Well I started after it already crashed. I was assigned twice (and it looks like I will be again) when ETHU has spiked up. But then I just waited, did a CSP and got the CSP assigned again at the cost basis I wanted. I'm happy to get a CSP assigned because I always sell the put at the price I want to pay - in this bear market, it's not hard - my cost basis is $22 right now, so that's what I tend to sell the puts at. ETHU is quite a bit higher than this right now and I have CCs expiring on the 17th - we'll see. I'll likely get assigned.

Yep!! I’ve laid the ground already for my 45 days put spreads. I’ve let up and moved some further down. Daily I’m selling call credit spreads on the SPY expiring just 1-5 days out. Quick burn and churn. I’m also selling CSPs on inverse funds. And ETHU a bit. Also USAS. One could sell some CSPs on the Vix and oil stuff right now.

ETHU 1 year return: **2.6%** (for comparison, underlying ETH-USD 1 year return: 53.3%) ETHU 1Y Max drawdown: **-90.84%** There are 2.8 Billion dollars invested in it! Who is this money? Don't mean to be snarky or condescending, seriously curious who thinks it's a good investment and why.

Sold leveraged ETHU puts exp 10/17 this morning when it was up 1.4% for a $1000 loss in one day… its flipped in 3 hours and I would’ve been up $2000. I finally feel like I belong here.
You say it's a viable strategy, but you don't seem to be so in favor of it. The other way I thought to get a bigger return on my investment, as IBIT, ETHA, or Solana goes up 50%, is to get a 2X ETF...BITX, ETHU, or SOLT. But they rebalance daily, so I don't know how much more I would get, even if I'm right and the underlying goes up 50% from here....maybe 90%, but maybe a lot less. I don't know. Given my 3 choices: 1. just hold the underlying; 2. buy long-term LEAPS at about 1/2 price, in order to control about double the amount of shares; 3. buy the 2X ETFs....which would you suggest? And do you think I can make a lot more percentage profit with either choice 2 or choice 3, than just choice 1...with the thesis being that the underlying will go up about 50% in the next few months? Thanks for taking the time to try to help me.
If I do more eth exposure I'd by the actual asset. If I did an ETF for eth exposure I'd buy ETHU. I am interested in building on covered call ETFs right now

Sorry for not replying to this. Are you still holding at $175? Did you buy more in the $140 range? Ether way I would have told you I don't see Eth breaking below $4,000 but I did not tell you that. Sorry. But my reality is that I did not sell but I added another 500 shares at $140 to $159 range. I'm hoping we break $5,000 Eth this week. I think that would be good for ETHU breaking $200. I feel there would be a run up to $5700 in October or even sell the news after next friday. Pullback to $4500 might be my new short term support level on pullback. I also feel after pullback, Eth makes a move towards $7500 by end of year or early next year. ETHU target would be $360 with factoring in time decay. Here is my proof of holding strong. Sold all my leveraged ETHU (temporarily) to buy Klarna cuz it’s the most volatile position in my portfolio and figured it’d make sense for that capital to be used. Gotta love ETHU being up 8% from 4:00 pm yesterday and getting filled for 10% of the Klarna shades I requested.
I backtested buying calls on ETHA (ethereum etf) vs ETHU (2x ethereum etf), and ETHA returns more on the calls due to tighter spreads and no loss in fees for normal moves. ETHU only returns more for huge moves. In theory it is interesting to think about. Like if we did an option chain on the ETHA $40 jan 2026 calls, and bought a 30 delta call on a 40 delta call. It is essentially like buying calls on ETHU. Greater upside for huge moves up, but higher probability of expiring worthless, and the spreads are worse.
I invested in ETHU and I want out. Please let me get back to even i'll never touch imaginary money again I promise.
Have you thought about BMNR instead of ETHU? Feels like both are leveraged

Well, I think a mild bull case is ETH breaks $5000 by end of next week and moves up to $5500 over the following week before the fed meeting September 14th. Then I see a pullback to $4400 before they cut rates. Once they cut the rate it's game on and ETH rallies to $6700 at minimum by end of year. So with the move to 5500 Ethu will hit around $225 to $230. Then a potential drop back to $140. Then a peak to around $310. I took away decay and fees. This is for the more low end bull run targets. If ETH runs to between 7500 and 10k by end of year ETHU could get as high as $375-$400.
Do I go all in on ETHU at open?
OPEN calls, GOOG calls, ETHU calls... that is all
What are you using to long/short crypto? Wells Fargo offers little to nothing and ETHU was my first choice at $149 before J-pow sent us to the moon -_-
The gain is primarily driven by leveraged ETHU, GGLL and TQQQ, but this is my whole portfolio and everything went up today. I can provide more details if needed.

Okay here's my regarded plan I've devised to get back on track. I need an 80% gain to break even on my whole profile thanks to some regarded plays. Plan: Buy January 2026 ETHU calls at $200 strike price . For ETHU to hit $200 it needs to be around $4800 or it's previous ath. Many are predicting 6-7.5k by the end of the year. I plan on waiting for eth to drop a bit from here and then buy these calls when eth is around $4000 or so. These calls will be 75% of my profile, so ill need like 100% gain. Why don’t you buy ETH ETF tracker and take leverage with your broker - assuming they charge you maybe a credit spread of 1%? In ETHU, you pay 2.67% expense ratio. The base rate in both examples is included: 1) obviously if you borrow from the broker, you incur base rate charges;2) in case of ETHU, they roll futures which incur base rate cost in them. You can save 1% and don’t suffer from volatility drag - ofc, you have a risk of margin call. Ofc, if you just buying it for 2-3 weeks, it’s not big ideal, but over long-term the costs will add up

I’ve been in this for months already and I actively participate in r/LETFs I’m very into the mathematics of LETFs and the “leveraged decay” is protective of downturns due to the resetting preventing you from going to zero unlike something like margin or an expiry date like options due to the exponential nature of the curve which has an asymptote at 0. It also works well with you during a bull market due to the reset of the leverage daily which causes immense exponential gains during a bull run which I’m trying to capitalize on during this cycle. For those benefits, I’ve made the decision that although the 2x leverage is beyond the efficient frontier due to the volatility of crypto, there is exceedingly positive expected value in this trade even when considering volatility decay since I’m extremely convicted of the bull run but will not dip into options for the play And that’s my thesis of why ETHU/BITX is a better hold personally than ETHA/IBIT for my swing trade goals. Total hold time should be about 5 months ending in October
Change to ETHA. Leveraged etfs decay and have high fees. If it trades sideways you take a loss. I have ETHA for the long haul. ETHU is good for maybe a week or two tops.

Smart move! This is my first time dabbling in them to be honest. I was eyeing them last year when I was holding MSTR and MSTU was going wild. I'm still happy with MSTR and holding the underlying asset makes it easy when things start coming down and crashing. I'm trying my hand at some BITX and ETHU more recently though, as I feel like a lot of the 'red days' are behind us with this crypto bull run and that the next few weeks/months could be very interesting. After BITX/ETHU, I might consider some ASTX or RDTL depending on what price both of those are at. I've never done options, so leveraged ETFs seem like a good middle ground for me.
