too many hoops to jump there. Between BTC and ETH - ETH is the clear winner in the long run. Stay safe everyone.

tldr; A new group of Bitcoin miners called the Digital Energy Council (DEC) has been formed to lobby for friendly policies towards the mining industry in the United States. Led by Tom Mapes, the DEC aims to promote responsible and sustainable energy development, grid resilience, and dispel misconceptions about Bitcoin mining. The organization has gained support from policymakers such as U.S. Senators Lisa Murkowski and Cynthia Lummis. I'm talking about the DEC 21 ATH to OCT22 low back to now for a lower high ( although I expect we may see a short term bounce up to around 465, which is the .886 fib). I see the reasoning of 410 as the daily 200sma, then 400 as the covid low .236 retracement as good areas to stop the fall, bit lose those and a lower low could be next around 340.

Certainly anything is possible and im not at all saying the price of btc won't go up over the next 18 months because I fully expect it to. With all the things you mentioned they could well be the catalysts that lead btc to 69k by DEC 2024 which would put BTC in an identical position to 2020. That then along with thr self fulfilling belief in the 4 yr cycle drives BTC to passed the ATH coming into 2025 and then the bull is on and then it tops out late 2025. But of course you could be correct and the ETFs may launch going into the halving causing BTC to go past its ATH earlier than that and maybe it gets overheated in 2024 and we have a triple top this time. Anything is possible but I'll plan for what I think is most likely and it actually doesn't change strategy at all. The strategy is just to DCA as much BTC & ETH as possible now and over the next 12-18 months. Perhaps with a few alts added in if I can afford it and if alts bleed super hard though we shall see.

Just my 2 sats, did exactly this in DEC ‘21, been DCA ever since and I’m only down like 9% with halving and blackrock ETF hype inbound.

I have paper shares of Digital Equipment Corporation in a frame on my wall. In 1976 I was convinced that computing was the future. And I was one of the early adopters. And I was very, very right. Over the next dozen years, DEC shares split, and split again. It became a titan, and the stock rose to dizzying heights. I had called it right and, combined with other investments, was worth a small fortune. Thankfully, I had great advice and had been diversifying, harvesting some wins, making new bets in adjacent areas... telecom, then mobile, then the mobile internet... But I still believed, and still held. Now those shares aren't worth the hook in the wall, let alone the frame. I keep them and look at them from time to time as an object lesson in how you can be absolutely right about the direction of a technology, and dead wrong on who wins the money. Stay diversified. Watch the evolution and adjacent markets. This one isn't called yet, by any means.

I don't find investing x day of the month or week, If I did that my AVG would be too high right know I started buying crypto again in DEC last year, I wait a long time to invest but I did the right thing since everything was pointing, during 2022, that we will keep going down

While I understand the NYKNYC crowd, I see the point in this move. I started my crypto journey with Revolut in DEC 2020. I noticed you can easily buy them in their app and so I did for a couple of months (DCA'd through the bull market -\_-'). By July my basic education was "complete" and, tired of waiting for the withdrawal possibility, I sold everything and moved the funds to my own wallets. So Revolut not only was my onboarding app, they also allowed me to safely invest while I was learning about the stuff. Many people will stop there and not put in the time to learn about keys and wallets. They need a reliable place to store (and stake) their cryptos.

There are futures with fixed expiry or perpetuals. BTW deribit is an exchange that tries to keep funding rate of perpetuals close to spot. So you will likely not pay close to 20%. However this can change. Current premium for Dec 2023 is 2.5%: [https://www.deribit.com/futures/BTC-29DEC23](https://www.deribit.com/futures/BTC-29DEC23) Other exchange like Kraken also has similar products.

Mentions:#BTC#DEC
r/BitcoinSee Comment

The tl;dr is: Buy futures, sell bitcoin. You keep the exposure to bitcoin but you transform part of it in cash for use right away. The risk is price goes down and you are liquidated. The advantage is you get cash right away. The price you pay is interest or a "futures premium". On Bitmex you can find an example here https://www.bitmex.com/app/trade/XBTH23 for deribit (not available in the US) you can find one example here https://www.deribit.com/futures/BTC-29DEC23 You can check other expiration dates (june, september, etc.). One important thing to know: never trade "perpetual" futures, the interest you pay is too high. Carrying a position in "real" (not perpetual) has no carrying costs, the price you pay is the premium when initiating the trade and thats it (eg bitcoin future is 21500 but bitcoin trades at 21200, the 300 is all you "pay", meaning you only have profit after bitcoin crosses 21500).

Discord and community still alive, having survived a year of bear and a collapse of the native blockchain ONE 3. Expanded to AVAX and MATIC, two very strong blockchains Splinterlands (SPS/DEC) 1. Active economy and playerbase 2. Bot support will let it live through bear even as playerbase dips 3. Expanding into tower defense and other genres of games Play to earn game will always have a market in countries ravaged by inflation. Decentr $DEC looks pretty good. Same theory as BAT but built on Cosmos SDK

Sold most of alt yesterday to buy back lower after this bull trap dump. Not gonna hold alts unless the rate hike in DEC comes out 50bps

No, maybe they shouldn't. And maybe the sub shouldn't pander and pussyfoot all day to newbies like yourself. Listen. the reason why you are getting comic, sarcastic replies is because you have been lazy in contributing to this sub, and (believe it or not) your question has been asked a hundred times before. 'How do i store my seed phrase' 'How do you store your seed phrase' 'what's the best way to store your seed phrase' ''how do you guys keep your seed phrase secure' [Over](https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/vzkqlm/seed_phrase_storage/) and [over](https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/nyha8r/whats_your_creative_method_to_store_your_seed/) and [over](https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/qae35h/where_or_how_do_people_currently_store_their_seed/) a-fucking-gain, ad nauseum. Did you think to scroll back down to the hundreds of posts, prior to yours to find one of these myriad of similar posts that might answer your question? Do you think readers of this sub who have been here 9 years+ might be perhaps... a little tired of this question? maybe even a little bored? Did you think your question is radically game-changingly new? Nobody thought to ask this question in a 5.7million readership sub before? Most pertinently - did you actually do your research, or expect people to regurgitate the same answers they've been giving for the past 9+ years? Your post is up there with: 'What do you think the price of bitcoin will be in \_\_\_\_\_XXXX years' Answers typically: 'EOY DEC2021' or 'Let me get out my crystal ball' Let me spell it out so it is absolutely clear: YOUR QUESTION IS FUCKING BORING. WE HAVE HEARD IT ALL BEFORE HUNDREDS OF TIMES. That is why you are recieving comic and sarcastic answers necaise we are bored. And that is the reason there is so much life in this subreddit - the cheekiness and randomness of answers from people who are bored shitless by your samey posts and just want to inject some life and humour into what would otherwise be a fucking dead boring subreedit. This is a forum, not an FAQ/Pinned post site. It is the biggest cryptocurrency forum on the entire planet. A quick search would have found your answer. No, because if the answer to your question is not going to be here, it's not going to be anywhere! Posting a question like yours on this sub only serves to show you haven't bothered to do any research, and that's kinda disrespectful for all the people who put in time to answer your question years back. So. No, we should NOT start a sub called "cryptocurrencyvets". YOU should do your fucking research, or start your own sub, with boring self-samey copy-pasted answers.
